Diane Warren (55,944)
by B from USA

Mariah's Theme, After Tonight, and There For Me are great songs. I'm looking forward to hearing this collaboration. Diane is an excellent songwriter. Mariah should work with her on the ballads for her next album. I also think Mariah should work with new producers. I think she should work with Happy Perez and the other producers Miguel works with.

Baby, I love you, especially since you go so hard for Mariah, but what is your obsession with bashing Nick? It's like once a week post you dedicate to bashing him, even when he isn't the topic of conversation. I don' t get it. He was 28 and she was 38. She shouldn't have said yes and she was no child. Tommy was an understandable mistake, Nick was her fault.

It can't be Taylor, since Taylor's album came way after Mariah's. Plus as far as I know Taylor didn't use any of her previous demos for this album or if she did it wasn't publicized so I don't think it's her.

Bad Blood: The Talented Mr Ripley (55,939)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End

Who is Nick Cannon? He has no discernible talents yet he managed to woo maybe the most famous woman alive and marry her within 6 weeks of courtship. And now he's rich and famous because of it. How? [censored] This isn't really an indictment on him in particular. The entertainment field is full of people just like him. He strikes me as the modern incarnation of the talented Mr Ripley, but without the talent. So why him and who are his champions? Probably those of his ilk who benefit from his prosperity. The Eve Harringtons and Addison Dewitts of the world. Something's rotten in Denmark and I can smell it from here.

Is [censored], compared to "The Emancipation Of Mimi ". Mostly all the songs are [censored] other than "Cruise control", "I'll be lovin' you long time" and the impressive "I wish you well". Another thing that [censored] about the album is that it didn't include the version with TI in "I'll be lovin' you long time". I don't know why people like it and say it's filled with hits lol. [censored] So much she could have done and still potentially do. It's not about getting hits, it's about releasing good quality music for your fans. Now "Me I am Mariah" is decent and had the potential to be great. I would have much preferred having the album how it was originally planned on being released. All those wasted unreleased tracks. But we get a song like "Infinity".

Why You Mad Infinity remix (55,937)
by Warrior Butterfly from USA

Mariah's voice is barley recognizable. I can't decide if I like it or hate it. I wanna say deeper may be even auto tuned to match the rappers? Seemed to have given up the original verses for all her guests. For some reason I though French Montana was a girl, the Bieber part was nice but the rappers did not do Infinity any favors. I was listening to the Loverboy remix, there were three guest on the track as well but all the raps matched the premise of the track's subject.

I also assumed Mariah is talking about Beyoncé with her "Beyoncé" album. Mostly I think the secret drop was Mariah's idea. But if that were the case, why would she continue telling the media how she loves Bey after the fact? I remember right before #Beautiful was released there was a lot of general public curiosity and excitement about what Mariah was working on. However, I also have wondered if Mariah was referring to Taylor Swift's "1989" album. Remember Mariah's demo tape audio was leaked on YouTube, which she recorded in 1988/89. The look of the album art I could see Mariah doing (it'd be a bit different for her, but I could see it being all about the nostalgia). I thought that maybe Mariah had some amazing idea to celebrate her demo and release new music all at the same time. It couldn't be "Bangerz" or "Prism". Maybe "Ultraviolence" by Lana Del Ray. Both Taylor and Lana are similar artists to Mariah in the sense they are among the very few artists who actually write and produce their own music, so this is kind of the basis I'm drawing comparison for.

Diane Warren is working with Mariah again (55,934)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
Diane Warren: "That song is crazy. So great to work plus hang with you again. We forgot to take a fucking picture though. See you soon." I'm guessing she was stanning for Butterfly as Mariah just tweeted: "Butterflies are free to fly", only a day ago. I love this so much because Diane is such an astute business woman aside from her stellar songwriting prowess. M could stand to adopt some of her Realsongs publishing practices every once in a while. Legends of the decades. Are you guys so excited? These things make me immeasurable happy.

What do these songs have in common apart from Mariah? Since this isn't an instant interactive site, I'll answer it for you: Diane Warren. Guess who is working with Mariah again according to this weet? I am excited. I love these 3 songs. It has been long overdue, this collaboration I mean. Our girl is busy in the studio.

