Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,729) (91,732) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
You may be number 1 at the start of 2020 but that's a title earned in 2019. When you turn 1 year old, you are not "2" despite being in your second year. If that's a sensible comparison. Which with a bottle and a half of wine seems so.

Lambs rejoice (91,730) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Remember how sad, even bitter some got when Lil Nas X broke Mariah and Boyz II Men's record months ago? Now it looks like that was a small price to pay for every record she broke with AIWFCIY topping the charts this year. And these are records that will likely remain unbroken in this lifetime at the very least. The song is truly her ultimate, most enduring and most distinctive musical legacy.

Even more exciting is its potential to return to the top spot every year from here on out. Congrats to Mariah and the entire Lambily, but our work is far from done. The best part about this milestone is that the publicity that surrounds it makes it a huge promotional beast on its own. Let's keep it there for the next 2 weeks and watch Mariah make even more records before this year ends.

Billboard week of 12.28 (91,729) by SM from Citizen of the World
Does the week of 12.28 Billboard chart count as the first #1 week of 2020 with it being a few days of December into January? If so this is the current week we are streaming/buying that ends this Thursday night. Does anyone know for sure? Thanks.

We are long overdue for a Maxwell duet. Radio would go crazy.

Re: Oh Santa and When Christmas Comes (91,712) (91,727) by Hector from Mexico
That's not going to happen. AIWFCIY has magic on it. It's a very special song since its origin.

Re: Something I noticed on the Hot 100 (91,721) (91,726) by Edward from USA
I also noticed that. The fact it has ascended to #3 is also an amazing accomplishment for a song that was first released in 1958. I saw her on TV rejoicing on her rocking chair. If it tops the charts, it would set an even harder record to break, 61 years to #1. Let's hope it doesn't happen though. I had never heard that song before, but equal opportunity is only fair.

Congratz Mariah #19 (91,725) by Nikki from usa
This is awesome and long overdue. I always knew this would be the 19th #1. I'm so happy. I don't care how long it stays at the top spot. No matter how much people love the holidays, it's still a tricky feat to compete with current popular artists in today's landscape. The competition has been fierce and still will be. I'm glad all the hard work and over time that's been being put in since October has paid off. It's also evident Mariah's been making some moves behind the scenes for 2020.

On another note, I'm not sure how likely it is for current Mariah to be embraced by the masses for future work. She's a touring act now and under contract with LiveNation, so I don't see a whole lot of time being spent to push new singles. She'd require new and different platforms to be seen and heard. I'd never count her out, I just don't see the charts as something she's focused on anymore. She spent most of the 2010's doing creative projects from perfume to makeup and movies to endorsements. I would love to hear "a vibe" from Mariah. Remember the remix to Unforgettable? I miss "a vibe" type of song.

The future (91,724) by We are Lambily from USA
I’m so happy for Mariah but I hope 2020 is the year where we forget the #1s and focus on her amazing, untouchable catalogue. (Unless Mariah stays on top for 3 more weeks into 2020.)

The Butterfly Returns tour is a great way to sing songs nobody would expect, that’s one of the things that made Caution world tour so great. Give us 2-3 medleys of the #1s and then let’s give it a rest. Mariah really has one of the greatest discography’s.

I agree, we need a new single asap, something for the radio. A fun song like or.

And then hit us with a ballad only Mariah knows how, was cute but I need Mariah to go deeper. I know Mariah has more great music in her. She used to live in the studio now she has two precious children that needs her attention to. Remy ma talked about this in the latest episode. When you get children, you can’t spend as much time on the studio.

I’m hoping now that dem kids are a bit grown, they can understand that mommy has to work. We are gonna come for The Beatles. A album with Beyoncé, Drake and even Rihanna would be dope. Mariah please give us what we really want.

What's our opinion on collabs? (91,723) by jaker20 from US
Now that Mariah is at the cusp of beating the most legendary record of all, The Beatles, I'm sure many artists who have ignored her in the past would want to jump to her train and be part of history. Not just collabs with artists, but writers, and producers, etc. Personally I wouldn't want her to get collab no.1, but if she can get one for a quick 20th no.1, then she can save her solo for the 21sth no.1.

