Memoirs (102,156) by Mariahsbaby from usa
I'm so happy for Mariah and all the lambs in the land with taste and who actually love the album. It's currently her most streamed album on Spotify. [It's a wrap] is also Mariah most streamed song and it is the biggest gainer on Spotify Viral Songs USA at #98.

Her music is timeless, it deserves so much more. Super shoutout to her last few albums plus Charmbracelet. So many hidden gems and so many missed opportunities.

Hopefully all of the hype with the It's A Wrap TikTok challenge will spark some creativity in MC to produce some great music this year.

Memoirs is underrated (102,154) by Libra Lamb from USA
Memoirs is possibly Mariah's most underrated album. So deep, so fun and it does what she set out to do. It is a mood. Love love love it.

If you could... (102,153) by Libra Lamb from USA
I would squeeze an album between Daydream and Butterfly, there was so much creativity and her voice was amazing and her spirit strong after her divorce. I imagine the lyrics would be some of her best following Butterfly, and the production unmatched. Also, the remixes would be pure fire, as usual. Title of the album: Enchanted. All original break up and love songs, a fun dance or club track or two. #1 debut album and lead single. I don't know if I believe there weren't any leftover tracks after Butterfly, I guess she was curating her All That Glitters album then too and I know the Glitter soundtrack is one of my faves in her discography. I personally think it's better that she recorded the entire soundtrack without giving half of the tracks to other artists. That's what makes it signature Mariah and special.

I would so love a 1998 album. I loved what was happening in music in general those years. And Mariah's new 1998 output through #1's (bonus tracks, remixes etc) is some of my favourite work of hers.

Spinning 10s music (102,151) by "MariahHater" from Hell
Unforgettable. An unpopular opinion. This track with Mariah's vocals is haunting. Wish she did more features likes this. Not the lame Can't Say No.

An album between Emancipation and E=MC2 for sure. There was so much creativity and nuance in that era. I want more 2004-2008 Mariah.

I agree that Music Box/Merry Christmas era voice was the best. I for one don't like her Daydream album and tour voice as much as I like her 1994 and 1997 voice. For me a studio album in 1998 would have been perfect, much better than #1's.

I squeeze one right after MC'S debut. I have always felt Emotions was a step in the wrong direction for a sophomore album. I wanted more of what her debut gave us.

There is an album squeezed in between Music Box and Daydream. It's called Merry Christmas. I kid. I kid. I think Mariah gave us enough output until Memoirs. She's taking longer gaps now. MCIIY, MIAMTEC and Caution are my least favorite albums. I just want quality at this point. Something mature. Adult. Unplugged. Unassisted.

I think Memoirs rivals E=MC2. So many gems on that album like Standing O, Insperable, Obsessed, Angels Cry, Betcha Gon Know.

If you could have one extra album squeezed in over the years where would you want it? I think I’d have liked another album squeezed in before Daydream. Music box has always been my favourite and I think with those vocals and adult contemporary/pop style I would have liked another album of similar style.

Mariah back with IDJ (102,144) by Bobby A from United States
I would rather MC go independent like Alicia Keys. She can do it easily with her connections and cash flow. Scooter Braun could manage it for her. Something is not working with the way she is doing it with larger record labels.

Mariah back with IDJ (102,143) by T from USA
Now that Mariah is no longer with a record label how would everyone feel if she re-signed with Island Def Jam records? I mean she went back to Sony in 2015 and for the five years that followed until 2020 Rarities she used her former label to build on her legacy with the company. Whilst still releasing one new album, Caution. Could she possibly do that now with IDJ? Use the next five years to build on her Island discography and give us one new album along the way. She could start with a MOAIA re-release now that It's a Wrap is blowing up. Tack on Drake to the track and release the album with the HATEU remix plus Skydiving. Then continue with #MC30. This would be a great route for her and give her some much needed direction right now. I'd take IDJ over Epic anyway.

I owe Mariah's earpiece an apology (102,142) by Will from England
So I think they used those big box monitor speakers to play back the music that they still put out on stage, but not sure if they still use them or not. Even Micheal Jackson hated using the earpieces and fiddled with them as they felt like a fist in your ear, as he said during that This Is It documentary. I think even Mariah mentioned that she didn't like using them and only really started using them during TAOM tour, I've never seen her use them before then. I don't think that they're very comfortable pieces of equipment, as they are moulded to fit into your ear exactly, so that they're ultra noise cancelling so the artist can hear a click track/whatever part of the track you want to hear vs your own voice (hence why she says "turn me up a bit"/backstage comms/whatever. Back then in the 60s/70s, was it a thing to do huge stadium tours as is so common now? Also, the nature of people seeing shows has changed, as my dad regularly tells me, you would go to a show and you'd be quiet so you could hear the performance, not screaming all throughout as is most common now - that's why some artists get so thrown off by the Japanese/Asian fans during shows as they're most silent as a mark of respect.

Rarities re-release (102,141) by Bobby A from United States
It is already sold-out. Wow. MC and her team must be testing the demand for another 4LP vinyl set similar to the The Rarities. Maybe Memoirs/Angels Advocate/Jumpsmokers or Daydream/Someone's Ugly Daughter this Fall.

I owe Mariah's earpiece an apology (102,140) by Lee from UK
I always thought that the constant fiddling with the ear pieces was Mariah's way of giving a signal to the sound engineer. It seems to me that every time Mariah touches either ear piece, the pre-recorded vocals kick in.

Mariah never really did the whole earpiece touching until she began using pre-recorded vocals. She would often stick a finger in her ear when hitting a high note, but that was done in a way that made you believe she needed to hear herself better.

There was none of this daft shaking of the head during whistle notes back in the day either. Mariah shakes her head when lip syncing along to whistle notes because she doesn't know one performance to the next which pre-recorded version of the whistle she is using. It is like she thinks that by shaking her head, we won't notice if she messes up. But we do. I love it when she misses the onset of a whistle note and forgets to pretend to sing it.

I also think it's her "darkest" album moodwise. I wouldn't recommend this one for non-fans too. It's very special.

I knew [The Roof] performance, but yeah it's really cool. Mariah's little dance moves were so cool and sexy during that tour. Her aura was stunning, she could have melt an iceberg. A diva and superstar but at the same time approachable.

Memoirs is underrated (102,136) by JC from USA
I like The Dream and loved My Love but would never recommend this album to a non-lamb. Very depressing, sans Obsessed. She was obviously in a dark place. I did love seeing her promote it on the today show upon its release, though. The whole album's tone can be set by the Betcha Gon Know intro. You see, Caution is a "mood" album. Memoirs is a "moody" album. Big diff.

Butterfly tour footage - Sydney (102,134) by JC from USA
Ruined her instrument in 8 years? She should've never been touring. The rasp (which I like when accessed appropriately, a la If Only You Knew) always occur when fatigued.

Music Box tour was worse than some of these performances.

It's all fatigue. For example, her whistles are thin (not "airy") due to this, hence why she's likely to produce a fuller sound in the following weeks.

That's not to say he voice didn't mature during this time. Letterman Butterfly is an example of a beautiful albeit strained voice. But her voice has also matured several instances, both earlier and later in her career.

Sadly, one of the most signature parts of her voice, the head voice, seems gone. But still strong in earlier eras.

Rarities re-release (102,133) by Bobby A from United States
It is just a reissue with no new tracks, but at a higher price of $94.00. The original release was $55.00. I suppose that she is doing this because the original release sold out really quickly October 2020 and it is going for $100 and up on Ebay.

Does anyone know if this will have added tracks to it or if it's the same tracks as the original release? The article I read wasn't quite clear on that point. Thanks.
