Sending love and strength to Celine (59,136) by Ardis Logic from Earth
I just read that her brother has now passed from cancer. I can't even begin to imagine how heartbroken she must be. If we could all send her our love and prayers of strength to be with her and her family at this very difficult time. She is such a lovely and beautiful person, what can you say about something like this? It's so sad.

Has Mariah peaked with AIWFCIY? (59,135) by Kate from UK
Legendary artists always seem to have a back catalogue that is respected by the public, but I never get the impression Mariah's is respected. I think it's because AIWFCIY really transcends everything, its reach just so massive and people just don't care about any other hits. It's as if she's a one hit wonder with that song and she doesn't have 18 number ones. This is from a UK perspective, so and I would love to hear your thoughts from the UK and around the world.

Mixtape (59,134) by 123 from USA
You know, if Mariah doesn't plan to put the songs that didn't make the last album on another project, I wouldn't mind her releasing them as a mixtape for the fans, just to hold me over.

Re: Andrew possessed by the spirit of a positive lamb? (59,113) (59,133) by May from Denmark
I actually believe Mariah has been like that since a very good while Andrew. Her songs mentioning brands and the likes in her lyrics pretty much said so, flashing the outrageously expensive drinks she sips. She just wasn't the typical celeb show off with her clothes, she would just mention the designer of a dress on a carpet because it is part of the endorsement/sponsorship. Beyond the whole "life in the jet" she has never really been one to show more but I recall a Twitter she posted saying something about her living a very luxurious life, it was a very long time ago. I do think that lately there's more of her shopping lifestyle simply because that's what trending and what people are consuming from their idols and other celebrities. If anything, I think she is just jumping in the wagon to see how it goes. I think it's fine, she lived all her fame and luxury under wraps all her youth, with few parties (compared to other singers) and keeping a very low profile for years. All we had from her luxurious life when she was younger was mostly her touring times and the MTV Cribs in which she didn't even show her bedroom, it was showcased years later in a magazine. I guess with the years she learnt to embrace her rich life and accept it as it is, she owes nothing to anyone, for a long time she kept herself private. She is sharing some more of her and I think it's fine, even if it includes her shopping habits, which I believe she has all the right. And at the end, it was us with our money (and the overpaid industry lol) who made her rich.

I don't wanna come across as an attack but what's the problem with showing the life she lives? All we see are pictures and little clips so I'm not sure "flaunting" is an accurate word. And again, when you've worked like she has what's the issue with showing people what you've done? Also, do you understand how public performances for those kind of events work? She's not gonna do a deep album cut at a gala or event that's not a setting with the fans. That doesn't make sense. Of course she's gonna do Hero, Emotions, ABMB, WBT, TMB, Shake It Off etc. That's what the public knows as her most recognizable songs. Also, acting like the music she put out recently isn't good is not true. Are we gonna forget that Me. I am Mariah happened? Forget the lack of commercial success. Forget the messy era. But that album was stellar. I understand we all get frustrated, but I also feel like we get in the mindset that every single move she makes is either a step forward or a step back. That's not the case. She's a woman, mother, and star. Just let her live her life.

Re: Mariah on Empire (59,116) (59,131) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Mariah wants to them to write in a character for her but Lee Daniels wants her to play herself. Until this is resolved you won't see Mariah on Empire. Fingers crossed that Lee puts some faith in Mariah's acting chops.

All my prayers (59,130) by darrian liu from taiwan
She's going through a very tough time right now. She had just lost possibly the love of her life and now she's losing her brother as well. I hope she can make it though the storm. All my prayers for Celine.

Devastated for Celine (59,129) by Marissa from USA
I am so sad for Celine's loss. You could always tell that she was deeply in love with Rene and truly was a family woman. May God always heal her and her children's hearts. I think Mariah's message was very kind and it's obvious that Stella didn't have her hand in this one.

Celine and Mariah (59,127) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
People can have different approaches to the same thing (Diva's Live '98) and still be friends. Hopefully Mariah's recent Facebook post to Celine (not to mention Celine's support around Mariah's pregnancy) demonstrates to the public and the fans that there is no diva feud just because they happen to work in the same industry.

"Everyday" is over exaggerating. I had trouble logging in numerous times and I also couldn't get rid of my avatar pic. So this should be the last time making an account. Not that it should matter.

Mariah / Celine (59,125) by safe from jamaica
It feels so sad to see Celine pass through this hard times, I pray for her and her family to be comforted. It's also nice to see Mariah post such a heart touching message to her friend Celine in her trying times. I will love to have Mariah and Celine give the world the timeless duet we've all been waiting for. RIP Rene.

