Here For It All album title (110,408)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
It just dawn on me that the Here For It All album title is unlike Mariah Carey's other album titles. It is her first album song title that is symbolic to MC's personal life since Butterfly.

Mariah's reaction to Katy Perry skyrockets (110,407)
by Lambi from USA
| |

I know exactly what you're talking, that could be partly be true on YouTube shorts but I checked, the comments are from real accounts, specifically on the video ET posted on Facebook. The comment section did pass the vibe check though. They roast her but at the same time praise her about being uninformed. Even MC knew it was questionable. They didn't really go to space.

Honestly, I think those comments are bots. I started noticing it around the time MOAIA came out. I started noticing the same negative comments on every single post or article about Mariah. I think it's called astroturfing. It's so that regular people who read the same comments over and over again start thinking they feel that way about it too. A lot of us are on autopilot half the time.
She doesn't seem drunk or high. We all know what people who are drunk or high really sound/act like. I think a lot of it is she has to speak carefully because everything can be taken out of context and made into a sound bite these days. To me she just seems super chill. Like she DGAF anymore, because she knows she has nothing left to prove.
I think the way she answered the question about Katy Perry going to space was classic Mariah. She lives in her own world and doesn't care about pop other stars. That's not even the type of music she listens to. I actually loved her response.

I will never forget when I bought Daydream during the release. I still have the original cassette. My generation is also called cassette-kids here. But back to Mariah, I loved Daydream so much, when "Looking In" was playing as the last song, I coulnd't believe the sadness and the magic that this song creates until today. Pure Mariah and poetic. I memorized the lyrics back then. My favourite parts are:
She smiles through a thousand tears And harbors adolescent fears She dreams of all That she can never be She wades in insecurity And hides herself inside of me
Don't say she takes it all for granted I'm well aware of all I have Don't think that I'm disenchanted Please understand

Mariah's reaction to Katy Perry skyrockets (110,403)
by Lambi from USA
| |

For whatever reason, this is the one that every media outlet picked up and it's going insanely viral right now. It's interesting to see how the general public perceives Mariah. The comments range from: "Is she high?" "Is she drunk?" "Sedated Mariah is forever a mood," to "She sounds like she's had a few."
What's crazy is, I actually thought her recent interviews were decent, definitely better than the ones in Australia. But to the average viewer who isn't a lamb, there's no mercy; they'll just call it like they see it. I really hope she eases up on the meds. While she's not totally disoriented, it's obvious to the casual observer that something feels off.

Daniel Moore vs. Big Jim Wright (110,404)
by Lambi from USA
| |
|
|
This is fun. Daniel worked on In The Mix, Fall In Love At Christmas, Portrait, and Type: Dangerous, which I thought are all mid. I get what you mean though. I think Moore is more encouraging to Mariah about embracing her recent voice after seeing that Mimi session. I can hear him say, "It's okay, we can lower the key here."
Big Jim worked on Circles, Fly Like A Bird, Cry, and It's A Wrap, which are better songs, so to me he's a better match for Mariah musically.
However, Mariah's most superior collaborator will forever be Walter. I know we share this sentiment. It's like music geniuses, match made in heaven. That was God's will. All I Want For Christmas Is You, One Sweet Day, Hero, Outside, Close My Eyes, Forever, My All are unmatched. Mariah hasn't made a ballad quite the same ever since.
I truly do wish she would squash whatever unforgivable sin Walter did to her and just get on making new music.

I am loving the creativity Daniel Moore is bringing out MC more than Big Jim Wright. She seems to me that she is taking risks with her songs with Daniel Moore and being more vulnerable in her lyrics. I feel MC is going to answer a lot of questions in the track Here For It All. I feel we will get know MC better after HFIA.

Petals (110,401)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

Do you think we will get a ballad like Petals on HFIA? MC said it is a deep cut during her BBC Xtra1 Radio interview. I love it. You can tell it is a Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis production. Anyway, I am starting to feel really good about the various musical styles HFIA is shaping up to be. Who cares about charts, ctitics, and awards? I just want an album that I can listen to from beginning to end.

