Another list but with original twist MC v. Whitney (46,962) by TiffMelody from USA
These 2 ladies are known for their iconic voices and their "divafied" ballads, despite having a diverse catalog, their career are more similar than you think.
1. Both have happy-in-love song with word emotion in title. Whitney - So Emotional. MC - Emotions.
2. Both have inspirational believe in yourself ballads. Whitney - Greatest Love of All. MC - Hero.
3. Both have children featuring on their record. Whitney - My Love Is Your Love. MC - Supernatural.
4. Both made iconic holiday theme albums. Whitney's is known as best selling gospel album but is based on holiday movie, and MC's is just simply the go-to best selling Christmas album. Whitney - The Preacher's Wife. MC - Merry Christmas.
5. Both made a duet with a film reference in its title (lol). Whitney - Same Script, Different Cast with Deborah Cox. MC - It's a Wrap with Mary J. Blige.
Last one drum roll please. 6. Both took a a relatively unheard of country song and covered it so that nobody can cover it again. Whitney - I Will Always Love You. MC - Without You.

Mariah's best gospel songs (46,961) by Quaid Long from USA
Anyone fancy another list? Lol. Anyway, I was thinking last night about how great it would be (somewhere down the road in her career) if Mariah released a full-on gospel album, sort of like Whitney's "The Preacher's Wife" soundtrack, which endures as one of my faves to this day. Mimi's Gospel (working title, haha) could include some of her past gospel tracks, plus some brand new ones (which could include standards, covers, and brand new songs written by her). My favorite Mariah gospel songs thus far (in order):
1. Fly Like a Bird
2. When You Believe
3. Heavenly (NWT/CGUN)
4. I Am Free
5. O Holy Night / O Come All Ye Faithful
5. Jesus (Oh What a Wonderful Child)
6. I Wish You Well

It's been a minute since I've posted. I just wanted to say I'm still enjoying the album. Actually now more than before simply because now I understand what she may have been going through. Wendy Williams is a hater. It's like she is still being paid to talk bad about MC like its 2001. I think she's bitter because MC gives her like zero attention. I honestly think MC and Nick will get back together. Unless Nick has actually cheated on MC on top of all of the stuff he was saying about past personal relationships. I don't think people actually realize what a sensitive spirit MC is. She is strong yes but us, as fans, know more than anyone that MC is just a strong yet fragile creature. I can't wait to see footage from the upcoming shows and also hear new material. It's sad that people don't see MC is a down to earth individual just simply living her dream that can be nightmarish at times. Anywho, she always pulls through. It actually wasn't until Glitter and her showing that she is in fact a real person and not a robot, that I became a huge fan. And I also don't think she is that "diva" part that she plays up. It's all in fun and not serious. I think once folks realize that what they see is a perception of reality and not the actual reality, it will be too late for everyone. Because if "they" own the media they can bend it all they want.

Lists (46,959) by Marissa from USA
I think this is by far the funniest uproar that has ever been on this messageboard. I usually don't care about lists. My only issue was that these aren't our usual "top 5" lists that are tolerable "in bulk" so to speak, and so many people were making lists at one point that they were outweighing discussions. Even if you did scroll away, you were just bound to run into another one. For me personally, I wasn't legitimately pissed or trying to silence anyone. It was just a funny observation that every time I turned around someone was making a list. Bill, I'd rather see people write "top 100 MC songs" before another Ariana discussion.

Through The Rain (46,958) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Although it was a minor hit in most major music markets, this ballad was a hit in Asia, particularly the eastern part. It was a huge hit in our country, and has singlehandedly pushed the album towards achieving platinum status. Its inspirational nature and message seemed a logical way to go after the Glitter debacle, and was one of the reasons why it's just as popular as Hero here. In fact, it has spawned a several covers from local artists, and is also a staple in karaoke bars and amateur singing contests. Yes, her voice during the verses is thin and airy, but to me, that adds to its appeal, and her performance that climax just makes you forget about that and just brings it home. My favorite thing about it is the way it perfectly exemplified the humility, honesty, ease, and grace that characterized the whole Charmbracelet era. Sadly, this track is often overlooked, but not now, at least for every lamb it has uplifted and given hope. Happy 12th anniversary, Through The Rain.

