Why so harsh? (47,405) by Tijl from Belgium I have never, but really never ever before posted on any forum endorsing Mariah. Basically because I believe too many people project their frustrations and insecurities onto a subject that is easy to hit. When I read all the comments regarding Mariah's latest tour I feel so sad. Are amateuristic videos really a trustworthy source? We can not neglect the fact that our girl is going through some rough times and that her voice indeed has changed. She is out there for the fans. Do people realise that using the voice at that level is the equivalent of an athlete performing sports at an Olympic level continuously? Give her break. We all know she has the voice, she can do it.. Maybe not all perfect all the time. Question yourself why you have become a fan in the first place. (Monday 13 October 2014; 16:55)

Daily Mail (47,404) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter DM just posted horrible pictures of Mariah from the most unflattering angles, and with her undergarments showing. MC will be pissed when she sees these. From the videos and all Mariah looks great and she has slimmed down but obviously if shot from an unflattering angle anyone would look different and these pictures are probably the worst of the lot. I have visited the website everyday for the past 2-3 years and people didnt seem as convicted to impose themselves. All of a sudden fans want to react over Mariah not singing very well. Then we go and cite publications on this forum, as if to say we agree but then turn around and claim you love Mariah from 1990s. It is now the 2010s and if you are not happy go to TGJ. One complaint from the same people on the same issue is enough. So please stop trying to impose/argue with other fans over and over again. It's becoming repetitive. Someone said last week they believed Mariah looks at this website. I extremely doubt that. I didn't join to see someone post videos from 2012 to make it seem Mariah has lost her touch. Now we are using the term praying for her. Oh my gosh. What happened to remit prayer? Are we praying on speculation of divorce? Last time I checked Mariah hasn't officially spoken out. So therefore, I will pray for the kids and family to stay together without seperating. I will remain optimistic as fans should be that Mariah's been in the industry long enough with much success to give us more hits. (Monday 13 October 2014; 10:11)

This is beyond her career or legacy, but when I saw her up there and the clips of opening night, I saw a woman in pain that has gone through so much over the past year and a half. In the 25 years of being a fan, I have never seen her that down and out. I pray for total healing of her mind, body, and soul. I don't care if she doesn't sing another note as long as she lives a happy life with her children and that one day, when she is ready, that she finds the right person to be by her side. I'd like to make a request to the rest of the fans on this board to pray for her because I truly believe that is what she needs right now. Suggestions about her current or next career moves aren't bad, its just been done over and over and right now, she needs to get "through the rain". Thank you RJJ12 for posting ABMB rehearsal (47,397) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada I loved it and actually hadn't seen it before. I realize that the stuff in China and Japan has not been the best vocal performances of her career, I get that. I'm not making excuses, I just don't think it is as dire as some are perceiving it to be (ie MC should retire ect). I know she's being paid, and I get that some are tired of what they feel are excuses or "having to defend her" in the face of bad publicity or whatever else, but you know, we're all at choice and there's no rule that says fans must defend Mariah. For those that have grown tired of it, I say let go of the stress, and just don't do it if you don't want to, or don't feel it is justified. For me, personally, I was 12 when VOL came out and Mariah is my fave female singer. That won't change based on what is or isn't going on with her voice. Yes, things have changed since 1990, and no I'm not a fan who feels Mariah is perfect. I think she's a human being, capable of being flawed and making mistakes like the rest of us. At the end of the day we don't know what has gone down for her despite the media commentary or her public appearances. Any claims are simply speculation based on what we think we know. At the risk of coming off like I am wearing rose coloured glasses, or being called a delusional fan, Mariah has always said music has been her saving grace and a source of healing. IMHO this is why she's touring right now. It is clear whatever transition she's going through has been hurtful/emotional and for me it isn't making an excuse to have compassion in your heart for people, even when they create their own experiences. The current era (47,394) by Chase from USA I know there has been a lot of discussion about everything going wrong with this era. It's true, this will not go down in history as Mariah's career peak. That said, I enjoyed watching the news footage of her concert in Beijing. It seems her road management is doing the right thing by scheduling shows in cities/countries where she rarely performs and is still very respected. I'm sure it is exciting for Chinese fans to get a handful of shows from a Western artist of her caliber. As far as the new album, I honestly think it is her best effort since her '90s heyday, even if it's her least successful commercially. She gave us everything we love about Mariah (I think): the vocals, the lyrics, the R&B production, the uptempo tracks, and the big ballads. I'm not a huge fan of the cover art, but I'll accept it as another "self-portrait" (showing Mariah as she sees herself) like the drawing on the back cover. She'll get through this rough patch, just listen to the conviction she has on "Heavenly" and the joy she is on "Supernatural". (Sunday 12 October 2014; 16:54)

