Re: The return Of Bianca (61,333) (61,338) by Licia from USA
Yeah I'm not digging the makeup, but she looks great nonetheless. Work b*tch.

Yes. Preach Daydream327. This is exactly my opinion. I just find it weird that a grown intelligent woman like Mariah thinks this is fine.

One more (61,336) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok so she added one more. After staring at the two for a while, I am getting more and more bothered by the atrocious makeup. If this if Kris Buckle's job, he needs to get a heave ho for taking inspiration from Stella. But hey for all we know Stella did the makeup for Mariah since she is taking over all the other positions either ways. I am torn between being super excited and being super pissed how Bianca's return is accompanied by such hideous makeup. Even though Bianca was always evil, her makeup was never so heavy. Stella change this right now.

She's back (61,335) by Marissa from USA
Bianca is back everyone and prepared to take your man. It's about damn time. Also, I need MC to fire her makeup artist. The blush and contouring has been way too severe lately to the point where there has been heavy speculation that she's recently had work done. "Say it ain't so."

Re: Mary (61,334) by Ian from United Kingdom
Sarah, I couldn't agree more, I've been a fan of Mariah since 1990, a fan of Mary J Blige since 1992 and still love both. They are both to me artists who can touch you in different ways and both have had their ups and downs through their careers yet always when people think they are past it, pull it back and deliver the goods. Mariah will always be my number one but Mary is not too far behind. (Also I have major love for Patti LaBelle, Gladys Knight, Regina Belle, Puff Johnson (R.I.P), CeCe Winans. I could go on and on.)

The return Of Bianca (61,333) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Ok everybody, this is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill. Bianca is back. This was posted to Mariah's account. The makeup is kinda making Mariah look like Stella here, but I can't be bothered at the moment, because I have waited for so long for Bianca's return. Is this going to be a skit where the Bulochnikovs are dressed as Mariah and Mariah is dressed as Stella (oops I meant Bianca, sorry). No seriously I want to know. Is this a freaking new music video? Good Lord I need answers.

Bulochnikovs turning into a Carey? (61,332) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I was semi stalking (or is it full blown stalking?) Stella's account and she posted 2 new photos. this and this. As much as I am not a fan of the Bulochnikovs, I have to admit, little Mishka does look like a doll here, very beautiful girl, who will unfortunately get a lot of hate due to her mom's stage mom syndrome. I already saw her get dragged on Mariah's account the other day when she made a spelling error, writing "ware" instead of "wear". Which wasn't the only time she made an error (but back then people thought it was Stella), so all the more reasons to let the girl get her education first and then carry on with showbiz if that's what she wants. But anyways that's their business, but did Stella finally go a little easy on the contour? Or is it the lighting? I can't with Stella Kardashian-ing her bottom to weird proportions lol. Anyways so they seem to be dressed like Mariah, as the captions suggest. I wonder what tomfoolery this is going to lead to since she is hash-tagging "Mariah's world" in both the pictures so it might suggest that this will be a part of the show?

Re: Mary (61,326) (61,331) by Licia from USA
Sarah I agree. In the beginning Mariah's sound was never categorized as rnb/hip hop. It was pop/hip hop. Mary and Mariah have excelled at what they do best and both deserve to be credited for bringing something to the music game that had not been done. I don't care who did what first because they both are great at it. Both of them deserve props. I was waiting on someone to try to act like Mary hasnt contributed anything just because they don't care for her music.

