In awe with Mariah's current vocals (59,535) by May from Denmark
Just saw some of the compilations going around right now in Youtube, obviously right now they are more like previews but I'm so amazed I feel like I'm going to explode. Her vocals were amazing, she sounded the best I ever heard her and those clips were just snippets, I truly would love to watch the whole concert. That note at the end of Infinity made me smile so big. I'm truly longing for a new album right now. I can't wait to listen to that tour.

The weaves / outfits / music (59,534) by Malcolm from Asia
In all fairness the weaves are much better compared to last year except for the curly one but they can fix it along the way. The gowns are to die for dahling , the wetsuit outfit is so hot, I just wish she wears a wig like in the Honey MV to complete the ensemble. Please surprise us with a phenomenal album this year, single-release with a bang and well crafted music videos, now I'm thirsty for new music. So much love for you Mimi.

Take back music (59,533) by Tevin from USA
I can't believe with the new rules Rihanna can sell only 460 copies of her album and give away 100,000 downloads and be platinum. They said she might beat out Adele next week which isn't far because Adele actually sold a ton of albums.

Ian Drews cover of Never Forget You (59,531) by Ian from United Kingdom
It's actually quite sweet, I don't usually care for Mariah covers but you can tell he loves the song and that makes it work.

Ian Drews cover of Never Forget You (59,530) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
This kid is a star in the making. Mark my words. The tone, the confidence and musicality it takes to successfully cover Mariah at her best is a revelation. He's fucking brilliant the way he took on NFY, even though he was very loyal to Mariah's arrangements, but still managed to sound interesting from start to finish. I actually closed my eyes to savour it. Vibrato, so soothing and mature. He doesn't sound like anyone on the radio right now and I love it. He looks really young but that voice is gonna make grown women's panties drop. I.D. I'm like obsessed with his YouTube channel now. He's a a lamb and I wanna marry him so he can sing to me all day everyday, all night. Dibs. Excuse me while I eye wedding dresses and pick out china patterns, and don't worry MiMi, you and James are of course invited to Ian and I's celebratory union.

New dresses (59,528) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Absolutely love this golden dress. She looks straight out of 2005 here. This other glittering dress she wore, I am not a big fan of it, but I guess for a Vegas show it might have looked great on stage and again she just looks so TEOM era here. This is her other new dress. So far no news on the "the fish ate Mariah" dress so I am guessing it has been banished.

Re: Mimi L. (59,520) (59,527) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Hey G. So here's my thought. I feel like more than "who" should direct the video, what is lacking in Mariah videos nowadays is a good story line, creativity and budget. For a great video, she doesn't really need to go far from great directors she has already worked with but because of the lack of creativity, story line and budget, she just resorts to touching herself through out the video like YM(E), which could have been a great video because the visuals were stunning (the forest scenes of her near the water and her underwater shots) but it lacks in a story. Is Mariah a fairy? Is she a mermaid? Is she someone who uses glitter excessively and hence left behind a crap load of it on Trey's bed after a night together? We don't know. Why get Trey in the video if you don't have a single scene together? They could have done a great modern twist on "The Little Mermaid" for the video (which I think they were trying) but failed and all we got was Mariah holding her boobs throughout the video. Now look at "#Beautiful" There is no doubt Mariah looked the hottest she has in years, in that video, but that's about it. There is no story and it looks like a photo shoot "behind the scenes" moment. This video was directed by Joseph Kahn, and Joseph is a great, and worked with Taylor on all her videos from 1989. But the difference between his work with MC and Tay is the budget and story. I absolutely loved what he did with "Blank Space" and "Wildest Dreams". Then Brett Ratner. I was so excited when I heard he will direct the "Infinity" video because all their previous collaborations have been awesome. But again, it lacked creativity and a story. What could have been a funny moment with the 3 cameos, where just given a back seat and we just got weird shots of her bouncing in her closet and the unnecessary "sofa - Match.com" moment. So those are my thoughts, but if I were to name names, I would say she doesn't have to look far from people she already worked with. Joseph Kahn, Paul Hunter (honey and DFAU), Jake Nava (SIO and GYN, he also has done a lot of great videos for Beyonce, Britney, Kanye), Brett Ratner (but this time no stupid story line) and Chris Robinson (who worked on Li'l L.O.V.E. and IKWYW) and Hype Williams. I don't know if I could express myself properly, but I hope you got what I meant.

