MCFan ATL (43,874) by Brad Catoe from United States
Yes you are so right lol. There are some things I don't like about the album, like OMT. I was really disappointed by this, but the other songs are great. Most on this board want Mariah to sing ballads from the 90's co-produced by Afanasieff. I think it comes down to human psychology. People who don't like something are more apt to complain. People who are happy wth Mariah just don't post, like yourself. Also can we please not refer to the 90's as the Golden Years. Lol. Mariah is still relevant and talented. Remember people, the woman is almost 50.

MCfanATL, if the webmaster allowed for illicit material, I'd describe all the things I want to do to you for posting your post. It's perfect. I too found myself criticizing her so much, though I am a fan from the VOL days as well. But you are totally right, she has been belting out incomparable tunes for us to enjoy for a quarter of a century. She needn't do anything else. We are lucky to hear "anything" new she gifts us with. I haven't heard the album yet but, am doing everything in my power to leave work early to hear it. Thank you for that insert.

Singles (43,872) by G.G. from USA
Make It Look Good, Meteorite, You Don't Know What To Do, Dedicated and One More Try. They should all be singles sent to the different markets. I think they'd all do very well. I love this album.

Confused (43,871) by MCfanATL from USA
I rarely ever post on this messageboard, but I am totally confused as to why half of you even come here, because many of you don't sound like fans at all. In fact, you sound like haters. I've listened to the album and I think it's awesome. It's fresh, it's retro, it's got a great mix of ballads and uptempo's. Meterorite is brilliant. The album reminds me of Butterfly and TEOM. All I see so many of you do is rant about her voice, her interviews, her drinking, her appearance, her song choices. Get over yourselves, folks. This woman has a 24 year career of making amazing music, and she has the awards and accolades to prove it. Plus she's worth like $550 million. She doesn't ever have to utter another note if she didn't want to. Is her voice a little worn? Maybe so, but she did it for you, for us, the Lambily. I've been a fan since 1990, been around for all the up and downs. So for those of you who do nothing but complain and hate, find a new diva to like.

iTunes chart (43,870) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The album is slowly rising up the iTunes chart. Currently sitting at number 22. Seems like a lot of people liked it. By the way, Supernatural is so precious. So adorable. And the lines that Monroe sings at the end and the little conversation between Mariah and dem babies sound so natural. I am glad she recorded this song. I adore it.

Re: Lee (43,869) by nikki from usa
Thank you for the diversion. I'm not listening to any MC music until the album comes out or the radio starts playing her. These comments are making me want to break down, but I'm not going to. I'm so glad you said that first. I was thinking the same thing. Billboard? Really? The woman can't sing, her "live" is awful, and half her "career" she wasn't out. After stealing from Christina Milian, Ashanti, MC, and Amerie she bombed when she tried to do her own thing. She went MIA for 5 years, tried to recapture her glory days when she was supposed to find new talent, squeezed out a few more hits followed by mediocre album sales, and now her only claim to fame is views on Vevo. For that, she's getting an award? An icon? In 2005, she released a track where her vocals weren't touched up. I remember that backlash and people telling her to take singing lessons. Then, the producers come in to save the day and release a "touched up" version the following week. I guess people really do forget with time.

Grannies clapping? Stop that. Well I can't comment on the album as a whole yet, since I haven't heard it. I think I'll just wait until its release. Perhaps it'll grow on you though. Or maybe not. I'm glad the vast majority of the reviews are great, and really hoping this is another big comeback year for MC. So she can bow out gracefully, if she needs to.

Good album (43,867) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
As a whole but not that excellent; lyrically really poor and the production is overdone. She's filling the songs with random phrases and hums here and there that are quite distracting. Her voice is not as good as some are saying but at least she tried with what she still has and with the help of the pro-tools something is to be at least recognized. The "whole body of work" was something I didn't find but really wasn't expecting. Since Rainbow she's been telling the same about every album. What I miss - besides her vocals of old - is a good production, a focus on the music direction like Walter Afanasieff brought in the golden years. Even OMT was so wrongly and poorly produced. Walter would've certainly turned that song into a classic and gave us the best out of Mariah's capabilities at this time but she's not working w him since 97 so, miss them but get used to it. Her pop-modern tracks are as usual her best. Meteorite was way better than I thought and funny as well since she did the kind of record everybody told her to do since 2007 and she said she's never. If she only had kept the rappers out It'd be an even better album. I guess the only track they didn't preview was Money and well, as a whole good still she let me willing for more. Hope she's releasing the tracks she worked on last year, even her The Dream tune and the "raw ballads". Not impressed, not that dissapointed either.

For the lambily (43,865) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Mariah said this album "was for the lambily and anyone who wanted to download a good song or two". With that statement, I don't think she cares about "mass appeal". Just chill and enjoy. She's made her mark in music.

Why the wrong singles all the time? Why? So many incredible songs on this album from all indications. Meteorite is my favourite. Please give us the the video already.

