Sure, try listening to them in such sequences. There is a narrative behind most. I guess you can't go wrong with such a brilliant, expansive catalog to choose from.

this_is_qhm from the Philippines, great clusters. They are so good, I'll copy them to put them into my playlist. The different themes and songs are perfect for any kind of mood. That's one thing I love about Mariah.

Miss Jade-a-kiss, a certain Mr Hakan Hett will have spent a year being an Angels Advocate on May 22. I am up for doing a Carey-oke around then with you if you like, and toasting him. Any with anyone else in the UK or further afield for that matter. Let's av a good ole knees up aroun' the joanna hah and talk about and sing Mariah all day, of course.

Seems like you have the strange fixation, stop projecting. You also have a strange fixation on a singer who you appear to despise. Now go get your argument fix elsewhere, I will not waste my time.

Agree that a light and breezy summer single like Dreamlover and Beautiful would be the best. Mariah is at her best when she is not taking herself so seriously in a musical way. However, she really needs to go back to making songs that are sing-a-long-able. Post 90's Mariah Carey music is either mostly trying to be clever and thus not remotely karaoke or just plain too stressful to sing (and sometimes listen to, also). Infinity and Obsessed are good examples of songs too showboating in composition and production to be something people can sing along to in their homes; WBT and its sequels are good examples of extreme singing and songwriting - where once there would be a middle eight and maybe a chord change with some sustained notes, now we just get another verse screeched an octave higher (that is never reproduced live). Asked to sing a Mariah karaoke song and you would not choose anything post 90's. She needs to write for what people want to hear now. And I think that people want to hear songs they feel comfortable singing along to.

That was hilarious. They obviously playfully crack on each other. A year or so ago, Mariah referred to Roc as a freaking comedian. Wouldn't you love to hear some of his jokes then? Don't hold your breath on the rest. The video of Roc and Roe dancing behind the baby had me rolling. The random steps were hilarious.

I do have a few of such "clusters" or special mini playlists that I put on depending on my mood.
The string of sample-heavy lead singles: Dreamlover Fantasy Honey Heartbreaker Loverboy
The buck-up power pack: Outside Can't Take That Away Through The Rain I Wish You Well Heavenly
The WBT and its attempted recreations: We Belong Together Don't Forget About Us I Stay In Love Love Story Last Kiss Faded
The dreamy, sparkly, saccharine cotton candy cloud of reverie: Underneath The Stars Fourth Of July Bliss Yours Supernatural
And the Latin summer fling: My All After Tonight I Only Wanted

My reflective moody cluster: Looking In Close my eyes Petals I wish you well Languishing "Fly like a bird" had way too much energy and a chirpier vibe to make that cluster.

That video Nick posted of Roc telling Nick he needed to get some "gooder" shoes had me rolling. Now the lambs can calm down now. Roc isn't traumatized by his dad talking about his ugly Uggs. Those shoes Nick had on were pretty ugly so I'd say Roc got him good.

Interesting concept. One of my "clusters" (I guess the moodier one) is comprised of the following: "Alone In Love", "Sent From Up Above", "Do You Think of Me", "Long Ago", "The Roof", "I Still Believe (Stevie J. Remix)", "All My Life", "Lullaby", "For the Record", "HATEU", "Faded".

It is a dumb rule. I always thought that rule was instated because they didn't want artists to have too much success off of the diversification of one song. Another hoop to jump through. Pettiness really.

So I was making a Mariah album for a particular chilled out mood when I thought about similarities amongst songs. I've grouped together a cluster of songs that are similar, would love to hear your thoughts on the same/different clusters if that makes sense. I hope Mariah makes an album that updates her signature sound seamlessly without sounding desperate. I really hope she doesn't release an album like Beyonce or Lemonade, Bey's worst in my opinion. I want midtempos, uptempos, and ballads.

I didn't know there was a new rule with the remixes. Interesting. But that explains a lot. I'm lucky as well to have experienced the time where a remix was a real remix. (Sometimes even better than the original song.)

That's a sucky rule that Billboard made. Now we're stuck with crappy remixes. Real artists aren't allowed create greatness because the industry is now catering to these twat waffle artists that are more image than music. I'm glad I got to experience the era of great remixes.
