Celine at the BBMAs (62,564)
by darrian liu from taiwan

I was stunned by Celine's performance. She sounded amazing. I can't wait until Mariah makes a televised performance and really give her all like Celine did. Her voice is in a good shape right now and I'm excited for any next performance Mariah has in mind. Maybe she would surprise us and pop up a performance?

I agree with you with what you said about Mariah, but don't come for Tori. In my mind, Mariah is the empress (the ultimate), Beyonce is the queen and Tori is my princess. Don't go for Tori, she's still got a long way to go and yet she has been an incredible singer and artist.

Billboard Music Awards (62,561)
by Giovanni from USA
| |
|

Was boring and a hot mess. Having two people who are both irrelevant to the music industry host was so unnecessary. The only performances that I enjoyed were from Mehgan Trainor and Celine Dion. I was happy Adele won two awards and beat Taylor Swift. Was amazing at the awards. I don't like her new song but that vocal she gave at the end was impressive. However I don't think she deserved that award. Mariah is definitely more of an icon and a legend than her. "Vision of love" slays anything Celine or any other female singer has recorded. That song influenced just about every artist that came after Mariah. She clearly deserved that award.

You're cheesy, and so are your favs who can't top Mariah in voice, lyrics or on Billboard. Maybe Tori Kelly could learn from Mariah or Adele what it is to be a real singer and artist. As well as being successful. *plays "There's got to be a way"*

Re: Mariah is cheating (62,520) (62,558)

What a lazy accusation. I don't think she would make it so obvious if she was truly cheating on her fiancé with Bryan. She probably would be more discreet and I'm sure she wouldn't have attempted the lapdance or the Bryan guy wouldn't be posting her all over snapchat if they were truly up to no good. I agree with the person that mentioned Mariah priding herself on being loyal. Some of you all are going off the deep end with your speculations, it's actually hilarious at this point.

I agree. Mariah shouldn't make any announcements until the album is ready and she shouldn't release a single unless the album is ready. The delays derailed MOAIA and MIAM. I also think that streaming the album for free the week before or of release is a bad decision. I think she should wait until the second week to make the album available for streaming. I want videos like The Roof, My All, and Honey. Classy yet sexy.

I missed Britney's opening performance. How did she do? What award did she win? Celine's acceptance speech made me cry especially when she dedicated it to Rene. I wish I had been honored last night.

I don't agree with some of the things she's done and said but she was there for Mariah during a difficult time. We can't deny that Stella has had a positive impact on Mariah's career. Mariah's World will most likely answer our lingering questions about Stella.

If we can find a silver lining from the relevancy that she's getting based on her antics and shallowness, all the hate comments and the public's treatment for her that is seriously far away from her colleagues like Celine and Janet is would be a music release that will surprise everyone. A great song, great music video (story-wise and production-wise), great promotion and great live TV performances can change the majority's perception of her. It could be a "talk of the town" that can reflect in the sales of the song. We are all tired with the delays, changing plans that already revealed to the public, so on and so forth. This time, all of the things must come together and be sleek in everything. But from what's happening today that I agree is becoming more weirder, we don't really know what to expect from Mariah and her team. All I can say is Mariah's voice gets better but in other aspects? I have no idea where all of this are heading.

It's true the videos are a little bit too staged. I mean it looks so from the "outside". But one thing is clear, this "manager" Stella is more and more annoying. What was the reason they connected? There must have been more good managers than her. Why choose such a person? Mariah should work with someone who stands 100% for music and not only for entertaining. Mariah is smart, so what's going on?

I have the unpopular opinion on this video. I thought it was funny. It's funny to hear Mariah cursing. She's like a bad kid who just learned her very first curse word. I totally blocked Stella from my mind. I didn't see her or hear what she said. Lol.

How does Britney get this award over Mariah? Britney has not sold 1/2 of what Mariah has. These award shows are probably paid to promote these Vegas shows by making up awards to help sell tickets in Vegas. All crap.

Did you peep Stella's quote in the background: "See what I'm saying, I coached her" after Mariah basically cussed (albeit jokingly but MC typically keeps the fact that she curses on the major DL so I was shocked) out TMZ? She has Mariah enrolled in ratchet 101. Ugh "these people".

Maybe MC does see it but simply doesn't care? I've said in a previous post that Mariah is vulnerable and craves companionship especially due to her own family chaos, so the Bulochnikovs ever-presence fills that need and they can also exploit that for their own gain. So maybe she thinks that their Kardashian-like antics are a small price to pay for their pseudo unconditional love and companionship? I certainly don't agree with her mentality if that's what she actually believes, but I really cannot believe or accept that Mariah would be that dumb not to see that they have an agenda. They certainly have her living in a vacuum which is dangerous for any person. She never has the space to be by herself and introspective (which is really making me wonder if her lyrics will be as deep as usual for the next album), but I'm starting to believe that she is trying to actively avoid having that time. If Mariah wanted to be by herself to think straight she would demand that, but she doesn't. I feel like nowadays she's running from something rather than living for something like she used to back in the day, and her new clique is supplying her with the running shoes and steroids. Don't get me wrong, on the surface everything looks like it's going well with her, but there's an emptiness and avoidance of reality that I always see now.

