You Got Me (55,281) by Tevin from USA
I was listening to the song You Got Me, and I realized that the whistle notes at the end sound a lot like the ones on the song Dedicated off of MIAM.

Butterfly the song (55,280) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
'Originally, Butterfly was going to be a house record and, in fact, Fly Away was my starting point for the song," according to Mariah herself and I was thinking how WA said something about how Butterfly the album was unfinished. I tried to find the interview where he is talking to a station anyway. I like to think had Butterfly the song had stated strictly a house record how would it have shaped the album as whole. Seriously if you remove the song Butterfly from the sequence and play as is Fly Away is a great surprise.

Unfinished song that are interludes or preludes (55,279) by Warrior Butterfly from USA
I noticed Mariah uses inter/pre-ludes very sparingly. My hunch is these are parts of the original song. Angels Cry has a slightly different vibe from the album cut. Vulnerability maybe was an original concept for Heartbreaker was a ballad. Interlude (Fantasy Sweet Dub Mix) was another idea for Fantasy that did not work for the track. However one interlude irks me, Languishing feels very unfinished as if it could have been fleshed out more. With that said I think it very pretty the way it is and the fact that it's under the standard song length of 4+ minutes is nice and simple and makes a statement.

Fantasy (55,278) by Luke from United Kingdom
Andrew, I had an idea of what you were talking about because I thought I'd heard her do it too. Do you mean this one? I could be wrong but she does a random "On and on and on" part in this performance. Around 2:46.

Ryan: On and on and on (55,276) by Geronimo from USA
Ryan, you are thinking of "Supernatural". Great song that I am never in the mood for on the album's track-listing.

It's so deep in my daydream (55,274) by Andrew from UK
I have absolutely no idea how to ask this question, but let me clench and shake: Does anybody know the Mariah performance of Fantasy where, at the climax of the song, she does the "on and on and on" full belt and, um, different. In so much as it doesn't go down a lot: the last "on" is on the major key, and it's massively happy, playful and banging. "On and on and oh-oh-on." I have no idea if that makes sense. And this is probably ridiculous. I just pissed off my neighbours with it from my car, and found myself singing that part like that and I wanna hear that performance again. Because. It. Was. Banging.

Everyone's opinions (55,273) by Kate from UK
Hey lambs, I loved hearing your thoughts on the topic. I was actually hesitant to post that topic because I thought you all would think I wanted to drown the board with negativity, but I figured people wouldn't cry about it as it wasn't serious. Oh well lol. Mimi L, I've got to say I was shocked at your choices haha.

Legacy artists, she's a tad bit too youthful don't you think? (55,272) by Amber C from USA
2015 is the year Mariah became a legacy artist. When your solidified as such off course it's hard to have people give a flick about your new music. I bet her people weren't thinking about this. I'm tired of Mariah performing the #1s over and over and over again. In her case I personally believe overdoing the #1s thing is not working to her advantage. This is because she's been doing it for so long (mentioning the greatest hits), it's cool to think of Mariah as old school. But lame to think of her as current. In my opinion it's a little too early for this album and this Vegas era. I'm just scared that the next album will flop again because of the perception that the general public who aren't lambs have of Mariah's brand as of now. But if Mariah want to live in Vegas and perform the same hits over and over again, more power to her. . But as for me, I'm bored of it. Sony wasn't looking to make new memories, and it's quite obvious by their choices. Mariah is the one person who should have never set foot in Vegas.

The Vegas hype and Sony Records (55,271) by Amber C from USA
Sony Records is s succeeding at making Mariah a legacy artist and Mariah is not hurting the process with those ball gowns. Gwen Stafani can release something next year, as can JLo and age wouldn't be a factor. A lot of us on here are saying Mariah's voice is getting better, but honestly her voice sounds exactly the same as last Christmas minus that one mishap on NBC. I wish Mariah never did Vegas and never went to Sony. The product we got for Me I Am Mariah, from the very beginning of that era to the very end was everything. I listen to Chanteuse and it's awesome. Mariah is mislead because if she flops or if an album does bad she tries to run from it. The Art Of Letting Go could have been a success if they followed through and did not second guess. Stupid LA Reid wil try to make some RnB washed up mess and I'm scared. I don't trust LA Reid as I feel Mariah is blind sided buy this man. Many people don't trust him in the industry. Mariah believes that he loves her but it's all fake. He is one of the men in the industry that screw people up. I see right through him, for making her believe the Emancipation's success was due to him. Remember that hashtage that he made when Infinity came out? He put "We belong together" there in the hashtag with Infinity. He mislead Mariah to release Infinity which is single handedly inferior to every single song on Me I Am. When will Mariah just quit trying to rewrite history? When will Stella read this forum and give Mariah clues about what's up.

Leigh / worst songs (55,270) by Mirage_Nunez from America
Girl I didn't want to be the one to say it, but I wasn't exactly getting my life from this topic either (no shade to whoever started it). As much critism and negativity that runs rampid on here already, do we really need detailed analysis on why this or that song was so horrible? (Side note: I'm not referring to the people who just said they skip this or that song without bashing it. That's understandable.) I'd rather analyze and break down the genius of her best songs, but that's just me. Besides half of the songs mentioned are the reason I'm a fan, I'm up here like really? How could you possibly hate Cry, Faded, Candy Bling, Languishing, Underneath The Stars? *gasps for air* I could keep going but I won't. I agree we need more progressive, encouraging, beneficial topics. The state of Mariah is. Lets go

MC and Nippy (55,269) by B from USA
Mariah has a technically more impressive voice. Her range surpasses Whitney's. Mariah started experimenting with her voice to show her versatality as a vocalist. Whitney has a more expressive voice. I think the years or wear and tear have made Mariah's voice more expressive. The two greatest singers ever are Mariah and Whitney. It really is a matter of taste but I love them both.

