Everyday you have [...] insulting Mariah left to right when your rules clearly say [...] not allowed. I'm not a new fan to the site and I do believe this site is full of [...] who actually just like to talk about Mariah - not actual fans. I've said it [...] have to agree on everything [...] should be on the same page when it comes to Mariah [...] are not: 99% talks trash about her look, her voice, her hair, her speeches, while 1% comes here and defends her. I [...] 1% fault. I don't tell anyone how to be a fan. But [..] my right to say if they are wrong if I feel like it. [censored] Uppps [...] discussion begin. [Webmaster: There is also another rule: "And please try to write understandable English, with the proper use of dots and capitals." So please don't start every word with a capital. And if you insult me, it will be censored.]

It's just interesting that one of only three rules for leaving a message is not something that is adhered to. Not to mention the post in question also includes a swear word that was censored in my own previous post but mysteriously not censored in that post. It seems there is a bias going on here.

Every once in awhile there comes a new fan on this messageboard who proclaims he or she is a true fan, who believes Mariah can do no wrong. Everyone who doesn't agree with him or her is a so-called fan and not a true lamb. Well let me tell you a secret and maybe this might come as a shock to you: this messageboard is open to all fans. Not only for the blind fans who worship the ground Mariah walks on, but also for the real fans who know Mariah is a human being like the rest of us and can make mistakes. Please don't tell others how to be a fan and please don't tell me how to run this website.

I was utterly shocked as well that something like that would appear on a Mariah forum from someone who says they are a fan of Mariah. What exactly is the moderator even doing? The messageboard rules clearly state: "Messages that are insulting (to Mariah, other artists or members of this messageboard) will not be posted." And yet, here they are.

I just wanted to say MC looks great in the new Daily Mail article, not "worse for wear". She looks so youthful and a lot better than some of her stage looks. i wish I looked that good stumbling out of a club.

Rabbit hole (61,906)
by RibbonB from USA
| |

Looks like Mariah decided or was forced to go deep into the rabbit hole with her friend Brett and his besties James and Stella. I hope she takes the right pill before it's too late. Matrix references of course, but I do think Mariah is dealing with a lot of serious life situations with a lot of illusions, smoke and mirrors. That's fine for the stage, but dangerous in real life.

Regarding Mariah's image (61,898)
by darrian liu from taiwan
| |
|
|
There's no doubt that the public nowadays has a better opinion on Mariah than let's say, the MIAM era. However, she's still a long way from being likeable. She needs to show that she's still grounded. Right now many thought of her as an airhead bimbo who can't really sing as good as she used too. While her voice is in a good shape right now and she is hitting notes she dodged for years, she's still not getting media attention for that. It's making all these improvements useless for her image repair especially when her voice, her biggest asset is getting less coverage than her booty or her boobs. Thank God that the snapchat video didn't blow up but her lap dance did. Of course, Mariah has every right to do those things but she should know that lap dancing a dancer with an injured leg would diminish her likeability among the public, especially with the ageists. She needs to do something that can shift the media attention back to her greatest asset, her music and her voice. Maybe holding a live stream and sing her songs acoustically with minimal arrangements.

Don't worry Mariah will be in the studio with JD very soon, instagramming at 5am like it's impressive and anyone cares, dropping endless boring hints for months on end about an imminent release of new music which will basically just be updated and out-dated versions of everything they've ever written before and then rape-produced to within an inch of its life with vocals she is nowhere near capable of actually producing in front of another human-being with JD groaning over the intro with gems such as "you gotta hear this" or "ima letchu know something you don't give a shit about". Oh, and she'll get her tits out whilst drinking champagne with lots of overweight black people you've never heard of, but they be wearing snapbacks and gold chains and sunglasses indoors and say "fo' real" a lot. And you'll pretend like you give a fuck but deep down you really won't. Nor will anyone with purchasing power. Or hearing. Think I should use my powers of foresight for good or for evil? Evil, I reckon. Those guys have the best costumes.

Mariah at Mishka's Bar Mitzvah (61,896)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |

|
Mariah went to Mishka's Bar Mitzvah at 1OAK and I don't know who told her this would be a good outfit choice. Here is a close up. This is with Stella and Mishka. This is with Bryan and DJ Suss one. She has lot of weight and her makeup looks good but that dress. I just can't. What is it? For a woman who has a 4000 square feet closet, this is what she chooses to wear out.

The secret hip-hop history behind Mariah's "Daydream" (61,895)

That was a nice little article. JD and Mariah really did a great job when they came up with ABMB. It was a good ten years before I knew JD helped write the song. I knew he helped with the remix (which I love to infinity and beyond lol), but I was really impressed with him more finding out he was a creative mind behind the original song. Many fans are tired of her working with JD, but I love their chemistry.