"Touch my body" was amazing, that was after DFAU. Then the worst Nick budget video has to be "Bye bye".

Re: Marissa (59,519) Re: Giovanni (59,520) (59,524) by May from Denmark
I think she keeps playing the diva-esque stuff because, at least my impression, can't imagine the many times she gets asked the very same thing. It must be tiresome and the whole diva act just simply come out as habit. I think she is funny when she jokes around the rumors, can understand sometimes it might be hard to just ignore them and move on, overall when they got some radio interviewers who keep pushing for a sentence.
I'm not an expert in directors at all but I have to say that I loved very much the videos "Say something" and "Can I get your number". I love all the styles Mariah has in both videos. I would like to see something like that again. I truly hoped for a Meteorite video and having some night beach clubbing scene.

Re: David G from USA (59,518) (59,523) by May from Denmark
I don't believe I was rude Giovanni. I simply also think that his comment was idiotic. Believes don't have to be respected as they are just ideologies, people should be respected as they are sentient beings. I didn't attack him directly but I clearly expressed that I think he needs to be more rational, perhaps I wanted to say it in a funny way and it may have sounded harsh but I stand by what I said. I found his comment silly. If he chooses to feel offended because of that, then so be it. I do also hope he sticks around as well as anyone reading because what we all share in here (regardless of our differences) is a big love for Mariah. But that won't stop me from disagreeing with someone and expressing it.

Re: I love Rihanna (59,515) (59,522) by May from Denmark
David G, you are a very contradictive person. First to clear the air, I got to say I rolled my eyes with your comment regarding the "music industry" and you sending them my post, because people in the "music industry" are going to care about my comment, a comment in a sea of billions done in the internet daily. To follow, I'm not hostile, I'm straightforward. You said that none of what you said were your opinions yet in the previous post you claimed that you are entitled to express your opinions. So are they your opinions or not? You claimed to have referenced them, there's zero references attached or named to any of the things you said. I don't need to grow up, I'm an already grown up and who are you to say that I need to learn lessons? Do you know my life history? No. You are a stranger who knows nothing about me and I most definitely don't know anything about you except that when you say things such as (and I quote you) "It is a pity because talented legends like Mariah will have to work extra hard because she is not a member of the Illuminati." I find it really hard to take any of your opinions serious at all. Of course you can say whatever bollocks you want, it is your right, but is my right also to disagree with them and think they are silly. And I expressed that in my comment that yes, I found to be utterly clever.

So right. I seriously doubt that Beyonce will be very pleased with Jay helping another female artist get bigger than her.

I wanted to ask who would you want to direct Mariah's next video? There's no denying that Mariah's videos have gone down hill since "Don't forget about us". So I'm hoping her next will be as good as "Heartbreaker", "It's like that", "Beautiful". Okay maybe not "Beautiful", but I can't help but love it. Mariah looks like a cougar in that video.

Re: Mariah being seen and not heard (59,495) (59,519) by Marissa from USA
I don't think Mariah would have time to breathe if she clapped back at every rumor about her. She would be in a constant state of stress. No matter how many times you try to set the record straight there will always be people talking shit about you. My only issue with how she handles it is that she always plays into the rumors instead of distancing herself from them. The predictable "oh dahlings" and other diva-isms are played out and boring. Her team is the only one that finds it amusing, and they're just laughing for a check. The GP also never understands or finds it funny when she's joking about her diva antics, so for her image the best thing to do is hang it up and be candid. If they see a headline saying, "Mariah thinks her ring is too small" even if she is joking in the video and eventually is candid, people won't even tune in because the headline sounds like another stereotypical Mariah antic. As long as she leads with the diva persona the general opinion about her will never change. I wish more people knew "The Lost Interview" from '99 Mariah.

