Good points. I wasn't buying that statement either. I think they were just buttering up The Beatles' fans so their weaves slide off easier when she comes for them. Haha.

Kiss it better (60,069)

I actually took the time and listened to this [censored] song everyone seems to be so crazy about. And I just can't understand why. It's a total snooze fest. Mariah needs to come and slay this umbrella girl.

Age (60,068)
by Giovanni from USA

Mariah is only 45 and still looks amazing. She can definitely make another comeback and continue scoring number ones. Look at the garbage that's topping Billboard. You tell me the artist will the most number ones cannot get more. "We belong together" and "Don't forget about us" are massive hits. She's bound to break The Beatles record some day if she chooses to. It's all up to her really. But I know deep down she does. She surpassed Elvis and she'll surpass The Beatles. I was not buying the "we aren't trying to go near them" line on Jimmy Kimmel. You ain't fooling nobody Mimi. You know you want to and you will.

I think simply "The Elusive Chanteuse" would have sufficed. I just hope the next title is good and strong, as well as the cover. The album cover to "Infinity" is one of her worst. I loved all the ensembles you posted. Mariah does not look her age when she's in shape. And the make up she wore in 2013 was nice. I can't wait to see what's in store this year. Mariah is going to slay.

Work is already #1 on BB. I can't lie I do love Rihanna's new album, but ironically Kiss It Better is my least favorite song on it. I've heard many cite it as a highlight and I just don't get why. *shrugs* Consideration, Work, Desperado, Yeah I Said It, Needed Me, Love On The Brain, and Sex With Me have been in heavy rotation since the album dropped. Okay I'm sorry lambily back to the queen of music Ms Mariah Carey Mottola Cannon Packer (just for laughs don't come for me). I can't wait for her snatch wigs and reclaim her thrown with her new music. The voice is in powerful, confident, and even cocky shape, so I don't think she's coming to play, she's coming to slay.

Watch top ten performances and Kelly Clarkson (60,064)
by Tevin from USA
| |
|

I think everybody should watch the last episode that just aired on American Idol. Kelly Clarkson gave good advice, mentioned Mariah Carey, and she talked about how she was gonna get booded because she didn't like Justin Bieber's song and Shawn Mendez, she talked about having longevity and other contestants mentioned Mariah Carey also. Just goes to show. Even with a show that treated Mariah wrong, her name will still be heard.

Have you all heard the girls' newest bop Work From Home? It's so fun and the video is hot. Brings out the slutty teenage girl out of me lol. I hope they score their first #1 with this.

Kiss It Better could very well be RiRi's next #1. I really like the song, it's young, groovy, melodic, and sexy. If she promotes it right with a hot video and performances, there's no stopping her 15th #1.

I like Kiss It Better. It's probably the best song on the album. It sounds like a song that belongs on TLC's CrazySexyCool album. She has several songs on the album that can go number (Love On The Brain and Close To You). The only downfall to the album is it has no uptempos. All mid and like one ballad. You should listen to it. She could have like four #1s from this album.

That's true that she's more well known. I do think that she'd be able to connect with a younger audience again though because she's done it before like you said with TEOM. Older artists have made hits like Madonna but when Mariah makes a good hit they become timeless. I've also always found her music never sounds to "try hard" like she really really wants to connect with a younger audience, which seems to be a habit some artists fall into. However, she could slip into that habit if she's not careful. She can definitely pull it out of the bag again and there are people in the music industry who think so too, like when that survey was released about which artist the managers would support.

You make a fair point. The only thing I would say is that more people are aware of Mariah than Gwen and that she's been around since the 90s. At the same time there are many others from younger generations who think TEOM was her first album. So age isn't strictly an issue. I think #Beautiful was proof that radio and the public are ready to embrace her once again so long as she has a good song. I still think it would've been at least top 10 had she not made that ridiculous video. It's all up to her and whatever she decides to do with her career. If she could come out of the Glitter era and give us an album as powerful as TEOM, she can definitely come back again.

Rumor has it that RiRi is putting out "Kiss it better" as her next single and I have already heard a lot of people say that it is a great song (I didn't hear it) and everyone was like why didn't she release this instead of "Work"? Is there another #1 coming for RiRi then?

