Messy Stella (60,835) by G.G. from USA
Now Stella is in Instagram insulting fans. Lol. The very people that buy Marian's music, merchandice and concert tickets. If it wasn't for the fans, Stella wouldn't even have her job. I hope MC fires her ASAP. She is tacky and unprofessional, and is a horrible representative for Mariah. If she doesn't like what fans say to her then she should ignore them or just block them.

It's mine also. I will never forget how beautiful that album is, especially "Outside".

Re: Brussels (60,814) (60,833) by Tijl from Belgium
Thank you Andrew. I have been longing for months to this concert. I however believe the decision isn't just Mariah's. There has been intensive debating about the matter with the Belgian government and the U.S. Embassy in Brussels. I hope with all my heart they pick another date because after reading reviews, especially yours, this tour is a momentum for a new era. Love from Belgium. They can not take away our dreams.

Hello to all (60,832) by Taryn from South Africa
I love you guys on here. I am a long time MC fan, and was just listening to The Elusive Chantuse now lol so I just want to say that it's a really good album. She's a legend.

Re: Brussels (60,814) (60,831) by B from USA
It was a smart decision. She's a megastar and her tour would be targeted because of who she is and because her fans are mainly women and gays. She will reschedule.

Re: The next generation of lambs (60,827) (60,830) by B from USA
Next year will be the 20th anniversary of Butterfly and I think Mariah should release a special collector's edition of Butterfly. Include the music videos, tour footage, and new liner notes with commentary about each song including the classic My All remixes and other gems from that era.

Re: Meghan Trainor - Watch Me Do (60,828) (60,829) by B from USA
I like both. Meghan has better songs than Tori. The only song I've liked by Tori is Should've Been Us. However, Tori deserved the Best New Artist Grammy. How was Meghan even eligible? She wasn't a new artist last year, right?

Re: Meghan Trainor - Watch Me Do (60,816) (60,828) by darrian liu from taiwan
She's a good artist but people tend to dismiss her because her first 3 hits sounded similar to each other (thus everyone said that she's not a good songwriter). I love "No" but I haven't heard "Watch Me Do". I prefer Tori though because idk why she reminds me a lot like 1992 Mariah.

The next generation of lambs (60,827) by Terna from Nigeria
I notice mad love for Mariah on YouTube. In her video comments there's a new wave of fans picking interest in her music. Makes me smile and nostalgic recalling how I discovered Mariah way back in 1997. That Butterfly tape was everything back then. Lol. Of course it eventually got worn and so I went out and got the CD instead. Lol.

Please shut up. At the end of the day a concert is not worth anyone's life. Glad Mariah cancelled.

She's okay. Nothing special. Adele is the biggest star today. She pretty much destroyed every one's career with "25", lol.

Brussels show (60,823) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Why not up security with metal detectors, etc? Then offer to donate proceeds to families of the airport attack? I suppose we'll see how this played out behind the scenes when "Mariah's World" airs.

Re: The Lopez lobotomy (60,813) (60,822) by Malcolm from Asia
I agree. As much as I appreciate her quick response to that insensitive fan made tweet conversation, I'm freaking out with her "another artist" label. She is Mariah "[censored]" Carey. She is not another [censored] artist, she is Mariah, one of the few artist you will recognize immediately by her first name. It pissed me off so badly that I can't deal with her right now. Is she afraid that she will only be a Vegas "show-girl" after her stint on AI so she do things like that to be talked about. After her "Mariah media tour" last time and now this, I can't. I adore her and whatnot but she's getting on my nerve lately, it's obviously intentional.

Instagram / Stella (60,821) by Lara from Middle East
I hope she's just posting this pictures to piss people and tell them to back off. She posted yesterday a picture of her daughter filming and the caption was something like "directing the family show". I hope she's not talking about Mariah's series.

Re: Belgium show (60,811) (60,820) by TJ from Norway
Well, they say that the lightening doesn't hit the same place twice. We doesn't know where the terror will be the next time. It could be anywhere in Europe or North America. I think Belgium might be the safest place for her to perform. Since Christmas it has been attacks in both Turkey and Belgium. I must admit that I didn't feel safe here in Oslo, the other day. We can't let them win, by feeling unsafe. Life must go on while we fight for peoples freedom. I hope all her shows will be held, and that all of you get to enjoy her show. Peace.

Re: Cancellation of Belgium show (60,810) (60,818) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Completely agree. This would have been a major risk and would add a lot of pressure. Plus with all the tension, even Mariah would probably not have been able to pull off the best she has to offer since she would be nervous too, after all, all the people would be gathered there, taking the risk for her concert. It is also very possible that people would not go to the concert altogether. I do hope, for the sake of the fans in Brussels, that she manages to reschedule it for another time.

