I disagree with you on this, I quote you "I haven't heard any single performance in this last tour that has any improvement in her voice". There has been improvement, just need to hear the first full concert of this tour online and comparing it with the last one, big improvement. Letting go, letting go (47,542) by May from Denmark And you know how the song goes haha. Orkun, I think you missed the whole bunch of comments when Mariah started her tour back in those days. I myself speculated and juggled some ideas, from a cold, to deep emotional issue, to her throat being damaged and her nodules stuff. Everybody added a bit of something of what it could be for them but it was clear there were some pretty awful messages, lots of negativity running at times, discussions that escalated to bad places. I'm already done and done with the idea of a re-release and such for her late album, I think it was a great album with some superb songs, some that I probably don't really bother much listening to (I already gave my list and opinion on each song when it came out, as I purchased my favorite ones on iTunes). But I would like to leave that era behind, she is clearly singing better every time and surely she has new songs under her sleeve. At this moment, I much rather have new material. Her previous album could have done amazing with a refreshing video for either YDKWTD or Meteorite, but it didn't happen and for me it's already past. I still enjoy the songs and will always but I would like to move on from that point, much like with Glitter, which I truly loved, from the photos, her sexyness, the danceable and uplifting songs to the sweet ballads, everything. I still love it and all but when it hit rock bottom that time as well, the best was to move on. Her come back was big, no doubt she could have it all again. (Wednesday 22 October 2014; 15:10)

On the same boat Marissa (47,540) by May from Denmark I have very little time today but I definitely will spend it writing this tiny post (holidays have been over, business is back). I've been reading the site, still haven't keep up with everything. I've been loving MC last videos, the very last one with the fan wow. I don't know how the girl kept it together, I would have fainted of excitement. I agree with you Marissa that her whistle register has always been there, pretty much was the sure thing she has always hit on stage, which I like every single time but I don't feel "that's what makes Mariah" for me, personally it has always been the powerful notes, the amazing belting, the angelic baby voice, the energy with which she performs, the whistle for me it's just part of the amazing combo. But I understand when you talk about her "full voice" kind of thing. But lately she has been singing so great, when she sang "Without you", one of my long time favorites, I almost died, it sounded so good. I'm very glad everything is working for her, so in the end, yes, this tour might end up in high notes, making it maybe more plausible the idea of an UK tour. I'm still hoping that such a thing will happen. I'm not concerned for tabloids because they are not my cup of tea but pretty sure they are more busy now with Renee Zellweger change of face, than anything positive about any celebrity. And I also agree about your reasoning why there are less posts. To some: who are the invisible haters? I haven't seen even one here. Without any judgement, looks like some are fighting their inner demon. Not with any of us. Who and where is the enemy? Its really funny. Some create unexisting haters and when Mariah hits a note, they think the haters are crushed. Maybe they are crushed indeed. Who knows? Again, to some people I say: if you wanna attack haters that actually do exist, why on this messegeboard? Maybe some of you have been ganged up against in other forums and left. And here you want to gang up against people who are not here. It's like searching for a pen at home which you lost in the grocery store. Surprise fan video in China (47,538) by 123 from USA I’m so stoked to see this video. She’s actually doing things she used to do during the Charmbracelet era and bring fans up who really went out of their way to see her. It think it's great that she chose China to do this for a fan, she has never toured the country except for one date in Shanghai in 2003. Who knows when she will tour there again? I hope that she continues to do this throughout the tour and do special things for fans around the world and video it. Before it sounded like damage, now it sounds like it was "unused" and thus, "unusable" at the time. She follows her gut which is the only way, and is the way she saves her voice. Of course we're all critical because Mariah had been nearly perfect our entire lives but this was just getting down right crazy. Mariah has been the guiding light in my life many times and I will always support her. No I am not a blind lamb, just loyal. People love to see people fall. Unfortunately that was happening here as well. Mariah please don't Gina way into hiding because you're older and not the same as you were when you were 18. So true (47,532) by Abraham from USA Where are the people who were negative and so sure that Mariah's voice was gone? Now that she's singing live and improving more and more, none of them have posted. But in all honestly, why should us who stayed believing care? I don't. I couldn't be more happier for Mariah. That voice is back and slaying. I never once doubted her. All she needed was to warm up. The live singing is retraining her voice. Ofcourse there is still some lipping and back tracking, but that's fine, she's getting there. She's been singing songs that many here believed she couldn't sing anymore. "Hero", "Without you", "Always be my baby". And she slayed "Hero" and "Without you" and "We belong together". I tell you all that I am so happy and proud of her. She will get better. She even seems confident on stage just like old times. I've shouted out messages here to Mariah. And I know it's kind of silly because I doubt she'll see them, but what the hell. Mariah keep it up. Mirage_Nunez and Randy are right, the least of fans concerns is her whistle register. That is the note that she can always hit. It shut the general public up because they don't know any better. For most of us, the whistle register isn't exciting anymore or the main reason why we're attracted to Mariah's music. It's the icing on top of her full voice. It's her full voice that is questionable, which wasn't addressed in that video. Just because she hit some whistle notes in a relaxed setting (where she always sounds good, it's the live performances that often fall apart) doesn't mean that her voice is in excellent condition or that her vocal instability no longer exists. I wish it was as simple as putting out a 30 second YouTube video and things becoming perfect again but it isn't. (Wednesday 22 October 2014; 1:58)

