Can't Say No (58,064) by 123 from USA
I love this song. I'm so glad that Mariah is getting love from today's rappers and is not only getting sampled, but also asked to appear on the song as well. I love how she re-sang the vocals opting to sing the chorus with only her lead vocal instead of having the harmonized layered vocals like the original. It really shows the vulnerability in her voice and invokes even more emotion. I love the re-write as well. "Thoughts of you and I, still kill, me slow." This is the old Mariah I remember. Re-singing, re-writing, re-arranging. She could have just took the route she has been taking lately when "re-making/re-releasing" previous songs and leaving the original vocals like AIWFCIY, It's A Wrap, Betcha Gon Know etc. She finally lost the weight, I hope this becomes a single and they shot a video and do various performances. I hope she stuck it to Tommy by putting in the high notes at the end that he had removed from the original radio edit. This is my favorite ballad of hers and I'm glad it could get another shot at the charts. Its also a great way to introduce her classic material to a younger audience who are unfamiliar with the splendor of MC classics.

Thanks Lee. I thought the GMA spot was really cute. Steve Harvey seemed more formal. GMA and Kelly & Michael and the other are more light-hearted and fun. I love her re-sung vocals for Can't Say No. Are they really making it an album only purchase though? Gotta hand it to them, that's smart marketing, because I was hoping to buy just that song. Lol.

Re: Out now: "All I Want" lip-sync (58,062) by Ian from United Kingdom
It is what it is, we will probably never see her sing this song (and many others) live ever again, sad but I'd rather she lipped it than see her mess up. If she starts taking her time with studio recordings, working more on the arrangements, melodies and backing vocals and focusing less on how many rappers she can fit on one track I believe she could rise again. She has the talent and ability to write classic songs. Just my thoughts.

Anyways (58,061) by Lee TS from USA
I just wish there was more of this interview. I love how her voice sounds too, very healthy and not tired. She's very pleasant here and very sweet. Also, you can catch more or Mariah singing Can't Say No on iTunes preview of Rick Ross' album. She changes some of the lyrics. And her face is priceless when they sprung her 20 year old self on her. I know us lambs want to know what's reeling through her mind while watching this. I hope she's simply proud of how far she has come.

Parade (58,059) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I would have complained if this was a concert like Vegas or Beacon but seriously it's a darn parade. Her main job was to sit on that huge float and wave at people and flash that million dollar smile. So I will avoid getting into this argument and instead focus on how gorgeous Mariah looked. From the dress, to the hair and that luxurious fur shrug. She looked every bit the queen of Christmas that she is. She is visibly slimmer and her smile just lights up every picture. I also loved that she is being mature and spending Thanksgiving with Nick and his family for dem babies.

Andrew you are just too into this whole. She is an amazing single and will away so be. So what if she lip syncs? Just get over it and move on.

Why is lip sync such a big deal? (58,057) by Ardis Logic from Earth
It seems like this topic always comes up here. What is the big deal? Seriously. So what if she lip syncs? We all know that she has a truly amazing, and one of a kind voice. It's not like she's pulling a "Milly Vanilly" on us or anything. Why does this bother so many people? It's really starting to become comical that certain people are so bothered by this. Then the massive attacks that follow just give those people that much more attention. I wish we could move on from the whole lip sync issue. It happened, and it will happen again and again, in the future. She will sing live when she can, and chooses too. It would be nice if we could all just accept that and move on, so we can discuss more interesting things.

Re: Out now: "All I Want" lip-sync (58,011) (58,056) by Andrew from UK
"Everybody lip-syncs in a parade" is completely missing the point (although I think some people avoid the point rather than simply miss it). Having an isolated mic feed of poor vocals released last year should have led MC to get out and smash that song this year. Booking to perform in a parade in which she knew she would mime is yet another bad PR decision which would obviously lead to more negative press and social media comments. One would naturally assume the purpose of performances and interviews is to achieve the opposite.

Some people just choose to see the bad. Some choose to see some things deeper than the real thing and like to criticize. It's rather annoying when people like me like to see the other side of things. Mariah doesn't need this, but she continues (like you said). This alone should give people a hint to stop complaining so much. But no. We must endure the abuse, along with Mariah.

Mariah was articulate, funny, engaging, and self-deprecating. She seemed open and she had that spark in her eyes that was missing. I can't wait to hear Can't Say No.

