Dream collaborations (48,740) by Dove from USA
Three ballads co written with Walter Afanasief (for the nostalgia, their songs are my favorite). Christmas song duet with Kelly Clarkson. KC respects MC and I think their voices would sound great together. KC is inspired by MC but doesn't rip her off. She's been wanting to sing with Mariah forever. Collabo with Azealia Banks. Her new album is really exciting. I'm not even a big fan of rap/hip hop but I love it. I don't know if this is possible but I would like for MC to write some songs for Candice Glover. She has an amazing voice and I believe she has the potential to be the next diva with the right songs.

Mariah Daily decline (48,739) by Ty from USA
Mariah Daily used to give all the concert reviews, concert updates as they happen which I loved and the best pics. Now they hardly update and copy and paste other articles. Wack. I am however loving MCArchives and got to meet several of the site fans at the Beacon show. I had third seats at the show. I enjoyed Mariah's smile, touching my hand and her setlist. When she slipped and fell I knew a goat would YouTube the pic or video, so not cool.

Merchandise (48,738) by Darryle from USA
I know I've posted about this before but it really annoys me. Mariah and her team have got to do a better job with merchandise. Besides the fact that you can't get her albums from her actual store (her CDs are purchased through Amazon) she doesn't have any of her DVDs for sale either. Then there's the fact that it's near impossible to find a Mariah vinyl. Are her vinyls not in production anymore? I've noticed that Amazon actually sells vinyls like MJ, Madonna, and Prince but with Mariah you have to get them from a seller. I hope this get's fixed soon. It's frustrating as a fan when I want to expand my collection but can't.

Relatable Mariah (48,737) by QueenLambassador from Portugal
I find it amusing that some people think or even sugest Mariah should be more relatable. What for? So other people can like her? Would you be a fan if she was different? These diva behaviours are a part of her and we've had 25 years to get used to them. I know I did.

Re: Mike Dawson (48,736) by nikki from usa
(update) Actually, I take that back. There was a line where I said she should retire because there's no way to top it. However, clearly that's where you stopped reading. That was a figure of speech to how epic Butterfly was as an album, not a literal context. I used "retire" as a metaphor throughout the entire piece to define different musical directions and to how much of Mariah's life she dedicated to just music. I even ended it with Mariah will never truly retire.

Re: Mike Dawson (48,735) by nikki from usa
First of all, I never said Mariah should retire. Anywhere. In. My. Post. Clearly, you didn't even read it. Good Lord, you are barking up the wrong tree. The post was about different eras of Mariah and how much of her life she gave up to be all about the music. People forget that while they expect her to be "perfect" 24/7. Secondly, I pointed out how she made music for commercial success and then switched to a more personalized artistic expression. Your post makes absolutely no sense in response to mine.

Vevo certified (48,734) by Darryle from USA
We did it. AIWFCIY is officially Vevo certified. 100 million views and counting. First WBT and now AIWFCIY. That's two videos down. Now on to TMB. 20 million more to go.

My wish (48,733) by B from USA
My wish is for Mariah to work with Bruno Mars. I would love to hear them sing a song together. Bruno's When I Was Your Man is like the male equivalent of We Belong Together.

Baby (48,732) by B from USA
You're on the rampage, lol. Mariah Carey deserves respect. She's been doing this for almost twentyfive years. I think the reason she isn't taken as seriously as Aretha and Barbra is because she's good looking. Think about it. Read any interview about Mariah and the first thing the interviewer says is she's beautiful. Mariah has been consistently successful, even her "flops" sell more than some artist best selling albums. To expect her to sell like she used to is ridiculous.

Wishlist (48,731) by G.G. from USA
I wish Mariah would work with Lady Gaga. She's a very creative person and songwriter. I've always wanted Mariah to work with Pink. I think their voices would sound awesome together, a beautiful contrast. Pink did start out in R&B. I also think Mariah should work with Bruno Mars. All three of these singers also write, are very talented and pretty popular with the general public.

Baby (from Sweden) - MC eras (48,729) by ktktkt from Philippines
I love all her eras because they all have unique "flavors". It seems that though we know how discernible her tone is, it's different year after year. In my previous post, I'm referring to her "Daydream era" as her golden years when it comes to live singing. She was fearless and her live performances for me have eclipsed most of her recorded versions. (e.g. Hero, Underneath The Stars, Make It Happen, I'll Be tThere, I Don't Wanna Cry etc). But for the studio albums, here's my list. (I don't really pay attention to the creativity party, I'm more focused on the vocals/melody of the songs.)
1. Daydream - Perfect and so surreal.
1. Charmbracelet (tie with Daydream) - Who doesn't love this subtle invitation vocals? I love her whispery voice, I think that's not easy to do let alone sounding good with it. That's the first album I bought before actually following her.
2. Butterfly - I love het from the outside, the melody the message and her vocals. She's a stunner in that era.
3. Glitter - Amazing vocals, too bad it was underrated.
3. Merry Christmas (tie with Gitter) - This is a phenomenal Christmas record that I'm proud raising the volume too loud so everyone could hear how great MC is.

