Vegas residency (64,581) by RibbonB from USA I took my little nephew to see Finding Dory today and one of the movie ads was Mariah singing Infinity and advertising her Vegas residency. It was good to see her. While I don't love the song Infinity, the intro music is excellent. I do think a more well known song would be a better ad for her #1's show though. It's less to do with the current use of social media and more to do with Mariah reconnecting with her fans like she used to and simply using her social media to do it. Her post was eloquently written minus any disparaging remarks about anyone. Travon it's rude and hypocritical of you to say that there are classier people on the UKMix board and then agree with blondie when you were obviously throwing a not so subtle dig at him by saying that. Considering they had the original thread locked proves my point that they get infested with trolls as well. Marissa obviously picked a topic that can be easily changed. The topics you mentioned are just rude as hell minus the meet and greets that any prudent person would know to bring those up in a private and not public forum. If you want to see her perform, why not go to Vegas? Mariah's US tours don't do well, why would she try to tour here when there is not a demand. Why not support her in Vegas? Didn't she do a meet and greet at her home and gave a fan her 1990 necklace and sang for them during the promo for You're Mine? She even sang a snippet of Slipping Away I thought. He got into it with someone that doesn't even post anymore and left and never came back. It's like we lost some good posters and gained a lot of messy ones in exchange. There are still plenty of good hearted people who post. There have been a lot of newbies posting lately and I hope it continues, especially the folks that usually just come here and observe. I have two objections to this: firstly, of all the reasons to start an ePetition, Stella's kid doing her social media is it? Secondly, a petition may attract the attention of a showbiz journalist who will spin it (or on this case just report it) in a way that will humiliate Mariah. Thus it's possible you are assisting directly in Mariah's potential humiliation. And Mariah is as my family and friends: I can bitch about her, but I don't like it when non-fans do, to put it mildly. But I do have to state that for years I've been (quite unpopular in) stating the truth as I see it and trying to get people to be honest with their feelings and tell Mariah to change for the better in many ways. Now that it's happening perhaps I should just celebrate it. I don't know. Maybe. I just wish it were for something more worthwhile and meaningful. Anyway, you and me sittin' in a tree, loverboy. But you waisted your own time by writing that stupid message. And why do you have to insult us by suggesting we're not fans because we would like to connect to Mariah? Isn't that something all fans want? You say Mariah only talks to her fans, please tell me, when was the last time? Mariah is a singer and without her fans she would be nothing. So it is not too much to ask of her to simply address her fans once in awhile. It would only take her a couple of minutes. By the way, I was the second one to sign the petition. I mean, you can't seem to understand one thing: Mariah is not waisting her time "talking" to you the way she used to do because you just ain't lambs. She only has conversations with lambs, not [censored]. Her way of conversing with her lambs (people who adore/respect her artistry and the challenges she's had, choices she makes, with trust and understanding, even when it may not seem to make sense at first). Now she expresses herself less directly (like the voice messages she used to leave, 15 years ago), because she has a life outside of her fame. I understand that, I respect that. And in her own way, she encourages us to do the same: make choices, follow your hearts and dreams, even when it only makes sense to yourself. What a great way of giving back. for those who care, for those who and "read" her, for those who have a heart, and brain, get a life. In the literal sense of the word. Peace out. Put up or shut up. Don't get mad at us because you have yet to make a move beyond whining on this messageboard. I think the reason people have been able to get behind this petition is that it doesn't come across like we're just trying to boss her around, nitpick or pull her in 300 different directions. It's coming from a place of love rather than having a checklist of 100s of hoops Mariah has to jump through to be good enough for us, which is usually the state of mind that you have. Do you want to do what's effective, or do you just want to hear yourself talk, because petitions like "Mariah, stop airbrushing", "Mariah, you're too fat for my standards, tone up" and "Mariah, you're embarrassing us by lipsyncing" are only going to make her and anyone close to her defensive. Being controlled or gave up control? (64,566) by Natalia from Italy So much has changed with the Mariah from a few years ago, and the Mariah of today. The Mariah from the past was very passionate about her music. She was a self proclaimed "workaholic". She was much more connected to her fans, and made an effort to communicate with us through personal voice messages. It seems that all that has changed. She seems so distant. Something is so wrong here. It's like she have given away all control, or she is being controlled. She doesn't come off to me as a happy person. She almost always looks tipsy or heavily medicated, or it could just be that she is so exhausted that she looks medicated. We can't really know for sure. The bruises were very strange to me. Yes, people who have childen and dogs can get bruises, but this is Mariah Carey, she has multiple nannies and people who work for her. I am sure they would take care of any obstacles that might be in her way, that could have given her those bruises. I just have a bad feeling that something is just not right here. Call me crazy, think whatever you wish to about me, I don't care. I will not stop talking about it, because I feel it so strongly, something is just not right here. Bravo for the petition (64,565) by Natalia from Italy I love it. I plan to sign it, as soon as I get a chance to sit down and write a meaningful little note to MC. If anything, she could at least have them shoot short little videos of her talking to us directly, then they could post it on her social media for her. Sign the petition (64,557) by Carlos from Brazil As a Brazilian lamb and a very positive one I do agree with the petition and I also signed it. I will send it to the biggest Mariah site in Brazil (Mariah Now) so I hope they see it and show support. Some instagram photos on Mariah's account are very unflattering and the disconnection with the fans is clear.
