Emotionally stiff (102,989) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Great post Stacey. Yes, it can't get any more emotional than with "Til the end of time". A person who doesn't feel anything while listening, has no connection to the heart and soul. "Can't let go" is in the same "league". And "So blessed". I tested it today and had immadiately goosebumbs when her voice gets darker on the song.

Till the End of Time is as emotionally filling as anything I've heard. I'd argue it's more emotional than All By Myself. That bridge to end chorus sends chills up my spine every time. Those silly journalists couldn't recognize emotion if it hit them in the face.

Mariah was dropped by Epic? When did that happen?

Randy, they want something like Unbreak My Heart, Superwoman, and Love and War. You can hear the emotion and heartbreak in Toni's, Karen's and Tamar's voice.

One of the things I never understood is why journalists who review her albums call her ballads emotionally stiff. Since I've had a little time on my hands, I've been reading Rolling Stone, Slant, LA Times, New York Times and others' reviews of her albums that were written when the albums came out. We didn't have access to the internet back then haha. But they all seem to say the problem with Music Box, Daydream, Butterfly, Rainbow and Glitter are the ballads because she's emotion-less. I don't get what they want. My All, And You Don't Remember, Never Forget You, Against All Odds and Lead The Way are every bit as emotional as Celine's All By Myself or Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You. What exactly did they want from MC?

MC's next era (102,984) by Bobby A from United States
Yes. MC's voice would have fit perfectly on Rema's Calm Down remix instead of boring and non-singing Selena Gomez. Why doesn't she get more high profile remixes anymore?

MC should come clean (102,983) by Bobby A from United States
There is only one other major female R&B singer without a label right now. Her name is Jill Scott. She only released one album on Atlantic and they dropped her just like MC on Epic with Caution. I guess when you no longer have the radio hits and enormous album sales, female artists have a difficult time keeping their record deals. What is Madonna doing differently that keeps her career moving forward without the radio hits and enormous album sales? If MC would go independent, she would receive more respect as an older female artist. A partnership record deal with a high profile pop or R&B male artist would help kick start her career too. I definitely could see Trey Songz or Ryan Tedder do a full complete album with MC.

MC should come clean (102,982) by Edward from USA
Mariah has been recording for quite some time now. She said she would be fishing for a streaming deal for "The Butterfly Lounge", but it seems to be the general interest in her doesn't warrant the money they would spend. The Clark Sisters confirmed Mariah had them sing their asses off on a recording session, Tanaka was following her every move during the Butterfly "Lounge Sessions" to document the creative process, she also said she had recorded a lot during the pandemic because she had supposedly gotten her voice back. She actually has a lot of material, but I guess she hasn't been able to secure a viable record deal. She could release "The Rarities 2" to alleviate the pain of her fans for not having new music from her for five years now, but oh well, it is what it is.

Enjoying life is the best she and everybody else can do. I wish we would get another album but her unique music catalogue makes me happy every time. Plus all the wonderful videos on YouTube and the concerts of my private collection. Happy Sunday lambs.

Jesse Cook (102,979) by Bobby A from United States
I am having the hardest time determining what did the tv/film producer Jesse Cook produce for MC. Her name shows on the web where he is given credit to working with an A list of celebrities. He produced the New Edition and the Bobby Brown TV movies. What did he produce for MC?

End times scenario (102,977) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"I hate to say this but Generation X and Millennials may have witnessed the last days of music having consumption numbers attached." Absolutely. The music biz is gone (with the golden days like everything else right now). I'm so thankful to have witnessed Michael, Whitney, Tina, Janet, George Michael, Prince, Celine and many more. Plus all the RnB artists from the 90ies until 2005. Real artists, no Tik Tokkers, influencers and all the other self-promoters. I like that the Rolling Stones and Tom Jones are still "rocking" and touring. Tom Jones has still a wonderful voice. The same with Pauli Carmen from "Champagne". I love when "How about us" gets played on my radio station. Good music will always be good music. The 60ies, 70ies, 80ies, 90ies were the best musicwise. The last 5 years are the worst, with few exceptions. Luckily we can listen to real music everyday. I don't need the trends.

When TMB went viral, I decided to take a spin for E=MC2 and surprisingly, this is really a good album. Her last commercially and GP friendly album as of writing. Wish we could hear her again having fun like this. Where [you] at Mariah? You cant keep the lambs waiting forever or suffocate us yearly with AIWFCIY.

When Mariah was wearing onesies (102,975) by "MariahHater" from Hell
When she kicked off her residency and the SSFT tour or any other tours in mid 10's, people are bashing her for wearing those onesies but now, when Beyonce or Taylor wears them, people love them. Smh.