The majority of the songs are a bore and most sound the same. Filler album stuff. YDKWTD is alright, it's channeling that retro feel that's a cool sound of late, but it still sounds dated, and not in a good way. I can imagine grannies clapping along to it. Not good. Beautiful is the best song off the album, it has mass appeal but I believe that was mostly down to Miguel's faultless vocals. Do you lambs honestly think these songs will appeal to a mass audience? She just needs to strike the right balance. She needs to take a leaf out of Amy Winehouse, Adele and Lana Del Rey's book. They make great ballads, and they don't have to screech or shout the hell out of a song to convey emotion. Mariah used to be so gifted when it came to pouring emotion out onto melody, she could sound playful, sexy, poignant and full of energy so effortlessly. This era's effort's don't feel that way. I wish she had more upbeat songs that she didn't have to ruin with rappers talking all over the place, or overly produced hip hop with unnecessary whispering and left and center.

Brief review (43,860) by PJW from The U.K.
It's fantastic. As I said last week this is Mariah, but a Mariah we've never heard before. The maturity of it is what stands out for me, there's none of the Mariah candy glitter we're so used to but smooth, adult RnB, with a smattering of disco and embellished with gospel touches. On some tracks she seemingly holds the opinion that more is more and so feeds the stereotype, giving you more riffs, layers and high notes than a flock of sparrows but if that's your thing, you're "in heaven". There will be many fans that don't like this album as it might be a bit too non "Mariah commercial" but personally, it's what I've waited for since TEOM; a classy, well produced, nicely sung varied album. It's going to take me a while longer to fully absorb it but thus far, I'm very happy. Overall, I'd say she was telling the truth much more than on Memoirs or E=MC2, this definitely is her through and through.

Bravo (43,857) by George Golden from UK
Meteorite is heaven. Mariah, sorry for ever doubting you. This album could become her best album and it's really strange that it could be after all these years. Bravo.

So is there anything you liked about the album? I mean with all these great reviews, you had to like something about it. Anywho I hate that I missed it, I had my iTunes up on my laptop and ready to go then passed out fast to sleep only to wake up at 4am.

Album opinion (43,855) by J from USA
I listened to the album and while it will definitely take a few more listens for me to get more acquainted with it, it didn't pull me in automatically like Memoirs did. The album is way better than E=MC2 in my opinion. I honestly do not think is a commercial album at all. Just like Mariah said, a body of work. Too much features but in all a really good effort.

Stream (43,854) by Darryle from USA
The stream has already produced leaks. I knew it was bound to happen but I didn't think this soon. I hope the leaks and the stream don't lower her sales.

New album (43,853) by Hana from UK
Will probably get slated for this but I am not feeling the new album. The production over powers her, and I agree with someone that said she gets lost in it. Her vocals are strained, and I sometimes can't really tell what she is saying. This era's lyrics are the worst, has me thinking did she ever have much input in her earlier songwriting work? She didn't really say much in TAOLG and the same goes for the rest of these songs. Most of the songs sound the same.

YDKWTD - excellent (43,852) by Lainsky from Philippines
Oh yes, for me this is the type of music that she should be releasing these days. It is like a mix of her 90s self and the elusive chanteuse. I hope this will propel the sale of the album and make it to No.1 both this single and the album. This is so wonderful. Now I can say I totally miss her because I can't stop listening to it. Oh dear.

First listen (43,851) by Licia from USA
Mariah better do that. I was going to wait until the CD came out to listen, but gave in. It was well worth the wait. If I'm going to wait four years I want quality and she did it. That One More Try remake is stellar. She did George Michael proud. I find it funny that all the fans who were attacking JD are now singing his praises. Maybe he didn't do things the way TM did or Benny Medina, but he was doing something. At the end if the day like he said she's the boss. Anyway back to the happy. She did good.

Me. I am Mariah (43,850) by juan from Dubai
Me. I am inlove with this album. Truly masterpiece. Truly an artwork of real talent, hardwork and love. I will be heartbroken if this will not go #1 and produce the 19th #1.

The album (43,849) by Elena from The Netherlands
Just listened to the album. It's good, it's fresh. A very new sound from Mariah and finally no WBT style ballads, but mostly piano and her voice. One More Try is ok, but she sings it too carefully. George Michael poors his heart out in this and she doesn't try to get to that level when we know she can. I believe she should've covered it when she had that chrystal clear Daydream/Merry Christmas voice, then she would've done it really justice. Cry, Camouflage are amazing. I really love Thirsty and Faded. She really tried to give the lambily whatever style they like from her. Overall it's a good album, but some critical points: 1. She unfortunately sounds hoarse when she belts a lot of the times. 2. Her presence sometimes gets a bit lost under the production and arrangements. 3. I don't get Supernatural, it's a bit messy, all over the place. Dem babies are cute though. I give this album a 7/10.

Left this out of my other posts. Cry is A+ amazing. I didn't put it as my favorite but it's definitely a fantastic song. It's classic Mariah and her vocals are amazing.

World Music Awards (43,847) by Darryle from USA
This is the performance for this era. This has to be the performance where everyone is like Mariah just anointed us she just took us to church etc. This is the "Standing O" performance that she needs to get album off the ground. If she sings, dances (not likely), and works the stage even if it's just running back and forth and spinning in a circle then everyone will praise the performance. There can't be any hint of lip synching even if she does because if people think she is she'll definitely be called out for it. The WMA performance needs to be the performance were the lambs go to show the goats that Mariah still has it. She needs to snatch some wigs with this one. We need a performance and not just singing.
