Madonna (48,872) by Darryle from USA Not to bring her up again but why does Madonna have a problem with Mariah. I know Madonna said something like she'd rather kill herself than be Mariah. Then Mariah said I haven't listen to Madonna since she was popular in like 7th or 8th grade. As far as I know Mariah didn't say anything rude to Madonna. 2015 is full of great surprises (48,870) by Edward from USA Mariah has enough songs recorded to give us a nice surprise for her 25th anniversary without overworking herself. According to "The Breakfast Club" interview, she has a great song called "Kick Rocks", and like that one I'm pretty sure she has many others. She was supposed to have sung a new song here and there during "The Elusive Chanteuse" tour, but she didn't, unless she actually recorded "Lullaby of Birdland" and "Don't Explain", then I would die. I don't think we'll go empty-handed on 2015. If she collaborates with a successful mainstream artist for the first single, she could get that 19th #1 she so deserves. I'm not stressing about #1's anymore, but I do really want Mariah to be on the charts again, she's earned it. I was flabbergasted when "Make It Look Good", hailed as one of the best records of 2014, didn't even get a Grammy nomination. (Thursday 1 January 2015; 2:38)

MC just needs the right single and image (48,869) by jaker20 from US It's not as simple as giving her A-game. It's something we can't easily figure out. Cher was 52 when she had the greatest year/album/single of her career and I think MC is a much more well-rounded talent than Cher. Madonna was 54 when she scored another top 10 two years ago. MC was hardly in her A-game during TEOM yet come on, let's face it, she lipped her way through that era. Yet that's one of her banner years. Why? Because the songs just simply rock. Right time, right place. One of the most perfect blends of R&B/Pop/HipHop/Soul ever. When I first heard WTB I knew it was gonna be massive. It's always about the song. Cher didn't know Believe was going to be massive, and when it did she run with it. There's some formula in pop music (and art in general) that cannot be easily be manufactured, especailly for someone who's been in the game for so long. I've been hard on MC too these last few year, but I honestly think she's getting more inspired now than the last few years. I honestly think she got stiffed by mommy-hood and Nick. She was simply not into it anymore and more about the family. That's all good for her family, but all bad for her career and fans waiting for her to get inspired again. But watching these concerts I think she's finally getting her groove back in ways I've not seen since TEOM. She just need that one spark, that special song to get it started. Concerts (48,868) by Darryle from USA I don't know if anybody knows this but you can buy Mariah's concerts on YouTube. I just discovered it today. There is a youtube channel called The Orchard Movies where you can buy MTV Unplugged, Around The World, and Mariah Carey at MSG. I thought that was cool since they don't sell her DVDs in stores a lot of the times you have to buy them through Amazon or Ebay and then wait for them to arrive but now you can get them instantly. What Mariah should do to celebrate 25 years (48,867) by Darryle from USA We don't know what Mariah has planned for 2015 yet but one thing that's certain is that it'll be her 25th anniversary in the industry. I hope that she goes all out. I think she should remix the singles from the first album with all new vocals. Or at least remix Someday since it's the fastest song. She should have the album remastered and re-released on CD and vinyl. On the re-release she should include the demo tape she gave to Tommy and all the demos written in the 1990. She should also make a DVD copy of "The First Vision". Of course she should promote all of this like a regular album with sit down interviews and performances of her first singles on tv. I think regular promo would remind everyone that she's been here for 25 years, she's a legend and no one can replace her. (Thursday 1 January 2015; 0:32)

Time is ticking (48,863) by Edward from USA Mariah is going to be 45 in a few months. She is in not position to be taking a 5-year break, because as we all know, age plays a big factor in music these days, especially for women. After enjoying her well-deserved holidays, she should focus on getting in shape and working on her voice. For her 25th anniversary, she should release either an EP or an album with the best of her B-sides plus a few of the tracks that were left out of MIAMTEC. I'm one of those who think that she still has a great main stream album under her boobs. After that she could do whatever she wants without feeling any pressure, like a Jazz album, Gospel or even venturing into country, many of us love "Right to Dream" and "Help Me Make It". Before she turns 50, she should release at least 2 more albums, because after that things are going to get a little bit more complicated. Time is ticking. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 22:48)

She really went for notes and seemed to have really rehearsed. I was proud of those concerts. A definite move in the right direction. However, a few isolated concerts where there is 90% live singing, while good for her, still isn't A+ game. Perhaps you and I just have different standards for what constitutes A+. Mariah would have sung live at the actual event but then they would have been "tidied up" afterwards with her either re-singing parts or the vocals being fixed up in the studio. But this practice happened across the entire industry and was not unique to Mariah, everybody did it. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 8:37)

Pearl Palms Concert on Spotify (48,854) by ZachSingsMariah from USA Hey lambs, don't know how many of you have been to Mariah's Spotify page lately but you can now listen to the live recordings of her 2010 show at the Pearl in Vegas. She sounds amazing on some of these. I am particularly partial to the rendition of "Subtle Invitation". Definitely add that one to your playlists for the New Year. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 7:46)

The voice (48,853) by Darryle from USA I take for granted Mariah's voice so often. I never truly realized why people call her "The Voice" until this very day. I was watch the Tokyo Dome performance of Hero and I was just awestruck. Her voice is truly one of a kind. From her 5 octave range to her whisper voice to her full voice it's all amazing. She can so easily transition from full voice to head with the snap of her fingers. Her whistle register at its fullest practically sounds like she's communicating with birds. Her ridiculously underappreciated lower register can shake the ground. She's always given us 100% of her voice. She's eclipsed so many of her studio recordings and she's re-sang 100s of remixes. Then there's the fact that she performs some of the most daunting songs to ever be recorded, live on tour. I know sometimes I bash Mariah for the state of her voice but I'm truly grateful that she shares her incredible gift with me. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 7:37)

She barely brings her C+ game much less and A+ game. Instead of her and her fans worrying about the lessors and Ariana Grandes, attention needs to be paid to her own house. We can debate on the reasons all day, but until Mariah can sing well live and have a state presence that isn't uncomfortable to watch she will only, as she has been doing the last couple of years, slaying her herself, and not in a good way. I don't understand your logic: Mary ventured out and tried something new for her and has found great critical success. Even if the album flops, she has stretched artistically. She created music that fits her and her aging fan base. You speak as if Mariah is doing so well commercially, she needs whoever can help to save her. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 4:59)

Mariah is my favorite female vocalist, Madonna my favorite entertainer and usually fans of both are completely at odds with each other, which I've always found silly. Mariah and Madonna are not compatible, they don't need to be. It is the music and entertainment business, there should be room for everyone without feeling threatened all the time. More for "The Wind" (48,849) by Warrior Butterfly from USA I was floating around some Mariah tumblr's and found this gem. There is a entire section of classic Mariah mag transcripts, one that I really enjoyed is Full Effect issue #9 1991 "Mariah Carey reveals her Emotions", in it Mariah discusses "The Wind" and how WA came across it for Mariah's album Emotions. New album / Madonna (48,848) by Abraham from USA I only meant that Mariah should release an album up to the standard of the "TEOM". Not necessarily release one exactly like it. Although it would be nice to get some more 70's retro/soul type songs again. And as far as Madonna singing all live at her concerts is a lie. I saw some of her concerts from the "MDNA" tour and she lipped almost the entire show. She basically did more choreography than singing. Madonna has never been able to sing live. She's always lipped, and when she has sang live she sounded flat. I still like her though. She's "the queen of pop" and has a great legacy. (Wednesday 31 December 2014; 1:54)