Harry Nilsson (47,393) by Bill from the UK The funny thing is Harry Nilsson wasn't even the original artist. It was originally done by a hardly known group called Badfinger, of which Ham and Evans were members. Nilsson changed the arrangement of the song quite noticeably, and Mariah covered "his version", if you will, much like how Michael Bolton mirrored Mariah's arrangements on his Christmas album for Joy To The World and O Holy Night. Lots of people think Nilsson is the writer and original artist because he wrote all his other songs and it was him who made the song popular. Before it was just an album track by an unknown group. I hate when people say here career is done, that she has nothing left in here. Ya she had a little trouble last week at the Tokyo concert but no one is perfect she is still amazing, she works so hard spending hours a day in the studio perfecting her music and it has shown, she is so amazing. So, Harry Nilsson was the writer? (47,388) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End So, I just saw an extended video of the Without You performance in Beijing and Mariah starts out by shouting out Harry Nilsson, as the songwriter. Did she legitemately forget about Pete Ham and Tom Evans? 00:09 "So, Harry Nilsson, he was the writer of this particular song." Did anyone else catch that? I tend to think Mariah said it on purpose to be funny, like how so many people think she remade AIWFCIY and didn't write the song herself. Trish / Always Be My Baby Live (47,387) by RJJ12 from USA Trish, I used to feel the same way until I saw this performance. This rehearsal was way better than what was televised because those darn hosts ruined the beginning. This is as close to 90s as you are going to get. Trish / Always Be My Baby (47,385) by Bill from the UK Whoa whoa whoa, hang on a second. ABMB is one of Mariah's greatest songs, and like AIWFCIY, it's a song both die hards and casual fans love. It changes the pace, it's mellow, popular, nostalgic, and I love it when Mariah gets the audience to join in with the "doo doo doops" at the end. I have on many occasions listened to that one song on repeat for hours on end. It never gets old and has never dated. It really is one of the best things she ever did. (Sunday 12 October 2014; 2:59)

Always Be My Baby (47,384) by Trish from USA I don't like how Mariah sings this song live even when her vocals are on point. She's very casual with the song like she's thinking "oh this old song again" and she shortens the phrases with I don't think is very pretty. In the old days she slowed down the ending and I loved the soft high notes she'd use to close the song. If she's tired of singing it, sing something else. All the real fans have heard it a million times and honestly I'd rather hear almost anything else off of Daydream: I Am Free, Melt Away, Open Arms, Forever, Looking In, or When I Saw You. I think I Am Free is an appropriate song for this particular tour and is such a beautiful song. (Sunday 12 October 2014; 1:03)

Without you (47,382) by Jenny from South Africa Without You has always been my favourite Mariah vocal of all time. I thoroughly enjoyed the clip below. My girl can still sing people. It really moved me. I'm not sure if Fantasy was totally live but it was so great to see her moving and having fun. And her outfit was so sexy in a cute and classy way. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (47,381) by Isabelle from USA I was looking through different sites to see if they have mention Mariah not being nominated for Hall of Fame and found nothing. Then I saw some site that has group of artists that yearly eligible for nominations and they Mariah for eligibility for next years round of nominees with the ceremony held for 2016 for the inductees. That sorta confused me a bit. I always thought that that if an artist got to be inducted to the Hall of Fame on their first year of eligibility it would have been on the 25 year career anniversary not the following year. It would be nice to split the show in two halves: MIAM songs and the hits.
