Mariah and Beyonce duet (61,681) by Malcolm from Asia
I can't, the news is swirling around and it seems a legit one. Diane Martel who has previously directed 8 music videos for Mariah posted this on her instagram. She revealed that she will be working on "something special" with Mimi and Bey, which can also mean separately. But there is also a prediction from Beyonce's camp last week that there's gonna be a powerhouse artist that will be featured on the deluxe edition of Beyonce's new album Lemonade. And a Beyonce fan account confidently confirmed a while ago that the artist is Mariah. I know, it's hard to expect and hope but what if? Surely, I'm one of the people who will rejoice if the duet will happen and knowing Beyonce's team, the possible MV will be undoubtedly well-crafted. Attention Mimi L.

Mimi and Yonce? (61,680) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So apparently Diane Martel posted on her instagram about working on "something special" with Mariah and Beyonce. I don't know if that's her account or not. But it has been picked up by many of Mariah fan instagrams. I hope this is true, although we have been victims of this same hoax multiple times haha. But hey I am totally here for a Mimi-Yonce collaboration. It is possible that it is for the deluxe edition of Beyonce's album.

Confused (61,679) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I am confused here. I see now that Mariah's voice is working its way back from the sleep zone and throughout this tour she has been giving some of herbbest performances in years now it's time to follow the trends of her so called rival who shall remain nameless as we still don't know her lol. Said person needs those over the elements to mask her mediocre talent. While I would not mind Mariah mixing up the Vegas residency with a different set list I feel adding the extra bells and whistles would hurt Mariah because media already has a perception of her and this would only add fuel to the already existing first of the over the top diva label. So let her voice do the talking a revamp set list yes, maybe some production tweeking but not too much where Mariah becomes lost in it.

That's an interesting photograph. Mariah in front of a mini poster of Madonna. Who would have thought?

Re: (61,672) (61,677) by Andrew from UK
Perhaps I really am "ageist" or just the most cynical person ever. Part of my distaste at the video or Mariah dancing is the type of sexuality she is displaying (as per recent posts) and how Joe Public will view it. But I also think: "You're a 46 year old, with young children. Stop that." Is it so wrong to think that as you get older you are supposed to behave with a little more decorum? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Any accusation with -ist on the end bores me to tears mostly as it's fired by left-wing nut-jobs who like to silence debate. Yet I do accept discrimination can be quite wrong. But when it comes to getting older, you're suppose to change. Imagine a 60 year old doing that. Where's the cut-off point?

Re: Gay icon and advocate (61,654) (61,676) by Andrew from UK
Nobody is doubting that Mariah at times has spoken about gay people in a positive light. However, it is shown that she always tries to move it into a broader spectrum and remain politically as neutral as possible. Thus, an award for "tirelessly working" to advance the gay movement is quite far off the mark and genuinely confusing. But it doesn't mean he hates the gays so people should stop getting tetchy from the off. I do wish some people here would read the actual posts before thinking they get the gist and responding to something else. It happens a lot. Mariah likes gays? Probably. Is Mariah deserving of a pseudo-political award for working tirelessly to advance the gay movement? Probably not. Meanwhile, back at the ranch...

Show revamp (61,675) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am here for a show revamp. First of all the set list needs a change. She should not limit herself to #1's and instead mix up popular up tempos and ballads. I also like JLo's stage, I hope Mariah can bring on a catwalk and that B-stage situation. Plus good Lord it's Vegas can we already get some over the top costumes already? Yes Mariah just needs her voice to hold the audience's attention but it doesn't hurt to add in other elements to boost the show's overall entertainment factor.

Re: (61,670) (61,674) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
There is nothing wrong with her enjoying herself, she can really do anything she wants in her private life. What is weird is that these are put out on social media for "public consumption" like RJJ12 said.

Re: (61,669) (61,673) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ugh these are the videos I was talking about a while back that these make me cringe so hard. There are a few more out there. There is another one where she is so busy dancing, one of her, well girls, kinda peak out from under her dress and she doesn't even realize it but Bryan gets in front of her and you can see him telling her to cover it and she covers it. I don't understand why she lets her dancers upload these on social media.

Please do go into why, not seeing what the problem is with Mariah having some fun, dancing etc.

Hold up, wait a minute (61,671) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Yuck at the notion that Mariah should copy anything that JLo is doing. Like how insulting. I mean that intro was cute and necessary for a JLo. However, when you have a standout voice like Mariah's (and a classic catalogue), then there's no need for a bunch of special effects, pyrotechnics, magic tricks, or a minute long booty jiggle to mask your mediocre (at best) "talent". Grant it Mariah could stand to step up the production a bit, and get more comfortable with her movements (which she has been doing in Europe), but as long as that voice is working I'm good because thats the main attraction as far as I'm concerned. As far as the GLADD awards. I say why are you all protesting so hard? Are we gonna act like she didn't have those three obviously gay backup singer when she first came on the scene that she absolutely adored, or that her music (directly or indirectly) didn't save the lives of many gay men and women across America, or that she hasn't supported charities for gay community or that "One Sweet Day" wasn't written for David Cole etc. Ask B. Scott if Mariah has been nothing but super supportive of her during the hardships of being transgender. Come on folks. Mariah is naturally supportive of the gay community and always has been. Just because she's not exactly a politician about it doesn't make her impact any less positive. And to the person that implied that her writing and singing gospel tunes (being Christian) mean she's not really down wit the gays; know that someone being pro God doesn't automatically mean that they're anti gay or take any issue with it. Now I'm gonna need all you all to act like you know better.