Cheating delusions (62,545)

Wow? The people here are just as horrible as the media assuming bull crap lies. Mariah Carey is engaged, knows her worth and not a promiscuous person. At all. Bryan Tanaka is not gay and has always been a good supporter of Mariah ever since The Adventures Of Mimi. Just like any dancer, they like to post pictures with big stars so people see "they made it" in this industry where dancers usually make it nowhere. Mariah must have reconnected and really trusted him because choreographers are amazing mentors, they push you, inspire you and they keep it real to make sure you have amazing performances, and it shows, Mimi has been killing it. I'm in awe at how ignorant some "lambily" are. How could you call yourself a fan when you don't even know how much of a loyal person Mariah is. She lives for loyalty.

I thought the same. I caught the kisses on the cheek as well. I'm sorry but if I'm gonna marry someone, I would probably be a bit more affectionate than that. I'm not saying to show pda all over town, but come on, she used to be all over Nick 24/7. Something must be going on behind the scenes. Behind "her" scenes, not "theirs". I smell something fishy here. Smells like tween spirit with a side of Bulochfish.

I'm watching the Billboard Music Awards and I can't believe they haven't given Mariah the Icon Award. She is the holder of many Billboard records. Jennifer Lopez received the award last year, right? The year Mariah preformed. Is this a new award? Mariah is the soloist with the most Billboard Hot 100 #1's, 18.

Trying to stay positive / Nick's Grandfather died. (62,541)

I so adore this woman's music, but I'm finding it hard to keep my opinions just on her music. After watching that video of her with JP there's so much I want to say and I have so many questions. Did I mention how I adore this woman's music ? Lol. Anyway I know this is a Mariah board and most of you hate Nick, but I'm saddened about hearing of his grandfather's passing. They were really close and it was hard to see him posting pics of them together. Especially the one of him being with him 2 weeks ago. Just sad.

Dem babies seemed to have a good relationship with him based on the pics I have seen. He was in the When Christmas Comes video. Sad moments have a sobering effect. Hopefully all related parties will stop to honor and reflect. Roc had the biggest and most magnetic smile in that video and he sometimes displays that even today. So very cute. Roe is also super cute.

OK, I'm sorry but this gets weirder and weirder by the day to me. I think MCA is one of the most popular Mariah Carey message boards that I'm sure Mariah and her people are aware of. Therefore I am almost positive they know what has been discussed on here lately. I do believe if you read that little write up on TMZ that goes along with that video that "this appearance was staged by Stella" she knew Mariah being seen out with James was what was needed now with all the Bryan talk and how James is not around too much. Maybe I am too cynical but it just seemed too "planted so to speak". Mariah shows up with who else? Stella and this Miska again and just so happens that James is seen with her enough to shut people up. Hell, she can't even leave with her fiancé? She has to tell him sleep well. And she doesn't kiss him on the lips. She hugs goodbye with a peck on the cheek directly in front of the paps? This is a restaurant that is well knows for paparazzi and it was well understood it would be put out there. Mariah is this thing with James even real? Is it just for reality TV? I'm sorry but you have to wonder because it all seems so bizarre to me as well as a lot of other people. Even on the interview where she talks about James she is starting to look uncomfortable and says he is wonderful, great and I just don't know. These actions all seem worse since the tour. I certainly hope this wedding is not all for TV. No need to start a lamb war over here. I deeply love Mariah with all my heart but don't understand this behavior at all.

What surprises me though is how Mariah fell for it. She is a smart businesswoman who has had 25 years worth of experience at the very least and dealt with numerous people (a lot of whom tried to take advantage of her). How does she fail to see what the Bulochnikovs are doing? Why were they at the date with her fiance? Does she have absolutely no time where she is alone? I mean the Bulochnikovs live with her at her Calabasas home, or wherever part of the world she is in. They accompany her on dates with her future husband, they go to every single event with her (and yes Stella may be required to be there but her entire family?). This is just so bizarre. Also since Mariah has absolutely abandoned her social media, the only place her fans could directly talk to her, everything we think and feel are being flushed away. The Bulochnikovs will obviously filter away any negative thing we say about them because Mariah has basically adopted them and they need her. I am waiting for Mariah to wake up and shrug these people off. All they are doing is distracting her from her music. The only time Mariah said she was considering going back to the studio was when she told Cohen that she had a talk with JD at dinner the previous night and she discussed wanting to go back. Stella wasn't seen at the dinner thankfully. They are keeping her so wrapped up in a haze that she has no free time to think. Also, Stella is on her way to get her entire family mentioned along with Mariah's name every time Mariah is mentioned anywhere. She has already started with TMZ and several articles. We should expect more of these.
