Why You Mad remix (55,881) by David from Australia I don't hate the song, but it's nothing special. Montana gets a bit annoying and I only like one of TI's lines, which is disappointing because he's normally really good. Surprisingly, I didn't hate Justin on the track like I thought I would. His verse was one of the better parts of the song. I hope the song does well, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. Bit of a weak effort compared to MC's usual remixes. Empire / Timbaland (55,880) by 123 from USA Mariah going on Empire, I hope that she gets in the studio with Timbaland. With Timbaland being the show's executive music producer and Ne-Yo signed on to work on music for the second season, it would be great to see her co-write a song with Ne-Yo with co-production from Timbaland. I would love to hear Mariah sing over a Hot Timbaland beat. Skydiving was cool, but wasn't good enough to make an album. This could be their shot at making a hot song. Timbaland publically gave Mariah props on twitter saying she made a good album with MIAM which we can all agree on. She doesn't get the credit she deserves and a respected producer publically gives her props. If they make a hot song on the level of MIAM and release it the same week she premiers on Empire will be great timing. She needs to quit playing with half trying to revive subpar songs and get in the studio and create a song of the caliber of her catalog. (Monday 10 August 2015; 4:49)

Career blemishes (55,879) by Kate from UK Do you guys think Mariah's career blemishes could ever out-weigh her successes? I know a lot of people have said MC is ruining her legacy about various things. Personally, I don't think it's possible. Nothing that Mariah could ever do can take away moments like when she walks down the stairs (dem legs) to receive Artist Of The Decade. But even on a level that isn't emotional (which I think it is more valuable) it's impossible to read about the 90s in music without seeing how she dominated the decade - Artist of the Millennium hello? Also, I think MC's life will be made into a film (maybe a little better than Glitter lol) in the far far future, like the film Gia. I mean I imagine movie studios putting together all the rumours about label drama, abusive husbands, fighting about rappers and all of the crazy highs of her career. Maybe I've been watching too many Mariah Carey documentaries lol. (Monday 10 August 2015; 2:01)

I feel like he really gets Mariah musically. I need more live performances of "The One" from Mariah. I hope that when she makes good on her promise about holding intimate concerts with only the fan favorites, "The One" is a part of it. I don't usually hear many people calling it a favorite so it might not be in the set list, but I would love it if she sings it live more. (Monday 10 August 2015; 1:44)

Empire is important (55,876) by Ty from USA By and large the black and Latino community does not think Mariah Carey can sing anymore. They think she's old and washed up. I love him and I was really excited when I saw he was on the song. Infinity/Thirsty remix should have went in the vault with that Beautiful remix video we will never see. Lol. Re: The One (55,867) (55,871) by Licia from USA The One is my jam. Not only is it from my number one favorite album CB, but it's just a great song. I absolutely love the remix though. Alot of fans don't enjoy the remix because of how her voice sounds on it (truthfully on certain parts you wouldn't even think it's Mariah singing), but I just love the sample that they used. The Goodbye Love sample by Guy just flowed so well. JD knows how to put together a remix. Also that whole Shining Through The Rain show was awesome IMO. Of course anything CB is awesome to me. Lol. Empire (55,869) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Mariah should not take her "Empire" appearance lightly. It should not be "just for laughs". This role is yet another huge opportunity to catapult her back to the top. Empire is one of the highest rated TV shows with a huge fan following and its soundtrack steadily remained in the top 3 on Billboard for a long time. She did say she wrote stuff for the show, so let's see. It better not be a sub par song. No celebrity of Mariah's level has made an appearance on the show yet. So she can take the opportunity and blow up the charts with this. (Yes cue to the trolls to come mock me for expecting a chart blasting song, but I believe in Mariah so you all can sit.) Timbaland is responsible for all the music in Empire and I would love for Mariah to work with him. He did great with Justin Timberlake. Mariah can either go with a new song (which I highly encourage) or she can do what Estelle did with "conqueror" and use one of her existing or rarely known songs (fan favorite maybe) and turn it into a duet with Jussie. I don't know if the fan favorite/existing song idea will work so the new song is her best bet. Lee is no fool so he'll get the best out of Mariah. Plus Mariah seems to listen to him. So here's hoping that Mariah's role in Empire is a major success. (Monday 10 August 2015; 0:04)