GLAAD award (61,668) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
GLAAD winners are not necessarily advocates. They can be just supportive of gay rights. Now while that pretty much broadens the potential awardees to the point that it includes everyone of us here and at least an eighth of the entire global population, we aren't exactly renowned or in the media, are we? She may not be an advocate in the truest sense of the word, and in comparison to other personalities her actions may seem small, maybe even insignificant, but just because someone isn't as open or as loud doesn't mean she isn't doing anything. If you really think about it, it isn't really that farfetched for her to be given such award. If Mariah suddenly won an environmental honor, now that (caps) would qualify as bizarre.

I do not enjoy J.Lo's voice one bit. Therefor the visual spectacle entertains, but not all night.

Vegas show (61,666) by Malcolm from Asia
I do agree, Mariah must revamp her show. With what's happening with her voice, it's better to put all the effort and elements aligned for a fantastic show. Wish she will have a runway style of stage to have more connection between her and the audience. She can do one pure acoustic number, it will be so much good to hear. Drop the "exclusive for #1's only" show, 1 year is enough to inform the public that she have 18 #1 hits and "that's something that nobody else has". It is good for her and the people who will come to the show if she will mix up the set list now and then because there are really like few of her #1's that the general audience wants to hear everytime like Emotions, ABMB, WBT, Hero. TGIFY, IDWC, Someday, DFAU for me are her most unpopular #1's, it's like the casual audience doesn't care if these songs will not be in the show. It will also be great if she will perform 2-3 songs from the Chanteuse or Memoirs album, it can help rebuilding and freshen up her image and signify the present Mariah. Because the problem with the #1's is the audience wants to hear exactly what she sounded in the studio version and will not be satisfied or will be in awe if it is not. If she will sing Faded, Betcha Gon Know, #Beautiful, or even Almost Home, they can have new perception for her and they will appreciate the voice more and will no longer be concentrated with "where is the 90's Mariah?", "she cannot sing like she used to", "she can't sing" stuff. They will be into the emotions and vibes and not into the critique side of it. Come through Mariah

A much needed change to keep the show fresh. Now if we could get a faded acoustic.

Mariah a gay icon (61,663) by Giovanni from USA
I don't consider Mariah a gay icon at all. She's never saluted or defended them. I know she loves all her fans regardless but she does not represent the gay community in any way. At least to me. She's Mariah the singer, music artist and music legend. Not Mariah the gay activist, fights for gay rights, raises the rainbow flag gay icon.

Vegas revamp / J Lo's show (61,659) by 123 from USA
Now that Mariah has started to put effort into her performances, I need her Vegas show to be revamped. Stella, please read, take notes, and implement. So I just wanted JLo's intro to her show and it is no joke. I saw another performance for one of her other songs and the performance was great. Mostly because it looks like they have put more money into the production of her show. Mariah doesn't have to be a dancer to execute this type of production. JLo isn't doing much dancing, her dancers are doing most of the work, her movements are just more carefully choreographed. When I sent to her show last summer, my friend was like "Why is she so frozen, and why do her dancers keep treating her like she has to move like an old lady?" I told him about her injury but he reminded me that they did this before that. I had no response. I need Mariah on a pegasus flying across the stage while she sings a ballad, I need her to interact more with the dancers, I need more special effects. It's obvious that they're two different shows, Mariah's being ballad heavy as she is tied to having to sing only her #1s. I need her to do more than stand there during her uptempos. Stella, watch JLo's show and make Mariah's that much better. P.S. Mariah also needs an updated promo reel of her show, preferrably using clips from the latest tour where she is in shape and sounding great.

Vegas show updated? (61,658) by Dustbin from USA
I bought my tickets. Front orchestra. I hope Mariah updates the show a bit. Usually performers change the show up a bit between breaks, I hope this is the case for MC. I don't care, obviously because I bought my tickets. I would just like a slight switch up with outfits. Set design. And maybe slip in a few surprises. The tour has been going well. I hope she mirrors some of the success in her Vegas show. Vegas would be the perfect controlled environment to showcase her voice as it's been delightful lately. Sing girl.

Re: Gay icon and advocate (61,654) (61,656) by Dustbin from USA
I agree with Ryan and Gilles. Mariah has shown much support. As a gay male myself, I haven't supported the community nearly as much as Mariah. To say she doesn't deserve this award is crazy. Mariah isn't Cher, Gaga, or Madonna. So don't dog her because she hasn't stood up on a soap box. To say she doesn't deserve this is just silly. Mariah: "But my boobs have been out for years." [...] said.