I respect your beliefs and see where you're coming from. Though I don't believe in the Illuminati, I do believe there are some evil people in the industry who use others just for the sake of money. In an interview with the legendary Chaka Chan, she herself said the industry is demonic. She did not sell herself out like some of these lesser individuals just to be on top and to be in the spot light 24/7. The same can be said about Mariah. She never resorts to stunts or gimmicks to stay relevant. She just uses her amazing talent. Pay no mind to May or MIAM. They both were rude to you for only stating your opinion. I hope Eric posts this message and that you stick around. As long as it's Mariah related. We need all the fans we get here on the board.

I have to say, I didn't read too much of your post but, I read enough to realise that u don't really understand reality. From when you're talking about Illuminati, you are away with the fairies. The Illuminati is as real as Santa Claus is, so anything you have to say after you have mentioned that is irrelevant, sorry.

Re: I love Rihanna (59,508) (59,515) by David G from USA
No, no, no. You are getting me wrong. I did not say that those were my opinions but rather, I referenced them. All of that information is public knowledge available on the Internet. Firstly, there are no rules on your website stating that one cannot make comments on the Illuminati. If you really had sensitivity issues with that then you should have blocked my post. Instead you posted it and called me an idiot. Even though this is your website, you have absolute control and a responsibility to manage the content according to certain criterias. You had no right to call me an idiot being the webmaster. You suppossed to set an example and just know that not only fans of the artist come to websites like yours but industry people too. I was instructed to research responses from fans on various topics for different artists and I am disgusted with your response. As for May from Denmark, I find myself in disbelief that you could be a fan of Mariah stating how things are done in Europe. I have sent a link to both your posts to key strategic people in the music industry and if this is how people on Europe behave and think then this creates a bad impression and Mariah Carey needs to know about this before she goes on tour to their respective countries. I will never use this fans site as a point of reference for any further research as the European people are being very hostile and now I have my answer. I also read the back posts and realized that you were rude to other people as well. Being the webmaster does not give you the right to bully people or call names. It is self reflective of what's going on inside. As for May, you need to grow up and you have alot of lessons to learn in life. People should not be slandered for stating their opinions that are public knowledge. You thought that your reply was clever when in fact, certain music industry people who I sent your reply to think that you are [censored] and a [censored]. I will not come back to read any replies to this site so don't bother replying as I got my answer and formulated my opinion on certain Mariah Carey fans (not all) based on their replies.

Love Yourself (59,514) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Justin replaced himself at #1 on the hot 100 chart. He was at the top with his song "Sorry" and now he replaced himself with "Love yourself". This is third single going to #1 from this album. Even more heartbreak for me for the lost opportunity that the MC-Justin collaboration could have had (no, I am not endorsing "Why You Mad" but if they had polished it up and lost the rappers, it could have been good). We need another collaboration.

Mariah doesn't have to prove anything (59,513) by Ardis Logic from Earth
In my opinion, Mariah is in a place in her life where she is happy and comfortable. She does what she likes to do, and has had success that most artist can only dream about. Why should she have to defend herself? If people are ignorant enough to believe the lies that the media puts out, thats their problem, not Mariah's. I think she is tired of always fighting against these stupid media stories, and she has learned over time to just let it go. They are going to continue to publish bogus false claims to get people to buy their stupid magazines. She knows her real and true devoted fans will not believe such rubbish, and we will always be here for her, showing our undying love and support.