Mimi L. / new album (59,123) by Giovanni from USA
Excellent post dahling, haha. I hope Mariah gets things right this time too. No more silly singles or delays. The next song has to be a smash. Not necessarily on Billboard. But one that everyone will like. It should be on the same league as "Heartbreaker", "It's like that" or "Beautiful". [Webmaster: Would you stop making new accounts almost every day?]

May God give Celine strength (59,117) by Blue Riding Hood from Outside
I can't fathom how hard it must be for Celine now. Losing her husband was hard, but to lose her brother would be even more devastating. This year has not been kind to her at all, from her "Hello" cover getting panned to losing her loved ones. I hope she can find the courage and push through. Like Mariah said on her Facebook post, we can't bring her loved ones back, but we can pray for her. My heartfelt condolences to her.

Mariah on Empire (59,116) by Philipp from Switzerland
I wonder if Mariah is still appearing on Empire. Season 2 returns in March I think and I read that it just go renewed for a third season. Has anyone heard/read about Mariah being on the show recently?

Mariah / Michael Bolton on Twitter (59,114) by Martyn from England, UK
Does anybody else find it a bit weird that Mariah doesn't follow Michael Bolton on Twitter? I'm not suggesting she's being shady in any way, but I thought they were friends. She replied to his tweet once, so she must know he has twitter, I just find it a little odd she doesn't follow him. It also really upsets me that she never replied to his question about them doing a duet together. I'm hoping that she just didn't see it, but I know with verified accounts you can look at tweets that only other verified accounts have sent to you so it seems unlikely that she'll have missed it. Weird. I'm still praying it will happen anyway.

Re: Andrew possessed by the spirit of a positive lamb? (59,108) (59,113) by Andrew from UK
Adam, I don't want to agree with your comments but I am leaning that way. I just don't get this ball gown, dolled up, diamonds, riches etc etc image. Is it meant to give her status? I find it totally un-relatable and not the Mariah I thought I knew. But people change. Mariah in trousers (pants, to those who don't speak English properly) and cute tops is one of the people. The girl-next-door became the woman who made it. It's her money so fair enough. Again, I'm ambivalent. The shocking Hallmark vanity close-ups don't help. It makes her seem even more detached and I'm not sure how the public is supposed to relate to it. Adele (sorry for swearing) is one of the people and she sells because of it. I know Americans respect success more so than the British so that may have something to do with it, in a cultural sense. I don't know, I genuinely don't know. I'm not hating on this. I'm just confused by it. I can't listen to the Close My Eyes type woeful songs and believe them when I see a woman clothed in riches and flaunting a ridiculous lifestyle as a public persona thing. Maybe I'm wrong. Again, I don't know on this one. Did I say "I don't know" enough? I don't know. And really sad about Celine's (swearing again) [censored] dying. Genuinely sad. Brave courageous woman. I hope Mariah called her. I am sure she did. Rather that than a pointless tweet. Every tweet makes a twat. Much love.

Making the haters look foolish (59,110) by Ardis Logic from Earth
In the last couple of years, you could say Mariah hit rock bottom. Crying on stage, struggling with her voice and her weight, and a heartbreaking divorce. So many people enjoyed pushing her down even more at this time, including her own brother, but take a look at her now. She is shining like the golden goddess she has always been. She is so inspiring, and I am so proud of how far she has come. The future looks as bright has her priceless smile. I am so excited for the future, new music, new projects, what ever it maybe. As long as she gives us her true self, it doesn't matter to me if she ever gets another #1 ever again. I love her just the way she is now. The past is over and done, it's really not fair to keep comparing the current MC to the "classic" MC. She has evolved, the best thing to do (in my opinion) is to accept her for who she is now at this moment, and just let it be what it is, and at the moment she is as fabulous as it gets. Peace and love to all. Have a beautiful day.

Re: Andrew possessed by the spirit of a positive lamb? (59,100) (59,108) by ADAM from USA
I agree with your comments. While I will still watch and root for Mariah to succeed if she puts out quality music, I currently feel she still does not have that spark or drive she had from her periods in her life. I'm not expecting the same drive as when she came on the scene in 1990, but I feel like she is phoning it in with the least amount of effort. I am quite surprised that the Mariah today is the same woman who said repetedly that she wouldn't sell out and that her music was her saving grace. This image she's created and perpetuates of being out of touch and uberly wealthy and flaunting her billionaire boyfriend is really quite the detour. It just feels like she's really sold her integrity. In short, I think she's amazingly talented and I'm appreciative of her back catalog of music that's she's left us for a lifetime but at the same time I feel like she's just cashing out on her fans for more money when she no longer puts out a quality product. This includes her robotic lip sync Vegas shows and inability to change her setlist whenever she performs elsewhere.

My condolences to Celine, her husband passed. She always said nice things about MC. Her biggest competitor could leave Mariah more shows to perform this year.
