Listening to this sweet little ditty right now. Lovely song and totally Mariah-esque. Her background vocals are so soothing here, as always.

Great songs, all of them. But they forget Mariah's "Honey".

It's frustrating again to read such an article. In other news the press is saying that Mariah is an emotional wreck because of the Packer split and because of the divorce from Nick. That she didn't get over him. I know it's all private and only the three know what was really going on, but it hurts that most of the news is only about her diva behavior or private things. I miss the time where the press was talking about the musician and singer. Times are changing but I agree with most of you on this board, that Mariah needs a new team and some free time without the press. Please no burnout.

Anthony is not jealous that he is not Mariah's boy toy. Do you know that Anthony is bisexual and prefers men?

She's given lackluster performances in the past but she's more than redeemed herself with her Vegas residency, Sweet Sweet Fantasy world tour, and her stateside All The Hits tour with Lionel. Besides she's human and is entitled to having a bad day here and there.

Here we go again. The perfect example of a delusional fan. "The same fate as Katy's lattest album and singles." For your information, Katy Perry's new album debuted at #1 and had the highest sales for a female artist since Lady Gaga's "Joanne" (album) and the lead single "Chained To The Rhythm" reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I remember when Migrate charted on the Billboard Hot 100 at #92. Unfortunately I think that this was the reason that the record company didn't release it. "Oh it charted last week, but it is off the Hot 100 this week, so it lost its momentum." If they would've looked at it this way - it gained Hot 100 with no single release, no video, and no promotion - then they would've realized how much bigger it could be if they actually gave it the single treatment. I notice that the same thing happened with "Side Effects" and "I'm That Chick", which both also charted on various Billboard charts. I can almost guarantee that that was the record company's excuse for not releasing any of those as singles either. Sometimes the execs are clueless.

So what if it [is] just a once in a lifetime chance in all of their career? Are you trying to diminish this amazing achievement? You make it sound like they are going to be losers if this is the only hit they ever have. Sorry, but I'd rather be known as the person with the longest running #1 song in history even if I had no other hits after that. Some of you Mariah fans are really delusional and come up with the most unbelievable excuses and put downs for other artists.

Literally I just called them "Stella's kids", if that's considered an insult then I don't know. If you are referring to "crusty selves" I'm talking about Stella's extended family who follow Mariah around the world.

The only thing he said that I agree with is that her team isn't helping. I pray that seeing how smoothly Lionel's team functions has shown her how incompetent her "team" is. I use the word team lightly because let's face it Stella isn't Mariah's manager she's her handler. She's a leech.

Agreed. Mariah isn't a dancer. People go to a Mariah concert to see (hear) her sing. Besides everyone, Mariah included, knows she can't dance. He's just jealous that he's not Mariah's boy toy.

Mariah should write a song with Carlos Santana for her new album. They know each other, they even appeared in a Macy advertisement together. An epic ballad like My All or a summery uptempo like The Game Of Love.

I totally agree with you. His remarks were so unnecessary, it makes him come as bitter. Honestly I thought the dancing in Mariah's last tour were quite old school and not particularly fresh or modern as he says. Mariah doesn't need all that. I believe the All The Hits tour is perfect in terms of dancing. They just come on stage for a few numbers and that's it. Let Mariah's voice shine. It mustn't be easy to sing the same "old" songs night after night. I don't think Mariah is bored to perform those songs for us, she's just bored and growing impatient to be accclaimed for what's ahead and not behind. Mariah is an artist in the true sense of the word.

Did you notice how Stella and her kids are in LA and not on tour with Mariah? I think they only attended the LA shows. I was surprised. This hasn't happened in a while. Firs time they left Mariah alone in 2 and half years was during that trip she took with Tanya and the kids right before the tour, then they got back together in Vegas and right after that the Lionel tour started and now they are no longer touring with her but basing their crusty selves down in LA.

Despacito / Felices los 4 (77,803)
by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

With Despacito, Luis Fonsi & Co. were able to capture lightning in a bottle. Not to discredit the song, it sure has its merits, but it's one of those rare unlikely hits that went far resulting from a confluence of luck, hype, and star power - so much so that the material itself became secondary (see Blurred Lines). Chances are this will end up as a once-in-a-lifetime achievement for most of those involved (possibly with the exception of Bieber) and that probably none of the artists involved will ever be able to top such achievement for the remaining stretch of their career. Thanks to this song, though, Latin music has been given a lease of life after being dormant since the early 2000s. Reggaeton is in now. If this is the song to break Mariah's record, then it is what it is. But if it were up to me, I'd honestly rather have Maluma's Felices los 4 (currently the #2 Latin song) at #1 for it being a more interesting, melodic, engaging listening experience.

I enjoy the song, the Bieber version but in no way do I think it deserves to be at #1 for so long. This is its 13th week, 2 more weeks at it breaks Mariah's record of holding the #1 and #2 position of the longest running #1 single, Another additional 2 weeks and OSD's record will be broken. I still hope some miracle happens, read on UK Mix that another song just went viral so it might go to #1.

Ikr. I still remember, when I played the song at a school function, when E=MC2 came out and everybody that showed up in my highschool was dancing and asking me to put Migrate on repeat. I'm almost positive the song would have been in the Hot 100 top 5, if not a #1 hit.

The Mariah Carey way (77,799)
by Nikki from usa
| |
|

Over the years, Mariah's done things her own way. She actually did some very nice things on the Butterfly tour. She had an actual boxing match for Rainbow. Her circus theme for Charmbracelet with her own little moves worked seamlessly together. In between sets Mariah had a dj play songs like it was a huge club for the Adventures tour. The Imperfect Angel tour saw her singing a song on a swing of lace in the air. She's always had her own way of doing things to make a show entertaining without dancing or much of it. Celine has acrobats and practically a theme park around her at Vegas, since she, too, is a vocalist. She'd do better with something more creative oriented and original like she's done in the past, only something new. But, I think she's burnt out on performing old hits. Dancers love to perform and entertainers get a high out of performing before crowds. But, MC's juice has always come from being a songwriter and producer creating new music. A creator artist needs to create. Listening to the radio is depressing these days. We could use a good Mariah tune with a 24 hour deal.

Here I was hoping for something insightful. Instead, it's just big headed Anthony stroking himself. Other than performing lifts I didn't see any improvement from Mariah last year than her usual dance routines. She showed more passion for her Honey dance when it first came out and on the Butterfly tour. She had some choice moments in the 2000's too. This was actually something I thought might eventually happen. *burnout* Mariah's been going non stop. Last year doing a residency, a world tour, her tv show, a Mac line, and her annual Christmas concerts is a lot. She didn't slow down. It didn't show until this year she also threw in 2 movie cameos at some point too. Mariah isn't a performer yet she's performing more in the past 2 years than she ever did in the 90's. Mariah's a natural artist and she's not doing her craft which energizes her. A natural performer lights up onstage, but MC isn't that kind of artist. This is burning her out, her heart isn't in it. It shows. She doesn't need a great choreographer to keep her doing things she doesn't care about. She needs to quit performing old hits on the road and get back to making new music like the artist she is.
