#Beautiful is so addictive (38,052) by Edward from USA
I have heard it on the radio a couple times already and it sounds so different from anything being played out there. I hope radio keeps supporting the song and make it about the music and not the bs. Mariah is maybe holding back to do massive promotion when the album is out, but it is crazy to me we don't even have an album title yet. The way I see things, she might be dropping the album by mid July. She definitely needs to arrange #Beautiful so she could sing it live without messing it up, since thjs song has great potential. I would hate to see it fade away from the charts due to lack of good promotion. I can't wait for any kind of remix from of song, I have the impression Mariah is cooking a surprise to push the sales up. The explicit version of #Beautiful is rising slowly on iTunes.

A question (38,051) by Lyric from USA
Guys, I want some opinions on this if you don't mind. Do you guys think Mariah should address the lip syncing, or at least the current state of her voice? I would love it if someone like Barbara Walters addressed Mariah's lipped performances, because I would like to hear what she's doing to preserve her voice. A true vocalist has never been open or admitted to lip syncing because it could be detrimental to their reputation. But there are many lambs who want some type of explanation. If she said something, then maybe people wouldn't have such high expectations for her "live" performances.

Thanks for your post. It's good to see we can appreciate each others posts, despite the differing styles. I'm very blunt in real life, and in the UK, that's appreciated, you're right lol. Pay no attention to it. However, as Stacey will testify, I can be very diplomatic when necessary. However, when I get annoyed, the sharpness comes out. *waves to Stacey* lol.

#Beautiful (38,049) by Anonymous from
I just bought my copy of #Beautiful from Amazon. I wish it was the uncensored version. I still haven't heard that version. I'm in love with this song. It makes me feel undressable. I haven't been this pleased with a Mariah song in years. She's a lycal genius. And her voice is still the voice. She's my idol. I can still remember when I saw the Fantasy video for the first time. I was enraptured. I made my mom buy the single and Daydream album that day. I can remember every detail like it was yesterday 18 eighteen years later.

Mariah looked like she had a straight attitude at the end of WBT with that look. Like she was saying, "Take that bishes." I loved it lol.

West Coast GMA (38,047) by Licia from USA
Okay, the West Coast got the better Beautiful performance. I don't know what was going on with the one that I saw. The ending of the performance I saw was horrid. Anyway, that pic of her and Roe at the fridge is too cute. I wonder what Roe was saying with that little finger out like she's the boss. Lol.

GMA / Beautiful rewrite (38,046) by Che from USA
I had the opportunity to attend the GMA performance and vocally both Miguel and Mariah were on point in rehearsal and even how it sounded live. Why there seemed to be such a difference in how it sounded on air I don't know. However there was quite a bit of disorganization that went on and from my perspective quite a bit of it was on GMA's part. For those who say that Mariah should rewrite Beautiful just to feature her voice more, why? If she had wanted to do that, she would have done that from the beginning. Honestly, if she were to rewrite it with just her, then it wouldn't be the #Beautiful we've all come to know and I think the vibe and integrity of the song would be lost.

Walk of fame (38,045) by Jay from USA
Anyone know whatever happened to Mariah reeiving her star on the Hollywood walk of fame? It was announced, but I don't recall her ever getting it and her name is not listed on the website. Her site still has the announcement dated June 23, 2006.

Stephen and RadChad / Lee (38,044) by Stacey from USA
Stephen and RadChad, It's nice to see two people get passed the delivery and understand the points the other person is trying to make. I enjoyed reading your conversation on Mariah's voice. Lee, I'm with you on the GMA performance. Miguell sounded fine. It wasn't as bad as the AI mess. ABMB and WBT were great, especially WBT, where at the end of the song she let out a fierce look. I hope she keeps that line of focus during this era. From wardrobe malfunctions to not having her mic hooked up, her performances lately seem disorganized. Her personality is hillarious and I enjoyed how she played off the "hot mess" in some spots, but it just seems she needs to step up her game. Know what I mean? Some may say she has nothing left to prove, and in many respects you guys are right. However, longevity is also a sign of greatness and each time people have counted her out, MC has turned it on and proven those naysayers wrong. I feel she is at another crossroads much like with TEOM, where this is a key point in her career to prove she can still be current. #Beautiful is a great start. Now she's got to do the promotion right to match such a great song.

