Music sales are dismal (81,465) by RibbonB from USA Good luck to Mimi and any other artist in this economy and state of music sales. Taylor Swift is the only artist in the past two years to sell more than 2 million CDs in the US. She and Ed Sheeran were the only two to sell over one million in 2017. There is a new Billboard article detailing the dismal results. The most recent big success was Adele 25 with over 9 million to date. She is the one rare exception these days and it is not likely to get better. Since 1997, as I recall, industry sales have declined from 700 million to 500 million in 2007 down to a dramatically low 100 million in 2017. (Thursday 22 March 2018; 03:28)

(New York City) I have to agree with Licia when she lost her weight back in 08 it did nothing to improve her instrument, it just allowed her to have better breath control. Unless Mariah is working on vocal exercises and cutting back on her alcohol consumption what is left of her voice that she still will eventually be gone. Hopefully she is taking things seriously considering everything in last three years that has made her and her image take a major hit. If she comes back with the right material, the right attitude, and she takes her performances more seriously she will be fine, it is all up to her. (Thursday 22 March 2018; 00:49)

Being overweight and on top of that having these humongous implants pressing against her chest probably have an impact on her breathing and her ability to sustain certain notes. Working with a vocal coach consistently minus "splashing" or "blazing" would also help. The fact is that when Mariah was pregnant with gestational diabetes she sounded better than ever, but she wasn't blazing underneath the stars or splashing herself to bed back then. In 2008 when she lost alot of weight she still sounded kind of bad most of the time. The weight loss may help her with breathing better and having better control (I read that somewhere lol) while singing, but not with bringing her voice back anywhere close to it's former glory. Like I said I'm no expert. You vocal coach lambs can chime in at anytime. (Wednesday 21 March 2018; 23:15)

Happy anniversary to "The Roof" (81,455) by Tijl from Belgium Yesterday marked the 20th anniversary since "The Roof" was launched as a single in Europe. This song remains my all time favourite Mariah track. The mood, composition and lyrics paint such a sensual and striking picture. The video was great with Mariah looking sexy yet demure. The fact that it reminds me of a sultry romance from my past that occured very much the same way (it was November, it was raining and there was Moet&Chandon) as described in the song only intensifies its appeal.