Tarraga, I won't throw shade at anyone on this board. You said you were looking for fellow NYC lambs. I live 2 hours away from NYC. You're always welcomed to contact me: monroe0626@yahoo.com

The Roof (46,956) by Michele from USA
I always took The Roof to mean the night she met Derek Jeter. It was in November 1996 at the Fresh Air Fund's Fall Frolic Auction that I believe the two met for the first time. Obviously, she was still married to Tommy at the time, so she might have embellished on the lyrics such as "and I surrendered as you took me in your arms".

The Art Of Letting Go / hilarious list drama (46,955) by Martyn from England, UK
I absolutely adore this song. When I first heard it, I was disappointed because I didn't (and still don't) think it's a "single", it's more of a standout/"blow you away" album track. I actually wish I'd have heard it for the first time in the context of the album instead of a single. Additionally, I love it as the closing track on the album, I just wish it wasn't a bonus track and didn't come after the (bizarrely added) Memoirs throwaways.
Andrew from the UK, you have summed up everything I feel about this hilarious list drama. If people really "didn't care" about the lists, they wouldn't be leaving shady little comments. Let's just live and let live, and leave the subtle shade throwing to MC, shall we?

About the lists and JLo (46,953) by Randy from USA
I've been on this board for years and I've noticed that the lists start to appear whenever there's little going on with MC. Right now she's about to tour, everywhere but her home country, which is understandable because we're fickle and nitpickers, so there's no new album, single or television appearance. And let me put this out there. She completely dropped this album. It sold more than JLo's initially and yet JLo is still releasing singles and making appearances. MC has just disappeared. When MC has a new project, and I'm not talking about a perfume or beverage (shade), coming out, then the lists will disappear as they always do. And finally, I looked at the favorite songs list and not one fan mentioned what is my favorite song of all time, Right To Dream. A little sad.

To list or not to list... (46,951) by MimiLamb from Germany
I must say I'm not a big fan of these lists, but I just scroll by them because for others it's something great and they like to share it, that is what this messageboard is all about. We all have freedom of speech, it doesn't matter if you are from the US or Europe the same rules apply. It's not that big of a deal yet it's mentioned in a not so nice way. So others say something back, but don't go there because then it's ridiculous and what not. I do feel that some think they know it all and are above the rest, but I just choose to ignore it and skip by it as much as I can. Maybe we all should do that instead of mentioning it and therefore creating a not so nice discussion, it gives a very unpleasant vibe.

Shelly (46,950) by Abraham from USA
Hi Shelly, nice seeing you post. How are you? Glad you like "TAOLG" as well. I think everything about the song is perfect. When I saw the tracklist to the album I was disappointed that it wasn't on the standard version And wondered why it wasn't on there as well. I bought the deluxe simply for the song. I'm also disappointed that there weren't any new tracks for it, which tells me Mariah probably more and likely saved the remaining songs she has for the next album. Hopefully? But I still think she could have still added something other than 2 tracks from the last album. Still, I think "MIAM" is one of her best. It's not bad at all.

Re: video (46,948) by nikki from usa
Yes, actually that's part of the reason I put it up. The other one was a gossip trying to put them together as a couple by replaying the same hug and peck back to back as if it happened numerous times. This one explains MC's support of the movie and The Rock spotting her for a quick hug. Basically, it shows what actually happened instead of the gossip's embellishment. I understand if you don't want to clutter up the board with the same stuff, but I just wanted to say my part. I think it's unfair the media gets to distort the truth and no one ever gets to see the objective pieces. That's all.

You guys are funny (46,947) by Dove from USA
I feel like I'm on here with my brothers and sisters; the way we bicker, and pick on each other, and the shade. I miss you all when I don't come on for a while. We all have some fun-to-read posts and some more boring posts. How boring would it be if people stopped posting altogether, though? Variety is the spice of life. In other news: Whitney Houston's best performances DVD is coming out in a few months. Wouldn't it be awesome if Mariah came out with a greatest performances DVD/CD?

TAOLG (46,946) by Dove from USA
I love TAOLG, in my opinion, it's one of the best songs from this era. I wonder why she decided to leave it off the standard version of MIAMTEC.

