Re: Macau / Bill, Adele? (57,543) (57,549)

Exclusively talking about Adele on another fan forum not about Adele? What? I am confused? How about a big fat no. I am sorry. We can definitely talk about both of them, seeing how this is a Mariah Carey post. Just because you live in the U.K. and Adele is dominating WW, this is still a Mariah Carey post. Sorry for my bluntness. Mariah is finally grabbing great attention from all sides and you bring up an Adele deflect at the wrong time. [...] This should not be a problem. It's courtesy to all fans and honestly common sense when trying to be respectful to others. All I am saying is, there is a time and place for comments like that. Completely unnecessary. Adele and a Mariah Carey mix of conversation, will do just fine. I welcome that. I love both Mariah Carey and Adele. Hello is an amazing song and I just downloaded it on my phone from Google Play. I also love Mariah Carey's commitment to expanding her brand lately. Going back now to read and study for my CDL test at my new job. Love you lamb.

Wow. I am beyond impressed with Mariah's performance in Macau. I expected this to be one of those performances where she just kinda half asses it to get it over with. Boy was I wrong. Mariah sounded amazing. Her voice was lighter, clearer, and there was no sign of strain whatsoever. I hope she's recording with this voice.

Mariah's performance in Macau snatched me bald. Period. Her voice sounded robust, well-rested and I heard no straining. Whatever she's doing now, it's working. I'm so proud.

I believe it's Emotions, Always Be My Baby, TMB, and WBT at the concert venue. Then Hero at the gala dinner where she wore a stunning glittering dress. I personally think she should've wore that on the red carpet rather than the basic shoelace dress.

It's amazing. Clear vocals, brighter tone (which means her voice is getting healthier) and control. Too bad that in Emotions and Hero, she didn't really let her voice rip. Always Be My Baby was a highlight, such confidence. She even added belts here and there. Whatever you're doing to help your voice, Mariah, keep on doing that. After all, 2005 vocals isn't that far away now.

I think she did fabulous. Check out the user's profile to see all the other clips. I guess it was an all black night for her to wear 3, possibly 4 black gowns. I love the photo of her with Packer, she looks so wifey there supporting her man.

Despite all the dresses being black, the outfits were beautiful. Mariah put on such a great performance, the voice is coming back and improving. I wish I could get the VOL performance in full. I think Mariah got screwed over on pay though. Leo, Di Niro, and Brad Pitt all get 10 million each for a 16 minute movie while Mariah gives James a coupon and puts on a whole concert for half a million? While MC toured China last year she made over 1 million per concert. Well, anyway, work those vocals, girl.

Pop radio sucks (57,531)
by Jono from USA
| |

I miss hearing Mariah on the radio, but I know that's because pop stations are afraid to play any female artists over the age of 40. Meanwhile you have that [censored] singer (if you can even call her that) Selena Gomez all over the airwaves with her [censored] songs and voice. Mariah could outsing her vocal range just by talking.

Oz and May (57,527)
by Lee TS from USA
| |
|
|
Thank you for posting about the box office numbers and explaining about the Oz success. I, too, took a look at the numbers and felt the same way seeing the monumental money it took to make Oz. I definitely agree about the cultural impact and Disney expectations. Like you mentioned, the best example would be Frozen. Everybody and their mama knows Frozen and Let It Go. M chose the wrong movie to sing for I suppose. I mean, are they still creating or was a sequel ever considered for Oz? If so maybe M can sing the tune "Finally Home". Great to see M and Packer doing red carpets together, but I'm glad she didn't walk for Pan. Oops. And with these remakes they're heavily banking on nostalgia, I did like Oz from what I can remember but Pan was a snooze fest. Even Hugh Jackman couldn't save it for me. Mariah, do whatever you can to get yourself a small role in Finding Dory. Play a pink fish or something. And the way Ellen looks at you, do more of the dabbing and hum a little tune while you're at it. Go borrow another suit.

Mariah on Empire (57,526)
by Marissa from USA
| |
|

I wish Mariah would have guest starred on Empire during the first season when it felt more authentic. This season's celebrity guest appearances have been corny as hell. I hope MC is cast as a recurring character rather than playing herself. I want this to be another opportunity to show off her acting chops on a mainstream level.

The point is that calling Oz a flop is not technically correct. Yes, public reception and accolades are also signs of a good movie, but it commercially it was not a flop. Glitter was a flop. It's sad but true. The numbers were in the red for that movie.

Saying Hello with the same message (57,524)
by Tijl from Belgium
| |
|
|
Hello Lambily. The world seemed to have gone in a craze over Adele's latest little effort. It is a nice song indeed, however I seems very reminiscent of her previous work. It does show that Adele has a connection with the audience in her image. As she sticks with her blue collar background, people tend to see her as genuine. Smart move. I believe that Mariah has delivered some of the best work in her career in the last years but has clearly lost some credibility with her diva-esque antics. I love her and totally connect with her goofy personality but the world clearly doesn't. Maybe she should cut back on the image and focus on the music more. A reinvention with a new look. I would love to see her being the prominent godess of pop again. I have seen a lot of videos and interviews from the Rainbow and Emancipation era and she was fabulous, very glamorous yet focused and not rambling through interviews. Come back baby because you belong up there.