Re: Negative press, artist success and more (59,512) by Billy from Greece
Regarding the discussions about Mariah getting a bad rap for the past, probably, 10 years and her mismanagement of her own image, all I can say is that it's not a "one plus one equals two" situation. The way that ownership of the media in America and around the world functions is very intricate, and many outlets are interrelated and interdependent. As far as the music business is concerned, the success or failure of an artist will impact not just the artist and their label, but a whole other line of sponsors and corporations attached to them. In this sense, there is a conscious effort to see certain artists succeed at certain points in time. It, then, all comes down to connections and alliances. The public does have a power to form cultural happenings, but on the basis of the products they are presented with. The reason why Mariah or some other artists may be more trashed in the media is because they may not have the access, through their collaborators, to those channels that control certain aspects of the press. Why do you think Beyonce is so successful (especially with the Grammys) for the past decade and has such coverage, positive for the most part? It all has to do with deals between Sony and CBS (which is the main network of the Grammys since the 70s) and the NARAS board. This is just an example. Mariah enjoyed that privilege in the 1990s, but after she basically became a free agent (just like Diana Ross in the 1980s) she lost part of the corporate intervention. That's why, after Def Jam, she started forming alliances with L.A. Reid, for instance, or BET and its president etc. In Hollywood, the press agents were always on top of managing or even determining the success ratio of a star. Make no mistake though: Mariah is a very smart business woman too, so don't feel like she has been left behind in terms of deals.

Re: Hashtag-riah (59,490) (59,511) by Malcolm from Asia
Yeah. I don't understand why she handed her social media accounts with Stella like that. She is Mariah Carey for God's sake, she must be handled with class come on and hashtags are not necessary. Please don't make MC's accounts like yours, I appreciate what you've done with Mariah's image but I'm begging you to please leave her social media accounts alone. Find someone who is knowledgeable with that matter.

Re: I love Rihanna (59,498) (59,510) by May from Denmark
I personally don't hate Rihanna, but I don't agree that she is a "singer" with every meaning of the word. She only sounds good in her albums, as a studio singer. Live she sounds horrible. Her new song doesn't really sound new to me, it sounds like the music the group Mew has been doing since years, I even thought that it was them who wrote the song for her and had to check out as the style was very alike. I don't think it has potential for a number 1 but I wouldn't be surprise if it reaches number 1. People like to consume Rihanna for some reason, I don't know if it's all the hype around what things she says or does. Some of her songs are decent but not memorable, most of her music can be put away. She has "catchy" tunes, which is a different thing and lots of her videos are over sexualized. She is not my cup of tea but I can understand why people feel attracted to what she sings. I don't mind her at all getting her number 1s but I would find it unfair that she might share the same spot as Mariah nonetheless because Mariah wrote most of her songs and is a true singer. We will see what happens in the future but like it was said, records are meant to be broken. I don't believe the Beatles will be there at top forever, someone one day will beat them. It's all about time.

Well, this is his website, if he wants to call you that way he can. Rude much? Talking about freedom, guess what, here in Europe we have the freedom to call idiot to those who make idiotic comments. "Lack of knowledge", don't get me started in telling what's lacking with you. Please put the tin foil down and take a "common sense" pill to get your rationality back. There's no need to "research" for that, it's all bogus and stuff that dumb people came up with because is too hard for them to think (is there even a PhD in Illuminati history lol or is your main source whatever any dumbdoh uploads on YouTube). Because something is in the internet it doesn't mean is true man. Next thing you will say is how bleach cures cancer, moon landing was fake, chemtrails over your house, Obama is a reptile alien and how we should "research" in Google about all this "facts". Let me guess, you are an avid homeopathy user because of evil BigPharma poisoning you. Oh, I'm so scared for this world.

You're implying that Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z are controlled by the Illuminati (and therefore they are evil) and that the Illuminati killed Whitney and Michael Jackson. Sure I will call you an idiot if you write messages like these.

It's the first time that I have come across your site and hence, I posted a message, not knowing about previous discussions. I think that as a webmaster, you are rude and uncoth to use words like "idiot". In America, we have freedom of speech and we are entitled to express our opinions. You have no manners webmaster and come across as unprofessional. There are better ways of conveying a message that's more civilized.