Side Effects / B (55,932)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Oh Lord, I'm so ashamed to have forgotten about "Side Effects" as a single. That song is everything. I love the dark moody Mariah, I love her verses. The lyrics combined with the singing style is perfection. There is literally nothing that could improve the song any further because all areas were already perfected. This song would have made a very interesting single and since she is very descriptive in her lyrics, coming up with the visuals would have been very easy just like "Betcha Gonna Know". "I'm that chick" would also make a good single. I'm not a big fan of the song, but I do reach for it now and then because I sometimes get the urge to listen to it. E=MC2 is actually an album full of songs that can be singles, yet they chose the wrong ones. I get goosebumps at the thought of the hits Mariah could have collected from that album. Side note, Mariah call me (for singles recommendations).

I always thought that she meant Beyonce. If we take into account the major mainstream successful albums released around the time Mariah was recording MIAM, 3 albums come to mind: "Bangerz", "Beyonce", "Prism". We can all safely rule out "Bangerz" unless Mariah initially had the idea of twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs haha. "Prism" was extremely successful, but M mentioned someone stole her "concept" along with "title" and something else. The only thing I can think of regarding "Prism" is maybe at most Mariah wanted an Egyptian themed video? While that may sound like something she would be interested in, I think she meant some stole the concept of the album as a whole, not just a video. So that leaves us only with "Beyonce". It was the only album that had a twist, being labelled a "visual album" with somewhat of a running storyline spanning the artist's lifetime or a fictional storyline. Also note how both albums have songs dedicated to the babies. Beyonce had "Blue", Mariah had "Supernatural" and in both songs, the kids were named as "featured artists". I don't think it has anything to do with JD, since he didn't make any music without Mariah during that time. This question is going directly into my list of questions I'd ask MC when we are hanging out together in the Moroccan room of her penthouse haha.

I really want to know who it is lol. I wonder if she'll name and shame them at any point. People have said Beyonce but if that's the case she wouldn't have said she "loves Beyonce" in an interview last year a little before she released MIAM. Assuming it's that album since she changed the release, made new songs and title. I wondered if it might have been Jay Z taking her ideas and pitching them to Beyonce. Also, Mariah is quite friendly with Solange who often praises her on Twitter and we all know about the lift fiasco between her and Jay Z lol. It's all speculation obviously but Jay Z has seen Mariah work up close on two albums, he knows her talent and creativity

I think it has to do with Beyonce, and how she dropped a random album. Or JD must have something to do with the stolen ideas. I would really love to know what it exactly was.

IBLYLT is one of my favorites from E=MC2. I also think I'm That Chick and Side Effects would have been huge hits had they been released as singles. Bye, Bye should have never been released as a single.

Why You Mad?: the MC Infinity mixtape (55,920)
by Baby from Dreamville...Where There's No Beginning & There is No End
| |
|
|
I love it. It's a bop that not only makes me wanna dance, I find I'm already jamming pretty hard in my seat before I even get on the floor. This is a chemtest that went brilliantly. I would expect more collaborations in the future with Hudson, Bieber, French and T.I. And for those of you all who be all: What do you mean, a chemtest? Well, how else do you know if your creative energies mesh? It sounds a little "unpolished" but I actually like the juxtaposition to the slick original Infinity. She's always building new coalitions, adapting as much as she stays true to who she is as a person and artist. Always growing and moving forward. In that way, Mariah really is a natural born politician. Actually better because she genuinely likes people. All those years navigating life as a stepford wife/Agent M have paid off nicely. Can't wait for the video. Hoping Mariah is directing it as a warmup to her Christmas movie gig.

I'll be lovin' you long time (55,919)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

By the time this gem was released, E=MC2's chances were already dead. Releasing "Bye Bye" as the second single was stupid. They probably thought it would be "OSD part 2". Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love "Bye Bye" but it was not a good second single. It should have been released at the end of the era. And then Mariah eloped, cancelling all appearances. Any one with common sense would have released either "Migrate" or "IBLYLT" as the second/third singles to take full advantage of the huge success of TEOM and TMB. The video of IBLYLT is a hot video. Mariah looked hot, that gold lake scene is everything. It's probably the only video I'll excuse her "behind the scenes photo shoot" habit for music videos.

Mariah must have mentioned that someone stole her ideas multiple times by now haha. Each interview she is like "I can't talk about my future projects or they will steal it." I really wonder who stole her idea. Our girl is not happy with him/her.
