Chillax the Era will get here when it gets here (42,662)
by Roman from USA

I think this frenzy over Mariah's album is A+++. It has a very nostalgic feel of when albums would be released as CDs and everyone would wait by the store fronts opening night. We're all dying for more genius musicality that only Mariah can bring. Whatever the mayhem or madness that does or doesn't go on involving this mega album, we can't help ourselves. We're so thirsty.. We love Mariah for being "Mariah" and this story is no exception. It will just go down the very long list of legendary Mariah "moments" throughout her illustrious life. I'm not frustrated because the voice is coming. Let's just enjoy the anticipation and believe that very soon we will all be immersed in musical brillance and I bet we'll all have a song that impacts us for the rest of our lives.

My favourite 20 Mariah classics right now (42,661)
by Loris from Italy

Yes, I'm obsessed with charts. Well I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it, and I'm going to extremes to prove I'm fine without you. But in reality I'm slowly losing my my mind underneath the guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside. 1. Breakdown 2. I don't wanna cry 3. The roof 4. Vision of love 5. Butterfly 6. Bliss 7. Underneath the stars 8. Slipping Away 9. Anytime you need a friend 10. Open arms 11. Emotions 12. Fantasy 13. We belong together 14. Babydoll 15. If it's over 16. Music box 17. Without you 18. Miss you most 19. Long ago 20. #Beautiful Random facts and impressions: 1. Breakdown and The Roof are her lyrical masterpieces. 2. I don't Wanna Cry is very understimated among the lambs and that is really bad. And her live version at Tokyo Dome is even more perfect. 3. Mariah ackowledging (or even mentioning) publicily the value of Slipping Away one day would be a dream come true. 4. I've always considered Open Arms to be just too schmaltzy for me, but recently Mariah won me over. The second verse, in particular, is one of the most affecting pieces of music I've ever listened to.

Mariah's weight has fluctuated a lot throughout the 00's, but I noticed how she was chubby at the beginning of 2013, lost a significant amount of weight during Idol, and then she slowly began to gain weight at the end of 2013 to now. Look at the music videos for #Beautiful and You're Mine. Do you notice a difference in her cheeks? It normally wouldn't worry me. But what worries me is that this isn't like the other times she's gained weight, because her face has never been this fat. Not to mention how round her stomach is. So it does look like she may be pregnant, but I don't think she is. I think she's just getting older and perhaps it's starting to show. But I love Mariah either way.

Is Mariah pregnant again? (42,659)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Looking at some recent pictures of Mariah, I realize that her face looks bloated as if she were pregnant. She definitely has gained some weight. I thought she was working towards losing weight. I have the strange feeling that Mariah is going to put the album out and check out. If she is not feeling the support from IDJ, she won't go out of her way to promote this album. Promoting an album can be draining without help. I don't think she is that popular anymore to pull a Beyoncé. I hope she puts out a good CD. I have noticed that the studio version of the songs she has put out so far are vocally better than the vocals on TEOM. I love TEOM, but Mariah's vocals were strained and thin on it.

New album (42,658)
by Hanno van Leeuwen from The Netherlands
| |
|
|
Yesterday I emailed Mariah's record label here in the Netherlands, Universal Music, with the question if they had some news about the album, today they answered my email. But don't get your hopes up, the only thing that they could tell me was the release date of the album here in the Netherlands and that is May 2, so 2 more weeks to go.

This all just seems like the calm right before the storm. I think MC is gonna come with that ether. A little less than 20 days left until it hits. At least that's how I would like to think about this silent period. Lol.

Album release (42,655)
by J from USA
| |
|
|
Honestly we still got 2 more weeks untill April is over. Let's give Mariah until then to give more information about this album. At this point it's whatever to me TBH. I'll buy the album but I'm not as excited as I was before. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a great record but as far as success goes, I doubt this era will be one. Too many things have overshadowed the release of this album. The pushbacks, the length in between this and Memoirs, the lip-syncing scandals, the failing singles. Hopefully things turn around for the better. Oh and also another sad thing is, if this album sells badly the first week or overall, the lambs will blame Jermaine for it all as if he's the one who should promote Mariah's singles/albums for her. BTW is it me of has Mariah gained weight in the past few months? Not that she looks bad at all, but her face seems bloated in some pics.

Thumbs down (42,654)
by Martyn from England, UK

I'm so glad the thumbs down option has been removed. I stopped posting because I'm too sensitive to deal with the negativity. I don't like it when lambs argue. We get enough hassle from non Mariah fans, we should all stick together. (I feel like the rainbow cake girl at the end of Mean Girls.)

Things change (42,653)
by Stacey from USA

So the "thumbs down" icon is gone. Oh well. I think it sets the stage for negativity. Some can take a thumbs down as a personal attack. I know. I used to do that. Coming up on 37 later this year, I've chilled out a lot in my older years, lol. The problem I saw with the "thumbs down" icon was this: many folks would see who wrote the post and automatically hit thumbs down based on who wrote it. They took no time to read the post with an open mind and then comment afterwards. Some fans can hold a grudge, lol. Anywho, May 6th is coming up soon. Excited to see what MC has in store.

