B and Mariah's theory of relatability (48,786) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
I completely echo your sentiment B. It's the media and those with a vested interest in her getting bad press that arbitrarily change their portrayal of Mariah (or don't, depending on your perspective). Mariah has stayed intrinsically the same at her core for all these years. Even though Mariah is as scandal free as they come with no real vices and with the most family like entourage I can think of considering her stature it's like the media and general public are dead set on projecting an image of her being the total opposite of who and what she is in real life. When I first heard of Sandra Bernhard's defence of Mariah act I was surprised but now I think it illustrates perfectly just how easy Mariah is to like once you get to know her. Maybe I'm reading to much into Sandra's "Mimi's" but to me only someone who has been won over personally by Mariah would be as effusive with her nickname. Maybe they actually became friends against all odds? So the moral of the story is: Mariah doesn't need to change anything because once most people get to know her in, real life or study, they turn into docile lambs. Those of us on whom she's made a positive impact on will always come to her defence. Merry Christmas MCA.

Wishing you all lovely holidays and here's hoping that Mariah keeps doing the Christmas concerts so that I can be there next year.

Re: American Idol moment (48,781) by Dove from USA
"Just sing from your heart the entire time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around you." I love that. Mariah knows what she's doing, she doesn't need my help. I forgot for a moment she's been doing this for 25 years and I've been doing it for 0 years. I've been watching the Christmas performances and I love what she's projecting. I won't be on here for a while but I wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope to see you all next year.

Never thought I would see this happening but here's a clip of Sarah defending M. Good for her.

American Idol moment (48,777) by Lee TS from USA

I wanted to share this clip because M looks fantabulously gorgeous, but notice the young man next to her mom Patricia. He resembles Mariah so much, I wonder if he's her nephew Michael, Alison's second son. I hope she can make up with her sister one day.

Mariah Carey live vocal range (48,776) by ktktkt from Philippines

Eb5's and E5's have always been her sweetspot. They're not necessarily very high but she sounded beautiful on them. Yay.

Lee TS / Bill from UK - demo (48,775) by Isabelle from USA
It's fake. If you got to that girl's social media pictures she posts blurry pictures of her alleged family and none are with her. Tommy only has four children: Michael and Sarah with his first wife. Bill, the demo that Mariah passed around did have VOL but it was a rough and unfinished version. I think that she deleted that pic because people noticed her lie. But I do with she would re-release her debut with the demos and her recording sessions for the 20th anniversary of the album.

MIAMTEC era (48,774) by Darryle from USA
This was my first era as a lamb and I must say I think it was a pretty good one. Sure I didn't get the expierence of seeing Mariah's face blasted all over tv and magazines or hearing her music on the radio but I did get some things from it. I got the best album Mariah's made in years and one of her best overall. I got the experience of seeing Mariah's tour videos and just being in complete awe of her voice. I saw her break world records by being the first American artist to have 5 sold out shows in China. Then there's the first annual AIWFCIY spectacular where she showed the world that she was and is a forced to be reckoned with. This era might not have panned out as Mariah wanted it to but that doesn't mean it was all bad.

Marissa / relatability (48,773) by Edward from USA
Marissa, I agree. Relatability makes a huge difference in getting new fans. Songs like "Outside", "Petals", "Looking In" and "Can't Take That Away" take completely new meaning once you know the story behind Mariah, the fairytale like story of her beginnings, her struggle, the ups and down, and triumphs. I see her 90's songs are intimate conversations with her fans. If you're not a fan, you won't ever know the reference to some of her past songs on for "For The Record". Mariah needs more than just her fans for a comeback, so she'll have to make some changes just like she did before TEOM came out. America loves a comeback. She should go, get in shape, release an EP with some collabos to taste the waters without risking failure, and then comeback full force and slay. Rihanna's back on 2015, and Ariana seems to be following the path of releasing albums every year like Mariah did during the 90's. With a hot collabo to kickstart her project, she'll reign suprime once again. Bruno Mars or Lady Gaga would help her do the trick.

Relatable (48,771) by B from USA
Mariah Carey is relatable. The media's portrayal of her is not. The media is the reason the public thinks she's an out of touch ego maniac with delusion of grandeur. A delusion of grandeur is the fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth. It isn't really a stretch to see why they say and write the things they do, lol. She is a musical genius, she's famous, and her voice is other worldly.

Nikki and the 7 year bitch (48,768) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Bless you for trying to make sense of nonsense. The whole purpose of that frivolous lawsuit is for that woman to never work again. As in retire. Nobody with half a mind would buy that she was underpaid and mistreated by Mariah for seven consecutive years. Wouldn't her friends and family have made her see the light much earlier if that were the case? 16 hour days with no meals? Isn't it Mariah who makes all her employees sign contracts to ensure that she gets regular breaks, food and rest, to avoid what happened in 2001? I don't even bother with these kinds of stories. They just do not compute. We all know Mariah likes familiar faces. For her to drop you like a bad habit doesn't speak well of you.

Otti and Eddie Morales' Beacon whispers (48,766) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
Boomerang, I love your posts too, In fact I went and read all of them, again. I always end up doing that when I see a balanced post, it's usually a pattern and yours don't disappoint, even in hindsight. Now to the rumour that The Elusive Chanteuse Show is coming to Europe next year. Allegedly Eddie, MC's choreographer, told some lambs at one of the Beacon shows that Mariah is going on a world tour next year. Whether it's the continuation of TECS or MC25 is up for grabs. Could this be that big, elusive 2015 announcement that was teased in November, back stage, on tour? Did you get to see her during the CB tour? Of all the times to be working abroad I had to pick the only time she ever had a concert in Sweden. Still not over it.

Those videos are incredible, thank you for posting. I agree, they really need no comment as the performance speaks for itself. JTTW was totally awe inspiring. Those high notes were beautiful and she sang with such passion and energy. What a woman and what a voice.

2014 (48,764) by Jake from New Zealand
Actually, it has. I think this (along with 2001) is one of the worst years for her ever since she came. Her album flopped, no hit singles, she's gained a lot of weight (still look great though), she separated from Nick and of course the bad performances from TECS and the Rockefeller disaster. Hopefully she can bounce back with a hit and good performances and regain the public's attention and admiration.

I'm so happy Mariah is doing better. Her voice has improved a lot. It won't be long before she releases a great album and slays.

I agree with all the points you made about Mariah being very relatable, but the casual fans that struggle to relate to Mariah will not know any of that. Obviously Mariah's relatability doesn't matter to us because we're lambs haha.

2014 (48,760) by B from USA
Mariah's year hasn't been that bad really. MIAMTEC and her concerts at the Beacon Theater were well received. The only negative things were the divorce and the Rockefeller and opening night performances which were just bad days that even Mariah Carey is entitled to.

TS, MC "Hero" December 22 at Beacon (48,759) by ktktkt from Philippines
I was totally blown away esp at 1:26, kinda sounds "Daydreamish". It's so beautiful. And it's not even the hardest note. Proof that you really don't need to belt your lungs out just to sound beautiful. I want to hear more of that kind of melismas (not sure if I'm using the term right lol) but yeah it's one of the her best in recent times.

I have to say one thing I really love reading posts of B from Sweden. She nailed it everytime, with every post. It's reality, you can say it better than me. Just what I think, and you say it. You can see through the madness. And also that avatar picture, nice choice. From the Butterfly era.