But yes one of them definitely needs to go and a Mariah verse (preferably the rap or "is it lack of ice") should be added. They also need to do something about the "infinity ee ee". The One (55,867) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter "The One" is one of my favorite Mariah songs, and I love her voice in it. I absolutely adore her live performance of this song on "Shining through the rain". If I am not mistaken, I think this was the performance where it looked like when she started with the whistles she was going to do it like the album version, so she started and immediately stopped for a second and instead went on and did a completely different whistle where she just let loose and went with the flow. I loved it. The performance of "Infinity" at "Michael and Kelly" reminds me of that performance of "The one" because in the Disneyland version of "infinity" Mariah does the usual high note and then just throws in a few more random new whistles, harmonizing with the beat. It's like she was feeling super confident and just went with the flow, whistling away. (Sunday 9 August 2015; 23:51)

Re: Why You Mad? thoughts (55,860) (55,865) by Mike from FL, USA This song has really grown on me. I can't get the beat or Mariah's "baby why you mad, go on tell me why you mad" out of my head. Call me crazy but I haven't got these "goosebumps" moment for a new Mariah single/remix in a while. It seems like since around the Triumphant "era", it's taken me a dozen listens to get on board with anything she's released. Excluding MIAM, of course. I still cry every time I hear Camouflage. I completely got off point lol. What I was trying to say is that I was hooked with WYM after the second listen which is a feeling I haven't gotten from a Mariah song since E=MC2 and Memiors. To be completely honest, I haven't felt it like this since first hearing WBT and DFAU. Those were the days. Haha. Don't get it twisted though, I enjoy almost every song this woman has ever put out, and have favorites from every album like everyone else, but I've missed this feeling. Sorry for the long posts, I'm just excited that Mariah has been reminding me lately why I've been a fan since day one and will always be. (Sunday 9 August 2015; 22:52)

Throw in another verse for Mariah to sing and segue into the end. I do however love the random almost inverted production, it's very different than other collabos she has done. Leigh, seriously? (55,855) (55,861) by Marcus from Brazil Leigh, Lord have mercy. Anything resembling "Infinity", album version and mess-mix, shouldn't ever be linked to "Empire". Empire is a huge platform for Mariah to bring it. If there's an opportunity for Mariah to have a hit this year that's "Empire". People love "Empire", any music released from there has traction right away, but not big name like Mariah has used it yet to capitalize on that. I rather she dusts off one of those hidden gems she never released and use it. Many great songs on "Empire". When TMZ is being positive about her, then she should know it is time to work it. Lee Daniels implied that she gave hell of a performance, let's hope the music is great too. (Sunday 9 August 2015; 16:25)

Why You Mad? thoughts (55,860) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines Pros: 1) Healthier-sounding re-recorded vocals. Proves that Mimi was having a rough day at the studio when she cut the original. 2) The omission of the rambling pre-chorus, which in the original version was cute (and childish), but was melodically the weakest part of the song. 3) Better beat and catchier overall sound is more radio-friendly. 4) Justin was surprisingly decent-sounding. Auto-tuned to death, but decent. Cons: 1) Too many guest features. Seriously, since when did Mariah start to be okay with being relegated to chorus girl in her own recordings? I Still Believe (Pure Imagination)? The Heartbreaker remix? Even so, both songs are far (like light years) superior to this. I get that she may be just giving other artists a chance to shine, but even generosity shouldn't come at the expense of the main artist's own exposure. 2) Same patchwork production, maybe even worse than the original. 3) It's official - French Montana ruins everything he features in. He's the new Pitbull. 4) T.I. was way off his game as well. Conclusion: Definitely not her best but one of her worst, although not her worst ever. That goes to #Beautiful with A$AP Rocky. Why You Mad? (55,859) by Pablo from Spain I personally don't like it, but I would never call another person delusional for liking it. More power to the people who do like it as they have another song to groove to. People have different tastes, and no one should ever call anyone delusional or names for liking what they like. The world would be boring if everyone liked the same things. Even though it's not my cup of tea, for Mariah's sake, if it blows up the airwaves, great for her. If not, I'll be looking forward to her next album and continue to enjoy 25 years of her fantastic music in the meantime.
