Rainbow era (43,449) by Billy from England, UK
Just watching that video of Mariah during the Rainbow era. She looked so stunning then. She looked her best I think.

Japanese cover (43,448) by Paul from Usa
I personally think is gorgeous and probably the most natural picture of her I've seen in some time, and sticks to the theme of all her albums, a close up portrait shot. I love it. To the person who said Mariah was bloated on Letterman, you're wrong. [censored] I really think something in her personal life is off track. I don't mind the extra weight, but with that comes an array of health issues.

Me. I am Mariah analysis / Monarch control / illuminati (43,447) by PJW from The U.K.
Thanks for the video Gilbert. Agreed, it's very interesting. I've thought for a long while that it's evident she's a lot of issues around the absence and disconnect of her father, her image and overt sexuality being one of the symptoms. I think I've mentioned it in the past, but her psychology is incredibly interesting and, I find, quite sad. I feel for her. I'd be very interested to read the posts about the monarch control too. I've been aware of the hints she's dropped and subliminal messages in her work r.e. the "illuminati" over the years but not a lot of people talk about it in regards to Mariah and the trauma it's obviously caused her (as opposed to how much it's debated about other artists). She presents it quite clearly in some videos/live performances but I bet there's a lot people haven't picked up on.

Lamb (43,446) by Gilbert from USA
You are most welcome. I'm glad the webmaster was able to post it for me. Hopefully he places some input as well. He made really good points and had his facts together and what's interesting I was watching a Mariah Carey pool side interview back in 1997 and she states when my parents divorced I was 3 and a half and shortly after I came across the video.

Album drawing video (43,445) by Chicago Lamb from USA
Thank you Gilbert. Awesome video. I hope Mariah does get to see it. I think she'd appreciate his interpretation very much.

Moments (43,444) by Loris from Italy

Her catalogue has aged very very well. Her first album is still very enticing, and I couldn't say the same about the first Madonna record. I don't even mention Dangerously In Love by Beyonce. Let's take some moments to celebrate Mariah lyrics and sublime classics like Breakdown, Underneath The Stars, Vision Of Love, Emotions, Butterfly, Slipping Away, My Saving Grace, Open Arms, Fourth Of July, Music Box, Anytime You Need A Friend, Bliss. Bye.

Mariah's image (43,443) by Jeremey Carey from United States
I honestly loved almost everything Mariah wore during American Idol. She looked flawless during the live shows. I honestly don't care when she shows cleavage, but there should be a limit. The Bet Honors was a bit much, but she was going for the Jessica Rabbit look. I love to show Mariah off for looking ageless. Last year whenever I asked my friends they always thought she was in her mid 30s. But now since her face looks bloated, she's starting to look her age to me. We are concerned fans, but we also need to be respectful to one another and Mariah with our opinions. I love her no matter what. I just hope with whatever decision she makes, it's a healthy one.

Album drawing video (43,442) by Gilbert from USA

There is a member on here, I don't remember his name, but he mentioned Monarch Control and the drawing of Mariah. I wanted to post this here because I really felt that this was interesting to hear his interpretation of Mariah's drawing. It wasn't negative in anyway but very very interesting to hear him explain the drawing. Don't be afraid to check, just to have an open mind. I'm curious to see what others think of this video. Again, I found it very interesting.

No divorce (43,441) by Jonathan from United States
Nick said in this very recent interview that everything is fine in their marriage and they had their anniversary/vow renewal on an intimate rooftop.

Morrocan (43,440) by Jenny from South Africa
I'm glad Mimi pointed out that Morrocan was named after the room that Nick proposed to Mariah in and I'd like to add that Nick specifically said in an interview after the twins were born that he was the one that named Morrocan, not Mariah.

Yay! No fillers (43,439) by Gilbert from USA
Maybe someone mentioned this or maybe someone didn't but I'm glad to see there were no "fillers" on this album.

Covers (43,438) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Why is Mariah using old photos for most of the covers? That bugs me. She should have done new shoots. The weight must not have been an issue since it will be edited either ways. Using pictures from 2008 and the shape magazine shoot is not fun anymore. I want new shoots. Like Emancipation and E=MC2 eras.

Opinions on opinions (43,437) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
1) To those saying that Mariah's recent album cover looks like nothing her and that shows she doesn't like living in reality. Show me one celebrity who chooses to not photoshop themself. Did you look at JLo's new album cover? She's been photoshopped so much she looks like she has demon eyes. Britney being so young is photoshopped so much that her real face looks nothing like her album covers. Madonna anyone? Even the gorgeous Ms Jolie. You can't expect MC to put a flawed picture for a cover. That's just not Hollywood and then their will be trolls talking about the flaws and picking her apart.
2) I don't know if Mariah is hung up on Luis or not, but it has been stated many times that the name Moroccan was chosen because that's where Nick proposed to her.
3) Mariah's face was really swollen on Letterman. Usually her face looks somewhat swollen in pics without her makeup on, but on Letterman she had full makeup and still it looked really bloated. I hope it goes back to normal.
4) I am not a fan of the Japanese cover, I never really liked the Charmbracelet cover and as someone pointed out her arm have been messed up. I mean how is that angle even possible?

