Elusive chanteuse show (47,250) by Patty from Germany
I love the new jazzy VOL and the black dress and if she came to Germany, I will do everything for the first row. More German fans here?

Come again? (47,248) by MimiLamb from Germany
I'm sorry but how can somebody that says "Don't ever call me a 'lamb'. It means 'deluded psychopath' to me. This is just beyond. Mariah fans are becoming more of a joke than she is." still be allowed to be on this board. This goes beyond giving an opinion or even giving criticism. This is disrespectful to every person on here. I try to not attack people as a person (as much as I can) but this goes way and beyond for me.

Go find another artist or diva to support (47,247) by D.D. from USA
If you're not a fan of Mariah Carey or her music, what are you still doing here? Go find another Katy, Christina, Britney whatever whoever to support, there are many to choose from. Seriously don't waste your time with all this negativity. It's not cute. Be nice or leave. Enough is enough already. I'm not trying to be mean but most of us are thinking it, I can't be the only one. It's not personal because I don't know any of you but this negativity has to stop. This is not at anybody specifically, it's at everybody that comes her to bash her. Just leave please. Only positive and supportive posts from now.

Mariah is human, just like you and me, people forget that sometimes (47,246) by D.D. from USA
I have been a fan of Mariah Carey's music for a long time. I am 33 years old, Libra. I am just grateful to listen to the music she creates, new or old. I will agree with her and others when saying that her music is the soundtrack to my life, there's always a song to relate to and enjoy. I wish people would just support her as the unique and talented artist that she is because that is what ultimately fuels the artist to keep making great music. Mariah is a genius in many ways, but musically she is in her element. She deserves credit for so much in music, most notably bringing hip hop to mainstream music. I don't think that she can do wrong in the studio, I pretty much like or love everything she's ever recorded. I think the best thing we could do as "fans" is to support Mariah, you watch video clips of her Elusive Chanteuse Tour and you can tell she is struggling and wants to deliver what the fans came for, and in my opinion she does deliver just by going to work during this difficult time in her life. Your heart just has to go out for her for being strong and moving on. My point is I love her music I don't care what anyone thinks. Her music helps me through the hard times in my life. I can listen to my (extensive) Mariah collection all day. We should all just chill and be supportive (nice) or leave. She is human and deserves more respect and support. Peace and I hope to be posting more often now that I have joined.

Opinions (47,245) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
I'm sorry, but I can't keep quit anymore. The last couple of days several people have stated their opinion and I'm OK with that, the good and the bad. But what bothers me is that fans who will support Mariah through thick and thin are called delusional or even "deluded psychopaths". We know you don't like Mariah's current voice, you've made your point over and over again, there is no need to keep telling us that several times a day. It's time for you to move on. You're only annoying other fans. And if want Mariah to stop singing, maybe it's time for you to stop being a fan. Fortunately Mariah still has fans who will support her, who keep believing in her, who wish the best for her and who hope Mariah will keep singing. After all, that's what fans do. And I am proud to be one of them.

Really? (47,244) by Andrew from UK
I find it hilarious that someone posts a video of Mariah's second concert where she is clearly lip-syncing and says "she's live, she's back". She's lip syncing. Don't ever call me a "lamb". It means "deluded psychopath" to me. This is just beyond. Mariah fans are becoming more of a joke than she is. She can't physically sing. It's time to stop. What a farce.

LC / stupid / the pressure cooker (47,243) by Edward from USA
LC, would you be kind enough to show me any instance where I have called/implied that anybody was stupid on this board? When all the chaos exploded related to her first show, I didn't say anything about it because it was evident the sentiment of most fans, not only here but basically everywhere. Whitney had an addiction, but we all knew that. Most of us felt for her and hoped for her recovery. Mariah has been having issues with her voice for 17 years now, and we have not clue other than some comment she made about her nodules, and our own speculations. If your boss knows your limitations, he won't ask you to do something you can't do, otherwise you shouldn't complain when he expects you to deliver. Mariah presents herself as "The Voice". Some of the harsh criticism she has received here the last couple of days has been years of frustrations in a pressure cooker. I don't believe some random people just showed up here to hate on Mariah, those who are complaining have supported her as much as anybody else. Tough love sometimes is much needed. Peace.

