Enwar (44,479) by B from USA
I love Dedicated. I hope it's a future single. Faded is OK.

Calm down (44,478) by B from USA
I love the album. I think it can do well with word of mouth and the right single. You Don't Know What To Do or Make It Look Good would hopefully explode on the radio. Both songs have that summery feel good vibe. By the way, albums don't sell like they used to.

Enwar (44,477) by Licia from USA
Faded is definitely in my top songs I play more than once in a row with Supernatural, Thirsty, One More Try, You Don't know What To Do, and Heavenly. I like Dedicated, but I'm not in love with it yet.

Louie Baltazar (44,476) by Lainsky from Philippines
Hey man, where are you from in the Philippines? Just want to connect with fellow lambs. Feel free to send me an email or I can write you. I just don't know how to make a link here without broadcasting my email add. Hope to hear from you, thanks.

Exactly. What is so ridiculous about the dress? Stupid article.

Faded and Dedicated (44,474) by enwar00 from usa
Is anyone else in love with these two songs? After a week now with MIAMTEC, they're my early favorites.

Carlos (44,473) by Mara from United States
Carlos you verbalized my thoughts exactly. I could not have said it better myself. When you use something for over 20 years, it gets wear and tear. Period. Everything on Mariah's album is her. That is all I really care about. I wish people would stop over analyzing this subject too.

The Elusive Chanteuse (44,472) by Badr from USA
I know it might be a bit late to share my opinion on the new album. Well, I seriously believe it's by far her best effort since TEOM. It's actually up there with Music Box, Daydream, and Butterfly. While listening to the album for the first time, I was brought back in time. I felt as if I were listening to songs from the 90s ("Camouflage", "Faded"). Her voice is as powerful as ever, and so is her songwriting ability. I admire how she can sing low in one line and high in the next one. I think musically this album is a step forward. She dropped the typical musical arrangements and instruments and actually experimented with sounds. The Elusive Chanteuse also has some of the most emotional performances ("One More Try", "Cry."). I still don't understand why they picked what is in my opinion the weakest song in the album as the second single ("You're Mine"). I think "Thirsty" is not the best shot either. I can actually visualize "YDKWTD" or "Money" charting high. These songs sound effortlessly fresh and appealing. Some other remarkable moments are the intro to "Make it...." and "Heavenly". I wish "TAOLG" hadn't been demoted to a bonus track, it's one of her finest pieces of work ever, IMO. The only awkward moment is "Supernatural", but the climax of the song is good. Unfortunately, the CD's poor commercial performance was evident, due to "YM" and the limited promotion. I wish Mariah wakes up and fights to make this project another memorable era. The album deserves it.

Meteorite (44,470) by Will from Australia
Great post Alexis etc. I was listening to Meteorite and acknowledging the similarities between it and Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise) which correct me if I'm wrong started as the dance track first before the ballad. Wonder if she'll record a ballad version of Meteorite

Ball gown at the park (44,469) by Licia from USA
That E Online article really bugged me. Mariah was not outside in a ball gown. She had on a regular dress outside playing with her children. There was nothing over the top or too glamorous going on. Whomever wrote the article obviously has no idea what a ball gown is. I swear she can't win for losing with the media.

YDKWTD video? (44,468) by Me. I am Carly from USA
Heard from another fan forum that a dancer posted about being in the "You don't know what to do" video. Here is hoping it is true. I really hope she did something fun, Mariah is so about fun eternally. Probably be some skates. Mariah looks stunning so we may get some cute colorful outfits, maybe switch up from the gowns.

"Spending thousands of dollars?" (44,467) by Louie Baltazar from Philippines
Where are the receipts? You can say what ever you want but you're just a fan for almost 20 years. Ranting is still not your privilege because you're just a fan. Rant if you're producing one of Mariah's album, at least one. For now focus on promoting this new great album. Otherwise just stay calm and stay quiet.

