Right To Dream. Why write a depressingly sad song about hope? Why doesn't she do more unplugged songs that's within her range that doesn't require studio tricks? Why doesn't she do more songs like this that she wouldn't have to lip? Why doesn't she learn the guitar and/or piano so she's not lumped into the songwriting category of "yeah you write" along with Janet, Madonna and Beyonce?

I would ask her about the original version of "Loverboy". Aside from the grief and backstabbing of what was happening in the C-suite, what did she like or dislike about the two different versions.

Mine would be Crapfinity. I don't need to know who it's about because we already know the answer and honestly don't care who any of her songs are about. I would want to know who told her it was a good idea to release that song and why put that song with her super fabulous number ones?

Luckily everyone in the world except America got it as the closing track to the album. Such a wonderfully haunting finish to the album.

Probable one of her hip-hop oriented songs like the underrated "Underneath the Stars Remix", "The Roof" or "Irresistible (West Side Connection)". Also, one of my favs "Everything Fades Away" which I'm upset didn't make it as an main album track on Music Box.

Great topic. My first thought was Thirsty so I can say simply "Nick or Damizza", but then I realised that would be a waste of time as I know it's about Damizza. I think instead I would choose one of her more ambiguous songs. Maybe Vanishing. I always thought it was about memories of her father, so I would love to know who she was singing about.

Thirsty. I am still trying to figure out who the song is about. I would ask her who was her inspiration behind Thirsty.

Languishing. Or I Wish You Well. Is it "This goes out to you, and you, and you know who you are" or just "goes out to you"? How many people is that song about? But I would rather need an album for a discussion, not just a single song.

Just curious, Lambily. If you had the opportunity to speak with Mariah to ask her about one of her songs, which song would it be? For me, I would love to discuss "Close My Eyes". I know she has spoken publicly about it, but I would be really happy to hear it from her directly. What do y'all think?

Super sexy MC (82,592)
by Bobby A from United States

If MC loses any more weight, she is going look like she did when Touch My Body premiered. She is looking so sexy and beautiful right now. I am even motivated to drop a few pounds for the summer. Her video for the first single is going to be hot. She is going flaunt her body all over the video. You know she is feeling super confident right now. Her vocals should sound really good too. I feel a new single is coming towards the end of June so she can sing it during the residency. There sure isn't a song of summer contender right now. No More Tears Left To Cry - maybe so or not. It would be grand if MC held the song of summer title for 2018. Shut those naysayers down.

Hmm and today a woman from South-Korea told me the Buddhists say: if you have problems, you will be rescued. Nice isn't it? And Yoda says: Patience you must have. But to talk about the original subject, I do think Mariah has spent a lot to different organizations. In the past somebody posted a list on this board with all the known organizations she was connected to. A long list. And we don't know what she does or has privately. If every rich person would spend something it would help a lot of course. Mariah has also helped so many people just with her beautiful music. And to "feed" the soul is important too.

After G. Michael passed away, my next dream collaboration for MC is Lenny Kravitz. Nothing commercial, just two different artists creating great track. I was listening to his later albums recently (Strut, Love Revolution and Baptism). Live collaboration would be great as well.