Memoriah (lol, not Memorial) (48,727) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Memoriah is everyone's favourite singer, in hindsight, The general public forget how she was recieved all the way from VOL untill now. She was always criticised for one thing or another, true or false, throughout her career. There was never a time she was untouchable or truly insulated from detractors. Even at her most popular other celebrities would single her out to make some disparaging remarks or jokes at her expense, always completely unprovoked. Sometimes I wonder if most of the resentment isn't because of her being a very succesful and independent woman of color. It's easy to forget that Mariah comes from a country where her mother's side of the family completely disowned her. Also, Mariah has very many people of color in her inner circle, she's said that some will even ask her why, as if there is something wrong with that. Yeah, racism is still a factor in why some people might never like Mariah. It's the truth even if it's hard to swallow. But I guess it falls under the "not everybody's gonna like you" category. *plays Outside*

Haters (48,726) by Otti from Belgium
I can be verry objective. I'm a fan of Mariah since Butterfly. And for me she has the right to lipsyn or miss a note. She is human. And I am thankful, for the way she keeps making music and performs. Since I know Mariah, I feel people always trie to count her out. But she keeps coming out on top. And that is also a reason why I keep supporting her. Like I said, she pays the price because she is still relevant. Why are the haters always comparing her to a younger generation like Beyonce and Ariana? If you want to compare singers than do it equal. For an example: Ariana 21 year old and Mariah 21 year old. At the same age, Mariah had four consecutive number one singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, from her debut album.

Memorial, everybody's favourite singer (48,725) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

If we want to relive the splendour of whatever era, song, film roles or any other stellar moments, we have our CD's, DVD's and YouTube. One day I know we'll look back on this era and smile as we remember how she wowed us all, from #Beautiful, Almost Home, the AIWFCIY performance on Jimmy Fallon, TAOLG lamb serenade-jazz-extravaganza, the MIAMTEC in-house concert, to TECS, the first annual Beacon residency and even the Rockefeller virus that went around infecting the masses.

ktktkt and the vocal gift that is present Mariah (48,724) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
We all enjoy Mariah for many of the same reasons yet also for the opposite reasons sometimes. And by that I mean, things like favourite eras, ideas of which might be her signature songs, who we prefer as her collaborators historically etc. Not to mention all the very personal reasons most of us connect with Mariah beyond just regular stanning that make us such staunch defenders of her not just online but in real life. But isn't it funny how if you ask the Lambily to date Mariah at her "vocal peak" or "prime" you'd find the dots all over her 25 year career evenly spread. Daydream was my first favourite everything but I personally love the Butterfly era the most since the first time I heard the album. I think that's her peak artistically, vocally and as a songwriter. MIAMTEC is, to my surprise, rivalling that for me right now. I love that about Mariah, that she's still digging to give us gold, not looking for any reason to quit even as bleak as It sometimes gets both on and off stage and I'm just so thankful that we are still talking about Mariah because of performances she's doing right this minute, an album she released this year and how beautiful she looks today, instead of being relegated to speaking of her in past tense.
1. Butterfly
2. MIAMTEC
3. Daydream
The rest of Mariah's catalogue I enjoy more or less equally, meaning whenever I hear the albums now I easily revert to feeling infatuated like one remembers past adolescent crushes. What do your lists look like?

An apology to Mariah Carey (48,723) by ADAM from USA
Mauro, your message was beautiful. I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on MC's career and voice. I am just grateful for the gift of her music and her willingness to still perform and create new music. Even though she doesn't put out music as regularly as we would like anymore, it's still better than most artists of her caliber. I would also like to state as someone who witnessed her live at Beacon last Thursday, MC's voice is still intact. While it's clear it takes much more effort to emote the high notes and sing in full voice, she's still here and sounds great in person. After watching her live again, I felt bad for being one of the many naysayers about her Rockefeller performance and writing off her talent. What my feelings have now evolved into is that I believe any artist should be celebrated for their gifts. That even though Mariah's voice will never be like it was in 93-96, it doesn't make her any less relevant. Why should she not perform anymore or create music? If she is driven to create music and wants to please her legion of fans no matter how big or small, doesn't she has the right? I know I will support her. I love her voice and talent when she was younger and still do as she ages. In closing, everyone ages in all facets of life from athletes to singers to actors but just because there bodies age it doesn't take away from their accolades or God given talent. Thank you Mariah for being you.

Hello from Italy (48,722) by mauro from italy
Hello everybody. I just wanna weigh in on some of the issues some fans have with Mariah. When you look back at Mariah's career as I can because I am 49, you got to remember a few things. She has been a trailblazer, visionary, intuitive and also someone who has worked hard to be where she is at. Can anybody sustain commercial success when nobody buys music anymore? Hardly. Were there missteps in how her last few years have managed? Many. But if you love an artist you have to grow with them. Times have changed and Mariah Carey is still successful because even with the under performance of Me. I Am Mariah she still manages to be relevant. While others like Celine Dion who has settled in Vegas and anything she puts out flops, Mariah continues on her road of artistic freedom. Time passes foe everyone. Celine lyps in Vegas because noone could sustain that strain on her cords and her voice has changed. Mariah has definitely suffered damage on her chords. We should be supportive. She is free to make all the choice she wants. We may not agree but at the end of the day nobody else can look back at their careers and see what Mariah can. Just be grateful she is brave enough to whether the storm. God bless.

