I didn't write the post with anyone in mind. I just feel people who post should be more objective. They sometimes sound like they are the Pope or the President. They think all lambs should feel exactly how they feel.

This brought back memories. I used to play CB also at the gas station I worked. The manager, some crazy lady, would tell me "There she goes, screaming again." I didn't care what the manager, customers, or coworkers thought. I played Mariah all the time.

I love all of her music. I love MIAMTEC and Infinity. I just think she needs a new stylist and glam squad. I also think she needs new collaborators and producers. Happy Perez and Miguel would be excellent songwriting partners for her. Mark Ronson would be an excellent producer for her to work with. I'm thrilled she's writing with Diane Warren again.

Isn't it a bliss to you right now? (56,190)

So the best article in years about Mariah's legacy and unrecognized contribution to pop music has come out. Finally, a write-up not about her clothes, her makeup, her hair, her billionaire boyfriend, or whatnot, but about her as an artist, a songwriter, a vocalist. An article that doesn't shy away from talking about her enduring, rarely talked about influence in music. She is never ever recognized for her incredible artistry. And whew, we have this. And yet all these fans are still mewling about her clothes? Like we're still in 1997? Pathetic. And you're asking her to grow up and "mature"? And the arrogance and "expertise" of some. She likes to expose her cleavage. Get over it. It's okay. It's not a big deal. Think about your life for once. I have read this article about the skimpy crazy clothes pop stars wear at MTV Awards or something. Mariah was in the list. It was 1997. Guess what, her dress was the classiest thing in that list. She looked marvelous, the others horrendous to say the least. It's not uncool to talk about good stuff for once. Or twice.

Baby, I also applaude Mariah for telling off the smokers in the audience in Israel. She's Mariah Carey. She is The Voice. If she had any vocal issues it was probably caused because of how sensitive her voice is to cigarette smoke. Baby, I've missed you. Oh Baby, I've got a dependency. Always longing for another taste of your honey.

*side stepping all the drama* Mariah looks absolutely flawless in this picture. Love the hair, the whole effortless curls thing. Her makeup is on point, she looks so fresh. She's just gorgeous.

Mariah, the poster child for anti-smoking? (56,185)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

She really is. She used to be a smoker until that time she lost her voice at 18 and swore to God if she got it back she'd never smoke again. And the rest is musical history. Imagine the taglines: I quit smoking and gained a five octave range. Stellar, built-in marketing. Remember this? MC: That's right Usher, don't be blowing no smoke in my face [censored]. Also, she could front throat lozenges and tea (from Starbucks of course). Anyway, I applaude Mariah for telling off the smokers in the audience the other night in Israel since it's not only her whose voice is sensitive to cigarette smoke on stage. Maryann, Trey and Teka probably appreciate her speaking up for them too. Not to mention all the nonsmoking civilians in the 12,000+ crowd. Good looking out MiMi. Keep the Lambily alive.

I'll always be proud to be a Mariah Carey fan. I've never been ashamed to be a Mariah Carey fan, even in high school during the Glitter and Charmbracelet eras.

Alanis Morissette is releasing "Jagged Little Pill: Collector's Edition". How I wish that Rolling Stone article had read Mariah Carey is releasing "Daydream: Collector's Edition". Add Slipping Away and any other unreleased remixes and songs from that era and release it.

If they add new songs to the Merry Christmas album then cool, but I don't want another remix of a remix of a remix to AIWFCIY. You can't remix it anymore. The So So Def remix is the only one I acknowledge. The other ones don't exist in my life. Lol. I've been jamming Make You Happy for years. That song is magical. I'll check out Trey's debut album.

Proud to be a Mariah fan (56,178)

Whether or not she makes all these quite profound and ground-breaking changes people suggest (lose weight, dress more conservatively and become "more mature") I am and always will be extremely proud to be a huge Mariah fan. How shallow for me to be embarrassed to be a fan. Again, do I think Mariah is perfect? No. But what I do admire about her is she is doing it her way, and contrary to popular opinion, I for one truly don't believe she's ignorant to the point of only listening to yes people and doesn't know the opinion of the wider public. Maybe it's another act of rebellion, because the public and media has not for a very long time given her the respect she deserves. So maybe now she doesn't give a hoot. And I for one applaud her for that. On a final note, all those people talking about Infinity being an awful song as if this is a fact, I hate to burst your bubble but it's not a fact and I absolutely love Infinity. It's very special to me and I think it's a beautiful song. I understood where Mariah was when she wrote it. Please can we all respectfully recognise our own opinions are not gospel, and regardless of the "evidence" we can provide to back up our claims, things like good or bad songs are just opinions.