Catching up (42,652)
by Bill from the UK

Wow so the thumbs down went. I will miss my regular 6 (minimum) thumbs down, they were like a badge of honour. Oh well. Easy come, easy go. The new format is politically correct and removes the negativity I guess, though it was funny seeing someone get 40 dislikes for saying that they loved Mariah haha. I'm so excited for the new album. I have been listening to her 90s records non stop in the lead up to it. I love Mariah so, so much.

I am worried that Mariah may be under pressure to get her album out/perfect, drop a hit single, look hot in a video, make #1 again. It's too much to even think about, and I ain't even her. I hope she looks after herself and her family before everything else.

Dream (42,648)
by OGmattyICE from US
| |
|
|
I just woke up from a dream, and it never does justice sharing dreams with others because the other person can't visualize it. But it was about... Mariah duh, or I wouldn't be posting on here. I dreamed she was making (shooting) a new video for a song (for the new album) and the way I can describe it is it was a "concept" video. Kinda the way Honey was where it started out with the mansion captive scene. Except this one in my dreams was of her shooting a scene, no music, but teaching her dance crew moves, and stopping and correcting her dance crew and showing them how to do the moves right. Then she finishes the session and gets ready to go home to Nick and dem babies, but one of her crew members pulls her aside to watch a video on the computer on critiquing the dance moves. Then they edit some stuff, then that's when the music kicks in with the new song. It's hard to illustrate how the song sounded, but for some reason, it was another song that bashed Eminem. I don't like it but whatever, it's a dream that I can't control. The rest is fuzzy because I woke up soon after. Anyhow, just thought I'd share.

Nikki / other thoughts (42,646)
by Marissa from USA
| |

Nikki, the only response I can give to your post is yesssssssss. (Pardon my enthusiasm, but I've just had a strong hot toddy. ) If MC wants to make waves at this point with no promo (no I do not consider that redundant ET Canada interview promo, nothing new was revealed), she needs to debut an attention grabbing title. Something that the general public gets, not some cryptic title that only lambs can comprehend. I think it is safe to say that this album is not on the gp's radar at all. No one but the lambily has the patience to constantly check MC's twitter and instagram to find no enlightening news whatsoever. If it's not obvious, the gp doesn't care. No one wants to go on a scavenger hunt for album info. I'm a lamb and even I'm sick of all of the frantic searching and speculation. I'm at the point where I just want to say, "Call me when the album's ready."

Short album title vs. long title album (42,645)
by ratchetgirl from USA
| |
|
|
Since one-name album titles are popular, many people want Mariah to follow the trend to have a short album name. However, the last time she did that (Glitter), it didn't appear so well. It's not that the length of the name may be short that affected its outcome, just the events leading up to it. So that's why Mariah's comeback album had a long name (The Emancipation of Mimi). Many people believe that Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel is where she disappeared, which I find to be stupid. So maybe she should have a short album title name because it would be the opposite of a long title name. Anyways, I'm still excited for the new album and coming here very chance I got to check and see if there is any new information surrounding the album. Well, the 20 day mark is today, and I need to know something by the end of the day or I'll die. But Mariah is smart and she'll find a way to make up for the lack of promotion and information soon.

Album release (42,644)
by Mikey from USA

I think it's strange that the album is coming out in less than a month and there is no new follow up single or really any heavy promotion. I have a feeling that the album will be released along with some big anouncement. Thing is, the anouncement has to be pretty big given the lack of promotion up to this point.

Head Over Heels (42,643)
by 123 from USA
| |
|
|
What does everyone think about Allure's Head Over Heels? When I first heard the song I saw the video first and remember thinking how similar it was to Mariah's vibe, then for her to show up at the end of the video and find out they were the first artists on her Crave label and that she wrote the song. I remember reading an interview of the group saying the producer had the beat but they couln't get a good song written. Then Mariah came in and heard the track, took it with her and finished writing the song that day. I'm assuming she helped arrange the song as well. I've always wondered if it was meant to be on Butterfly but she gave it to them. I also wondered how she would sound if she sung it herself. It would be great to hear her sing songs she wrote for other artists such as "Last Chance" or Blaque's "Don't Go Looking For Love" or 7 Mile's "After". It would be great to get an EP of her singing songs she wrote for others. I remember her saying back then that "After" was one of her favorite songs she has ever written.

Perez Hilton never has anything nice to say about MC. Before he "changed" and stopped being a bully (according to him), he used to say horrible things about Mariah. He called her various names. He is not a nice person.

New album (42,639)
by Marky Mark from Australia

I'm liking something simple as well for an album title. "Next Chapter" is simple and nice. I still gun for her using "Sweet Soul Odyssey" as an album title especially with Stevie Wonder on the album and both #Beautiful and The Art of Letting Go having a soulful vibe. In fact "Soulful Vibe" would be a nice album title too lol.
