Article: Mariah Carey's sister Alison begs for a reconciliation (71,398)
by RibbonB from USA

Well bless her heart. This is a never ending story. I do wish they could find some peace and move on with their lives. I doubt A. could be a "proper" aunt to Mariah's often traveling children. I wonder if M. will reflect on her family on MW?

I was watching the official DVD and who did I see there in the behind-the-scenes special? Mr. Tanaka. Lol. Mark Sudack was also there. Musically I must say Mariah sounded way better on the Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour. I wish they would release another tour of MC. The Charmbracelet tour would be awesome. She sounded great and the show was really good. I always watch the clips on YouTube to remember this wonderful concert.

Hopefully she is sincere about a reconciliation and this is not about financial gain. Or she does not allow Morgan to come in and plant seeds in her head because Mariah herself definitely needs her actual family right now with everything that is going on in Mariah's world. Honestly both MC and Allison need some time to get back and make things better for the sake of their family.

I understand what you're saying, but the thing is, we're fans and don't know Mariah personally so there's no way to be discrete about expressing these concerns. If I knew Mariah personally I would gladly tell her to her face, but that isn't an option. And now (allegedly) Stella has Mariah's phone, so even if I had her number I could forget it. This is a place where fans can come to celebrate successes and share concerns. It's not our job to censor ourselves out of fear that some Demi Lovato or JLo fan might be reading these messages. Plus, the behavior of our fanbase is typically ignored by the media compared to the Beyhive, Beliebers, One Direction fans (whatever they're called), etc. I've never heard of one story blowing up and leading Mariah to worldwide humiliation that can be traced back to a few lambs giving constructive criticism online. The general public usually judges Mariah by her performances, not by what her fans are saying. Have you noticed that our fanbase is never able to even get a hashtag trending on Twitter no matter how hard we try? No one checks for us unless Mariah has a vocal/performance disaster like NYE. If people don't even care enough about our opinions to let a hashtag trend, then no matter how negative something is on here, it probably won't get far beyond this board.

It's the same dress and the same event. It seems that James must have not stayed at the event the entire length of it. This is just another reason why I couldn't and still can't take that relationship seriously. Their being together always seemed to be hi and bye and make sure we're seen by the paps. The conversation they were having on the show were the weird mindless murmurings of two people who hardly knew one another so they just tried to act cutesy. Mariah has Roc and Roe, Shawn, Josefin, her mother, and I still consider Jasmine and Rachel her friends so she has family and friends. Many people don't even have that. They just can't follow her around all the time because they have lives of their own. Mariah should start looking at the glass as half full instead of half empty because in the grand scheme of things her life is not perfect but it's still pretty amazing.

I addressed you respectfully and obviously you seem to be hot under the collar for no reason other than a difference of an opinion. I have noticed all of your posts come off very hostile and angry. Every post is about something negative. I am not asking you to read my post or respond to my post, you made a choice to just as I make choices to read and respond to others posts here whether I agree or not. From this point further as long as we both come to this message board we shall not address one another or each other posts. On a side note, life has a lot more layers to it, opposed to coming to a message board spitting venom and anger every day over someone's life neither one of us can change. With that there said God bless and peace to you.

That's good news. I've wanted a Dj Khaled collaboration for a while now, ever since I heard the track he did with Mary J. Blige and Fabolous. He's a hot producer.

They actually have a very good idea about who they are managing, because they know that leeching on to someone like Mariah would give them access to a lot of things that they would otherwise not be able to get. So yes they know they have a gold mine on their hands, the only thing is they don't really care about working to get her signed to things of her status and things that would strengthen her brand and instead they are doing things that they hope will ultimately get them fame. Stella clearly wants to be (and fails) the next Kris Jenner. If Mariah really wanted to go down that route, she might as well have just hired Kris because Kris knows how to get work done. Stella is just a big mouth who just talks but ultimately does nothing. I was appalled by the way Mishka kept talking back to Mariah and Mariah allowing that. She wasn't even letting Mariah finish and kept going on and on about how there's nothing wrong with what she did. Like girl 12 or not, you are an "employee" and that's not how you talk to your boss and go through your boss's lingerie and then sling your boss's underwear at her. The more we see of this family, the more unlikable they turn out to be. Also it's sad to see it come down to Mariah just accepting things because people said "her ass looked great" or because "her ass picture went viral".

I get your point about the spinach. It's just that personally I would want my friends to be discretely, not shout it across the room or post it on my Facebook wall, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or a messageboard. Send me a private message on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat whatever. Call me if you like or take me aside and say so. I will admit, not everyone I know personally will get this. I once took a picture with two people for example at their workspace. With their permission I posted it to my Facebook and tagged them. Then the wife of a coworker posted under it: "You should date the one of the left, that one is cute." They never wanted to meet up with me again. If Marissa is also your brand, let's say you have an icecream truck, and I don't like your new chocolate flavor I would not say something about it where your new and future supplier(s) and customers could see, everytime you post a picture on the next corner you stand on. You are trying to run a business and I support you.

My use of the word ass once, used in the context of saying grown ass people, was disrespectful to you? Yeah right. Disrespect was you trying to tell others what we should and shouldn't speak on. That wasn't an opinion, you can keep your patronizing replies to yourself, and never address me as young lady again. I don't care what you think does or does not benefit me and you can best believe that I don't have time to be upset at someone I don't know. I'm so thankful for the ability to scroll past posts I don't want to read, so I can continue to ignore yours after this. Peace.