Beautiful/GMA performance (38,043) by Gerald from USA by the way of NYC
Let me start by saying love to the entire Archives family. First things first. The "Beautiful" song is in my opinion Mariah's strongest lead single since "It's like that". As far as yesterday on GMA, there was a lot of disorganization on both sides. The first two performances were definitely homeruns. Mariah looked great as well. As for the "Beautiful" performance, I will just say M and M need to practice a little for future performances. Lastly, I need more details on this new album. I'm becoming very impatient.

I'm a little late but I'm so loving Beautiful. The intro to that song is straight boss. That song is on a whole other level.

Lee (38,041) by Will from England
Yeah, that was the West Coast version. And it did sound better, I have to admit. So could it have just been GMA's fault this time?

Did I watch a different version? (38,040) by Lee from UK
I don't know what people heard on #Beautiful at GMA. I thought Mariah sounded great and Miguel wasn't out of key, he was singing his own harmony. The high notes at the end sounded amazing and the camera wasn't in the crowd the whole time either. The camera was totally focused on Mariah's face during the high notes I don't know If i watched the dubbed West Coast version, but the video on YouTube is called "Mariah Carey & Miguel #Beautiful Good Morning America 5-24-2013 GMA". Once again, I would say this performance was actually really good in my opinion and the high notes were strong and all in tune.

#Beautiful (38,039) by Musti from UK
Hey lambs. I haven't read all the comments post-GMA performance. I just wanted to say that my heart broke when I heard the end of #Beautiful on GMA as I knew Mariah would be shredded to pieces by the media regarding her voice. We all know by now that this woman sings best at night/very early morning (5am in particular lol). It's just sad to see that the song dropped to #20 on iTunes today and has had the smallest daily increase in airplay yesterday since its release. I agree with PJW that most of Mariah's live performances have been plagued with "drama" since the DFAU performance at the AMAs. I don't know what can be done to better her live performances, but it is clearly affecting her commercial performance. Of course I don't think chart success is everything, but #Beautiful was doing great and had a lot of potential. I will love Mariah, even if her voice is reduced to half an octave. As the great La Divina, Maria Callas, had once said "You stay an artist, dear, even if your voice is less of a fireworks. The artist is always there." But I still want my #19 and #20.

GMA performance / thank you's (38,038) by Joe from United Kingdom
Well, it was funny, that's for sure. It was like a malfunction extravaganza. So many things were going on/wrong, but Mariah handled it as only Mariah would. The #Beautiful performance was not the best, the rehearsal was better, ABMB and WBT were an improvement. Vocally it's kinda what I expected from an early morning Mariah. Why were the songs starting while the host was still talking? Anyway, thank you to those who gave me a warm welcome to the messageboard. I appreciate you.

Stephen (38,037) by RadChad from United States
I always agreed with your points (though the the delivery was a little rough for my taste ). Between you, Simon Cowell, and Lee, I guess it's just the UK way. Right? No, but we've actually made many similar points in past post as well, so it was never about you being wrong in your observations and suggestions on what Mariah should do better. I know I can still be very defensive of Mariah and it's just because of the deep connection I feel with her. She's not just another great singer/songwriter/artist, she's a part of me. At the end of the day, I know we all love Mariah and have a passion for her as an artist, so though me may agree and disagree on certain things, there won't ever be any bad blood between us in my eyes.

RadChad (38,036) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I'm glad she sang live for the most part, but do you now see my point regarding her voice? It's definitely more limited than it used to be, and she should either take more care of her voice to counter it, or just accept it and do the best she can live. As bad as the GMA "concert" was, she sang live, and showed some real quality moments, such as on WBT. The problem was, those moments were outweighed by bad moments. You're right though, the fact that she can still hit certain notes, does show the voice is there, it's just a question of whether she has the dedication to maintain or improve her voice at this stage of her career. Mariah was hilarious on the show, and I suspect she cursed twice on purpose, as it ensured she was plastered all of Facebook and Twitter. I agree 100% with you regarding #Beautiful. I'd like Mariah to try a Mariah only version. She should go on Ellen or something and perform it. Miguel is a very good singer, but I'm not sure about him as a performer. I saw him live in London a few years back, before he was well known, and he was terrible. I actually walked out. Mariah seems to have humbled him though. I think she's shown him what a real star looks like. He's on his way though. I like his music; hence why I went to see him live. I still stand by #Beautiful and he and Mariah. They both worked very well together on this song. I'd like if they wrote more together, just not as a duet.

