Re: Mariah's most inspiring song (80,677) (80,683) by B from USA
Can't nobody say Mariah don't love having a ton of background singers on stage with her. The woman even sings with choirs as her backing vocalists. I think she's a huge fan of Phil Spector's wall of sound. Plus she's not as nervous when she's not up there alone. I've also noticed that she tends to harmonize with her backing vocalists. Especially Trey. Has anyone else ever noticed that?

I just want them in a studio together. The man and his team are so talented and versatile just like Mariah. I imagine they'd create a soulful uptempo and an epic ballad or two.

Mariah looks stunning on the red carpet while talking to Beyonce. Mariah looks like she did during 97 and 98 and 05 and 08. She looks better than Beyonce. Stunned. If she wants to score a comeback she's got her body back so I think she needs to bring it musically and vocally. Here's a video of Mariah and Beyonce.

I don't have a good or bad opinion on Bruno Mars. I did watch his concert special on tv and it did nothing for me. It would be interesting to see what they would create for music. But, I am really hoping for new Mariah music that is just her.

Honestly this post was hysterical and the fact that anyone truly thought you were making fun of the Titanic was bleak. I agree with you 100%. The video was an absolute disaster.

Excuse me. Why am I the only one who is miffed by all the extra background singers on the live performances of My All and Through The Rain, when there are none on the records? Oh wait I'm repeating myself again. I have called you, you stopped calling me. And I desperately wanted to weigh in on you being called a racist homophobic Mariah hater but why have both of us hated, when it could just be you? My status on this board is mildly disliked but since I'm cute and love MC's obscure tracks, I'm somewhat tolerable. And I'll have you know that my Spring semester students have not had to hear MC yet. They've had to listen to Marvin Gaye, Madonna and The Dixie Chicks. They don't get Mariah until we get to more complex American literature. Right To Dream is still the best lyric ever written. It should run for President in 2020. Someone's had some splashes.

I really need Mariah to collaborate with him. Look at this mashup . Only him can bring her old vibes with a fresh sound.

Thank you for standing by me Andrew dahling. I am astounded by the lack of humour on this board. I was a teenager in the '90s when being overtly PC wasn't the esprit-tendance and one was aloud to be outspoken and have a personality.

Randy, I love you. Still in January and you've mentioned the TTR background singers. Bracing myself for Right To Dream February, and mentions of 11th grade English students writing about Mariah in March. Kidding. I do love you, however. Even though you don't call anymore. Or send me flowers. (Okay, you never sent me flowers, but I think maybe you should.)

You didn't insult anyone or anything. The usually level-headed Bill lapsed into a snowflake for a moment and tried to shame you with an argumentum ad absurdum by which someone doesn't like your opinion so extrapolates offence from it and tries to publicly shame you into an apology in order to get a quick "win". Like most of the snowflakes on here. Don't apologise or recognise their social justice warrior games. It drives them insane. (No fish were hurt in the writing of this message.)

Yes, I agree with you Victoria. That's why I don't reply to the negativity. Just like they teach us when we are in elementary school, if we ignore the bullies they will get bored and go away. Perhaps the biggest gift would be for him to take his type of talent to the we don't know her page. Maybe that's where he posts his positive stuff and just lurks here for kicks. I refuse to give in to it. I'm only posting this type of response once, as I hope the ones that respond to him, will give up and ignore all his posts, and he goes away.

I agree GG. But, obviously the hint of nastiness and racism isn't strong enough for this person to be removed. Just ignore and move on. Attention seeking behavior is at an all time high these days, especially with social media being at the forefront. Just ignore it , that's the best thing you can do. People hide behind keyboards and say nasty things that they wouldn't dare say to people's faces. The DSM is filled with diagnoses for these types of people. So, move right along my love. It ain't even worth it. Bloop.

Why do any of you still read his posts? He's consistently negative and then will be a good little boy for awhile. I have not read anything he has to say in many, many months. He's not worth getting upset about. It's what he feeds off of.

Yes, I love that live performance on Letterman from 93 or 94. Both Mariah and the choir gave an inspired performance. It's like by the end if the song she commands everything to be alright.

To be honest we all have expressed some kind of disappointment with Mariah throughout the years. But this a place where everyone comes to discuss Mariah whether it be our like or dislikes. But when messages become disrespectful and sometimes with a racist tone that is a major problem. I personally don’t mind different stories and opinions regarding MC but it does become uncomfortable when people come here just to cause an uproar with nasty, rude, disrespectful and at times racist comments that is not cool and should never be allowed here no matter who the offender or offenders are.

Mariah's most inspiring song (80,663) by Randy from USA
I gotta say, I've never been a fan of Hero. Even in 94. But I do love the mashup with Never Too Far especially her Home for the Holidays live performance in the red dress. I've always loved Anytime You Need a Friend. However, Mariah's Theme was my favorite until Through The Rain. And I can't believe it doesn't get more love in this particular discussion. Unfortunately, she's never performed it 100% live without a wall of background singers. Which really pisses me off because there is not one background singer on the song. In addition, she's abandoned it. But I can't tell y'all how many mornings on the way to work the line "shadows grow close" reminds me how dark our eternal optimist can be even in the middle of a hopeful moment. That song means a lot to me personally. I probably play it three times a week.

We are here on that. I've never met anyone else that finds Anytime You Need A Friend as inspiring as I do. It's definitely my runner up to FLAB. I also love love love My Saving Grace.

AYNAF is a beautiful song. The "don't you ever be lonely" on the second chorus is, for some reason, the best line she's ever delivered. It gets me every time.

FLAB is iconic, Mimi must have been inspired when she wrote it. Anytime You Need a Friend is a favorite and most inspiring Mimi song of all time.