Mimi L (55,268) by Leigh from USA
I couldn't agree with you more and the "unknown" factor will always be that variable that will keep us guessing about what to expect next from her and her team. One huge unknown are the details of her current 2 years contract with Caesar's and exactly how much freedom she will have to be creative. Since her shows are yielding successful results, I doubt magament will allow her to change things up much. IMO, but depending on time constraints between this leg and February with the Beacon and the movie, I don't think it would be impossible to sneak in a new song or maybe a new cover without any publicity prior. Trying something out on that audience in Vegas is a great testing grounds again. IMO as I suggested in my earlier post thoughost, it has to be created and performed from MC's heart and soul. This is how all the other 18#'s came to be. Thanks for offering info that encourages new ideas.

Album and all (55,267) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
With all the positive publicity Mariah is getting since the beginning of this year, it would be perfect if she secretly gets an album ready and schedule it for a January 2016 release. No need to talk about it before that. Just keep recording and mapping out a proper roll out, get the videos ready, the interviews booked and a possible "Making of the album" documentary along with a few magazine interviews. She should strike while the iron is hot. In this day and age people have a very short attention span. Bad publicity can be covered up with good publicity but it takes lesser time for the bad publicity to throw out the good publicity. So now that people are hating her less, praising her more, she should just take advantage of it. Waiting for a long time is less likely to work. Just saying. I don't know exactly how much pressure she will be under after Vegas because we don't have any clue about her upcoming projects apart from the movie. So if she can handle it, I think she should go for it. Plus I still believe Mariah kept some gems to herself from the MIAM recording sessions.

Mariah / Whitney (55,266) by Billy from Greece
Here's a nice comment I found on YouTube that describes some of each of these legends' vocal qualities: "One of the primary differences between Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston vocally is that Mariah Carey operates on color, shape and texture while maintaining a more narrow window of volume, while Whitney Houston operated on dynamics with essentially two textures."

I think you are the one who needs to get off the computer and go get some air. It is not that serious. Lol. For once we are having a conversation without any arguments and most importantly we are laughing with each other. We aren't being disrespectful to Mariah or each other so I don't get what the issue is.

Asia / Boy (I Need You) (55,264) by this_is_qhm from the Philippines
Asia never lets any of their fave artists down, and Mariah is definitely one of them. I like Boy (I Need You). Not ashamed to say that. I get how it can be irritating to most, and it's far from Mariah's best vocal performance, but it's honestly a better song than most fans on this board give credit for. It's not the worst thing in the world. Plus, she looks sensational in the playful video.

Re: Blah, blah, blah... seriously? by Leigh from USA (55,263) by MimiLamb from Germany
I couldn't agree more. Of course we all have our favorite and least favorite MC songs. I don't hate any, as how this discussion started, it's just some songs are not really my taste, but I know others love them. It's not a given fact as to which songs are bad and which songs are good. It all comes down to personal preferences, I don't need to explain mine, because it doesn't change a thing.

Blah, blah, blah... seriously? (55,262) by Leigh from USA
O.k. probably won't win Miss Congeniality for what follows, but seriously, what on earth are we discussing here? MC songs that were very popular with others but I don't like them at all with my supporting arguments? WTF. This sound like junior high debate. Besides the fact that some people need to get off their couch, open their front door and breathe. Compared to world hunger and peace or whether the arms embargo will be lifted from Iran [...] about my song preferences. I love MC's music, but shouldn't we be looking ahead and maybe provide support for success in the future? And I don't mean pointing out the obvious flaws (I am sure MC is aware) or "wish for collabs with others" like seen on other forums, but give honest, constructive input and just maybe someone might hear or read the info and put it to good use. Personally, I am not a bit concerned about MC because she will write and sing at least one more #1. And it won't matter how old she is, how much she weighs, her ethnicity, or what she looks like, as long as she writes and sings it from her heart and soul. That is how she created [...]. O.k. I'm done now.

Las Vegas residency (55,260) by B from USA
#1's To Infinity has been succesful. This was a smart move career wise for Mariah. It's proving that she still has her voice and can still sing. The album sold well considering it's a reissues with only one song that you either love or hate. Mariah's career is actually in a up swing with the Christmas movie in the works, her upcoming seasonal Beacon shows, and the extension of her residency. Infinity recieved great reviews from critics.

Skipped 2 (55,259) by B from USA
Memoirs except Obsessed, Candy Bling, Standing O, and Languishing. MIAMTEC: I don't skip them but these are my least favorite songs from the album: One More Try and Heavenly but both songs have redeeming qualities. I love The One. It's my favorite song from Charmbracelet. Did someone say Butterfly was their less favorite album? Butterfly has no bad songs. It's a classic. How could someone skip The Roof, Underneath The Stars, The Fourth Of July, Don't Forget About Us, and JTHYOA.

I just noticed this but she's singing Dreamlover the same way now as when she sang it at MSG. Atleast at the beginning she is.

Enwar / another song that should have been trashed (55,257) by Licia from USA
Noooooo. The One is better. Especially the remix despite how different her voice was. I like Boy, but no. Lol. I was so mad when they replaced The One as a single for Boy. CB is my favorite album and of all the songs that could have been singles Boy isn't one of them. Lol. I will admit to the remix of Boy being slightly better than the original version as Paul said. Did I Do That is another song that never should have been made. That song is horrible. I love the original song to the sample she used. Whatever they tried to do for Did I Do That didn't work. I'd rather listen to Infinity than that song. (We all know I hate that one lol.)