Signature song (48,721) by Otti from Belgium
Personally I think having a signature song is not that positive. It means like you are known for one big song in your career. It's like Toni Braxton has "Un-break my heart", Celine "My heart will go on" and Whitney IWALY. And if Gotye can't do better, than it would be "Somebody that I used to know". Signature song means you are a one hit wonder. Which Mariah would never be known for. Note: I know people who know Mariah by the song Heartbreaker. Even more "I'll be there" is one of her songs that's very popular here in Europe.

Christmas Shows / Jesus Oh What A Wonderful Child (48,720) by Martyn from England, UK
I've been seeing "Jesus Oh What A Wonderful Child" in the setlist for a few of these shows. Did she actually sing it, or was it just Trey and the choir? Can anybody who was there confirm this for me? I would love to hear her sing this nowadays, but I highly doubt she did for some reason. I can't see modern-day Mariah going in for that gospel breakdown haha.

Signature song (48,719) by Andy from Germany
Except for AIWFCIY, I think MC signature songs vary from continent to continent (and even from country to country). For example, "Without you" was a massive hit for MC in Germany and Europe. It is still more popular than "Hero". "We belong together" wasn't doing so well in Europe. Then there is "I want to know what love is". That was huge in Brazil for weeks. So, depending on the market place and the taste of each country in the world, MC signature songs differ. Wishing you all Happy Holidays and a lovely 2015.

Edward, Andrew, goats in disguise, Beacon Theater (48,717) by Marcus from Brazil
I'm still in heaven that I got to see Mariah last night at the Beacon Theater. It was an extraordinary experience. Mariah look stunning, was in very good spirits, and sung with confidence and grace. When Mariah takes care of her instrument, she can still sing very well. Lady Gaga and Mariah should collaborate. Edward, thanks a lot for showing me a good time, and for the mini-tour, I had a wonderful time. It is sad you can't come to tonight's show too. Those who like the name-calling, I hope you don't get to see Mariah live ever, she doesn't deserve to be in the presence of such spiteful goats disguised as lambs. Yes, you self-righteous name-callers are goats disguised as lambs. I'll be seeing the queen again tonight again. Mariah said "I love you" when she saw my sign. Don't hate. Andrew, keep it coming, goats will hate and fade away, fans will stay.

There's like people called haters... and we give them positivity (48,716) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

3:40 Mariah: "We are all just living in the moment of being positive and there's like people called haters (no no, Cindi Cindi, one more thing) and we give them positivity. You see I can't even get a minute. Bye." So basically THTB have been on Mariah's radar since 2001, at least? Yeah, that sounds about right, probably why the Lambily formed in he first place. The only question is why you haters are acting brand new? You all been at it for decades, come rainbows come sunflowers you were always there, hating. Congratulations on your dedication. Pity you haven't actually been successful in your endeavours since Mariah is still the same quirky person she always was, but don't dismay, it's the thought that counts. Maybe in another 25 years you will have actually made some small impact with your whining and complaining about non issues or made up disasters. I mean, if you believe in yourselves enough and all that jazz, you could totally make it happen. Don't let anyone ever take away your hate. If anyone deserves to be hated on, it's Mariah Carey, right?

Gaga and signature song (48,715) by Pablo from Spain
I'm so excited to have a pic of my two fave singers together. I would love a Mariah and Gaga duet. Both are extremely talented women and both are super misunderstood. Both New Yorkers. It could work. Anyway, I asked on a message board I post at what non-fans would consider her signature song. (I usually just lurk here, have been lurking here since 1999.) The results: Always Be My Baby, Vision Of Love, All I Want For Christmas, Hero and One Sweet Day. So that might be saying a lot if non-fans can't even decide on what it is. She has too many hits and too many good songs for just one signature song. For me, it'd have to be Fantasy or AIWFC, but my faves are Breakdown and Side Effects.

LC and NyHotShotta / Me. I am Mariah... Full of Grace (48,713) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Thank you guys for those illustrative videos. We all know who is in denial and has delusions of the real state of Mariah's vocals and it's not anyone in the Lambily. But you better believe I'll find great pleasure in the fact that they will go out of their way to avoid addressing the obvious facts that Mariah hits the same notes through every era as if time has somehow stopped for her. Her tone has matured, acquired even more depth, like fine wine but she's kept her vocals in great condition and her range not just in tact but perhaps even more elastic. She deserves to get an honorary degree from Juliard or something for sustaining this level of excellence for over 25 years as a professional singer. Yet they continue to call it a lie when the 100% truth is that Mariah Carey sounds in some respects better than she ever has since her debut. They are simply dishonest and therefore irrelevant to any real discourse. None the less, it's more than a little amusing to watch them contort and twist into every balloon animal imaginable except the proverbial elephant in the room. It's not that Mariah has never fallen down, made mistakes or done every single thing perfectly. It's how gracefully she lands and resiliently picks herself up again that is such a treat. I'm a lamb and I'm proud.