Lamb or fan? (47,242) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
I am a true lamb. Since 2005 there is not one day I don't keep updated. On a typical day I research Mariah Carey news, videos, music, and personal life over 20 times on average. I love her for her music and the fact I can relate specificately to hatsh upbringings. She was my friend I never had during that period of my life. I was bullied at school everyday to where education seemed extremely difficult and my family was a neglectful during that time. My only outlet with no friends was discovering that music even existed. I was 13 with no understanding of singers and basically no life. Mariah introduced me to music in singing form with her The Emancipation Of Mimi album. Masterclass album with a classy lady who overcame the stereotype of glitter. People said her career is over. She proved everyone wrong. She proved to a struggling 13 year old boy that there is always hope. I learned more from her than my family or school. So I appreciate everyone's concern but it only saddens me to see the loss of respect amongst certain fans. If you were in her shoes, what would you do? Would you work or would you stress about what everyone is saying and become depressed, eventually breakdown. Me, I prefer her to continue working without acknowledging certain concerns we all know she will fix on her own. She is continuing to prove the skeptors wrong and she continues to give me hope.

Second coming (47,241) by 123 from USA

So after watching, what were Mariah's worst performances, all of a sudden, she has a second show, she not only rested, but revitalized. She's not only singing live, but actually performing. I have only seen glimmers here in there for the past several years but last night was resurgence. What I noticed is that I have been witnessing a sad and depressed woman for the past year that is finally coming out of that. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to rise up again. Damn you Mariah, I should know better than to count you out. Because you always comeback. I'll be praying for her.

Drama, this, that, the other (47,240) by MimiLamb from Germany
I pray to God Mariah never read what has been written here the last few days. The way some are talking is disgusting and has nothing to do with being real or giving an honest opinion. The moment I would ever talk about Mariah like that is the moment I stop being a fan, it's that simple. I get so tired having to justify my support to Mariah, because the minute you do, you be called delusional or living in a bubble. If you rather focus on the negativity alone and think that will help, be my guest. I think there should be a balance between the positive and the negative. Would you improve your work ethic if your boss constantly puts you down, is rude and gives you no respect? Nobody can function like that. I read some messages that have positive criticism and I agree and think this could really help. They balance the negative with the positive. But I also read a lot of "so called" positive criticism but in truth is nothing more than pure hate. I know some think they are above the rest the minute they post here but like everybody else you share your opinion that is in no way worth more as another person's opinion. Like some fans use every excuse to justify Mariah's vocals, some of you use every excuse to be negative and harsh. This negativity is going to be the tone for quite some time here on this board and that is kind of sad to know.

What needs to be done (47,238) by juan from Dubai
As we are sure Mariah's legendary voice is not as flexible as before, it has not left. In fact it became richer in tone, soul, layers including rasp and scratches. but it became more sensitive and difficult to manage just like her projected persona. Mariah needs to listen. Needs to know what the people, the media, critics, new fans are saying based on what they are seeing at the moment. She can live based on her track record, but she cannot create new fan-base on what she shows right now. Fans/lambs, we know she still has the best voice up to this time, but lets face it, she needs to figure it out how she can stand on her title "The Voice". Even though the Yokohama performance is better, the voice is still definitely elusive.

Let it be (47,237) by David F from Mexico
I am a true fan and usually on my free time I like to clean my house or do help washing my clothes, well I play my Marian Carey CDs from the first to the last if I have more time of course, and as I listen the songs I sing them too, I find hard to sing the songs because I am not the same adolescent I am 35 years old but I love the writing and the music and the voice she puts to them. I understand her so well because she is like a bird that only brings the best when you don't expect it, she is working and like any job we make mistakes, but I love that she is enjoying the tour thing that is life for a musician seeing that they hear you sing is the greatest feeling and satisfaction, just don't expect her to be perfect because we are not, are you? And I think that she will continue getting better because she is awakening from all the bad situations by seeing that she is loved by the audience, any artist sense and needs to be loved that way, if you look close she is doing the best and I find the voice angelical, if not better I feel her spirit but I think her children are the reason she is working for and God will reward her for sharing the love messages and the ones in Asia you better enjoy it because this could be the last tour for them. Love and peace.