Live performance curse? (38,035) by RadChad from United States
I'm convinced, because nothing seems to ever go right these days. I don't think her voice is even in bad shape, though she still needed not to be having any "splashes", to warm up the vocals with her coach, and should have indulged in a huge cup of warm tea with two big spoons of honey before hitting the stage this morning. I believe her voice would've been in great fighting shape, if she had. There were some promising vocal moments however. Also I was hoping for the premier of a new raw ballad, I feel that her voice would still shine in a simple old school vocal ballad along the lines of "The Wind" or "Music Box", "Im Free", "Circles" etc. I think MC should rewrite/rearrange Miguel's lyrics at the beginning of Beautiful and start performing it solo without the backing track, just live instruments and backup singers. I know it would make for a much better performance for that song.

You're so lucky. I wanna know, I heard the by Boston Chery version of #B on YouTube where I thought she and Miguel sounded great. So many people say it sounded bad, although they weren't there, so I wanted to know. Is that how you heard it when you were there? Is that accurate or was it different?

Fun, but.. (38,032) by Orkun from The Netherlands
Yes, the performance was fun and funny. The jokes were in place for sure. But no. Again the cameras were taping the audience during high notes. No no no. Mariah's rep will have to lie again. I can tell exactly which parts weren't live. But I did like the soulful growling. She still nails that. Miguel was really really off.

Comments from GMA concert from a witness (38,031) by SC from USA
Hi guys. I attended this morning's mini concert and it was a lot of fun. Mariah rehearsed ABMB and Beautiful, the last one twice with Miguel. They sounded great in rehearsal. I definitely can testify that the performance was fully live, except for the chorus of Miguel. Backing vocal and Miguel sang over it. It was really very messy when the live show started. The AWBM rehearsal was really cool and well planned, but I don't know what happened with the live one. I guess Mariah ran out of time at the changing room, but she literally wasn't there when the song started. I'm not a pro, but her team is huge, they need to focus more on the timing. Everything was really rushed because she changed clothes. I get it. She wants to change a few times. She looked amazing, but she should've rehearsed with the clothes for the live shows. It would have been a lot easier for her. WBT was great as of all know by now. Beautiful started and the show's director kept screaming the time. 60 seconds, 30 seconds and no Mariah. Again. she came out at the last minute. These wardrobe things are easy fixes, they just need to get her ready in full "live show clothes" at rehearsals. The "shit" and the no shoes situation was definitely odd, but in any case I always love seeing her and she's really funny. She chatted with fans a lot and sang a verse of "Underneath the stars" for us. It was great and vocally she was on point. She's perfect, but there's just so much around her. She's a diva and we love her for it.

#Beautiful rehearsal (38,030) by Edward from USA
I have to say that she did performed #Beautiful as a rehearsal and it was on point, but when the real performance took place, things went way different. Mariah should perform an acoustic version of #Beautiful without much production. The song sounds simple vocally, but it would be almost impossible to sing without a backing track with all the layering it has. For a person who exercises a lot, I don't understand why Mariah is so stiff on stage. I know she is not a dancer, but a little moving around would do.

GMA "Beautiful" performance (38,029) by Marise from Russia
It was terrible. But it's not Mariah's fault. She was good, in my opinion, but Miguel ruined their performance, he was totally off key. It seems like he can't sing at all. So sad. On the other hand, Beautiful went up in iTunes. And it's good news. I hope their next performance will be soon and much better.

GMA (38,028) by Lee from UK
Now that's what I'm talking about. Live performances are the only way to go. Mariah sounded good. She didn't sound perfect, but at least it was live. I love the "Always be my baby" segment, especially with the Disneyland photo of her and Nick at the end. God bless the recorders who upload to YouTube. In addition, she handled the wardrobe malfunction pretty well.
