Weight - part II (42,691)

Not sure why my last post was censored but it kinda doesn't make sense without it. I was merely making a statement of my own opinion. [censored] That's all.

Album delay? (42,690)
by M from USA

I just noticed Hits Daily Double removed Mariah from May 6th and did not show a new date. Give a "thumbs up" if this is BS and this era is not what you hoped for.

I just want to include something because your statement is very true. Maybe some of you remember that I just been reading/studying this whole "Illuminati" subject but I really do believe this does exist. Mariah said herself that this business is run by very powerful people, and if they don't want you to make it they will have the means to make you fail. I know maybe some of you may think I'm crazy or I'm reading to much into this "Illuminati" subject but it's real and it is out there and if your curious YouTube "Illuminati in the music industry". Anyway I do pray to God that she doesn't get sucked into that lifestyle because she has so much talent and I'd just be heartbroken. You can call me crazy but I really do care about her. I may not know her personally but she's been part of my life for almost 20 years so that has to count for something.

Album not yet done, for real? (42,687)
by Ryan from the Philippines
| |
|
|
Now, I don't understand what they are trying to show the people and the fans. They've been working really hard on this old but new project since 2010, pushed back a couple of times until finally (I hope it's the last) settled for a 5/6 release. Yet now the release date is just around the corner, MC and JD are still posting photos of them and others people at the studio, recording, finishing, mixing yada yada. It seemed like she can compile a 3-disk album with all those years spent. Nonetheless, if she scrapped everything, then she's trying to pull a recording session a la Rainbow (made in less than 3 months). Or are all these for the drama? What if the album is already done months ago? I think they're just wanting the people to believe like "hey, we did this album in a last minute" or "we started from scratched in 2014" yet the songs sound well produced and not hurried that will lead people to praise her for doing this rather Superwoman-like act. If they're not finished, how can they reproduce and ship the physical albums prior to the date specified? Or are they releasing it only via online music stores? Where's the new song, the video? Ugh, this is frustrating but yes, exciting. While the date is coming closer, the wait is also killing me. I really don't know what's going on inside. I cannot wait to see MC's "big surprise" for us.

Mariah is and Mariah isn't (42,686)
by nikki from usa
| |
|
|
I've collected MC pics, interviews, and magazines since the 90's about her, the industry, and her coworkers. I think people assume everything Mariah does is her own choice, but often times it isn't. When it comes to music: MC's released songs as B sides in the past because she wanted them on the album, but the label didn't. Songs MC wanted to release as singles like The One or Migrate are vetoed by the label. In interviews MC stated songs that were originally titled Mariah's Theme and Care Enough were put in parenthesis while the label renamed them Can't Take That Away and Reflections which irked her because she's the one that wrote the song. Then, there's the "formula". Anytime any artist has a hit, the label wants them to re-create it, rather than continuing to branch out. That's why they keep releasing singles like it's the 90's and MC's songs have a deja vu feeling about them. But, that's the label. Mariah's musical diversity has proven she's more than eager to try new musical approaches, but the label's aren't having it. When it comes to weight, MC's always been a yo-yo, but no matter her size Mariah keeps herself toned. Always has. That's why the most noticable thing about her is her face or her breasts. People always zoom in, if they zoomed out they'd notice the rest of the changes. When MC's skinny her bellybutton looks huge, but when she's thick she still has a flat curvy tummy except her bellybutton looks tiny.

Duet with Justin Bieber (42,685)

I heard from a reliable source that Mariah was seen in the studio recording vocals for the Justin Bieber "Swap It Out" song. I can't confirm if this will be on the album or a single EP.

Oldschool days (42,684)
by Gilbert from USA
| |
|
|
I know this is old school but I miss the days when we didn't have all this social media hype. Back some time ago I was so hyped up with this Memoirs release; everyone was saying how great it was going to be yadda yadda. Well, I ended up being so disappointed. So I try to steer away from the hype and patiently wait until it releases and make my opinion about it on my own. Don't you guys miss that? I mean who doesn't like that surprise feeling of an album coming out? I remember when I first seen the huge Butterfly poster displayed at The Warehouse (no more of those) I couldn't wait to have the album.

Pulling a Beyonce (42,683)
by Mikey from USA
| |
|
|
She can't pull a "Beyonce", reason being is that we already have a release date and know an album is coming. Eliminating popularity from the equation, what made Beyonce's tactic new and fresh was that element of surprise, no one knew an album was coming let alone a visual album. The fact that we know an album is coming makes that move not valid. I also don't think Mariah would release a visual album because that's a little too "copy cat" and Mariah don't usually follow trends. I think there will be some sort of surprise factor or novelty regarding the album due to the lack of promotion, but it definitely would not be a good move to just have the album drop on the 6th and say "surprise the album is finally out" kind of thing. Just my 2 cents.

Mariah's face (42,682)
by Mara from United States
| |
|
|
So for one I feel like this is the calm before the storm. I hope she can put out a great summer sounding strong single and go on Ellen or Jimmy Fallon, something to get the interest there. As far as Mariah's face goes, yes she has always fluctuated with her weight. [censored] I always loved her cheeks., but if anyone remembers when MC did that listening dj event in NYC, there was a pic of her and Nick and she put "we are walking" I hate to say it but that pic looked different. It could have been the angle or whatnot. [censored] We know it's not pregnancy. Not that it matters, as long as she is healthy.