By the way, I'm glad Mimi didn't promote the Bieber duet of AIWFC or this would have been another Ed-Sheeran-Beyonce scenario where fans of both artists are claiming the success of the song. AIWFCIY is all Mariah through and through.

Re: 19th No 1 (91,718) (91,722) by jaker20 from US
Yeah this is the right time to release a hot new single. She is probably getting her creative juices flowing right about now, and when she's inspired, we know what can happen (see Emancipation).

Something I noticed on the Hot 100 (91,721) by Sarah from Netherlands
Not to be *that* person but Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree is also really gaining momentum. Currently at #3, up from #5 last week. Let's hope Mariah can hold onto #1. I'm seeing lots of positive articles from all popular websites.

Congrats MC (91,720) by T from USA
When people say "yea but it was bound to happen", they mean for like one week during Christmas. Sure, but this is very different. This is a mid-December #1 hit in 2019. If she stays at #1 for three straight weeks then it will also be a long running #1 hit.

#1's world tour (91,719) by T from USA
I'm thinking she should either have a hot single waiting for January or she should capitalize on this by announcing a #1's world tour. (Singing AIWFCIY in July lol.) Let's keep up the streams and the sales because three weeks in a row and a fourth decade would be huge as the rules could change by next year so three weeks might be all we get. Don't quit now.

Re: 19th No 1 (91,715) (91,718) by Nick from Belgium
That would be great. I hope she and her team use the momentum of the AIWFCIY buzz. She's on top now, it is now that they should make a move and launch her into 2020. Maybe a new uptempo, only Mariah song. No rap collabs. Something like "Dreamlover", "Fantasy", "Emotions", "Touch My Body" or "Always Be My Baby"-ish song. Only pure Mariah. No ballad, we know she can sing the lungs out of her chest. Just a feel good uptempo song. Which makes you happy to hear, to celebrate.

Christmas Tree Farm (91,717) by Edward from USA
Christmas Tree Farm just debuted at #59. I knew this song wasn't a threat to "AIWFCIY". As I said before, it is just a cute song. Hopefully Mariah stay on top for at least three weeks.

Re: 19th No 1 (91,710) (91,715) by Terna from Nigeria
Well even in new material now she will get another number one, I feel like she has broken that curse of her not getting another number one hit. So now it will be much easier to ascend to the top and eventually surpass The Beatles to become that b***h that's number one in the music industry overall. Haha. Anything and everything is possible. Believe. *singing there can be miracles when you believe*

Happy 19th #1 AIWFCIY (91,714) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
Well deserved for a legendary song and artist. Merry Christmas everyone. As far as I am concerned the song has been #1 for years. Lovely that it is officially recognized 25 years later. Only Mariah.

Free Guy trailer with support of Fantasy (91,713) by Nick from Belgium
I was very surprised when I heard this familiair song in the trailer of the upcoming movie Free Guy. One of my favorit songs all time (instant happiness) from my favorite MC-album ever. Let us all hope that 2020 becomes the next golden era for Mariah Carey. It would be a great 30th anniversary for her career. What are your thoughts about the Fantasy sample in the trailer from the upcoming movie Free Guy?

Oh Santa and When Christmas Comes (91,712) by Malcolm from Asia
I hope everyone can discover this gems so we can all pull it off again and make it #1 (even if it's another 25 years ). But congratulations to our Mariah. Well deserved.

#19 (91,711) by Musti from UK
Many lambs have been saying it for years that AIWFCIY will be her 19th. This is so damn good. Congrats M, congrats lambily. Mama lamb brang it once again. I'm particularly happy about this #1 as there is finally no doubt that she has more #1's than Elvis.

Re: 19th No 1 (91,709) (91,710) by Nick from Belgium
He did say that. But I think his vision was in new material. AIWFCIY has been re-released because of its 25 years anniversary. It was bound to happen to become no 1 someday.

Didn't L.A. Reid say that Mariah wouldn't have another no#1?

Without You Madison Square Garden (91,708) by Nick from Belgium
This version is even better than the official released one. I think Without You deserves to be a number 1 hit on the Billboard 100. It was the first no. 1 hit in Belgium for Mariah and probably in lots of other countries too. It is weird it didn't get the no. 1 spot in the US.