Saving this era? (44,466) by Keagon michael from USA
Me I am... will debut with 50,000 copies sold in the USA. How sad but I get people are not buying music like they used to, but where is the promotion? No hit single and no promotion could equal a waste of Mariah's masterpiece. Which took 5 years to make. And now it will flop worse that MOAIA. Unless she and Def Jam do payola at radio for YDKWTD, there is no saving this era in my opinion. Her team should have her scheduled on Ellen, Fallon, The View, Conan, ettc and yet she is busy going to the park in a dress with dembabies. I just don't think she cares anymore. The general public could care less about this album. Wow. I am so sad for Mariah's legacy, because this album is too good not to remember her for.

More reading than a school library (44,465) by Marissa from USA
Yas Alexis Carrington. You read the life out of some of these delusional idealists on here. If you have even a slight critique you will be accused of being negative. Like you said, there are many of us who've earned the right to be able to speak our minds. I just need people on here to accept that people are going to share their opinions regardless of whether it's perceived as negative or positive. There will never be a time on this messageboard or any messageboard where everyone will be singing Mariah's praises 24/7. There's nothing that can convince me that Money and Heavenly weren't at least 95% lipsynched (I'm aware that WBT was live). They sounded exactly like the album versions. I know some people don't want to believe that she lip synched a gospel song, but from my observations she and that choir were lipping for the Lord.

Re. Alexis, being negative vs being real (44,464) by Joe from United Kingdom
Thank you for your post. It gets tired when an honest lamb says the truth and because other people choose to believe in this live/lipped trickery and we don't were accused of not being true fans. If they choose to believe that's fine. I don't think there any less of fan because of it so I don't understand that because we know the reality of what is live and what clearly isn't were suddenly being non-fans or being negative. Our ears are cleaned out good and well thank you. That's my final word on this subject.

Money concerts / Tommy Mottola (44,463) by nikki from usa
I give credit to Tommy for promoting Mariah, but that's about it. As the head of a label that's his job for everyone on his roster. I'm glad MC is being given more credit for her output, but I still don't think its enough. He didn't seem so much of a strategist as an opportunist. Celine Dion and Shakira both had multi million dollar sales and fan bases before he signed them. J. Lo was already known for movies, had a background in dancing, and emerged her with the latin explosion. Then, had to jack Mariah's stuff to keep her afloat. Even Beyonce and DC had been together since their tweens and had already been through a record label. After he was fired, what happened? He tried to make his wife a new star and that flopped. He took over Casablanca records and tried lifting that off the ground with Lindsay Lohan. I'm kind of shocked that the general populace seems to not understand that tours have to be paid for. Generally speaking, an artist only takes home about 10% of the tour gross. That's if they're smart and don't overspend which MJ and Madonna were/are known to do. I don't know what MC's take home is these days, but in the 90's she was making $3/cd, so it wasn't needed for her to tour. She still doesn't since she's wealthy, but I think she should. During CB tour she said it helped her voice. It might be easier to be more hands on with maintenance when you know you have to constantly sing.

Mariah's health (44,462) by Benjamin Fisher from United States
Does anyone else think Mariah seems really tired and flustered sometimes in recent interviews? I wonder sometimes about her health. She seemed great last summer, was in really great shape, and seemed really ready to put his record out. But then everything got derailed by her injury on the set of that "Beautiful" remix video. Maybe Mariah's having difficulties balancing spending time with her kids and getting this record out. And I wonder sometimes about her mental health. I remember everything she went through during the 2001-02 period and wonder sometimes if she is taking good care of herself. I'm not really happy with the lip-synching either. But I wonder sometimes if she does it because there is no other choice (besides just not putting out an album or risk damaging her voice or losing it completely). Most of us are aware that her voice got really damaged in the 90s by that relentless pace she kept up. I wonder if she lip-syncs because she has to, on orders from her doctors maybe? I look at her latest interviews, and I see someone who looks exhausted and frustrated.

You don't know how to do / Alexis (44,461) by nikki from usa
You should attempt to comprehend before flying off the handle. The point wasn't Mariah's always singing live, the point is you're not going to know unless you were there one way or the other. Yes, I've been to several of her live performances and watched her nail it live and come back here to see how so many of you "can tell" it wasn't. That is the point. Once again, I have already stated she did well in '95, but doesn't change the fact it was dubbed. Furthermore, when the footage/audio is altered, it isn't up to Mariah. "Mariah" isn't the one editing and producing every show or concert she's on and isn't the one to call the final shots. Knowing her tracks is irrelevant. It can always be added later if they think her voice sounds too thin live and then you say she's lipsyncing because you recognize the same vocal from the track. Unless you were there, you don't know it went down like that.