Can I just say thank you? Thank you for saying exactly what is on my mind everytime I read these boards. We are not wearing blinders, we know and have known what has been happening. That is all. But again, everything you said is everything I feel. So thank you.

My apologies (47,235) by Dove from USA
I apologize if I made anyone feel badly or unwelcome for sharing their opinion. I guess I just get defensive because Mariah Carey is such an integral part of who I am. When people attack her, I feel like I'm being attacked. I forgot that everyone's opinion has value, even the opposing ones that we don't like.

Cry. (47,234) by Andrew from UK
I have the utmost respect for Edward. I made fun of his postings about lists and encouraged people to list list. Because I personally think that an expression of joy in the *music* and the incomparable songbook is great. We all have lists. It is global, eternal and incomparable. Give me any other artist's fan and I will hit them with the Mariah songbook and it's popular music telling of the human condition. I honestly, reasonably have that argument to make. But I have to hit this home now. Because I love her. We need to address this as her fans - not "lambs". I honestly believe we need to start talking to her about where it is going. I can stop hurting you. I know I am. But please, if you could say something to Mariah now, if she was reading this, and I believe she does, what would you say to her? "It's awful but I love you, keep with the ridiculous behaviour? Love your lip sync. Love the look. Love the promo. Love the songs you barely feature on. Love that you can't sing your own songs." I feel, I *feel* the time is nigh to stop. To say: "Hi guys, I did it. I did it. Nobody else did that. But I can't lie anymore." I'm more heartbroken than all of you in my head. I'm with Anthony. I couldn't take people to her concert. Even the bogus UK ones posted here.

The ladies of the talk speaking like true lambs (47,233) by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
This clip sums up perfectly what is wrong with many of the comments this past weekend about Mariah's opening night in Tokyo. What does it say about you if casual fans and women employed to gossip have more compassion for Mariah than some of you so called "lambs" do? Maybe you need to downgrade to sheep and join the rest of the hatebrigade like all the other [censored] who are just waiting for Mariah to slip up so their lesser faves have a chance to be relevant.

I have never (47,232) by Anthony Basco from Cardiff, Wales
I have never said anyone is delusional and I wouldn't say that. And nor do I need to justify my opinions and feelings to you. I am expressing concern for someone who is my idol. I really love Mariah and always will, I just don't want her to take this lying down.

Love? (47,231) by B from USA
Am I the only one that noticed her voice broke during songs about love? She's heartbroken and upset which affects her voice. Her pride is wounded. And now her fans are turning their backs because of two 15 seconds clips. Give her the benefit of the doubt. She's still Mariah freaking Carey. I'm ashamed that she's not given the respect an artist of her caliber deserves.

Should Mariah go public with her vocal issues? (47,230) by Lyric from USA
I have been wondering if the fanbase would be satisfied if Mariah said something about her current vocal state, maybe through social media or just uploading a response to YouTube. Rather than constantly trying and failing to cover up her vocal decline, I sometimes think she would be better off being honest about what's going on. I want to know if her condition is beyond repair or reversable, has she done vocal coaching, etc. Some of you will say Mariah doesn't owe us an explanation and the proof is in the pudding. But as an artist with such a close connection with her fans, how can opening up to us be a problem? With everyone speculating about the nodule operation, it'd be great if Mariah just addressed that herself. Adele went public with her vocal issues and the media and public were very supportive. Mariah frustrates folks because she continues to pretend she is in her prime when she isn't. I also think the recent media attacks are indicative of something. Perhaps Mariah is not as well-liked as she should be and I want that to change. She seems unrelatable and the general public isn't interested in her as a persona. Perhaps if she opened up about the vocal issues, she'd come across more human and she'd have people's sympathies. Either way you look at it, someone losing their talent is a sad thing. I think Mariah could reconnect with the general public by being more natural and discussing her vocal issues like Adele did.

The voice of a generation (47,229) by Otti from Belgium
I think people are overreacting here on this board. Give this woman a break please. We all now that this era is not the best. I hoped that this Asia tour would turn out positive and make things better. Yes indeed she don't sounds like in the 90's, and I don't expect that, look at Whitney or Celine, they don't sound like the 90's either. And I think Mariah has a more fragile voice, what makes singing harder. She went on this tour in Asia, just because she is still respected and loved there. I think it's hard being Mariah Carey, everytime she does something bad, people are ready to bring her down. [...]