Re: MW Ep 6 - Hero (71,380) (71,384)
by Billy from Greece

Strangely enough, the performance of "Hero" that they showed was not from the concert in Paris, but from an earlier date in the UK, judging from the hair. Also, it would make more sense to show the actual tribute to Prince, that is, "One Sweet Day", since including "Hero" made it seem as if that was the song dedicated to him, but anyway, she looked and sounded great at least. Finally, I can't stress enough how utterly disgusting was the way that twelve year old was talking to Mariah and the fully unlikable character that she exuded, and I don't care at all if she is twelve or whatever. Similarly vomiting was the mother's insistence when talking to Anthony that they know what they are doing. I think that the guys from the Mariah Report on Facebook put it best when they said that clearly that woman (and her offspring, obviously) has no idea who she is actually managing and what that person's image actually consists of. On a more positive note, I am happy that the professional footage that they show from the concert has mostly her live vocals, which sound excellent, just as I witnessed them on the tour.

Mariah is in the studio with Travis Scott and DJ Khaled, possibly working on a new song. This may also be the remix for the song L.A. is rushing to release, so we'll have to wait and see.

Haha, thanks for posting this. Exactly my thoughts. The person writing it is hilarious. I can't deal with the crap they have put on MW. Do they have recaps from all the episodes? I'll check those out (as if living through the actual episodes weren't torture enough). But these are hilarious so I'll have to check the previous ones.

MW Ep 6 - Hero (71,380)
by Todd from Melbourne, Australia
| |
|
|
Does anyone else think that this episode was re-edited in the last couple weeks to ensure a lengthy clip of her singing Hero in Paris? The first few episodes haven't shown her actually being a musician at all, give or take a few tiny interludes. She has a major, international faux pas, and then all of a sudden she's singing Hero, and her greatest hits album skyrockets up the charts. Not complaining at all, I think her singing should make up 75% of the show. Just an observation.

My main issue is a lack of effort and the trying to have your cake and eat it too mentality. If Mariah's voice is irreparably damaged then I can accept that, but what I can't accept is taking on gigs constantly and not preparing or even trying. From all of the reviews people leave here of MW she's seen with a glass in hand every episode, which we all know impairs the voice. I don't expect perfection, I just want to see effort and if she's over the days of painstakingly preparing for performances then she has that right, but just admit that you're over it and stop coming out and doing bad/half-assed performances just for money. It's better to retire than to keep doing things that are ruining your reputation. If she wants to keep performing forever then she should at least make sure she sounds good or just stop. Also, there's no such thing as Mariah giving a private performance for only wedding guests. People have cameras and moments like these easily go viral. I may come across as harsh because when I watch Mariah's performances, I don't give her "I'm a fan so I'm gonna let it slide" bonus points by default. I listen to the performance as if I have no allegiance to her because to me that is the only way you can determine whether a performance is actually good or not. It's like people who would go on American Idol convinced that they can sing because their mom always told them they sounded great, and then they get ripped to shreds by the panel. She's your mom, of course she's going to make you think that you're the best thing since sliced bread, but if you want to know the truth, you have to ask the real world because everyone isn't going to give you the benefit of the doubt as much as someone close to you is. It's the same thing with fans. These comments aren't about getting pleasure out of kicking Mariah while she's down, they are cries for help for her to give a shit about her career again. Trust me, I'd much rather be here bragging about how she slayed an Oscar or Grammy performance, but I don't feel like we're being given anything to brag about. I'm not going to force myself to adapt to f***ery when I know a person is capable of infinitely better. If I went from being in the gym daily to gaining 200 pounds, I would hope that someone who claimed to love me would pull me to the side and put me in check if they know I'm capable of much better, not just shut up and let me die of a heart attack for the sake of being "nice" and "positive". The most positive results I've ever gotten in life have been a result of negative (caps) feedback. The key is not internalizing it and seeing that people are criticizing a specific, fixable behavior and not you as a person. Reminds me of what I call the "spinach debate". Are you the type who'd rather walk around all day having a huge piece of spinach in your teeth and embarrassing yourself than to have one friend discretely tell you that you have something in your teeth? Would you be so mad that someone had the "audacity" to confront you about something that you miss the point that they are trying to save you humiliation from others who will be ruthless with you? That is the vibe that a lot of "positive" fans give me. "I'd rather look a fool to the world than have a few people call me out even if they're trying to save me from a future disaster."

by this_is_qhm from the Philippines

Part of the appeal of this song to me other than the genius production is that the vocals in it sound the most raw among all the songs I've heard recorded for TEOM. Sure, the lack of studio polish might just be a result of it being pulled out of the final tracklist, but isn't this how Mariah should sound on her final recordings? The studio magic has progressively been turned up to overkill with each album in an attempt to mask her weaknesses, but this pursuit of perfection is a double-edged sword. Casual listeners would definitely appreciate it, but to us fans, listening to these overproduced pieces is like tasting artificially flavored drinks - we kinda like them, but there will always be this suspicious fake aftertaste. We just know she won't be able to pull off this flawless execution and vocal acrobatics live. And in a post-NYE 2016 performance world, it's not just us fans who know this anymore. Mariah feels the pressure to live up to the high standards she set for herself because it's what people know her for, but other singers such as Whitney Houston ('98-'09) and Lisa Stansfield ('99 onwards) have made albums that perfectly fit their current vocal abilities and they did fine. Will Mariah ever get the memo?

I would express the same sentiments as well, but ultimately choose not to as we know that outside of this board, it's the women who are judged in the same way, even worse. It's unfair to Tanaka and Cannon, but hey they're the easiest punching bags in a Mariah-centric board. The mere thought of it is just mean and twisted - viewing what's happening here as the universe's way of somehow balancing out the severity of (the opposite) that happens outside. It's not right, but that's just how it is.