Cancellation (60,817) by MC1989 from Spain
First of all, and with all my respects, I don't agree at all with Mariah's team decission, it's obvious it's not hers. If they had announced it on Wednesday I wouldn't mind, but I think it's so wrong to cancel a show two days before. A lot of fans are dissappointed because they even flew in from other countries and spent a lot of money. Apart from that, terrorists can attack everywhere. Brussels is not less safe than London is right now. It isn't wise to think that avoiding the concert will keep them safe because unfortunately it isn't less likely to have an attack in other European city. All we have in our developed countries is a fake appareance of security, but you can't have everything under control. However Brussels these days is "besieged" by the army and the police (for those whose calm depends on that appereance of security) so probably, from that point of view, the safety at a concert could be guaranteed better than before the attack. I hope they add more dates to the tour so that she can perform in Brussels. That's the best compensation.

Meghan Trainor - Watch Me Do (60,816) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Gotta say I'm really loving this feistier new Meghan. Whe she first came out, I remember thinking she's not your typical pop star, but she's certainly sassy. Loved her debut album, but wondered how she was gonna grow from that sound. When she won Best New Artist over Tori Kelly, I'm one of those who actually thought she deserved it. (People tend to dismiss pop stars whose hits reek of top 40 calculation.) As much as I like Tori and think her talent is undeniable, I've always found her music a bit faceless and her voice a tad indistinct. Meghan's sound may not be original (I mean these days, whose is?) but at least she's got a ton of spunk and personality to back it up. And it's she's not just a manufactured product, she can actually sing. And with her latest single as well as another new release from her, she's giving me late 90s to mid 00s urban pop realness. If No sounds like a cross between Brit and Destiny's Child, Watch Me Do production-wise sounds like a collaboration between The Neptunes (the the the the for JT's debut album) and Rich Harrison (Amerie's 1 Thing, Beyonce's Crazy In Love, Toni Braxton's Take This Ring, JLo's Get Right). She actually has the swag to pull off this material and make it sound interesting. I can't say the same for a lot of artists today, especially not anyone from her peers.

Re: Cancellation of Belgium show (60,810) (60,815) by enwar00 from usa
I don't disagree with Marissa or anyone else. And I do get the sensitivity aspect. I'm just not sure I understand, do people feel it is more likely that another terrorist attack will happen in Belgium now vs. another city or country she will perform in while on tour?

Brussels (60,814) by Andrew from UK
I didn't want Mariah to cancel Brussels. I really didn't. Fudge the murderers (the term "terrorists" is ridiculous, it moves them to a level on which they wish to exist, but, essentially, they are losers who murder people who can't defend themselves). Fudge them with a c and a k. I saw Mariah singing in Brussels and telling everyone to stand tall and keep going. Never get on your knees, and all that. But it's Mariah's choice. She's the boss. And the thought of a massacre while you're on a chaise longue is going to make most say "fudge it". Belgium is not the United Kingdom or United States or France in its military, intelligence services, wealth etc. It's a small member state. And it has serious issues because of the lack of such things. I get that it's under pressure. (Where the fudge are the rest of the powerful member states, including mine, to help and assure that life goes on? What is the purpose or the I'm ashamed of the EU.) I respect Mariah for saying no. I just feel like we've lost something here. I feel that Europe needs to look to the United States (rarely say this) for a "fudge them, don't mess with us" attitude. What good is the EU if we don't enforce our way of life in the face of those who would seek to destroy it? It's on its death bed. How ridiculous. I wish Mariah were singing on Sunday for the Belgians. It's a deep shame on all the EU that she is not. I hope Mariah plans a one-off down the line. You guys deserve it.

The Lopez lobotomy (60,813) by Andrew from UK
Just in a straight pub in London walking past a group of gays on the way back from the bar and heard "Mariah Carey". Naturally span around and asked about the concert. Non Mariah fans. Didn't go. They were laughing at Mariah because of the "J.Lo" post. Googled it and saw that it's a bunch of bollocks. I'm happy J.Lo responded as fast as she did but the "another artist" label has pissed me off and I'm usually nonplussed about these things. Bit Lopez is winding me up. I criticise all I like, I invested my life in the woman. But I'm irritated. Her name is Mariah Carey. I respect the rapid response. But her name is Mariah. She's not "another artist". Lopez, you're a dancer. If Adele, who has sold more records than you have used squares of toilet paper to wipe your [censored], can call her by name, you can, also. This assertion that they are on a par is beyond.

Belgium show (60,811) by Will from England
I don't blame Mariah at all for cancelling the show. If they can hit a small show in Paris, then a rich American woman, married to a white billionaire, with 8000 people in one area would be too much of a tempting target. I do feel sorry for the fans that traveled and spent a lot of money to get to the show, and maybe on a certain level, I do feel that announcing the cancellation of a show the day before, is a bit late. But I like to think that Mariah exhausted every possibility to make sure that the show could go ahead, until the last minute. And when the docu-series comes out, I'm almost certain that this will be a highlighted episode and we can see what went on.