Re: Some things stay the same (58,016) (58,047) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I wonder a lot why she doesn't just throw up her hands and say "Forget it, I don't need this." But, she always preservers no matter what comes her way. I love that about her. So, on target about people waiting to pounce and point out all the ways she messes up, isn't doing enough, sounds bad, looks bad, etc. I think that's why some artists (like Adele, or say Kate Bush) aren't very public.

I did and I adore you Mimi. I spent the day with the family. My little sister told my nephews the only ringtone she has on her phone is Infinity. She also talked about how amazing Mariah sounded and looked in Vegas.

This made me laugh. Why was I also expecting these [censored] lip synch comments? I guess some people don't know what a parade is. They expected a real concert at a parade? Give me a break.

Little reminder (58,040) by Will from England
That Mariah can choose not to do anything. She can travel the world at leisure, relax in the Bahamas all she wants, play with her dogs and kids, get married, and just quietly exit from the music and public scene. She doesn't need to do anything. With all this negativity that has been surrounding her both privately and publicly from the fans and media, I'm surprised she hasn't decided to do so already. She doesn't need to sing, record, act, direct, create so much as a upmarket loo brush for the rest of her life. But she chooses not to do that. She chooses to still appear in public, whether it be a parade or TV or whatever because a) it makes her happy and b) it can make someone else happy to see her. Clearly not everyone, but someone. If all she could do was lip on the parade, then she has no choice but to (especially if they are not equipped to be able to have live performances, there's literally no point whining). And a little more research would have saved a lot of needless words being typed , and me a lot of reading. So let us be thankful that Mariah still chooses to be a part of our lives in one way or another, and not try and diagnose the non-existent problems she doesn't have. I find it hard to believe that all lambs have degrees in medicine or clinical psychology, because this isn't Tumblr. It seems she's responded to the comments over her behavior in past interviews, and has adjusted as such to match our expectations. Now we're not happy again.

Negativity (58,039) by b3nP123 from United States
Ok. It's very apparent that many of you all aren't happy with what Miss Mariah Carey has been doing as of late with her career. Why? I'm not sure. When she lips at a lipped parade (common knowledge) you whine. When she wants to be active in the holiday season (movie, book, endorsements, appearances) you whine. Why can't you just be happy she's doing all of these things at all and being successful. She doesn't have to disappear for years and come back with just music if she doesn't want to. I, for one, am very excited that she's sharing the holiday season with us. As far as her being "stiff" during interviews goes, wouldn't you be "stiff" if your every move was scrutinized, even when it's a good one? Also, getting up early when you're not used to it for days in a row. Also, here's a contradiction. You all say you want her to stop being so over the top and like a diva and be relatable. But now it's she's dull and boring. Pick a side. Mariah's "diva antics" are the fun side that you all so long for right now. But whenever she's fun and funny it's not ok to be childish and act that way. I'm not saying you have to like everything she does, but someone needed to remind some of you all that this is Mariah Carey. A legend who has been in the business for a quarter of a century, not some new star whose career is on the line. She's done it all. She could just stop and hide away but she cares enough about us and music to keep giving us things to look forward to. Just keep that in mind. Stay festive.

Stiff (58,038) by DK from USA
Mariah appears to be quite stiff in recent appearances. Whatever the reasons behind it, as an entertainer there is a certain doze of "festivity" that you ought to project, or otherwise don't make an appearance at all. MC dislikes any "age" references but her low energy level on the screen does not help her to this end. Recently she also made a reference regarding "how rushed" the whole "A Christmas Melody" movie production felt, which is almost an indication that she too may not be super thrilled with the final product. One thing is puzzling, for a woman who is in a position to have more control in her projects, why are things always slipping away and "rushed"? I would rather her hide away for 4-5 years like Adele and come back with a solid product than put all sorta random things out there. Mimi used to be against endorsing products, etc, but not on the 25th year mark of her career she is definitely been convinced otherwise - dem babies and those diamonds come at a cost I guess.

Re: Out now: "All I Want" lip-sync (58,031) (58,037) by darrian liu from taiwan
But we all knew that she was gonna perform in Macy's way before the performance happened. I assume you've known Macy's Thanksgiving Parade for enough time not to expect a genuine live performance (I didn't know anything about the parade until Mariah performed in it this year). I did also expect her to sing live because I thought Macy's Thanksgiving Parade were like other shows where you can actually choose to sing live. I recently found out that 99% of the performances in that parade were lipped. Just cut her some slack, it's not like her voice is worsening. I have said many, many times before that Mariah's voice is making a slow comeback and soon, we'll hear Beacon-quality vocals again. I'm sure that this year, she will redeem herself in Rockefeller and gain back the public respect to her.
