My top 10 remixes (106,628) by Robert-Anthony from United States
I love your list, Matty. I wish MC would release The Remixes II on CD/vinyl. MC doesn't realize the sales power she has releasing various collections from her vast catalogue multiple times each year. I don't understand why it is not happening more like what P!nk has done in between new album releases. Lambs would buy new releases every time.

Article: Mariah surprises with her first career hit on one chart (106,623) by Matty from Vancouver Canada
Thanks for this. 2013 seems late to notice Electronic was popular and needed a chart. Some of these charts seem redundant. But I guess music on X Box is a thing? I don't know her. Club Songs is clear as a chart, but I guess this Club/Electronic is more all encompassing than just literal Club DJ play in da club. If they introduced this chart in 2012, maybe Triumphant would have charted.

Caution picture disc (106,621) by Robert-Anthony from United States
I sold my numbered Caution picture disc yesterday for car repairs. Now I am feeling sad about it. I am just kicking myself because I know the rules of selling vinyl to get the most cash, but I didn't follow my own rules this time. I sold some other newer pricey vinyl records together right at closing time. Oh well, it is just a picture disc for the nostalgia and you never get the best sound from a picture disc. Right? Just 1 of my 200 plus MC items in my collection since 1990. Here are six rules for selling your vinyl to get the most cash.

Rule #1 - Sealed, Original Master Recordings and import records are worth $$$$$.

Rule #2 - Never sell CDs and DVD's with your vinyl records. Selling them with your vinyl records will cause the salesman to lowball you and give you less cash for the vinyl.

Rule #3 - Sell numbered picture discs and regular picture discs separately.

Rule #4 - Sell classic rock and jazz separately. Classic R&B is only worth $$$$ money if the vinyl record is rare or out of print.

Rule #5 - Always have an generic sleeve for the vinyl record and clean with a vinyl cloth whenever you sell.

Rule #6 - Check eBay, Discogs, and Amazon before you decide to put a vinyl record in your selling stack to know if the records with give the most cash.

Charli XCX (106,620) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Her new album Brat is really good. Waterloo Records played it yesterday while I shopped. I was pleasantly surprised how it sounded. It is probably the best pop/dance album this year.

I skipped this song when I listened to the album for the first time. It is growing on me now.

Article: Mariah surprises with her first career hit on one chart (106,618) by lighty from China
According to Wikipedia: As a result of the increase in the popularity of dance and electronic music, Billboard introduced the Dance/Electronic Songs chart in January 2013 to rank the most popular dance and electronic songs according to airplay audience impressions, digital downloads, streaming and club play and publishes it on a weekly basis. They are tracked by Nielsen SoundScan, Nielsen BDS, BDS from streaming services including Spotify and Xbox Music, and from a United States-wide select panel of 140 DJs; it uses the same methodology as is used for the all-genre Billboard Hot 100. It is separate to the Dance Club Songs and Dance/Electronic Digital Songs charts, the former of which is ranked by most popular club play and the latter by the most sales. Songs will be eligible to chart on the Dance/Electronic Songs chart based on their "core sound and tempo", however dance remixes of songs which were originally pop, R&B, rap or a different genre are not eligible for inclusion, regardless of whether it appears on either the Dance Club Songs or Dance/Mix Show Airplay charts.

The Boy Is Mine (106,617) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ariana's got another hit coming with this new song. I would've love a collab with Mariah on the original of this song instead of "Yes, and?". Also the video is amazing, I mean stalking the ultimate stalker, Penn Badgley (You and Gossip Girl) and paying homage to Batman/Catwoman universe all in one, iconic. I hope Mariah invests in her music video with concept. Ariana's BIM and We Can't Be Friends music videos both have so much replay value and I love all the homages she does in these videos and previously too in Than You, Next, 34+35 etc.

I'm glad to see this too. I've purchased the single and I can't stop streaming it. I do hope it continues to grow. The friends that I've shared it with all loved it and all said it was "different" for her. Positive feedback so far. It's a fantastic song. Now if we can just get an album full of this.

I can definitely agree here. The lyrics in some songs gave me hope when I was going through stuff at a young age. And still do. MC's music has touched so many lives and will continue to do so. New fans and "Lambs" are born everyday. She's legendary.

What's the difference between the charts "Hot Dance/Electronic song" (Portrait Hopeful Child, as the only charter) and "Club Dance Songs" (Mariah has 17 #1, Triumphant being the most resent)? Thanks for anyone that can break it down for me.

Through The Rain remix (106,612) by Robert-Anthony from United States
No one ever talks about this remix. I love her tone on this remix. When I listen to it, I become so immersed with MC's beautiful tone and how Joe's and Kelly's vocals blend so beautiful with MC's vocals. I always wondered how a Maurice Joshua sped up remix would sound.

Just some Dolly Parton facts (106,611) by Edward from USA
I don't know much about Ms. Parton's music, except for "I Will Always Love You" and "9 to 5", but we can all agree she's the true definition of a Southern belle. She's classy, lovely, just the true epitome of an icon. She has never let her looks overshadow her talent; she proudly embraces her style, and even her iconic girls exude ginormous class.

I loved her in "Steel Magnolias", one of my favorit movies. The cemetery scene was epic.

Dolly is wonderful. Her song "9-5" is my office song lol. I love the lyrics of it. That she is spending a lot for social projects is something I like too. Plus her humour. A real legend, this lady.

Just some Dolly Parton facts (106,607) by Robert-Anthony from United States
Dolly will release album #50 on November 15th. Her last album was released on November 17, 2023. She began her career in 1955. This lady looks like she is 50 years old right now. Dolly does not slow down. Everyone loves Dolly Parton. This last fact really made me laugh. Her own label is called Butterfly Records. How funny is that?

Sex and drug trafficking is the context for pop culture (106,606) by Geronimo from USA
Sex and drug trafficking is the basic context for popular culture from the military-slave economy of the 17th century Atlantic world to the organized crime-dominated New York speakeasy scene of the early days of "jazz" to the days of hair bands and "gangsta" rap.

Mariah was swimming in sex trafficking and drugs against her will before Tommy, by choice with Tommy, and she was swimming in vice by choice after Tommy.

Meanwhile, ethically serious musicians have always and continue to create better choices and contexts to make a living in music. They have done this, in part, by receiving inherited wealth, by pursuing something more interesting that being a star in a sky erected by moral perverts, and/or by choosing creativity and dignity over being a multi-million dollar slave to colonizers and pimps.

The party animal, the pimp and ho routine, and the insecure, boy-crazy, naughty/innocent air-head tropes all need to go and our tastes must evolve.