Evolution (56,177)

I don't want Mariah to chase new trends to score a hit. I want Mariah the pioneer to come back. I want that Mimi that breaks new boundaries. Where is the Mariah Carey that invented the thug-love collabs? The one who made groundbreaking remixes, the one who created a sound that's the basis of almost every pop artist uses in their music? That Mimi would never make such an uninspired song like Infinity and its awful remix. I want her to take inspirations from those beautiful cities and places she visited with JP throughout summer. Combine all those distinct sounds from each city and create music that is true to her heart. Infinity was definitely not that kind of music. Now, if you're reading this, pioneer Mimi, please come back.

You know LC, I initially agreed with you about the Christmas re-release, however, if I had a wish list of what I would want included it would be: 1. A full song version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. 2. Her Hark The Herald Angels Sing version from GMA 1991 or even just adding the live performance. 3. Her version of Where Are You Christmas? She was supposed to sing it originally, but Tommy stopped that from happening and Faith Hill ended up singing it and making her an even bigger star. It would be great to finally hear her sing it. Speaking of Trey Lorenz, his whole debut is great. Mariah and Walter co produced. It's like a lost Mariah album. You should check out Make You Happy, it's Mariah singing back up on a sexual, contemporary sounding r&b song during that period in 1992.

At this point the damage had been done. We just have to enjoy Mariah in the now. One night it dawned on me that Mariah is asleep to the haters. She doesn't give a flying saucer. Stupid Stella won't be a friend and tell her what's up even though she probably snoops on our pages. James was giving her a cue by loosing more weight this time around. Is she still on vocal steriods? Mariah is lean and big boned, but she needs to tone up. As in exercise. You can tell she doesn't work out because her legs have lost their slight muscle tone. Stay woke.

Her legacy is intact, no matter what she does. She has already accomplished too much for it to be tarnished. As far as her being more "mature". I don't completely agree. I don't mind her wearing revealing clothes if she loses weight, or chasing hits if the music is still good.

She has regressed vocally from the last couple shows in Vegas. Her live vocals on the last two shows were bright, clear, and resonant. Her voice was in bad shape in this show and it was painfully obvious when the pre-records came on. In Vegas, she did a good job singing live and blending well into the pre-record where most non-lambs would never notice. In this show, it was like they were really trying to make it obvious. On a positive note, she gave a good vocal performance of My All that is worth checking out. I really hope she gets back to working on following a regiment that will help her sound good vocally when she performs. It was too big of a crowd not to.

I don't think clothes alone would turn people away, I do think some of the ideas she has maybe arn't understood by other people. In terms of more mature music was MIAM not mature? Excluding thirsty, Money and YDKWTD the majority of that album was very mature. Of course she's done better songs than Infinity and its remix but would you release your best material after an awful year when it would most likely go down the drain and be ignored? I have no doubt she will pull out all stops when she's ready but I think she's just chilling this year, not worrying about her appearance, not letting songs she's proud of being shat on and getting back in the swing of things. After 2014 and her arm I'd imagine she's just working at a slower pace and hopefully figuring everything out. It's all well and good us wanting her to be fit, slim, vocally pristine and almost perfect but she's not a robot. Perhaps she's tired of the high expectations?

Mariah needs a stylist with edge like Rachel Zoe or Eric Daman. She also needs a new glam squad. I think she also needs new producers and collaborators. A mature sound could work as could embracing Disco. I think we can all agree that we want to see Mariah back at #1. Mariah delivered musically with MIAM but the messy rollout (the multiple delays) and poor single choices ruined the albums chances for success. She needs a sense of agency, she needs to pique interest instead of doing what she's known for to mixed results. She should also stop with the remixes, if a single fails a remix isn't going to save it or breathe life into it.