Respecting your fan base (43,436) by THE TRUTH from USA
I don't know how many of you, many of whom have been around since VOL are a little put off by the whole aging in reverse thing. The latest album cover and magazine pics look nothing like the (2014 version of the) 45 year old superstar we have all come to know and love. Does anyone else find this refusal to live in reality a bit difficult to take? Wouldn't we appreciate more authenticity after all the support and loyalty we've shown through the years? I think most of us fell in love, not the image and would love to hear more and see less.

You found it insulting: Morocco and LM (43,435) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
I never said it's ok to insult anyone, not only Mariah, but it's wrong to find it insulting saying something's going on because she looks [censored] or her pics are way [censored] or that some are tired of her hanging them girls loose, etc. That's just an opinion and I wrote about Carlos comment because he did complain like others have about being censored while not being offensive. That's why I said like if you didn't like his post or thought it was against your MB rules, then ok don't publish it like you've already done to several others but showing 3 words out of his message then stating he was the meanest I found that's really rude from you. Anyway to that one who wrote MC is still in love or never let go of Luis Miguel I've always felt the same. Even her son's name comes from Morocco, her fave room is Moroccan, while on Letterman she brighten up about the Morocco related name while kind of shade on his second "Nick's family member" related one. To those new enough not to know why Morocco means so much to her, that was where Luis Miguel threw her a big outrageous birthday party and supposedly even proposed to her before she did dig herself into all the drama and misslead of the Glitter days. So, go figure.

New album (43,434) by Danny Braden from Uk
I think after this album we will see a lot of changes. I think we will get a re issue of the Christmas album (and the long awaited Christmas special/show) and then a new album in less than 9 months on a new label with some new ventures including some light acting and TV shows.

Re: Exactly Carlos, you are right (43,433) by Webmaster Eric from the Netherlands
This is a messageboard about Mariah. The people who visit this board are fans of Mariah, or at least I hope so. And I'm sure they don't want to read about someone insulting Mariah. If you don't like this, I'm sorry, but I won't change the rules for you.

Exactly Carlos, you are right (43,432) by Marcel from Montréal, Canada
The other day I wrote a comment the day the album appeared on iTunes and not only got censored, it never saw the light of day just because I said I'm tired and kind of offended for being exposed to MC's boobs all day long. [censored] And as Marissa I guess said, to get respect to have to start respecting yourself first and respecting the rest. Being honest, acting your age and such. Letterman was like [censored]. But well I've known the webmaster since the old days of the Vision mailing list when all of us were terrified because of her image change and vocal lost and you know even though this is a good message board this webmaster loves playing God and dictating what you can say and cannot say and even driving people into get wrong impressions on others like with Carlos by censoring the whole message, publishing it and commenting on how a mean person Carlos is without giving us the opportunity of judging ourselves. WM if you want to tell how mean and wrong we are at least have the decency of showing what the other really said.

Vent about Mariah board? (43,431) by Shezz from Pk
It's been a little difficult reading all these messages lately about all the wrong going on with Mariah physically and emotionally, professionally and personally. I agree with a lot that has been said here. We all wish she'd keep the girls in. We'd all like some live singing. We all want her to look her best physically because deep down inside she is a huge part of our existence and we want her to put her best foot forward because we want to basically show off our Mariah to the world and want everyone to love her as much as we do and see how awesome she is. When someone is such a huge icon and public figure we tend to forget that they are human and have the right to do what they want and that they will do things that seem like mistakes to us - that's what makes her human. Lets all try to focus on the positive and hope for the best for her professionally and personally. As she says, it is what it is. Hopefully she'll give us one heck of an album we'll talk about for years.

For the nostalgia (43,427) by Billy from Greece

For those that were around during the "Rainbow" era, just a reminder of how gorgeous, radiant, self-assured (albeit overworked) and "unmediated" Mariah was during that time. PS: And yes, the Japanese cover of "Me. I Am Mariah" is stunning. Pure Mariah.

Live MTV performance (43,426) by PJW from The U.K.
I was there for the recording of this show and yes, she did sing each song (TTR, BOTH and Yours) thrice but each performance, though different, was absolutely fantastic vocally and I'm pretty sure it's more a case of MTV wanting to cut and paste rather than instruction from Mariah.

Letterman (43,424) by Liz Archer from Sweden
I have always loved Mariah since the early 90ties but I think her image has not changed into the better over the years. This act of a diva she does sometimes these days is not attractive to most people today. It is just too much to take in. Or maybe she is acting this way to get out of this contract deal with her current record. It does seems like there is conflict. They are not promoting her well, that is clear. However I remember this has been a problem for her after Rainbow album. The Emancipation of Mimi being the exception. I don't know what made me react, but Letterman seemed annoyed when he interviewed her (or maybe he is always like that, who knows). I am really worried for Mariah because I want to hear more from her music and I wish her more success.

3 versions, keep the bonus tracks coming (43,423) by Trish from USA
K, so far I have 3 versions of the album to buy, all with different art work and slightly different bonus tracks. As a collector, I'm loving it. After what she said on Letterman about hearing the album as a whole, I'm wondering if she's going to debut any songs on the upcoming morning concert?