End times scenario (102,974) by Randy from USA
I just had a thought. Rare. I realized that MC's 19 number 1s record is nowhere near in jeopardy. Today's audience doesn't have the attention span to pay attention that long to an artist. I remember a few years when Wendy predicted Rihanna would overtake MC. Rihanna doesn't even have the attention span. She focused on Fenty and stopped making music and she's stepped down from Fenty, at least running it, to be a mom. And how long is Billboard gonna matter if no one is buying music? And then the complex digital units, streaming platforms, radio and YouTube videos have to be calculated now. When will they start counting TikTok use? Use in streaming TV, use in figure skating programs? Don't laugh because figure skating is now only streamed live because musicians sued per licensing. You can watch it but you can't replay it. Then how likely are companies to merge, be bought, or go out of business? Will Spotify be bought by Nabisco and change its name to Cookie Music? Will TikTok be banned by congress? Mariah's Heat would be censored from Facebook these days. How many times would Billboard then have to change its formula? All jokes aside, I'm surprised there are still charts. I hate to say this but Generation X and Millennials may have witnessed the last days of music having consumption numbers attached.

Article: Mariah Carey visits Rye Playland over July 4 weekend (102,973) by Libra Lamb from USA
You can tell the writer and editor are not big fans of MC or the would know the album was Daydream and not Fantasy, oh well, at least they are writing about her. Skewed facts and all but whatever. LMAO.

Pride (102,972) by Libra Lamb from USA
I agree with you Brandon. It's as if she thinks the name Mariah Carey is good enough because her voice was amazing back in the day but she doesn't deliver the charisma nor the vocals on stage, or in the studio lately (Big Energy remix) that were once unmatched. She may be relying on "the voice" but sadly it's not the same as it was in the early to mid 90s. We all know the voice can change over time, and that's ok, but she's not maintained it like the precious instrument that it is. I'm only speculating here, I have no way of verifying my opinions. Regardless, I'm always rooting for her as a long time fan and lamb. I wish her well always and lots of success because I know that making music is her gift and her passion.

Good news (102,971) by Terna from Nigeria
This is exactly why she's gained the new title "Social Media Queen". Haha, she's about the only artist from her time who's songs keep resurging and trending unexpectedly as we've witnessed so many times. I would say "All I want for Christmas is You" has a big part in this trend for her since it tops the chart every year. And this is just one facet to the title, another is her "Isms", "sayings" and "drags" so to speak. Haha. That infamous "I don't know her" line did not help. Mariah is that It girl what more can be said? She stays winning.

How long does MC think she can keep the Lambs in the dark about the delay for the new era? I don't think I have ever felt this much in the dark about why we haven't gotten a new album. It has to be something on the business side of her career for the delay. Or maybe it is because vocal issues. MC should come clean soon.

Pride (102,968) by Brandon from USA
I actually agree with everything that you said. As a legend that has sold as many records as MC has, she should be a pro when it comes to live performances. Unfortunately she has always struggled when it comes to performing, which I think is mainly due to her lack of discipline to practice/rehearse for live shows and her loss of confidence in her voice. She often looks lost on stage or doesn't know how to gracefully move her body. There's actually choreographers who can teach singers how to move gracefully, how to emote, how to talk to your audience in between songs to keep them engaged (not just ramble a bunch of words) and even how to lip sync in a way that looks real (Celine). MC has access to use the best of the best in the business to help her be a better performer but most of her performances fall flat. I've seen her live in concert twice so I know what I speak. Where is the grown woman (not eternally 12), confident, sexy, commander of the stage who's been performing for over 30 years? I love MC and have been a lamb for over 30 years and want to always see her win but a lot of times she is her own worst enemy. I hate to see singers who have been performing only a fraction of the time MC has be able to run circles around her when it comes to performing live. There's no excuse.

Yeah, a lot of "older' ones (over 30 lol) are not so into Tik Tok for many reasons. Personally I don't get the hype with that app and stupid challenges that were going on. But it's nice to hear about a new Spotify record. Yes, Mariah was often ahead of its [her] time. Especially in 2001 with Glitter and the 80ies funk.

For some reason older generations seem to have a problem with Tik Tok, but the app remains one of the most popular ones and it's the most popular app for teens. Mariah is ascending and securing her place for the future.

Good news for the day: Touch My Body had its biggest day ever on Spotify receiving over 200k streams. The woman released her 18 #1 hit 18 years later and now 15 years later going viral. Mariah has always been ahead of time.