That and why Mariah was never on the cover of Vogue (Paris and US) and Harper's Bazaar will always be a mystery to me. Even in 2005 when everyone was trying to get a piece of Mariah.

Haha MIAM title was a mouthful. I think it would have been better if she released a 2 part album and named one of it "Me. I Am Mariah" and part 2 would be "The Elusive Chanteuse". I loved TAOLG as a title. Sounds more matured and fits the theme of the album better. MIAM didn't really fit the album because the album didn't really define her, it was more about the place she was in emotionally at that time (heartbroken and trying to move on from it) so TAOLG was perfect (I wish she didn't have a meltdown over the name leak). Her previous albums usually had a meaning. To name some, "Butterfly" was about her finally being free, "Rainbow" was named after she saw 2 rainbows together and also because she said she used different textures in the songs. "Charmbracelet" was named because of the bracelet she wore (which either belonged to her grandmother or was a replica of it, I forgot which). TEOM was her coming into her own and taking control of her life (a Butterfly part 2 if you will, but this time fierce) and so on. So yes, I can't wait to hear what she has in mind now.

I absolutely loved both the ensembles she wore in the finale. The one she wore on stage is just gorgeous. It's one of my favorite stage ensembles of Mariah. She looks like a vision of perfection and so angelic. Every bit of the superstar diva that she is. This along with this white outfit she wore in the same year, but not in AI (it was the BET Awards), are both so beautiful, I can't even deal with it. The black outfit she wore to the finale. is also divine. I love how she looks so confident and is like moving around showing off her body. This dress makes her look more edgy and sexy (compared to the innocent angelic performance dress). I don't get why even after having the same stylist now, she fails at delivering the fashionista moments she was delivering in 2013. I think one reason for that can be that since she was on TV weekly at that time, designers would send her clothes to get exposure. I don't know. Anyways this is another look I really love on her, I couldn't find a full sized picture. If you do, link me up.

Hi everyone. So the song from La Fouine "Sans ta voix" meaning "Without your voice" tells the story of his mum and his success. He compares himself to someone who is fighting to achieve in music and her mum's achievement. The phrases were MC is mentioned he is singing this. I still feel as a Greek in my stuning car. I am not a new rich, I was a old poor guy. Everybody knows my name, I ve gained weight as Mariah Carey. I turned in circles so many times, and now I am going to touch my dreams with a single touch from my finger's tip.

Yes totally a mash up of WBT and Honey. And you can add a bit of "Say something" with the Paris shoots. Good point, why didnt Mariah got to represent a major fashion house/brand?

Mariah's next album title (60,048)
by Giovanni from USA
| |
|
|
Is anyone else curious about what will Mariah name her next album? I'm hoping for something strong and decent. "Me I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse" was way too much and over the top. "The Emancipation Of Mimi" and "The Art Of Letting Go" were very good titles. I'm thinking she'll name it something based off where she is now in her life. Happy again ready for another comeback. I honestly believe she has at least two hit songs already recorded. t's just a matter of time.

I was curious if by any chance you liked the ensemble Mariah wore at the "American Idol" finale in 2013? I watched it recently and it's one of my favorite looks on her. Maybe a bit too much for some but I loved it. This ensemble along with the golden dress in Vegas are my two favorite ensembles Mariah has worned so far.

Age (60,046)
by Luke from United Kingdom
| |
|

I was thinking today how age might not be that big of an issue when it comes to sales of a song. When people aren't that interested in a singer like their fans the age of that singer becomes irrelevant, especially if they look good. What got me thinking this was Gwen Stefani's new song/video and how I honestly thought she was in her early/mid 30's but I only found out she was in her mid 40's because I looked at the comments and there were others that didn't realise too. I think age comes into play more in the background with the radios/music companies and how much attention a record label will give an artist. I think Mariah can hit a lot of people and get more people loving her because she looks nowhere near 40. She just needs a killer song and an amazing video. I would say with plenty of stunts because people aren't going to watch her spilling champagne and applying lip gloss forever.
