Re: Article: Wendy Williams throws major shade at Mariah Carey (67,213) (67,216) by Marissa from USA
I almost forgot they were a couple. I thought sure the wedding would be this summer, but then again to this day I still have no idea whether or not Mariah's actually divorced. She's had the most ambiguous divorce proceedings I've ever seen.

Re: New sound (67,208) (67,215) by Terna from Nigeria
How about Ben Margulies? Now if she must reunite with her old collaborators I feel it should be Ben. Some of her most profound songs were written with Ben and I also feel they didn't hang long enough to bring out the best, kinda like a tip of the iceberg scenario. Afanansieff's sound is dated and would come across as a desperate move to recapture her glory days (I hate that phrase lol).

Article: Wendy Williams throws major shade at Mariah Carey (67,213) by Ignacio Pineda from United States
I don't see them getting married either, to be honest. I didn't take that as Wendy throwing shade, but yes, the way Mariah is, is just the way we love her dahhhling.

Re: Video to old songs (67,211) (67,212) by Bill from the UK
From what I remember at the time, it was a live video from the Rotterdam stop on the Daydream Tour. Mariah said before the song began that it was being filmed for the video. I would love to see the professional edit as her voice was spectacular during that tour.

Video to old songs (67,211) by R&B Junkie from Poland
There is a video for "Underneath the Stars" but no one knows where. It should be found and released since this song is one of the most praised by critics. People would also love that old-school vibe.

Re: New sound (67,208) (67,210) by Luke from United Kingdom
Does she like the songs she made with him though? I got the impression she was always swayed to make the songs into a particular sound by him and the record company unless that was just for the singles. I know she wrote Dreamlover to be a more haunting/emotional song but they wanted it trendy and upbeat. It would be fun to see what they would come up with after all these years but I wonder if it would just sound dated.

Re: H.A.T.E.U. remix / new videos to old songs (67,209) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Your post got me thinking. I know the chances for this to happen are like slim to none, but Mariah has been in the industry for over 26 years now. She has amassed a ridiculous amount of fantastic music. If 2016 Britney can randomly decide to film and release a video for fan favorite album cut from her best album from 13 years ago (Breathe On Me from In The Zone), then Mariah has certainly earned the right to just make a video from any song in her catalogue that she has not yet released. She has nothing to lose (financially maybe, but they're probably gonna be low-budget anyway). This will also help her stay relevant as the intrigue resulting from releasing new videos to older songs alone will be enough to spark some interest for more people to re/discover her body of work. Plus, it's the only avenue where lip-syncing is allowed. I'd like to see her make a video for:
Melt Away
Fourth Of July
Lead The Way
Lullaby
Subtle Invitation
Circles
Your Girl
Cruise Control
It's A Wrap
Ribbon
Christmas Time Is In The Air Again
Faded
Dedicated
Make It Look Good

MJB and Jazmine Sullivan's Thick Of It / Bruno Mars (67,206) by Bobby A from United States
Mary J. Blige's Thick Of It is so beautifully written. It is MJB's best song in a long time. Jazmine Sullivan is the most underrated female songwriter and singer in RNB. She does not get the recognition she deserves. She can take a lyric and melody have you singing it all day long. Her songs are catchy and thought provoking. I hope Mariah is listening to Thick Of It and will call Jazmine Sullivan up to collaborate. Can you imagine the masterpiece those two would make? And I agree with B. that Mariah needs to collaborate with Bruno Mars and The Smeezingtons as well as Mark Ronson, Ryan Tedder, DJ Khaled, DJ Mustard, David Guetta, and Calvin Harrris. I guess all we can do is hope and wait until 2017.

Tour leg with Jussie (67,205) by RibbonB from USA
Thinking about Ribbon again got me thinking about some good duets Mariah and Jussie could do together when they do her concerts in Hawaii. They could slay on "Beautiful", a duet of "Ribbon" and of course their new song "Infamous". I doubt if she will dig so deep into "Memoirs", but they could also do "Inseperable". They could actually sing "Beautiful" then fade into Jussie's one "hit song" "You're so Beautiful". Lol. I would die to see M. sing "Up down, up down, up down up". Hahaha.

Isn't it? I just love it, especially the adlibs at the end and the whistle wind down.

Re: No sign of The Beacon shows yet? (67,187) (67,202) by Will from England
During the press clipping for Mariah's Hawaii shows, didn't it say that she initially didn't want to add more shows, due to rehearsals for the Beacon show(s) along with Thanksgiving?

Ribbon (67,201) by darrian liu from taiwan
Can I just say that this song brings so much joy to me? I didn't really pay attention to it before but after reading the messages here regarding how good the song is, I really listened to it and damn, I fell in love with the song. It's pure joy encapsulated in 4 minutes and a half.

Haha then her album can be titled The Inflaming Inception of Mimi.

New sound (67,199) by B from USA
I want Mariah to write songs with catchy poetic lyrics like she did during the Daydream and Butterfly eras. I want her to write with Bruno Mars and The Smeezingtons, Frank Ocean, The Weekend, and Miguel and Happy Perez. I also want her to work with Diane Warren, David Foster, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. I'd also love for her to work with David Morales again on an epic dance remix or remixes with resung vocals like she did in the 90's.

I meant faux-Jamaican patois on Cruise Control, not Side Effects. Haha.

iTunes live Mariah tour at the Pearl (67,196) by Sheila from United States
Mariah is usually very cautious with live releases. [...] wonder how this slipped under the radar? [...] 2nd verse is missing and [..] title has changed.

Seriously though, Infectious and Inferno sound like legit song titles especially for uptempo bangers. I can also see her coming up with:
Infatuation: Self-explanatory.
Influence: Her own version that song which states how much love affects her actions and behavior.

You might as well add Brandy to that list as well. I mean she did get a songwriting credit for Ryde Or Die, so I guess there was no legal action. Man, J.Lo really had it easy, huh? Who else can build a career out of stolen ideas and get away with it?

Re: What will be the next single name? (67,173) (67,193) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
M from UK and Asia, you both had me on the floor laughing with Infringement and Inferior. And since we're already running out of words starting with "inf-", please indulge/excuse me as I attempt to join in on the fun:
Infallible: A self-empowerment anthem. She's used bigger words in the past, so why not?
Infighting: Mariah finally addresses the Idol drama through song.
Inflection: A song utilizing Mariah's attempt at rapping on Prisoner, her faux-Jamaican patois on Side Effects, her faux English accent, and most importantly, her prank call stereotypical New Yorker impression. Yes, all in one song.
Inflation: Can either be Mariah's go at an economically-conscious song or an account of what happened to her own ego through the years.
Informal: Mariah's new anthem inspired by her wardrobe choice at the UN event earlier this year.

H.A.T.E.U. remix (67,191) by Malcolm from Asia
I always wonder what if Mariah released it as a single with a throwback-feel music video, it could've been great. Whenever I get to hear it to other people, they always say it's a bop and feel good jam and they always ask why they didn't know about it. I hope someday Mariah will release her unreleased gems.

Re: Queen of music (67,185) (67,190) by Haiji Toro from USA
I don't think she'll ever record a Spanish version of "I Only Wanted", seeing that she doesn't show much interest in that era, since we've been waiting forever for some type of release of "Yours (remix with Justin Timberlake)". One wish I've always had was for her to re-release past songs with new and updated vocals/ad-libs to fit her present voice or maybe even little tweeks of instrumentation and put them all on a compilation or remix album with past bonus/rare/unreleased/demo tracks.