E=MC2 and Migrate (42,680)
by enwar00 from usa
| |
|
|
Am I the only one who isn't a huge fan of Migrate? And I say this agreeing that it could've been a hit as the second single off E=MC2, since we''re talking 2008. But personally, it's just ok to me, and I truly prefer other upbeat songs on the album over it, like I'm That Chick, Cruise Control and Side Effects.

New album (42,679)
by Dan from US
| |

IMO opinion, I don't think Mariah is pulling a Beyonce with a surprise album. It wouldn't be posted online or on Hits Daily Double and she would never have realesed the May 6 date. I believe the week before is when it will all start coming new song, video, appearances, album name, cover, tracklist so it's all in everyone's face right before it's realesed, nice and fresh so people will buy. I could be wrong but I think that's what will happen lol.

Twitter update (42,678)
by ACMRitz from United States
| |
|
|
Jermaine just posted this to twitter: "5:30 am yesterday morning untill 5:40 am this morning with Mariah Carey" and this photo in the studio. I can't believe they are still working on the album. Is it perfectly normal to be working on an album so near to its release date? Makes me wonder what will happen regarding production and shipping of CDs. Maybe it will just be a digital release on May 6th. Anyway I am beyond looking forward to it.

Weight (42,677)
by CMC from NY,NY
| |
|
|
It's very apparent in those Canada ET interviews Mariah is extremely puffy/bloated. [censored] I'm sure she's doing this around the time she just added tracks and her umpteenth "finishing touch". I mean we're talking a matter of days and her face ballooned. I could see gaining weight but that fast and in your face? It makes sense. She's too vain to just haphazardly put on that much weight before any album. Unfortunately I think the public outside the lambs love to knock on her weight so that won't help with album. It would be great if she had a major slim down like E=MC2 which boosted her confidence and got people noticing. Or it's the drinking but that's major splashes to show that bloat in the face? She's def not pregnant, she would never go through that again. And now? With the album? That would be a disaster. Anyway hoping for May 6th, since I've been waiting ever since she popped out those twins.

Fan made video for Everything Fades Away (42,676)

I stumbled upon this on YouTube. I wasn't really impressed by it, confused at points, but I thought the effort alone was pretty sweet for a 20 year old song that most people don't even know exists.

Pregnant (42,675)
by Paul from Usa
| |
|

Edward, I've wondered the same exact thing. But I ruled it out because I know she's had a few drinks here and there. I think it could be Mariah's yo yo dieting. Plus she has 2 three year olds. That never helps the diet. But she's done well keeping in shape, with the public so critical on the way celebrities image, it's hard to imagine Mariah gaining any weight at all. Perhaps this us why lighting has been such a concern of hers. I have noticed her face has gotten puffy.

Mariah pregant (42,670)
by Commodore from USA

Lol, I thought I was the only one to think Mariah gained weight but I don't thinks she's pregnant. I'm quessing when she broke her arm she was put on steroids like predisone to treat the injury. That's a reason for the small weight she gained back. I'm guessing lol. But IMO I think she looks better now than ever.

The new (silent) era (42,669)
by Justin from USA - Los Angeles
| |
|
|
Mariah has been very hush hush within the last week, no tweets or Instagram posts. On twitter one of her backup dancers tweeted a lamb saying she has a huge surprise and she can't wait to reveal it. A lot of people have been saying on UKMIX that she is planning a Beyoncé-sequel release on iTunes. There has been news that a "well known" artist is going to do that very soon, which has me wondering if it is Mimi. Wouldn't it be amazing to wake up to this on iTunes? All Mariah banners on iTunes and you have to buy the whole album.

I don't think Mariah is pregnant due to the fact that she has been having splashes in her recent interviews, and posting recent pics of her having splashes. I don't think she would be drinking if she was pregnant. Just think she is enjoying food like most people.

Organize lambs per country, state, city for new the album release (42,667)
by Louie Baltazar from Philippines
| |
|
|
It's time to organize ourselves and identify the point person per country then by state and finally by city to ensure that the first week of sales will be the biggest in our dear Mimi's career. I beg to disagree that Mariah is no longer popular and cannot match Beyonce's popularity. Perhaps her recent single releases were not appreciated by many (except by the certified lambs), but she's still a global superstar known by billions of people including those living in remote areas/islands. We can say what ever we want and comment what ever we please to mention but it's not gonna help secure the 7th #1 spot on Billboard 200 nor Mariah's 19th #1 Billboard 100 smash. Let's all unite and start promoting Mariah's upcoming album. Even if were are not 100% sure if it's going out on May 2014, it's okay rather than seeing a not so good figures on that day. I think we all did it when E=MC2 was released 6 years ago. We can do it once again for sure.

My true concern (42,665)
by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
| |
|
|
I'd be lying if I said I don't care about the commercial viability of this new project. However, I could stomach a flop if she can deliver 100% live vocals of the songs. Charmbracelet as a album was weak to me, however, the Charmbracelet tour vocals (what was live) made that era worth while.

Let's go (42,664)
by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA
| |
|
|
I'm not a fan of the removal of the thumbs down feature. I've noticed with the diva fan communities, especially those of Mariah and Whitney, criticisms, no matter how constructive, are shunned. If a poster's feelings in the real world are hurt by a thumbs down then that reflects an issue with that poster which may or may not be mutually exclusive from the person who thumbed them down. It tends to be those sensitive fans who keep requesting Mariah to sing "Hero" or "CTTA (MT)".
