Favorite cover song on the wrong album (108,038) by Bobby A from United States
I was thinking yesterday about all of the things that I dislike about I Want To Know What Love Is. IWTKWLI was on the wrong album. It would have sounded better on Butterfly replacing Outside. Additionally, I have three reasons why IWTKWKLI should have been recorded 12 years earlier.

1. The three minutes and 27 seconds song length would have sounded perfectly on Butterfly.
2. MC's voice was in better shape on Butterfly than Memoirs.
3. Walter Afansieff's piano playing and production would have soared IWTKWLI to the top of the charts.

Great post Brandon. I believe Maxwell has a great fondness for MC. If he could it make happen, I believe he would choose MC. I hope we get something new from MC soon. I miss hearing MC on the radio and seeing her albums in stores.

Robert-Anthony, I've always thought that an MC and Maxwell joint world tour would be amazing. Maxwell is a great performer and has hits. They would sell out arenas all over the world. Of course, MC would be last in the line up but they both love R&B, are from the same era and would be a great night of music.

Mimi, you may be on to something. MC hasn't had too many releases or ceremonies in the month of March. Maybe March is going to be a special anniversary for MC. By the way, I hope she is done with these Vegas shows. Her time there should come to an end this year. I would love a Maxwell and Mimi 20-date tour this summer for their fans. Maxwell and Mimi: For Fans Only Tour.

I'm going to pull an RA and put it out there that I'm manifesting a March release or announcement in March from MC. Her new post kinda seems like she's ready to kick off a new era, she's also receiving an iHeartRadio Icon award in March. I had given up hope on a new album so I'm being cautiously optimistic. Also I hope whoever presents the award (and if there's a tribute) it's someone relevant.

An a cappella pre-recorded track? She has a few of those?

I think she does them every day in her home or a studio but because of her perfection or an expectation of perfection that she thinks people expect from her, she gets stiff and or like a vocal puppet.

I have to agree with Brandon. But it would be really nice if Mariah surprises us with a confident acapella version in the future. Or just a live version of a new song. Maybe on an event which is not watched by so many people around the world. That the pressure wouldn't be so high.

Well, my thoughts about him are very negative so I would not enjoy it. Snoop Dog? Wow. That's a surprise.

RL, let me jump in. MC is already a nervous wreck performing at high profile live events. She gets terribly afraid. Plus she loves a pre-recorded moment so that she doesn't have to try to hit the studio notes live or worry about her voice cracking. In addition, her voice is very unreliable these days and she knows that. If her sound went out, I don't know that she would pull off a good live acapella moment like Carrie these days. She's too dependent on pre-recorded vocals these days. This is my opinion and I'm not changing it lol.

Zachariah - Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Rascal Flatts, Jason Aldean and more performed. It was a really great night.

1992 MC would have done exactly what Carrie did. However, 2013 MC would have asked the inaugural committee member, Senator Amy Klobuchar, to ask the sound technician to fix the problem before she could sing the song. I wish MC would get the same business mindset as Dolly Parton. Dolly will release an album by any means necessary without the mindset of having a hit album. I have seen Dolly release more Cracker Barrel and Wal-Mart exclusives than any other artist during the past 15 years. Finally, Dolly released eight independent label albums between 1991 and 2022.

Robert Anthony and MusicfanJ, do you think if MC had the music go out that she would take on the performance like Carrie Underwood did? I'd like to say yes, but I think back to the technical difficulties of her NYE performance. I'd still love to hear new music from her.

I was shocked that she decided to sing. I honestly thought that nobody will sing at his inauguration. I guess I was wrong.

His son is very attractive indeed. Something funny: the Trump bakery in Germany (Pfalz, where his grandparents are from) is selling the Trump cake. And of course it's selling like hot cakes.

I watched the inauguration. Carrie Underwood was fantastic. Yes, the acapella version was wonderful. I'm still very happy with MB30 too. I love the booklet, the bonus tracks, remixes and concert CD. "My prayer" is always on repeat.

I keep the original sequence and then add the tracks that were released in chronical order: DYTOM, EFA, All I Live For, Workin' Hard, My Prayer. Then I added Endless Love and JBGTM (live) since I heard her sing that during the Music Box tour. Although I know that version is from the Daydream tour. I think it was a smart choice to go with Without You instead of My Prayer. However my dad's favorite group is the Platters, so he really enjoyed hearing MC's version of that song. I've also been watching YouTube react videos of people discovering some of her tracks "for the first time". The same reactions come up: she has a great voice, she's a brilliant writer, layering of her voice in background vocals is good. All the YouTubers have also noted that talent of today has nothing on MC.

RL, I love what the bonus tracks added to Music Box. Also, Carrie killed it anyway. This is just a question that I have to ask after watching the inauguration ceremony today. Does anyone else feel Donald Trump Jr. has a good chance of being People's magazine Sexist Man of Alive in 2025? I love to hear him speak at his father's events.

I've been listening to Music Box with all the B sides and bonus tracks. Growing up I thought that album was always too short, so it's nice to hear the full version of tracks she was considering for the album. It's also nice to include more upbeat tracks. Hopefully she'll release a new album soon. Anyone seen Carrie Underwood today? There was a malfunction with the music during the inauguration, so she sang a cappella. Much respect to her.

Whenever you call live at Hawaii Butterfly Tour (108,017) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I really enjoyed the latest posts on here. Some ideas and wishes are really good. I hope MC realizes a few of them.

To my subject. Have you heard this? I always loved "Whenever you call". One of my favourite ballads from her. Also this live version has a little raspiness sometimes, but somehow it makes it even more heartfelt. I think it's just so beautiful. The lyrics, the melody, I miss songs like that. Mariah is always so sweet while talking to the audience. I love her speaking voice.
