Re: New song (66,701) (66,712) by Tameka walker from United states
Thank you for your post and you are not wasting your time. I want to help and support Mariah. I don't know how to download because I am not that good with computers. I need help with that, anything else I will do for our girl she deserves it.

Re: Mariah vs. JLo fued explained video (66,703) (66,711) by Dennis from Miami, FL
That video is hilarious. Especially the intro where Mariah is chasing JLo. I have watched this video 10 times at least during the last 2 month.

Mariah's meet and greet disaster (66,709) by Sheila from United States
[...] like Instagram page: Mariahdoingthings made a meme about the stalker lamb who caused [...] yo cancel all her meet and greets because he went postal backstage over a [...] he made. Not only is he 6 foot 3 and creepy but he does not believe he has done anything wrong. If they tell you backstage that she is scared of you and they don't like you then maybe you should go get a life or a man or a hobby. Other lambs wanted to meet [...] and he has ruined it by being a stalker and weird. I wanted to go to [...] for the meet and greet and like countless other lambs he ruined it. Re: Bye Bye (66,706) (66,708) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I also saw single potential in Bye Bye, I just didn't like the time it was released. They were going for a ballad for the second single because the tempo change would make the song more distinguishable and because that formula worked really well for TEOM. But back then it just made better sense to follow TMB up with Migrate, especially since T-Pain was quite big at the time and the ostentatious use of autotune was trendy. She was also coaching at Idol that time and could have promoted it there to a much better impact. There's no telling whether a song will become a hit or not, but that would have been a stronger statement and would have made a bigger impact. Bye Bye would have done better in the fall/winter, as a follow-up to two or three successful preceding singles.

Music Box (66,707) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Face it this is the most MOR-sounding Mariah album (at least Charmbracelet had a bit more spice), which is great for sales but not for critics. It's a great album that is weighed down mostly by the ballads towards the end but is ultimately saved by its strong singles (Dreamlover, Hero, AYNAF, NFY and Without You are simply essential). Just To Hold You Once Again and All I've Ever Wanted are basically interchangeable, so thank God for I've Been Thinking About You coming between the two. I'd rather they ditched either of those two in favor of Everything Fades Away which will make a good album closer. But since EFA was demoted to bonus track status, I wish they just put the title track at the end instead. It would have made more sense, at least to me, and would have concluded the album on a more hopeful note.

Re: Bye Bye (66,702) (66,706) by Bill from the UK
I never had an issue with Bye Bye either. When I first listened to E=MC2 I thought it would be a single as it seemed to be the baby that One Sweet Day and We Beling Together would make, and being her two biggest songs it was surprising it didn't chart higher. It was the first song of Mariah's that actually moved me to tears ("I wish that we could spend the holidays together" just struck a chord with me).

Re: Sky Diving (The Roof Pt 2) (66,695) (66,705) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I love UUOMF though. It's such a fun and empowering song. I could have lived without the useless reprise though and I would have liked "Skydiving" to replace that. I would also have liked for "Imperfect" to stay on the album. I probably wouldn't replace any other song because I love all the songs on "Memoirs".

Re: Why streaming matters (66,699) (66,704) by 123 from USA
I don't think anyone doesn't agree that streaming isn't important. Streaming makes up for 25% of the chart position. That's why everyone has been up in arms about Mariah taking forever to release a video after a new single is launched. All that being said, the Empire song is a side project, which Mariah's team may not have complete control over the launch, video, and promo. Plus, why are we even discussing chart positions, steaming etc and the song hasn't even come out yet? Can we just enjoy new music? None of the Empire songs have really taken off so can we just enjoy it for what it is and if it take off, yay, if not, she's working on a new album and the right time will come for a proper single release.

Bye Bye (66,702) by Randy from USA
I am going to say this and it's gonna be controversial. I don't think Bye Bye was a bad follow up single to Touch My Body. I love the song. I love StarGate and it was a complete departure from what she had done previously as far as singles. Here's how I feel about single choices and flops. If there was some magic formula to get a #1, then everyone would have them. We don't know what the public is gonna love or hate. Artists just take a chance. PS I really love TTR and it stalled at #81. There's not a lot of rhyme or reason to a song being a hit or not.

New song (66,701) by Haiji Toro from USA
There are many songs in our lifetime to which we feel should be a hit and well known. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work that way. There can be many reasons to why it doesn't. Sometimes it's due to not enough promotion among other reasons. Let's say this new Empire song is truly amazing. It might even be well received. But let's be real, nowadays, Mariah's name and voice isn't enough to push a song up the charts on its own. She's gonna need some real heavy promotion. Take as an example, her song #Beautiful. It's a great song in all, but I felt should have been at least in the top 5 and should have had a solo version. I also think that it might not have even done that well if Miguel wasn't on it, but that's just my opinion. So anyways, whether it's "Infamous" or an actual album first single, I believe if we as fans/lambs truly want or even care to see her back on top, we should take it upon ourselves and promote the hell out of this song. There are a good few that post daily on this message board and that's not even counting those whom read the posts daily. We all have multiple social outlets of some sort. It wouldn't hurt to copy, paste and share on a daily as we do on here. Stream, stream, stream. You don't even have to listen to it directly, just have it playing in the background. Call your radio stations, request it. Maybe there's a way to request it online to the stations as well. I really believe that she needs our help. Our girl isn't as relevant for her present music like before. I really hope I'm not wasting my time with this post. It's worth a try. We put so much time and effort into taking selfies of our filtered mugs and sometimes even what we eat. We post and share them on a daily, I'm sure we can put less effort into helping her out. Maybe another #1 is all she needs to turn that light on she once had and motivate her to make an amazing album.

