My feelings exactly. HFIA is much better than Caution. Easiest to listen to from start to finish. One of her most lyrically honest efforts. Kids now will worship anything except true talent. Mariah is a has been for most of them. They simply can't relate. We grew up with her music, most of us did anyway.

Absolutely. All the long time fans/lambs did buy her new music. So it's not because of "us" that it sold weaker than "Caution". Casual listeners don't care at all for her nowadays, that's it. The teens have there own "stars", so what's left are her long time fans. I also like "HFIA" better than "Caution". Yeah, maybe a gospel or jazz album could generate more listeners because it's a special genre.

Article: Live review: Fridayz Live 2025 featuring Mariah Carey (112,102)
by Max from Germany
| |
|
|
A few years ago I went to one of her concerts and it wasn't well attended. Mariah called everyone to gather in front of the stage. After we were all at the front, security called us back to our seats. Mariah was really angry and left the stage immediately. After 45 minutes she came back and suddenly her hair was straight instead of curly and she just performed her show in a cold manner. But when she noticed that the audience was singing along she relaxed and had fun. I think touring is really tough and she should give herself more breaks. Mariah doesn't have to prove anything to anyone anymore. However, we don't know why she's playing so many concerts. Mariah should have enough money. But I have no idea how much money she paid or is paying Nick so she can keep the children. Who knows what else he might have to say about her. Lawyers are expensive. Combined with her illness, it's a tough burden to bear. I'm glad about HFIA, it is still a masterpiece. As far as I'm concerned, Mariah doesn't need to tour anymore and can just release a new album if she wants. The main thing is that she's okay. She did enough.

I would say that the "lambs" are probably the only ones still supporting her and her releases. The general public moved on a long time ago. I buy the singles and cds but I never play them, it's easier for me to stream, and so I do, almost daily. Lambs getting the blame and the hate for no reason. We are the only ones who care.

Honey (112,098)
by Lara from Middle East

I've just watched the Honey video and wanted to say I miss that Mariah. I mean I know people change. She was sexy without overdoing it , the way she runs on the sand at then end effortlessly and carefree. You can see she was less self conscious. Her recent videos are just too calculated and missing that vibe. I wish her team would help her get over they personal hurt that makes her want to hide behind that image and let her sweetness shines through.

I wish Mariah would write a song about her mother. I know it's a lot to ask. She would be bearing her soul and would and to be the human version of herself, but I think it would be cathartic and offer her fans, the lambily, an introspective look into her mourning. Too soon? Maybe. But we got Sunflowers for Alfred Roy. Maybe we can a get a song for Patricia too. It certainly would be the most relatable topic. I'm not saying exploit her loss, but offer a window into her grief.

Saying the "lambs" never support or show love to her evee is unfair. The truth is, there just aren't that many of us left in the US anymore. We've always shown up for her. She sold what she sold because of that loyalty. Unfortunately, the casual listeners don't seem as interested these days, and they're the ones who really drive major album sales. Personally, I bought one copy, gifted another to my sister, and still stream it from time to time.

I would love for MC to work with just four producer/songwriter partners and one female songwriter only for her next album. It would be a formula for TEOM II.
1. Babyface, Darryl Simmons, and Antonio Dixion 2. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis 3. Tricky Stewart, Ben Parris, and Kuk Harrell 4. Tank and J. Valentine 5. Muni Long

I would rather have something from the vault than another HFIA. Release the demotape, the version of All in My Mind that she teased us with during covid. There are more songs from that time that I would love to listen to. Release Someone's Ugly Daughter. That is an album I definitely would play over and over again. Release an album with old cover songs. Release more live stuff on videos. I know there are a lot of them.

I think if there was they would have been put on the special edition. She rushed that album and half of it is made up of interludes and remixes so I doubt she had anything left. I think the only song from that period was There For Me which I assume wasn't ready for when the album was released.

To be honest although it's a good song and very 1999 it's probably my least favorite on Rainbow. I love the Rainbow album. I would like to know are there any unreleased songs that didn't make the album? I definitely wanna hear them.

HFIA a month after (112,070)
by Lainsky from Philippines

After listening to the album twice a day, almost every day for nearly a month now, I thought of ranking it with the rest of her albums. Additionally, I considered ranking the singles according to my personal preference. I excluded Christmas albums and compilations intentionally.
1. Butterfly (It will always be on top.) 2. Glitter (It has grown so much in me that it made it to second best.) 3. Music Box (Top Pop album for me.) 4. Daydream (Top Pop & R&B.) 5. E=MC2 (While it is a second version of Mimi, I like more songs in here.) 6. The Emancipation of Mimi 7. Here For It All (If it were released in the 90s, it could be a sure-fire hit.) 8. Caution (I think it will do way better if released during, instead of MIAMTEC.) 9. Rainbow 10. Mariah Carey 11. Charmbracelet 12. Emotions 13. Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel 14. Me I Am Mariah The Elusive Chanteuse
And for the singles of HFIA - I ranked them through my '90s & early '00s self, lol. I realized that her "formula" has not changed, which I believe represents her musical artist identity.
1. Type Dangerous 2. Sugar Sweet 3. In Your Feelings 4. Play This Song 5. I Won't Allow It 6. My Love 7. Nothing Is Impossible 8. Here For It All 9. Jesus I Do 10. Mi 11. Confetti & Champagne
There's still hope for this album through continuous promotion and releasing singles with nice music videos. In Your Feelings, My Love, I Won't Allow It, and finally, the title track are good potential hits. She can reduce their price (like they used to in the 90s) as a Christmas gift. They can tie the promotion during this season. Nothing is impossible, right?

I don't think her drive is dead. MIAMTEC took a while because dem babies were still dependent. The waiting period between MIAMTEC and Caution was 4 years and that's not that far apart from the 3 years in between Charmbracelet, Emancipation and E=MC2. Mariah wrote a whole book in 2020 (she locked in at 2017) so HFIA taking that long is pretty valid. I'd say she is just more chill with writing now, no rush, just let ideas cook and simmer and it'll be released when it's ready.
