Re-entering the charts? (62,176) by Haiji Toro from USA, SOUTH FLORIDA
I'm curious about this. I tried researching it, but nothing comes up. Has anyone in music history ever released a single, wether it was a hit or not, and re-entering years later to make it to #1? I've heard of artists re-entering the charts but never reaching top spot. Does anyone know anything about this topic?

I don't get it. You call yourself "biggest MC fan" but you have never ever anything nice to say about Mariah. What are you doing here?

The downvote feature is very unnecessary. It won't stop people from voicing their opinions if that's what you are worried about.

You people coming for Bey, Riri and other singers (62,173) by BIGGEST MC FAN from UNITED STATES
Are very bitter. Beyonce and Rihanna are hardworking and smart women who are deserve all of the success they get. Beyonce is already a legend. She is one of the best singers today and is arguably the greatest entertainer alive. She has always been on the top of her game since she came out in the late 90s and that deserves mad props. [censored] She gives people something fresh each time and she is getting acclaim because of it. I know Beyonce will keep serving us good music for a long time which is why she will be remembered as one of the greats alongside Whitney, MJ, Madonna. As for Rihanna, she may not be very talented but she is a smart businesswoman and she desires to be great. That is why she will surpass Mariah for the most #1s. She serves her fans smash hits every era. She has a very impressive catalog of hits and most of her #1 hits will be remembered forever. [censored] [censored] [censored] [censorded] You can't blame the GP for [censored] listening to Beyonce and Rihanna instead. [censored] Leave these hardworking women alone. Don't diss them just because [censored].

I agree with Marissa. There was a reason Eric took it down. And a lot of people were asking him to take it down too. People were abusing the button. If someone doesn't agree with the other person, either express yourself, or hold on to your silence. That button is useless.

When that feature was on the website I remember someone posted "I love Mariah Carey" or something nice and innocent along those lines and it got a ridiculous amount of thumbs down. I think if someone feels strongly against a post then they need to get the courage to speak up and contribute to the conversation rather than being a troll and thumbing things down from 5 different computers and phones. I feel that it's a lazy way to disagree and glad it's gone.

I agree with a lot on your list. I feel like listening to those particular songs now. I want to make a list too but I'm being too lazy to go look at the tracklists on all of them and think about it. I'm obsessed with Fourth Of July and Lead The Way and Long Ago is a standout album track, I love her vocals on it and it seems to me a unique song in her catalogue.

Re: Cause and effect (62,156) (62,164) by Haiji Toro from USA, SOUTH FLORIDA
Thank you Jeff for the reply. I'm happy you enjoyed my post. It came from the heart. I agree, I'd never count her out. I'd love for achievements to continue, more #1 hits, breaking more records and more great music. I'm so ready for new music. As expected, but completely understood, some people will only think of her as whatever they see her portraying herself as. I think it's a shame but it's the reality. Those that actually take time out and research her story in depth, would have a better understanding of her personality. That goes with any celebrity, any human, at that. Those that know her story may perceive her as that one close friend that you love so much, but can get annoying at times. Simply call it a night because she's too much right now, but tomorrow is a new day, back to calling her to hang out. As to those that would only catch a quick tv/YouTube interview, that "dah'lin I'm famished" line alone, would be enough to label her as this over the top, flown over the cookoo's nest, personality disordered diva. I've heard people say "I like her music, I just can't stand her." I'm thinking, wow you know her? At least they love her music. I'm sure when she goes into making her albums, her main purpose is for the music. That's all that should matter. When we go out to buy a product, we're paying for whatever that product can provide us with. I'm not really buying it because I enjoy Mr. Walmart's personality. He just has some good s***. At a low price lol.

Haha oh lord Travon, thanks for turning a festive Christmas song and possibly one of the most festive songs in the world into a horror movie soundtrack. I just can't. I was envisioning the scene.

Dear gracious webmaster, would it be remotely possible to supply a thumbs down or dislike button? It would be much appreciated. At times I feel that a comment really calls for one. I know I can not be the only one who would make good use of this feature.

Haha. I smell smooth hit moments. I imagine an island with everything to build a house and animals to kill for food. Imagine singing AIWFCIY while creepingly trying to catch your prey. Imagine the ugly hands of a Disney witch getting closer and closer to their wanted prey but it's you with the hands singing AIWFCIY to the poor animal. Gotta love it. Haha.

Mara, thank you for your reply, I appreciate that you took the time out to read my post. (Thank you to everyone that read it as well.) I definitely get what you mean by a certain song or lyric that takes you back into time. It's amazing how most of could probably write our own life stories simply linking music to it. I did follow her music from the beginning. I remember being 8 years old when I heard Vision Of Love on the radio. It was immediately about the voice that I fell in love. By this time, my mother had already introduced music to me in many forms and genres, but never heard anything like her. I was that kid that would rather stay in to listen to music than go out to play. I was the strange one in the family lol it was odd to them that a kid around that age would always talk about music so passionately, discussing the greats of that time. Still the greats of this time. It wasn't until 1997's Butterfly, specifically the song Outside, that touched my soul like no other song ever did. I only knew about Mariah Carey the singer up until then. I would look for books or magazine articles that discussed her life story. I couldn't believe that this woman, this stranger to me, someone I only knew through a radio or TV screen, somehow understood how I felt growing up. It was like she spoke to me through her songs. But anyways, I can go on and on about it lol.

I find him so painful to watch. Mariah manages to make more coherent sentences that actually make sense compared to him on The Voice. Don't get me started on his nonsense metaphors/comparisons and whatnot. If she and him were both on the show, they'd have to extend the time slot lol.

Some of you guys really need to get a life. Get out of being a fan of MC when you still can. If it doesn't bring you anything anymore please find an other artist to adore. It's just that simple.

Re: Cause and effect (62,156) by Jeff from USA
First off, dahling, thank you for your post. It was insightful, well-written, and shows that you are a passionate fan. I was really impressed with your train of thought and agree with much of what you said. I particularly liked that you referenced Mariah's humility, something that I hope people see. I wonder sometimes if the playful, eternally-12-year-old diva persona is all that the general public sees. I hope not, as she has so much more depth than that. I'm so glad that MC is in a place in her life that she doesn't "need" another hit and can make the music that makes her happy, but I would never count her out. She has shown time and time again that she has the ear for music and knows what she is doing. Thanks for your post.

Re: I find it funny (62,133) (62,154) by BIGGEST MC FAN from UNITED STATES
Giovanni, that's one of the points I went over. Beyonce did not try to sing songs that weren't made for her voice. That's one of the reasons why her voice got stronger. Unlike Mariah who insisted on ruining her voice by taking it places that were not healthy for it to reach.

Re: Mariah Carey upcoming TV appearances (62,147) (62,152) by Travon..SweetSweetFantasy from USA
Hey Mimi L. I agree, a new song would be music to my ears. However, our Mariah is famous for more than her talents. Her surprises can be "so" not a surprise. I would love for an Ellen appearance and I hope she does a vocal stint on Jimmy Fallon, like AIWFCIY in 2012.

Re: The voice again (62,149) (62,151) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Hi everybody, I'm new on this board. Although I was reading the news and messages for many months. Gee I think your comment is so true. I love the "old Mariah" but no one stays the same and I do love the "new". Every cd from the beginning until now has magic and soul in it. At the moment I listen to E=MC2 and Memoirs and it's so much fun. Sometimes it's hard to believe how genius she really is, her songwriting means everything to me. And it makes me sad, that some people don't see it because of some sort of an image. But I think at some point, I don't care because real music lovers know there's only one Mariah. So peace.