Yes this is very great that Type Dangerous and Mariah are nominated in the R&B category at the MTV Video Music Awards. It would be her first time winning a Moon Man. And the best part is we the fans can help her by voting ten ballots a day for her on the MTV VMA website.

Her performance of Close My Eyes on Rosie is one of my all-time favorite songs sung live. So raw. So vulnerable. I marvel at Mariah's ability to take emotions you can't put the right words too, and she puts words to them in a nice neat package. Looking In is one such song for me personally. That song describes my life.

[It's] pulling near 800k daily on [Spotify] alone. Which is insane. [It's] doing better than most of her full albums. [It's] become her biggest hit in the streaming era. It stood the test of time and its universal, [it's] a hit everywhere, and it doesn't work like that all the time. That type of cheeky and satirical songs, usually stay in that time and era. But not in this case.

by Bobby A from United States

Yes I did, Shezz. When I heard the title track has a mixture of gospel and jazz moments, it made me think back to her most famous improvisation moments with Big Jim Wright. I honestly believe now the 3rd single, The Clark Sisters collaboration, the Paul and Linda McCartney cover, and the Here For It All title track will be the four songs that will be the songs charting high on the iTunes chart on 09.26 and driving physical and streaming sales. I like how MC's interviews are giving us bits and pieces of information about the songs on the album. The interviews are really going to be ramped up after the Labor Day holiday. She will probably talk about the Paul and Linda McCartney cover next during interviews. We will probably get the tracklist two weeks later after the Labor Day holiday.

So in one of the interviews she just said she will be performing 4 songs from HFIA at Sandringham. Bobby A I'm sure you caught that. I hope one of them is the title track which she said has gospel and jazz tangents. If the leaked song titles are to be believed, she wrote that with Daniel Moore. Very unlike her to perform unreleased songs at a concert, that even a festival kind.
While it's taken me a while to get used to her 2025 interview energy, some of them haven't been all that bad. Excited for Alan Carr on Monday. I do hope she starts talking about the album soon, I understand she doesn't want to reveal too much about it this early but then why do all these album interviews. I suppose they're more for her to tell the gp she's doing non Christmas music and she'll probably do more in depth music ones at the time of release like that Genius one she did with Caution.
I love how she was discussing her "defrosting" with an interviewer with such a straight face.
While I did like TD and SS, they're certainly not up there with her more iconic singles from the 2000s. According to insiders, SS remixes are coming soon. Will be interesting if that's true. I'm glad TD is having some success on certain charts. Both the singles, though not MC singles strong, are definitely top 40 worthy for today's music.
I do hope there are a good amount of songs with more mature and meaningful lyrics on the album. SS is a reinterpretation of Honey of sorts, at least a similar subject matter but Honey was written with so much more sophistication.
I have made peace with her 2025 voice but she has full control over her penmanship still.
I understand that she is still chasing success and numbers and that's why she released these singles hoping to grab the attention of the younger audience that drives the streaming based charts now but I really do hope she has more.
Kudos for all the radio interview efforts - time for some podcasts and tv appearances.

"Here for it all? Mariah fans, this one's for you. In 2008, the one and only Mariah Carey came for a special visit to Selfridges and on Monday 11 August she makes a 'Sugar Sweet' return to celebrate the upcoming launch of her 16th studio album 'Here for it all', in conversation with @claraamfo. I love "Save the day" and I think it was going to be the last song on "The art of letting go" if I'm not mistaken. I would like MC to keep her album titles short. I hated "Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel" and "Me I am Mariah The Elusive Chanteuse". I would have simply went with "Imperfect" and "The Elusive Chanteuse". "Here for it all" is fine and I'm looking forward to hearing it. Everyone on my X account seems most excited for the collab with Anderson .Paak.