Carly (44,460) by Lee from USA
I know, right. I always thought RS (or BS) was on someone's payroll. TEOM got 3 stars and ended up with three Grammys and selling more than 40 million copies worldwide. All of the people that liked Mimi has left and doing bigger and better things. All the goats are stuck there and are killing the magazine with cover stories about terrorists and skanks.

Everyone, shut the bleep up about stuff you don't know about (44,459) by Carlos Jaramillo from USA
How moronic are all of you that continue to make a big deal about her singing live. If you like the album and cringe at the dubbed performances, then, just buy the album and always change the channel. That's it. Don't so openly spread your abounded ignorance relative to her abilities. And all of you that believe that "any" of that concert was sung live, please don't quit your day job and never pick up a part time or interest in video and musical editing/engineering. You will starve, 98% of you. Mariah Carey has been belting incomparable notes, even live, for 20 some odd years. She's over used her voice. When the larynx has been taxed at her level, it loses its "consistency". Regardless, every single thing that you hear on that album, Mariah was able to vocalize, "in a controlled setting"; and maybe even after 4000 takes. Sure, they clean up here, use intonation devises there but, "she" does every riff, vocal change, audible inflection, etc. She's just "no longer" able to do them, the perfect connections and takes, all at one time. She must have to keep the voice fresh, takes breaks in between held notes, paste together conjoining riffs to assimilate one long one, etc. etc. Who cares? Who? Hello, its called "art". She has nothing else to prove. She will "never" sing live the way she sings on the album. The sooner we stop being so damn delusional and, stop talking about what we are not educated on, the sooner we can go back to talking about things that matter. The music.

Rolling Stone 3 stars (44,458) by Me. I am Carly from USA
Rolling Stone gave Mariah 3 stars. They gave her the same for Butterfly. There is no lack of success and applause for this album. Oddly TEOM recieved less.

You all don't know what to do (44,456) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
Mariah's voice is rough, I got that. I would rather wince a few times at her concert than applaud wildly for a mimed/dubbed performance. We've yet to hear a live performance of any song from this album. For you pious lambs, you keep saying that there is no way any of of us can prove that she is lip-synching because we're not audio techs, we weren't there, etc. Well, with that same logic, can you prove that she didn't lip synch? Were you there? Were you in earshot of her singing that you can prove sounds were coming out of her mouth? I'll wait. And to the fans bringing up her home concert releases, yea they were dubbed, but you can listen to the bootleg of MSG 95, and she slayed for life, in some cases better than the dub. I've yet to see any proof of MTV Unplugged being dubbed. And not all of her tv performances have been dubbed. Many of the night shows are live. She may have done more than one take but there isn't time to dub.

Pull down those Tom Fords and act like you see (44,455) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
Some of you lambs (I grow more and more turned off by that title these days) remind me of atheists. Some atheists are so zealous in proving that there is no God that they proselytize like religious folks. It is a great hypocrisy. You so called faithful lambs are so quick to play the martyrs and saviors of Mimi that you jump all over objective fans with allegations of being disloyal, suggestions of finding another diva, or claims of being incompetent. The gag is that you then complain that objective fans are being negative. I've been a fan for nearly 20 years, spent thousands of dollars and hours being Team Mariah. Therefore, I'm entitled to rant, rave, and praise her however and whenever I want. See, when you've been in the trenches with Mariah (Glitter, Charmbracelet), you were requesting Boy (I Need You), buying multiples copies of Loverboy, you've earned your seat at the Mariah discussion table. There is no way you can be a serious fan of Mariah's and not be able to tell her live, vs dubbed, vs completely lipsynched performances. Many of us have listened to her music so much that you literally know all of her songs in detail. So when Mariah does a certain note a real fan can tell if it's from the album version they've listened to 10,000 times or if it is mysteriously lowered a step or octave.

Why doesn't Def Jam promote Mariah? What's going on and so I guess this is Mariah's last album with them. I am just a successful era.