Some "fans" were getting cocky, feeling themselves as experts on her voice and appointing themselves life coaches; thinking they know every thing under the sun. Not as brave anymore, huh? Whistle notes (47,529) by Mirage_Nunez from America Randy, I actually personally know many people that think Mariah has lost her whistle register and that she never hits them live. As fans we know that if one thing Mariah can do, it's whistle, but I don't think the haters, the general public, or people who like her in passing know that. Which leads me to believe the video is redeeming in some way. I agree with you about prefering to hear Mariah's full voice being in great condition though. Whistle notes have always just being the icing on the cake for me, what I've always loved the most about her voice is the tone, agility, and emotion she sang with. I'd give my all for Mariah's voice to fully recover from whatever has happened to it and for her to solidify herself as a great live vocalist once more. I enjoyed her show recording so much (47,525) by Critter from USA I thoroughly did. At first I was a bit annoyed by the chit-chat of 2 female concert goers. Very soon, their chat actually became enjoyable. One went like, "She is doing a wardrobe change." "I love her", "I wish I could be her scarf." "So beautiful". Then she went on saying, "After seeing her sing, who would watch 're Alice's (a Chinese tv show)." One of them of course said of Hero, "What a great song" and the "encore, encore" with the strong accent. All added more to the recording. Thanks for posting. (Tuesday 21 October 2014; 7:37)

When CEO's play stupid (47,523) by nikki from usa First off, I'd like to point out almost 3 weeks ago I posted that Mariah had a cold and would gradually get better as she gets over it. I don't doubt emotional issues would also take a toll along with lack of sleep doesn't help. I claimed this would cause her healing to take awhile and as Mariah's vocals improved the press would simply stop talking about it because there was no way to bash her. So far, everything I said has transpired. What are we at now? Clothes? Next, Bartels doesn't think the fact the label didn't promote the album or any of its singles had anything to do with its performance? Seriously? Or the fact MC's own promotion was only marginally better? How about the fact her last music videos weren't even released? No manager or publicist. No major appearances. No Oprah, Ellen, Jay Leno. No live singing to promote the singles after Beautiful. Just for the sake of principle, I hope MC does a re-release and promotes it like she used to. How much you want to bet if she did that the album and singles sales would do better? Then, Steve will claim last year was just a "bad" time to release it. (Monday 20 October 2014; 23:57)

What is there to complain about? (47,521) by M from UK Forget the negative media, they're irrelevant. As fans we received a phenomenal album, rave reviews. Mariah looks great. Mariah seems to have recovered from what ever cold/allergies she had, her voice soon followed. It looks as though they are filming all the concerts which means a concert DVD release for next year perhaps. Her dancers have made it pretty clear to expect new music plus an era revamp or re-release. She shut the naysayers down as I hoped via the new "whistle video" and China fan tribute video. What is there to complain about? I know it's hard sometimes when haters like That Grape Juice and Wendy Williams do nothing but slam Mimi, but start enjoying her again instead of criticizing and analyzing. Actually, Randy (47,518) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada I recall back in the early 90's she'd hit the high note at every single song and by Can't Let Go she was so critizised that they even took the high note out of the radio/video version. Music Box saw MC using it scarcely and just as an adornment in Daydrem and Butterfly. Then everybody was so fond on the issue that MC's voice was going through a severe damage that by Rainbow she came back hitting high notes here and there, like if a high note meant something. I spent last night watching the full China concert posted in here trying to find the greatness some were pointing out. I couldn't find it. It was a mostly lipped concert. Live: Emotions, part of My All, part of ABMB and guess Hero and VOL in a way. You cannot almost hear her voice not because of amateur recording and the girl moaning oh oh the whole concert because in the rest of it you were able to hear her pre-recorded vocals. I don't get why if she's lipping she takes so long between songs and she's not even talking to the audience. She's been lipping too much since the Butterfly concerts still, but I guess this is the worst because when singing live, in the Buttefly tour she was hoarse and almost out of voice but still somehow in pitch, now, everytime she hits a few words live over the backup record, she sounds out of pitch and tempo. I haven't heard any single performance in this last tour that has any improvement in her voice. (Monday 20 October 2014; 21:30)

Imagine, it was filmed by a fan, how much better wouldn't Mariah sound if it was recorded professionally? But I love how candid it was and how the fangurling was so on point. Encore encore encore. Lambs at their best. It's obvious to me that MC is getting undeservedly bad press on account of a couple bad notes. I now even question the validity of those early 00:16 clips that starred the whole "Mariah can't sing anymore" meme that had the anti-lambs salivating at the possibility of Mariah losing her mojo. Does anyone else find it funny how Mariah is only accused of singing live when it's "bad" and never when it's good? I mean, some hobby-critics go as far as splicing one single performance into: live plus lipped and dubbed vocals to try and justify their often times logical conclusions. God forbid, once in a blue moon, Mariah Carey live would ever be capable of sounding like, oh I don't know, Mariah Carey on a record? (Monday 20 October 2014; 17:32)

Mariah's hair (47,516) by Lee TS from USA I hope this doesn't come off as ridiculous, well it is, but I'm not feeling her hair in the recent performances. She looked really beautiful, I think it was Yokohama with the side swept hair in soft waves. But during the China leg, her weave looks a bit raggedy especially the ends. According to Wikipedia, "From 2012, all solo performances in the pop category (male, female, and instrumental) were shifted to the newly formed Best Pop Solo Performance category.