The Roof (46,945) by Lee TS from USA
I can appreciate the song for Mariah's writing but I've never been a huge fan of the song. Don't hate me I know it's one of the fan's favorite album cut. Question, when she sings, "It wasn't raining yet, but it was definitely a little misty on that warm November night." It's sexual right? Lol.

List like you've never listed before (46,944) by Andrew from UK
Considering that everybody posts on to a site where one sole person decides if he likes what you have to say in order for it to be shown to everyone else, this probably isn't the place to talk about "freedom of speech". Most first world countries have freedom of speech within a legally permissible framework. You siding with someone saying lists are "boring" and stoking an us-vs-them battle is immature at best. That's how infants try to make people like them. People are writing lists to express joy at their idol at a time when there's really not much reason to express joy. Let them write lists. Let them eat cake. List people. List. "Never ever listen to anybody when they try to discourage you; they do that. Believe me." List list list. Tick boom.

Edward / ridiculousness (46,943) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Thank you for handling the response to this nonsense. I never said that people shouldn't post lists. It's cool if they want to, I do tend to just scroll past them anyway. However, I can exclaim my disdain or disinterest in these posts if choose to do so. It's not that deep, it's not that big a deal, so people should just get over it and continue posting their lists if that's what they want to do. However, if I want to yawn every time I see them, or you want to make a joke based on the sheer amount of them we've had to endure recently, then that's our prerogative. And as for someone saying we are the reason they don't post much, seriously, go grow a pair.

Just For Fun (46,942) by Dove from USA
This astrology chart compatibility calculator has been frighteningly accurate for me with my past relationships. I did Mariah and The Rock, and according to their charts, they would not make a good long term couple. Maybe I just like him because he's a Taurus and so am I. Whenever I think about him I get flustered, I can't help it, it's happening now. I would love to see them on screen together.

Thanks / thoughts (46,940) by Abraham from USA
Thanks to all of you who responded to my question regarding "TAOLG". Ryan, Yuan, Xaiver. Especially you Willyc95, for posting those videos. That was nice of you, I really appreciated that. Mimi L. and Nikki I agree. And feel the same way about the song. I love it. I can repeat it non stop. Tarraga, your post literally made me laugh. I don't really have any problems with Edward. I sometimes enjoy his posts. Stephen on the other hand, not so much. Like you stated, everyone has the right to post whatever they want. I for one have never been bored with anyone's posts. I like finding out other fan's favorite songs or opinions of Mariah. I love this messageboard. I wouldn't have known the release date for Mariah's album. At the end of the day, I love all lambs. But only the ones who respect and support Mariah. The ones who put her down or disrespect her are not fans.

Tarraga / welcome to NY (46,939) by Edward from USA
Tarraga, I haven't attacked anybody, nor have I gone on anybody's throat on this board for stating their opinion. I never told anybody not to write lists, yet I can express myself if I'm tired of them. Yes, I wrote the longest list, but I was being funny, since my list consisted of Mariah's whole catalog, I guess only my UK boyfriend Stephen caught that, right? In this country, the US, we do have freedom of speech, so drop your colonizing attitude because we don't have Tainos here for you to exterminate. I never called KeShawn names, or even addressed him, and for your information, I've never been censored on this board, just like you were censored on your previous message for being an a*hole by being disrespectful. If Steven and I are the reason you rarely post here, you must be high on something because we are not trouble makers here. I will start posting more often from now on; it is always nice seeing you around. Not.

Re: Abraham (46,937) by nikki from usa
I love The Art Of Letting Go. I never understood the negativity from fans on this board when she released it. We've been asking for a bare vocals and piano song, and she delivered. Poor girl can't win for losing. But, I loved the song it was inspiring. Sometimes, the vocals and mood of the music is far more important. There's beauty in simplicity and raw emotion. As for the Rock, I wouldn't worry about it. I think it would be great if they became buddies because they have so much in common. Not so much the dating. Mariah is still married and he's been in a long term relationship for awhile now. MC has so many friends in the music biz I think she should gain some more outsides that circle. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see Mariah and The Rock in a comedy together or something James Bond related.
(Wednesday 24 September 2014; 20:28)
I'll leave you everytime for Mariah (46,936) by nikki from usa
Although, a lot of the media are now trying to pair MC and The Rock as a couple, MC was basically supporting the movie for her friend Brett Ratner. The Rock's a fan.