I think some of the people on Fox News Channel, televangelist who spend millions of dollars on private jets, and some Christians who don't read their Bibles make all Christians look bad. I don't want to live in the world from A Handmaid's Tale either. I believe in loving people and to do that we must give everyone the free will to choose, just as God gave us. The canaanite civilization was so totally corrupt that coexistence with them would have been a threat to the survival and spiritual welfare of the Hebrew nation. God is the one who gives life and he has the authority to take it away. In the new testament, when Jesus came to Earth, he taught us (in Romans 12) to live "peaceably with all men" and "Never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, 'I will take revenge; I will pay them back." I do believe a wife should be respectful and submissive to her husband - but by choice not force. A marriage is a team and a team works better if there is a designated leader. This works if the husband also loves and respects God because if he does he will be kind, love his wife, treat her well, and not use his authority to opress her. If you're talking about what it says in 1 Timothy, that was a letter given by Paul to Timothy - not to the church. In many other parts of the bible Paul supports leadership of women and equality. Which brings me (and many others) to believe that 1 Timothy was referring to something specific and not intended for the whole church. The Bible's moral teachings are intended to help us live according to God's will, not condemn other people. Jesus taught us to eliminate the sin in our own lives rather than passing judgement or looking down on others and said that if we judge harshly we would also be judged harshly by him. We are all sinners and God loves all of us despite of that. If we think we are better or more Holy than those we consider to be "sinners" then we ourselves are guilty of the sin of self-righteousness. Jesus taught by word and example not to be self righteous or shun those we consider to be sinners. He also taught in (Romans 12) Don’t just pretend to love others. Really love them. I'll admit it is hard for me to not judge when I see evil in the world. Like when I hear about sex trafficking. Or I see people so hopped up on drugs that they don't have any kindness or compassion in them, not even for their own children. It's one thing (among many) I'm working on. I see your point about her having tons of money and having the power to make a real change in the world. I have a feeling she does help financially. It takes a special person to be able to speak up and be a vocal social justice warrior, though. I wanted to be one when I was younger, my first degree was in social work. But I don't like to argue and I'm not really good at it. I have emotional intelligence but I don't have intelligence like yours where I can quickly come up with smart things to say. If I were to be a guest on Fox News they would eat me alive with their anger and the way they speak in circles. We all have different gifts. My brother is the first gay person I ever met. He came out to me when I was in high school. He is the most beautiful spirit I have ever encountered in my life. There is no way he is wicked. He is kind and smart, like Mensa level smart; he lives his life in service to others. People have straight up been cruel and rude to him and he just forgives them. He's a way better person than me. The church's stance on homosexuality is the reason I left for so many years. I've only been back for a few. I have prayed and asked God to help me understand this but the only answer I've gotten is that my job is just to love people. So that's what I do. I am thankful I am free to worship the way I choose and I would never take that right away from anyone or try to impose my beliefs on anyone. I don't think sharing them right now is the same as imposing them.

Jessie J - R.O.S.E. (82,584)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
| |
|
|
Anybody else feel like they have known about an artist for a long time, and despite their undeniable talent, there's always been a few things about them that ticked you off and kept you from fully investing in their material? That's how I always felt about Jessie J. She is a very capable vocalist who has always rubbed me the wrong way - whether it be the obnoxious oversinging, shamelessly Top 40-geared singles, standoffish vibe, etc. It wasn't until just yesterday when I came across her newest release that I finally heard her being herself and speaking her mind. R.O.S.E. is an album dropped in 4 EP installments: Realisations, Obsessions, Sex and Empowerment. While the songs aren't necessarily too on-the-nose in representing the theme of the EP they respectively belong to, the set as a whole is still a very strong set of tunes clearly designed to express rather than burn up the charts. In fact, none of them are really commercial or radio-friendly at all, hence the limited success of all its preceding singles. It's just nice hearing an artist break away from what they are known for, even if it costs them commercial success. It's a dark, modern R&B album that definitely feels like an awakening. This is one of my faves, Dopamine, which boasts of a sound that may not be fresh, but something that I would like Mariah to try in the future, because I think her current vocals and staccato singing will work well with it.

Yes, I don't pertain to know everything Mariah does. It was intended as a humorous observation on celebrities who claim to be freedom-fighting social justice warriors, who oft lecture on the ills of the world and how they should be fixed, whilst they sit on vast sums of wealth that they do not need, that could right many ills for a great many people. And maybe quote something other than a hideous work of mumbo jumbo that endorses genocide, demands that women have no authority over men, requires punishment for homosexuality and so on. Unless, that is, you agree with all of that. Which you are perfectly entitled to do, of course.

She lost that ring (82,582)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Finally, Mariah is letting go of old baggage. This new album is going to be filled with a lot of Red Table talk. 1. The Ring. 2. Stella. 3. Packer 4. Damizza 5. Demi 6. Tanaka. What I find interesting with this album secrecy is that no one knows who the producers and beat makers are for the new album. Poo Bear is just a songwriter and vocalist. He never takes on the role of producer when he collaborates with other artists. Well, 2018 is proving to be Mariah taking her own advice of letting go. We better get a Ed Sherran collaboration with new album. He could become the one to replace Big Jim Wright with the ballads.

I Pray (82,581)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I always feel that I Pray was supposed to be included in The Emancipation Of Mimi, and she decided to omit the song because of two reasons: the first reason was because LA Reid made her to record more songs with Jermaine therefore several songs from the original tracklist needed to be omitted. Second reason, the way Paul Robbins sings on the song is exactly carbon copy of Mariah's technique and style. The true lambs would notice this. So I'm convinced that the original audio of Mariah singing this song is definitely in her catalogue. I'm praying one day Mariah would release this and other songs like Where Are You Christmas and Last Chance (Allure song but Mariah wrote and produced this song).