Exactly. Some out here act as if Mariah's career was something that somehow just fell on her lap or was handed to her. Yeah, because that's how you last for 26 years in such a cutthroat business. She worked her ass off, people, because she wanted this -badly. Whatever she has right now, she earned, because she dove headfirst into an industry which she for sure knew was not going to be easy. Look, despite a lot of great things that's happening to Mariah right now both personally and professionally, why the hell isn't she getting any good press about it? Why is the focus still mostly on whatever ill-fitting dress he is wearing or how diva-ish she's acting? The media focuses on the negative? That's not enough reason/excuse anymore. How the heck do you think does Adele manage to be ultra-likable these days? Aren't you just sick and tired of how Mariah is doing well and yet she still isn't taken seriously? Where's the justice in that, right? Only to find out upon closer inspection that it's mostly she who is standing in her way. Treating her with kid gloves isn't gonna do her or her fans any favors. You want her back on the charts? It takes more than a combination of good material and perfect timing to do that these days. The image has to follow. Mariah knows this. She was the girl who triumphantly came back after back-to-back commercial duds Glitter and Charmbracelet - without Tommy's help. She knows how she pretty much had to rebuild her career and how much humility and grace that entailed. Unless she has already given up, she'd have to be more self-aware of how her actions implicate her career.

Anthony, these have been my exact thoughts for sometime. I completely agree. It's frustrating and actually quite scary because it's as if I'm watching Mariah destroy herself and other fans are either blind to everything or just in denial. I've always loved seeing Mariah going out having a few splashes and enjoying her life. But this is something else, this is someone else. I can't quite describe it but this kind of behavior is not Mariah, idc what anyone says. I just seen a series of very odd snapchat videos where Mariah is all over Bryan (her dancer) and DJ Suss One. At one point I thought I seen her on top of Bryan. She was clearly intoxicated but she just looked so... disconnected. I can't really explain it. I want to think that all the extras and antics are just for the show, but I honestly don't know what's going on. I'm still confused as to why this show is even happening in the first place. It's all frustrating. I just miss Mariah. But I've said this before and I'm saying it again, this is all bad, really bad. And to the lambs that are calling out other lambs for being concerned for Mariah, don't say we didn't tell you so. This is all out of love. Yes, she's a grown woman and can do whatever she wants but does that mean as fans we can't care about her well-being and legacy for that matter? Obviously it seems nobody around her does. And this is not just about her image or legacy, but it's about us not losing anymore legends because they're surrounded by "yes" people and people who are just out for themselves. Yes, it's very hard to even think about, but we have to real here. And as far as Mariah's legacy and image goes well it's obvious we all view her differently than the general public. I can go on and on about the things I read in the comment sections but most of what I read is not nice so I'll just keep them to myself. And as a fan I'm finding it harder and harder to defend her antics. It's almost like she has became an parody of herself.

Do tell where I said Mariah should make inferior music to be famous and get awards? In fact no one on this board said Mariah should compromise her music to be popular again. You keep trying to make a point but you get distracted. Next time don't bother trying to start an argument if you don't know what you are debating about. I wish you well.

Good day to all the lambs on here. I'm new and I'm been reading post here like it's my new religion but a lot stuff makes me so angry, upset, and so frustrated, but I hope [...] guys can [...] positive and celebrate Mariah successful tour she did and her sense of humor she left behind for her South African fans because Lord knows we needed her lapdance in impros to songs and all her divaness and the modelling and swag she had on stage even the giggles she did wen certain songs she sang. I enjoy Mariah Carey in every aspect of her life whatever she does it brings a smile to my face and sometimes makes my day. I love her pics and come on here just to see them and Mimi Asia hasn't posted pics in ages but that Lamb complains more but I love you all on here. But I will be more active then just in the shadow because there's a lot that you lambs don't know or can't see or read inbetween interviews and shows. This concert was a statement from Mariah due from her previous concert. Remember? Please think of that and think of how different this concert was. Love you lambily. What does L4L means again?

Finally here we can feel a bit of warm heat here in France. In the car I still enjoy the song Beautiful, it is fresh, smooth, the remixes are very pow, the Spanglish version make it exotic, the rap version make it current. Anyway Me I Am Mariah The Elusive Chanteuse playing in the car when the sun is there is just a beautiful extasy. I've just wanted to share this moment that I felt yesterday in the Car cause I did really enjoy it. I will feel it again today lol. Have a nice day everybody.

When you feel the need, please don't (61,886)
by Edward from USA

It's very annoying reading some posts from people who enjoy telling other fans what to post, how to think, what to focus on, it is arrogance at its maximum. As if their post were going to chase anybody away or prevent them from posting what they think. It's been the same for almost 20 years on MCArchives. The beauty of the this board is the fact that there's a wide range of opinions, and that's what makes it interesting. I might not like some opinions here and there, but I appreciate the variety nonetheless. I personally think that when it comes to Mariah, good music just won't do, especially if it is at good as "Infinity" and its respective "Mess-mix". Let's not pretend that Mariah is just like the rest of us because she isn't, she's a celebrity, and when she signed up for fame, she knew what she was getting herself into. People do not respect Mariah because she's drowned her artistry and great catalog in this diva persona that most people hate, and that I can't even defend anymore. Now it is about her weave, boobs, makeup and whatever dress/shoes she's wearing at the moment. Months before TEOM was released, Mariah was being likable again and humble again, and people loved her back to #1. Def Jam worked on building that likable image again, but now she's perceived as arrogant even she might not be that way. Mariah was this artist who would put out her music and then disappeared, then come back again and it was refreshing. Her Butterfly-sexy is way different to the sexy she desperately pushes for on everything she does nowadays.
