Beyoncé realized that and go listen to her last singles, not one is vocally demanding. I agree Unforgettable is a good direction. Mariah has a distinctive tone that is for me more important than her belts. I'd like her to take a bit more pop direction too, not necessarily with Walter. Almost home was really underrated pop song. Celine in Manila (83,209) by 90sMariah from SG I'm trying to dissect her performances on which songs and which parts she is lip syncing, but it's too difficult. I guess the only way to check is to play her performances on top of the other. She is just too darn good at it. But one thing is for sure though is that she when she comes in to add her ad libs at the end of her songs, her voice still matches the possibly pre-recorded parts. What I'm saying is that her live and pre-recorded voice are seamless. Even the audio and sound mixing are impeccable. Celine is so fun to watch with her down to earth theatrics and personality. She doesn't dance nor does she run around the stage, but her stage presence and showmanship shines through. Someone we know or may not know should maybe try and emulate Celine's dedication and professionalism. That's all. (Saturday 21 July 2018; 09:22)

There are artists, like Beyonce and Madonna, whose passion comes from the performance side of things, and you can see it in the level of detail they put into that aspect. Mariah is most passionate in the studio. And yet she has embarked on a series of tours and bookings which I can only assume is at the behest of the label. It's frustrating to see her spend time lip-syncing though and it's frustrating that whoever is handling her only cares about the money. Tours make more money than albums today. I hope the label and handlers will reinvest some of that money into promotion when her album finally drops, but we know the label strategy is to "leak" singles. If something is a insta-hit, it gets promoted. Otherwise, crickets. Mariah still has a voice. It is ridiculously inconsistent. But given 12 or so takes in the studio, I believe she can stitch something together. She's always been good at that. She has a good ear and pen skills. At this point, make music, experiment with sounds and genres, collab with new artists and take ideas from them as well. I don't care if it's a hit. Most good music today isn't. And if the CEO's and execs won't let her, then she needs to emancipate herself yet again. There's no point trading sing-sing for yet another kind of touring prison. (Saturday 21 July 2018; 08:46)

In fact, it's the best thing she's done for years. That song stayed within the range she has now and wasn't falsified, and was also current and a completely new style. It was so refreshing. And if her voice is gone gone, then maybe it's time she hung up the chaise lounge and concentrated on having what I'm sure would be a very, very successful end career as a songwriter and producer. Any observant fan would know the difference. The general public knows as well, although to a lesser extent. If she, despite living a more disciplined (i.e. more boring) lifestyle still does not help her sing better than she does now, then she just has to work around better ways to take advantage of what she currently has. The funny thing is that she already does these things - dropping key, rearranging, etc. - but just not as much as lipping. So if she were to lip, then she should go back to the recording booth, do a 2018 version of her vocals for the songs and use that. Lipping is practially a criminal offense for vocalists, but if she does it well and right like Celine has mastered better than her, she'll be fine. It's all about being convincing. If you're gonna sell something, you might as well sell it hard. It's still unfair to the fans who have paid their hard-earned money to see her, but it still beats jarringly shifting between 2018 and 90s/00s vocals anytime. (Saturday 21 July 2018; 05:19)

If Celine can (83,204) by Lainsky from Philippines Mariah can do too. I love and believe in her no matter what. Celine Dion is 49 and just had her 2-nights concert here in Manila. She sang those songs with high long notes like in her early days not as close as the original but still very very very close, on point and with so much energy. Watching her made me realize that these two divas started their careers almost at the same time and both were popular at the same time. Up to this day Celine has maintained her vocal prowess. Watching Mariah in her TBR videos, seemed like she has resorted to simply entertaining the crowd and business. Her heart seemed to be no longer on performing and it shows on her vocal performance. I know Mariah still has that vocal prowess in her. I could be wrong but perhaps it's their heart and a sense of balance for their respective music careers and life that makes a difference between the two. This is just an observation I came up after seeing Celine. I mean Mariah can learn something from her. Mariah's fan still deserves that heart-pouring performance from her (Saturday 21 July 2018; 04:08)

Let's tweet storm MC at that time begging and pleading for her and Walter A. to collaborate again for her 15th studio album in the coming weeks. We have to let her know that Lambs are longing for another Walter A. collaboration. It makes sense now to do this now in her career. It worked for Johnta Austin this week. (83,196) (83,202) by B from USA Mariah has stated that Walter ran to Tommy and told him he thought Mariah was making a mistake by working with the producers and collaborators she was wprking with which he confronted Mariah about and the only way he would have known was if Walter told him, Mariah isn't an idiot. He's bitter Mariah was able to succeed without him. If she hadn't changed her sound she would have followed Celine into irrelevance in 2002. By taking her music in an urban direction she been able to remain relevant as an R&B artist, which she's always been. She's never been a pop star, she was only a pop star when R&B was considered pop in the 90's and 2000's. (Saturday 21 July 2018; 01:00)

If she had lost even half of her voice her whistle register would have been the first to go followed by most of her upper register. This wouldn't be anything like her bipolar announcement. She'd basically be telling everyone that the very product she is selling no longer works. Such an announcement might make some lambs happy, but it would certainly drive away whatever casual fans she has left. Everyone already knows that her voice isn't even half of what it used to be. What she does need to do is to stop touring so much. I don't think her voice is completely gone, but she definitely hasn't been a reliable live singer for a long time. Although I'm very satisfied with her recent Can't Let Go performances, watching her lip ISB entirely was just embarrassing. She should stick to the studio where she knows how to shine, with or without a bit of studio magic. One can only hope that her new material will be true to her current voice, but whatever she chooses to do I'm still here for her commercial releases. (Saturday 21 July 2018; 00:12)

Sure he wrote songs with Mariah on her albums but Mottola was his boss, no? He worked for the label, didn't he? Wouldn't it be a bit like being a lawyer for Dewey, Suwem and Howe and being asked by a dropped client to quit the firm and work part time for her? I don't know much on the subject but I never understood the source of Mariah's ire. I do agree with the person who said that Mariah may be embarrassed to sit at a piano with him and sing. The only thing I ever really remember about Walter is actually Mariah sitting with him at a piano and demonstrating how they compose, and desperately wishing what she hummed was one day turned into a song. (83,188) (83,196) by Bill from the UK There's no evidence anywhere that Walter and Mariah fell out over the direction Butterfly was taking and that Walter and Tommy wanted a sequel (or "squeal") to Daydream. Tommy was the Executive Producer of the record. If he wanted Daydream 2, he would have got it. Walter's contribution to the album was very much in the same gear he's been driving in since he came on the scene. Walter revealed that My All and Whenever You Call were, to his standard at least, unfinished as they stopped working together during the album's creation. Mariah thought the ballads sounded better being sparse and without Walter's "schmaltz". The reason they fell out, which Mariah herself has said, was because during the separation he sided with Tommy. It makes no sense to me that she'd avoid working with him because she's embarrassed about something that she's showcased to the whole world already. Walter A. (83,188) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City) During the creation of Butterfly there was a lot of disagreements about the direction. Tommy and company wanted a squeal to Daydream as Mariah wanted to go in another direction and Walter wanted to appease Tommy instead of Mariah and she felt betrayed and that is where their relationship went sour and never recovered so unless there is a miracle or an act of God Mariah has put Walter in her past and she has that right.