Confusing part / vocal nodules (47,228) by Manny from U.S.
I'm confused. Why is it that the fans that did not go to the concerts are the ones attacking Mariah. Some "fans" are just rude. You can be "realistic" or "blunt" without being insensitive. I have read different comments on this message board, others and YouTube. The people that were at the concerts talk more positively. Just something that caught my attention. Mariah has said she has had vocal nodules since she was a little girl. On YouTube I watched videos on nodules and you see how irreversible the damage is. With the nodules, there is a threshold on the vocal range and it'll crack on certain notes. Another doctor online said they're like a calluses on the vocal cords. The cords are supposed to be flexible to vibrate and made sound. Who knows how bad Mariah's are? If I was a singer and my doctor old me I can get a surgery to remove them with the risk of not singing or even talking, I wouldn't get the surgery. People say there's new technology but there is risk for any surgery. Vocal cords are real sensitive. I'll like to be more compassionate towards Mariah knowing her instrument has the nodules. If it has bothered you since 1998 that her voice is not good, then maybe Ariana can be your new Mariah. And why did it take so long to stop being a fan?

Andrew, Anthony, Stephen, Edward and whoever else (47,227) by LC from USA
Do you really think all the lambs besides you and those who agree with you are stupid? I mean, really. You don't think we know the condition she's in? The condition she's been in for more than a decade? You really think that we think everything is perfect and good with Mariah's voice? You think that we don't know and haven't known that Mariah's voice today isn't even close to her voice in her prime? Wow. Maybe you should use your favorite word "delusional" on yourselves, instead. We know. We know she lip syncs. We know that she cannot hit the notes like she could in her heyday. We all heard and watched the same videos you did. She sounded bad. Really bad. She delivered some of the worst vocals of her career. But the difference between we "delusional" ones and you? We are here to support, understand. Not bash, ridicule and disrespect Mariah Carey. We care about Mariah, the person, not just the singer. And, contrary to your belief, we are not "delusional". We know that Mariah isn't at her best and we all wish she would confront her issues and get better. But we still respect her and her artistry. I know that everything you are saying is coming from a loving place, as from all of us. But, some of the things you say are borderline disrespectful, distasteful and rude. That's all I'm trying to say.

Marissa, Andrew / the voice (47,226) by Edward from USA
Marissa, I agree with your last post. Andrew may have been harsh, but he is a fan like most other fans out there expressing his frustrations. And I don't believe he is a hater at all, if he were, why bother posting anything at all. Excuses like: "she's married now, she has two kids and a husband, she's getting a divorce, the weather was horrible, the altitude was different from the one in the US, she's jet lagged, she didn't sleep well, she didn't rest her voice, her boobs were pressing too hard against her chest, she couldn't hear herself, she had the flu, she had a cold, she had laryngitis, she farted, got out of air and couldn't hit that note" are starting to sound ridiculous. Any great singer has his/her bad days, but when it comes to Mariah most of us are nervous every time she performs even if it is a single song. I hope she does something, because the situation is so bad she cannot even harmonize the regular part of her songs.

Sharon Osbourne and hosts of The Talk support Mariah (47,225) by M from UK
Today the ladies of The Talk tackled the fan attack Mariah saw this week after seeing 15 seconds Instagram clips where she failed to hit a high note. Sharon Osbourne says, "If she'd have wanted to, she could have mimed the whole thing. She chose not to, so obviously she didn't know her voice wasn't up to par. To say retire now is ridiculous. Everybody has a bad night." To see the full segment, visit CBS's The Talk YouTube channel.

I would like to know about Yokohama (47,224) by Lee from USA
I mean, people on this site said that she improved her voice in this concert. On Wendell, he/she is not an example of honesty. This drag queen said that Beyoncé had an abortion and Will Smith was gay. And Wendell never mentions anything when her favorite artists or celebs fall short. I don't see how no one talks about the show that she sounded great in yet ramble about the one that she misses the high notes.