Stella is not good at her job at all (61,330) by Daydream327 from USA
I haven't posted on here in awhile but I feel like this needed to be said. Mariah is a grown woman and will do whatever she wants and hire whoever she wants, this is just my opinion. I see a lot of lambs giving Stella entirely too much credit. Truth be told, Stella has did absolutely nothing for Mariah's career. Lambs need to open their eyes. If anything she is only slowly steering Mariah away from the most important thing... the music and fans. Mariah is more confident now because she has lost weight, she's always seemed happier when she has gotten smaller, that goes without saying. Vegas and the tour were already lined up before Stella even entered the picture, she had nothing to with making those things happen they were gonna happen with or without her. Now one thing I've noticed that lambs can agree on is that she has helped rebuild Mariah's public image. Okay, but how is she so-called "rebuilding Mariah's image"? By leaking photos and stories to TMZ? Yes, TMZ. Mariah's career has now resorted to such gimmick antics. These are the exact things that the talentless do to gain some attention. These are the exact things that Mariah was never about in the past. To be honest the blatant leaked billionaire boyfriend headlines and candids actually made me question if the relationship was even real. Don't get me wrong if Mariah is truly happy, I'm happy. But the TMZ stories were a bit much and out of character of Mariah. It was just very odd that all of sudden there was a new headline everyday on TMZ. Not for anything music related but for the new "billionaire" boo. It was obvious these stories were leaked, a non-fan could see that and all of it was honestly cringeworthy. And that's when I realized Stella had no idea as to what she was doing. The thing is people will always have something negative to say about Mariah or any celeb for that matter, so I don't see how Stella helped "rebuild" her public image. I don't believe that it was ever ruined. If anything by leaking these stories it just made the public question her parenting. I can't count how many times I read "Ehy is Mariah letting this man she just met around her kids?" What I can say is that whenever Mariah has a great performance or releases great music people only speak great things about her. It reminds everybody why they first fell in love with her. Talent will always win regardless, that's for sure. But it all makes sense to me. Stella is a reality tv executive, she has no experience in the music industry or managing an artist of Mariah's caliber. You see where I'm going here. This woman has no idea what she's doing. Mariah is a legend not a reality tv star, she isn't a newcomer, she already has a core fanbase. She doesn't have to do these things to gain relevancy. Stella has did nothing but alienate and confuse fans. If her goal is to reach the new generation, then she needs to find someone who understands the music industry today and help Mariah to become more viral and give her direction. If not then at least try not to tarnish the legacy she has. Stella has her 12 year old daughter running Mariah's social media? Now this concerns me. Social media has always been a way for Mariah to connect with her fans directly and now that is taken away. I just don't understand nor connect with the present Mariah. I'll always love her of course. I just don't know what's going on but I feel it's all gonna lead up to a disaster. The reality show series on E. sounds cheap and unlike anything Mariah would have ever agreed to do in the past. Why not an HBO or Showtime documentary? I remember reading about an HBO doc a couple year ago, what happened? E. is not worthy of Mariah Carey to be honest. But once again Stella does reality tv, so what did we expect? BTW these are just my thoughts on the situation they are not in any way influenced by what Eddie had to say about Stella. We don't know what motives Stella has nor do we know what motives her old team had. I'm simply commenting on Stella's job as Mariah's manager. Do I think she's using Mariah for her own career gain? Yes. but do we know this for sure? No. So I'll just keep those comments to myself. Yes, we all should be worried about Mariah's well-being but once again Mariah chose these people to be in her life. All we can do is hope her vision is not clouded and she can see who's truly genuine and who's not. We can't make her see these things she has to for herself.

Mary J Blidge (61,329) by Giovanni from USA
As a singer is nowhere near Mariah. Mary has always struggled live, sounds flat and usually always dodges certain notes. She's a studio singer with no technique. I hear no soul in her voice, and her tone is not pleasant. I sound like a hater but I'm not. I like Mary and a few of her songs. She had success and made a name for herself. But as a singer she falls short. Joss Stone has way more soul and is a way better singer. She sings circles around Mary.

Thanks Mimi L for sharing. It's so nice to see this. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining. Just nice to hear it this way again. Lost count of how many versions there are where she goes "Just hold on and hold on and hold on on on." Lol.

Re: Mary (61,324) (61,326) by Sarah from Netherlands
That makes zero sense, as soulful as Mariah's voice is, her music is not. It's R&B. So I don't really see why we're comparing Mariah and MJB, they have very different target demographics and very different sounds. It's possible to love one without delegitimizing the other's success or career. Or, and I know this might be a wild idea but you can actually be a fan of both without feeling the need to compare to find out who's better *gasp*. Realize how this never happens with male artists by the way? Oh.

I think so too. I agree about James too, I think she's most confident when she's in love and has that support. God knows how lonely her life must be, so having James there must make her feel secure.

Re: Mary (61,323) (61,324) by B from USA
I think Mariah's better than MJB. I only like a handful of MJB's songs. Mariah is the queen of R&B Hip-hop soul. She took Mary's crown when she released Butterfly. The collaborators that Billboard spoke with are mad that Mariah is still successful and they're not. Mariah has earned the industry's respect.

Mary (61,323) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Mary J Blige's image was built around being from the ghetto or hood. Puffy and Andre Harrell came up with this style of R&B song sung over hip hop beat thus the queen of hip hop soul was born. Mary herself once said when she first got signed the team at Uptown/MCA records had no idea what to do with her as an artist because at the time the building of grand pop diva was still very popular i.e. Whitney and Mariah. Mary also stated how Vision Of Love was a song that she and friends loved and tried to sing but knew they couldn't hit the notes Mariah hit in the song but they tried for fun anyway. So the respect between Mary and Mariah has been there even from afar.

Re: Mariah Carey's collaborators share untold... (61,320) (61,322) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
I feel like the reason why Mariah isn't as respected as her 90s peers, except maybe for Celine, is that most critics and the public don't look too kindly upon commercial success, as if it somehow takes away the artistic and critical merit of a song when it becomes a massive hit. She has always been regarded as a singer whose talent was one for the record books than the great American songbook. Her soulfulness has always been questioned. I used to fuss about this, but eventually I realized that at the end of the day, she's still had a phenomenal career, and that in reality, only a small portion of the music-loving public would actually give a damn about critical success. The rest of them just care about what sounds good - and Mariah's output, at the very least, sounds great (caps) 95% of the time.