Thanks for the info. Fingers crossed then we will hear some dates soon as I already have my flights booked (14th - 20th) so I need to make sure I catch at least 1 show as that's the only reason I am going.

Why streaming matters (66,699) by Letters From Adi from India
I know some of you guys think streaming isn't a huge factor, but it is quite the contrary. For instance, Lady Gaga's Perfect Illusion debuted at #15 on Hot 100 despite being the second best selling song the week along with a radio deal. What kept her back from Top 10 was streaming. Her song is down to #117 on Spotify but is doing decently in sales and radio. It is of utmost importance that Mariah's team to get a streaming monster because if it is massive in streaming, sales and radio would follow too.

Voice (66,696) by Tameka walker from United states
I had made an earlier post but not everything got posted as I was saying Mariah has a awesome unbelievable voice. I think there are other talented singers but to me none comes close to Mariah Carey. There is only one Mariah that is why she is called the songbird supreme by the book of world Guinness. To me she is the epitome of singer. I think Christina Aguilera and Ariana Grande are talented in their own way. How ever I don't think any of these ladies comes close to a Mariah Carey talent. Not only can Mariah Carey sing circles around them but she is a prolific song.

Sky Diving (The Roof Pt 2) (66,695) by Terna from Nigeria
Her pen game on this song is something to marvel at. In just 2 minutes, Mariah tells a story about love, heartbreak, longing ang reminiscing, switching in between past and present. You feel she's just told a story of a lifetime. How did this song get cut off the final Memoirs tracklist but crap like "Up out my face" both song and even more horrendous reprise (lol, I hope she doesn't read this) made the cut? This song is up there and easily a part two of The Roof. Just shorter in playtime and not as detailed as the former. I have mad love for Skydiving.

Re: Mariah at The Beacon Theatre (66,689) (66,692) by Luke from United Kingdom
There was a post on Twitter about her tickets for the SSFT being sold out and she was asked to add more dates. However, she declined because she said it would result in her performing more than 3 days in a row which she doesn't do to avoid stress on her vocals, it said she explained she will have to return to New York by that time to rehearse for her Christmas shows. I'm not sure if it's legit though.

I think it was best left off the album. I prefer Do You Think of Me.

Mariah will be doing the Christmas shows again because in the article about Hawaii it said that she couldn't do one of the dates because she would be in New York to start rehearsing for the Christmas shows.

Mariah at The Beacon Theatre (66,689) by Anthony Carey from U.K
Hey lambs, I wanted to see if anybody has heard anything on whether Mariah is doing the Christmas concert series this year? I was trying to cast my mind back as to when it is usually announced and something tells me late September / early October. Any info would be a great help as I need to get organising myself.

Re: Everything Fades Away (66,687) (66,688) by Bill from the UK
Lol, so weird that we both grew up with that album ending on completely different notes and can't see it any other way. It just feels unfinished to me without Everything Fades Away giving it that sad and melancholy end. Maybe that was why it was left off, in terms of upsetting the general mood of Music Box. Everything Fades Away lacks that "wedding album" feel both sonically and with the subject matter that the other tracks all have. I remember when Rainbow came out Mariah said that "for once" one of her albums had a happy ending. Maybe she always saw Everything Fades Away as the true closer to Music Bix and was equally as perplexed as Walter for it being removed for the US market.

Re: Everything Fades Away (66,681) (66,687) by Randy from USA
I swear I read that Tommy said it would lean Music Box in a direction that was too R&B, but I can't remember the source. And I cannot imagine Music Box ending any other way than All I've Ever Wanted.

Re: Mariah's technique, control and unique phrasing (66,678) (66,686) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I posted a theory here years ago that Mariah's usual "rounded" singing/phrasing has been traded for a "flatter", more nasal and less "full" sound as a way of adapting to her diminished ability to belt out and sustain notes especially post-2000. I believe she can still choose to sing with a "rounded" voice, although the result would be noticeably less impressive and not as buttery-smooth in quality than it was the 90s. The closer you put your lips together when you sing, the more breath you save, however, that will definitely affect the sound of what you're singing. To her, it's become more of an adaptation thing than a choice. Since Charmbracelet, she has injected this into her songwriting as well. She'd go for rapid-fire verses than longer drawn-out sentences that extend her vocals. Coincidentally (or maybe not really), this change turned out to be appropriate as it was then when she started really pursuing hip-hop tracks, where herky-jerky, frantic, staccato styles of delivery are a better match.

Re: Everything Fades Away (66,680) (66,685) by MusicfanJ from Germany
After "Without you" sounds nice. But in Europe the song is at the end (bonus track). So in America it wasn't released on Music Box? This song is just incredible. Never heard anything like this. I know a producer for Hip-Hop and RnB and he loves "Everything fades away". He says it's the one song from Mariah who gets him feeling "emotions" everytime.
