The song and the video makes me very nostalgic too. Daydream made me a fan so I can just love the video. I like the innocent princess vibe and the backstage scenes. The casual base cap is very sweet on her too. She was so young then, looks like baby MC. Haha. I had to laugh a little about the sign in the concert hall: David Bowie, Neil Young and Celine Dion.

Stacey I'm sorry to hear that with your husband. I hope he gets well soon. I don't have anxiety but I'm afraid of the pandemic since February. I also wish the Americans good luck with the new president. As an European I will just say I like how Mr. Biden talks and most of us here in Germany are happy with the vote. I used to be in an German-American friendship Club so I know how divided the opinions can be. I guess it's the same in almost every other country with the politics. I enjoy your posts like most of the messages here. But the behavior from some posters reminds me of kindergarten.

XavMan, I apologise. I was busy swatting flies.
"One Night: What is the recurring phrase the background sings all the way"
It's "Oh baby baby... don't".
I can tell you that without even playing it. I have listened to this song endlessly. I am gobsmacked it did not make Daydream. Was it too fun? It's like the response to Fantasy. It is genius.
As is Here We Go Round Again (I don't like the debut album much but this song is unbelievably good).
As is All I Live For. (Come on, this is infectious. How did this make the cut?)
As is Firecracker Loverboy. (This would have gone global No1. Who cares that woman used the sample?)
As is Out Here On My Own. (It is as much a Mariah Carey ballad now as is My All, but better because we are all feeling this one collectively.)
The Rarities is special. It has a unique place in my heart.

"Whatever, just shut up already."
I think you meant to reply to me. And, well, no.
"I don't come to a Mariah Carey blog to argue and pick fights with other people that I don't even know, unlike you, I do have better things to spend my time on."
Well, you kinda did.
"I am just saying what many people are thinking."
Many people think that the Earth is flat or that they are guided by spirit animals or that it's okay to put the milk in before the tea bag. Verstehen Sie? (You do speak German in the National Socialist North America, surely? Lol)
"You keep doing you over there and I'll do the same here. I bet if you weren't hiding behind your little keyboard and monitor you wouldn't say that crap in person because you know in the real world you get your ass kicked for that behavior."
Of what behaviour do you speak? Disagreeing with you? Objecting to arguments that are objectively ridiculous, irrational, unfounded and insulting to millions of our grandparents and great grandparents?
The threat of violence isn't impressive and I assure you I would not change, and have never changed, my opinion in the face of it. Much like our grandparents and great grandparents did not.
"Find a doctor already, mental health and anger issues are to be taken seriously."
Were I to try, I certainly would avoid yours for it is clearly not working.
"I'm not going to debate anything with you and indulge you, it's useless and a waste of time"
You would be wise not to debate me.
"[P]lease just get lost."
You're about seven messages in and look what you have shown yourself to be. So. Er. Nope.
I think that was civil enough in the face of incivility. Seriously, you people are frightening.

Yes, New William, yes. The ABMB should always have been the Underneath The Stars video.
This isn’t a music video. This is Mariah doing ten minutes vanity interspersed with really bad tour footage that does not remotely suit the song. I feel like this video was pieced together recently for the sake of completing something.

As the resident Daydream fanatic here, I thought the video was ok. Quite honestly I found myself focusing more on singing along to the music than watching the video. Such an amazing melody you almost don't care about the video anymore.

Oh wow someone tells me to shut up. I'm shivering. I don't recall addressing you in anyway. Nothing was directed toward you in any way. I agreed with what Andrew said, as is my right. If you have a problem with that, it is you who needs to "get lost". The funny thing is I was here before you and I'll still be here after you are long gone. Cheers.
I'm 43 years old. Been posting on this site for over a decade. I don't let the little things bother me. I do suffer from anxiety. If someone tries to put me down using that, it says more about their character than mine. The irony is today my hubby is home from the hospital suffering from Covid-19. Some two letter named faceless, nameless person telling me to shut up is laughable at this point. Carey on everyone. Life is too short to worry about the insignificant stuff.

I couldn't help but feel nostalgic as this song makes me feel, and watching the video for the very first time it dawned on me that this was the very first song I ever heard from the "Daydream" LP, and boy have we come a long way since then. It's always going to have a special place in my heart. So sublime. Thanks Mariah for this rare gem. Lots of love as always.

Probably one of her more natural looking vanity videos but a massive meh. Was hoping for a storyline or something cute similar to the Always Be My Baby video, that's how I always envisioned this video would be like. Feels like someone found the clips of Mariah and just edited it out with old footage of the tour.

Overall reaction: meh.
Sidenote: I'm a little more upset now about the choice to release the Tokyo Dome concert video as it would appear that they had HD cameras filming at least one of the European dates. SMH.

You can't talk to a lady the way you do. This has gone way out of hand and that's why I won't post anything on this subject anymore.
I know we don't agree on everything and everyone has a right to his or her own opinion, but that's no reason to insult others if they don't agree with you.
And I know some of you don't agree with anything Andrew says, but that is also no reason to insult him. And to Andrew, please keep it civil.

Thanks a lot, Rene. I think that's exactly what she sings in that part. Come on, the rest, any guesses for the other two songs? Andrew, put some effort into this like you do with other topics. Lol. By the way, I guess the phrase in One Night might be "unconditional baby". Right?

"Andrew, as a while male..."
You're a racist.
"...who lives in England"
An incorrect racist.
"...and not America, you should sit this one out."
You ostensibly didn't read anything I wrote. You just saw a reason to dismiss me because of the colour of my skin. I don't think you understand history at all. Visit Poland and go to Auschwitz-Birkenau, or visit France and see the poppy fields, or the endless rows of graves, or visit London and the tomb of the unknown soldier. And it is *I* who must sit this one out? To compare an American President to Hitler is a joke and you and silly little thumbs-up friends should take a good hard look in the mirror.
"You really don't know anything about the everyday problems that Americans face, such being murdered and terrorized just for the color of their skin."
Americans are murdered and terrorised every day because of the colour of their skin. Right. How hard it must be for you to live in the modern day Nazi Germany, you overly privileged cretinous fool. I have German friends who would smack their heads in disbelief at you.
"...while cisgender male."
Do you mean "white"? If you do you're a racist. "Cisgender"? How do you know this? You are assuming. What a bigot.
"You can not belittle people or their problem, just sit back, listen, and maybe you'll learn something about it."
Please enlighten me as to the comparisons between Europe under Hitler and the US under Trump.
It is frightening that people like you exist. Tit.

Monroe looks adorable with her mother's long, gangly legs. But those clothes aren't cute. Is the brand popular beyond the Bey hive? I do love the brand's merch rollouts though. This last one including "Rolling Ray" was hilarious. Beyonce trolling her fans is cute. I'm sure she made his life.

Andrew, as a while male, who lives in England and not America, you should sit this one out. You really don't know anything about the everyday problems that Americans face, such being murdered and terrorized just for the color of their skin. So as much as you pretend to know about the topic, you don't know crap about our citizens being victimized just for not being a while cisgender male. You can not belittle people or their problems, just sit back, listen, and maybe you'll learn something about it.
