Article: Barbra Streisand duet with Mariah Carey is coming (108,649) by Nicole from US
Wow. The album is produced by Walter. I wonder if there was even communication between him and Mariah. But for me this might be something positive to look forward to.

I’m very curious to hear this collaboration. I hope that MC gives us a clean full voice vocal performance (ala We Belong Together). No pasted together vocals or unnecessary whistles. Just sing MC.

But Daydream was a pop album with just a grain of R&B on two tracks. Tommy had a lot at stake, Mariah's win would've been his too.

The first time I read this article, I felt a surge of excitement and wonder. I'm looking forward to new music, even though she's only a guest artist. However, I can't help but wonder why it has to be with AG. Don't get me wrong, I love AG, but they have already collaborated before. I would have preferred a collaboration between BS and MC. It seems to be a strategic decision, in my opinion. They included AG to broaden the song's appeal to her fans and generation. Nevertheless, I'm choosing to focus on my excitement for this collaboration. A new song is on the way.

Wow, at 83 Barbra still sounds great. This is how I envisioned Mariah would sound in her later years.

I am pretty excited to hear this collaboration. The song title is intriguing. As far as the R&R Hall of Fame fiasco goes, I'm not in the least bit concerned or upset that Mariah was not inducted this time because it will happen when it's meant to. She definitely deserves that and much more. All in time. I love you MC and always will.

I believe that is the reason why MC felt she couldn't work with Walter A. anymore after Butterfly.

I can't help but wonder if Tommy played a role in getting MC shutout at the Grammys. She was pushing further into R&B, something TM despised. Daydream was a commercial success but maybe Tommy orchestrated the shutout at such a high profile event to "shut up" Mariah and push her back to pop/adult contemporary.

One Heart, One Voice (108,640) by Bobby A from United States
I am praying it leads to a Walter A. and MC collaboration. I truly believe they have forgiven each other and have moved on. It would be the 360 circle needed for MC's career. Walter A. knows MC's voice and how to make her shine on a song. We can't deny that about him. Baby from Dreamville, what are your thoughts about the new collaboration and Walter A. producing it. The title, One Heart One Voice reminds me of the letter you penned to MC some months ago.

Interesting to see that Walter A. produced this album for Babs. Perhaps very interesting. We will see.

I still don't understand how the Daydream Grammy debacle was happening? Tommy was still behind her at the peak of the success, was it simply the envy? Céline also married a powerful man from the music business. I always think Mariah was too perfect for some people. The look (a beauty like a supermodel), her magical aura, her earned wealth, the Mariah mania around the globe during that time, chart breaking records and last but not least of course the best, most unique voice ever. The "Cinderella story" from the press must have caused envy without end.

Me too. Back in the days when Daydream got like a million nominations at the Grammys, we have to wonder what force was stopping her from winning.

Aretha, yes. Whitney, no. I can't be that bombastic, but WH lost a lot of respect during the years. If it was the diva/trash attitude or the drugs, I don't know.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (108,633) by Terna from Nigeria
Mariah Carey is actually still very current and still for the most part, a current star still breaking records and creating new ones. Yes her name does at its mention, remind people of the staggering success she's had and a long fruitful career too. However I do agree and see it from their perspective, and I also notice the Hall of Fame is kinda a retirement home for old stars or groups that have made their mark and to say it nicely, burnt out or even worse, no longer with us. Mariah still has at least one more big era in her; that woman is not quite done yet and they know this. She'll have her moment for sure, just not now.

I disagree. Being a diva worked for Whitney and Aretha.

I have never thought MC's diva persona could be the reason, but it could be. I would love to know what is being said in some these board rooms where the nominees were discussed and chosen.

National Poetry Month (108,630) by Randy from USA
You know now that the month is coming to an end. And MC being delayed in the [Rock and Roll Hall of Fame], I just realized she has never done a book of poetry. I'm so random. Jewel has. Tupac has. And both of their books are on my shelf. But the woman who wrote that haunting lyric to My All and the saddest song about hope (Right to Dream) in her down time could totally write a book of poems. It may bring her down to earth since everybody thinks they can write them anyway so it's relatable. It would force her to give up the diva showgirl act when she promotes it. But yeah, Languishing. That should be the title. I feel better already.

Mariah has longevity. She still has a career and pretty much owns Christmas. She can still produce and make more albums because she still has a huge fan base compared to the washed up inductees. I mean I spend so much just to get all her merch and vinyl albums. And she still does her world tours and non stop Vegas and Christmas concerts. She will be fine.

That was a really good article. I also believe that Randy is correct about all the diva act keep her and rest of the world separate. People doesn't take her serious. Another perspective is that her voice was so good, that I guess people did think of her as a product, made by the record company.

Mariah will have her moment. Many great artists wait years for induction. Perhaps when the debut is certified Diamond, AIWFC goes triple Diamond... who knows. Rolling Stone hits the right note on this subject.

Snubbed again (108,625) by Bobby A from United States
I think that I have figured out why MC's contribution to the music industry is slighted and so marginalized. When MC came onto the music scene, she came right at the height of Whitney's success. In fact, her arrival on the music stage was much bigger than Whitney's arrival. MC wasn't suppose to be bigger and sell more records than Whitney. It is like she is being punished for writing her songs, having her own singing style, and resonating so much with her fans and the pop music world more than Whitney did. I typed the following in as a Google search. "Is Mariah Carey's no Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominee marginalized?" The AI answer that came back was shocking, but so true as to why MC was snubbed a second time.