She finally did the original version of it. She's now belting like effortless in many of her performances. She's really getting there.

Re: Mariah Carey's collaborators share untold... (61,317) (61,320) by Musti from UK
It was a very interesting read indeed. I was saddened towards the end when Mariah apparently said she yearns for the type of respect that Mary J gets. Fantasy ODB remix was groundbreaking but, as even Mariah has been saying in interviews lately, she wasn't the first one. Mary's 411 album (especially the remix album) is full of such collabs. What was special about Mariah doing it was her mainstream appeal and her pop singer status. I have no doubt Mary deeply inspired Mariah in the 90s (not so much Whitney). I've been discovering Mary's discography lately. That woman has collaborated with an incredible variety of artists (from Busta to Rod Stewart, Elton John to Andrea Bocelli, Nas to Sinead O'Connor, even Nick Cannon). She's like the go-to female singer for collabs. I don't find her voice particularly appealing but there is no denying she still gets more respect in the industry than Mariah. Be it her vocal style, or the whole "is she black, is she white" issue in the 90s, artists have always found it hard to understand Mariah's music. I'm sure jealousy and intimidation also played a big part. At least none of this stirred up a rivalry between Mariah and Mary. Both women are very gracious and I'm glad they became friends over the years.

I also enjoyed that article. It is true that no one could imagine what her addition of rap and hip hop would do to RnB and Pop (I recall in an interview she called it "hip pop" and laughed). She is the reason many have decided to be a singer and got inspired by her music and the changes she brought to RnB and Pop in general. It is also funny how, now at days, I truly long for less rap and hip hop in the current mainstream music haha. It's getting a bit overboard. But no one can deny it, Mariah's done it first.

Re: Old team vs new team (61,278) (61,316) by May from Denmark
I understand what you mean Mimi but I think it in another way. I don't attribute Mariah's confidence to Stella though but I do believe that Stella is perhaps pushing Mariah to give some more of her, Mariah used to be very static in front of the mic for a good while, I think also perhaps Stella is making Mariah feel more secure, maybe is just Packer making Mariah feel like she is the hottest chick in the world or could be that Mariah's confidence is back in place thanks to her voice also responding better and such things are reflected on stage. I don't think there's a "new Mariah" but I think there is a much more fresh version of herself, revamped outfits, revamped hair, her charisma and sultry personality are still there. But one thing that is very noticeable is that her tour (and previous shows) seem very well organized. I think must be that Stella is taking care of the things Mariah really shouldn't (and that she had to do on her own for a good while) so that Mariah can focus on what matters, the music, her voice, the dancing and the few perks in her show. Maybe it gave Mariah room to breath. The Emancipation happened a very long time and she was amazing but somehow every thing just stayed flat since then. It almost feels right now like a second Emancipation. I don't even believe she needs a "second comeback", she just needs a killer album. Her voice is there, her attitude is there, she is looking gorgeous, it seems her new team is there as well. Like it was said, Stella will be finally truly judge when a new album is released. Then I believe we will know if she is the manager Mariah needed for so long. "So far so good" like they say.

Re: Stella, the brainwashing hag from the lost world (61,284) (61,315) by May from Denmark
I agree with all this. Just seeing Mariah on stage moving the way she is doing it, finally walking from end to end, doing supersexylicious movements (a bit reminiscent of "The Adventures of Mimi" only that this time not impromptu), doing all the play around the chair like she used to when younger (Breakdown memories). I personally love that she is getting diva treatment on stage, being picked up, spun around, interacting more with the dancers, looking confident, etc. It just seems like a tone down beautiful burlesque show from the old 50s. Everything she is doing is classy-sexy and not raunchy. If the choreographer (or former haha) came up with such a complaint is perhaps because he was pushed for more and he probably was too much into a comfort zone. Mariah's dancers have been doing the same old washy steps, not many of the dances seemed to have change for a long time (I did like the one for YDKWTD). Now all looks more "risque", having the dancers giving more of their time and attention to Mariah as well. I also believe many in her old team were leeches who got too comfortable under her wings. If Stella was that bad and the current team was that bad Mariah wouldn't be doing so good. Mariah already had her Emancipation and she only had to keep it up and while she did, she also fell into a routine and I believe no body dared to ask more of herself, maybe they didn't think it was possible? Now Mariah is in shape, she is wearing leotards, she is singing great, I haven't read bad reviews at all, her shows are selling out and fans from other countries are begging her to add shows in their countries because the reviews from her tour are being so good no one wants to miss the opportunity of seeing Mariah at her best. She is recovering her reputation and image back, she is even having more followers on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, people are not being harsh at her anymore on social media, they are actually talking positive of her. The hard work is paying off, maybe some just didn't want to work hard anymore on Mariah's camp.
