Re: Patti in Philly (88,999) (89,002) by Licia from USA
I thought I was tripping when I saw that pic of her and Patti with that horrible wig. I normally can't tell it's a wig until someone here points it out, but on this picture I immediately saw it. Anyway it was nice to see Patti there in support. We love Miss Patti.

Re: And You Don't Remember and So Blessed (88,995) (89,001) by B from USA
I've always it is was Mariah's upper register. Have you seen the video of her matching a keyboard note for note and besting it?

Re: A No No (88,997) (89,000) by Licia from USA
Who the hell is Shawni? I feel like im pretty up to date on knowing my rappers, but I have no idea who this is. The label may not have made a good choice with getting Stefflon, but at least a few people knew who she was.

Patti in Philly (88,999) by RibbonB from USA
Nice to see Miss Patti went to the Philly show. I wonder what she really thinks of the Caution tour. Mimi looked good, but I wonder why she has such a big, blond wig this time. It seems, bigger, thicker and blonder than ever before, therefore less realistic.

A star is born (the movie) (88,998) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I know it's off-topic. But finally I watched the movie and I'm really impressed by the fantastic Lady Gaga (and Bradley Cooper). Since some said Mariah should do a duet with Celine Dion how about Lady Gaga? I think they could connect better musically.

Why? This Shawni?

Re: A No No (88,993) (88,996) by Matthew from USA
Wow. If this is true B, I kind of feel bad for Stefflon Don. I imagine it felt good to be asked to do the remix for Mariah. She even did a video, so I know she was hoping it would help her with exposure. Then to find out Mimi is doing a for real remix with an artist she likes instead. Ouch. Why would the label do this?

And You Don't Remember and So Blessed (88,995) by Bill from the UK
Hey you all. I've been playing Emotions an awful lot recently. Question for you all: at the end of And You Don't Remember and So Blessed is, what I assumed to be, some form of high pitched wind instrument for the last 30 years. However, I actually think this may be Mariah's upper register blended into the background (as it sounds similar sonically to the opening of Can't Let Go, where she does just that). What do you all think?

Going to see Mariah in CT tomorrow. Super excited.

A No No (88,993) by B from USA
Mariah is releasing a new remix of A No No featuring Shawni tonight at midnight. I guess the label was behind the first remix.

ABMB concert graphics (88,992) by Andrew from London, UK
The graphics moving from the SSFT black and white arty footage into the colour shots of Mariah and her kids in a studio at the key change is pretty spectacular. Really classy. And she's in normal clothes again. Awesome.

I didn't even know it was called the nightmare era until I stated listening a few months ago.

Celine, Mariah, the voices (88,990) by T from USA

No Drug Like Me and The Distance (88,989) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Those who love The Distance out there will likely also enjoy this new offering from Carly Rae Jepsen released last February. Both songs start ethereally, and by the time the beat kicks in, it hits you almost as hard as how the rubbery and elastic beat of The Distance does every time. Both songs share a similar progression as well. If her 2015 album E-mo-tion is to go by, Carly knows and understands pure pop just as well as, maybe even better than Taylor Swift does.

Re: Reception (88,986) (88,988) by Andrew from London, UK
That Madonna is respected by white people and Mariah is not is arguably true. And arguably what both women aim for.

Re: Celine (88,985) (88,987) by 90sMariah from SG
She's so gracious. But I doubt the duet will ever happen because Mariah is too insecure about her voice now and she knows that Celine will swallow her whole when and if they perform their duet live.

Re: Reception (88,976) (88,986) by Matthew from USA
Both Madonna and Mariah command respect for what they've accomplished. Mariah is well regarded in R&B and urban circles, and within the black community. Mariah also gets a lot of love in South America and from hispanic communities. A majority of lambs that do YouTube reviews of her songs tend to be minorities as well. And she is still beloved in Asian countries like the Philippines. Most rappers and players in hip-hop circles also have mad love for Mariah.

Another thing to keep in mind is that we often view ideals like beauty and respectability through a white lens. Institutions like Rolling Stone and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame aren't necessarily looking at Mariah's popularity in South America, Africa and Asia when they make their lists and nominees. So I will grant you the fact that when it comes to white institutions, Mariah is definitely not as high up the list as Madonna. But if we pause to consider other perspectives, I think you'll find that she's just as loved and respected.

He made it clear during MW that he was not feeling that team, the mess and drama, for a show that he said was created for dummies, lol. I loved his directness where that fiasco was concerned and I still side eye all the other active participants.

Re: Latest lawsuit (88,979) (88,981) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Thanks RibbonB for the link of the article. It was interesting to read. That Mr. Burrell knew that there were snakes, well he has it in common with the lambs. That touring shall be her private life is somehow a bit sad. I hope after the Caution tour she'll have some private life and free time to enjoy.

The Mariah Report (88,980) by Dav from Ireland
Guys are you listening to the Mariah Report podcast on iTunes? It's fantastic. Two lambs, lambing out about Mariah every week. They're 4 years and over 200 pod casts in. Enjoy.

Re: Latest lawsuit (88,974) (88,979) by RibbonB from USA
They are Mariah's tethered team. Stella and them are tired of eating raw rabbit again. Poor Mimi called them up from the deep, but they don't go easy.

Speaking of the tethered, Anthony is speaking up. He's professional, nice even. He makes it plain that Stella and crew were greedy money and attention seekers. I still think there's at least one still in payroll, lol. The saddest thing he stated is Mimi's personal life is touring.

Re: Reception (88,975) (88,978) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Yes, Andrew, your opinions are completely objective, while my opinions are completely subjective. What you are saying Mariah is depended on, is quite normal for people to be depended on. If Mariah drinks to much wine, or smoke some weed, that is totally normal.

In the case of other superstars, the dependencies have become so severe, they have become clinically depressed or died.

So, Andrew, how come you have turned in to this person who believes he is the holder of the truth, and firmly believes that other people who believes differently are delusional.
