TAOLG (39,974) by clueey23 from USA
It's not that deep. I'm just happy to have new music. In case you all that are complaining haven't noticed, this isn't the 90s nor is it the 2000s, it's the 2010s and things have changed in the music industry. When it comes to releasing music, there are no rules anymore. MC is doing just fine. And when it's time we will know. Do you know how many songs got the single treatment and still didn't impact the charts the way TAOLG has? TAOLG is not a flop. It's far from over, listen to her on American Dad. See her on two Christmas specials and gear up for a 2014 album release. I played the song TAOLG for a few people and also showed them her private performance because a friend of mine from Texas brought up the BET Awards and how they could've only imagined what I was thinking in that moment. And I said those are her vocals regardless and played the new material and live material and they were left with their mouths on the floor. And just as I thought. MC releases a song with great lyrics and Beyonce follows suit with a song for her DVD release of the HBO special. Her song is even less radio friendly in my opinion. But it is great to hear a singer sing about something other than partying, money, and sex. I think, pray and hope the music is about to shift from what it is today to where it could've gone if it wasn't hijacked in the past decade.

Hot shot debut (39,973) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway

Wikipedia (39,972) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
If you guys look at Mariah's singles discography on Wikipedia, you will notice that the E=MC2 era wasnt that bad. Actually, in Japan it's one of her most profound eras in her career. Considering her career being 18 years old in 2008, that is not bad at all. It's all about perspectives guys, #Beautiful was a decent hit in the Us, and now TAOLG is a decent hit on the rnb and hip hop charts.

Re: David (39,971) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
I believe TAOLG is the second single. And if I'm going to make a wild guess, I believe a duet with Stevie Wonder will be the third single and I believe it's going to go viral.

David from Spain (39,970) by Lamb_O_Chop from Australia
Hunty, have you not been reading the board since your last comment? TAOLG was released for the fans, not for radio or to be a number one hit. So there won't be a video. If you like the song then just embrace it, if not then let it go. I know it ain't easy.

Really? Where is Mariah? (39,969) by Edward from USA
At this point I think there are serious issues between Mariah and her label. I have the feeling something's up, and it is not good. Mariah drops a new single, comes back to complain about a mistake that most didn't notice, and disappears into thing air leaving us all rolling our eyes. I am concerned because even if Mariah has a great album ready to be released, all this mess has being killing the momentum. Why didn't she just release TAOLG as an album cut, why call it a single when it hasn't gotten the single treatment? Four effing years, and some dare say that she knows what she's doing as if she can't do no wrong!

I'm confused (39,968) by David from Spain
I don't understand Mariah. TAOLG is a total flop. The label doesn't promote it. I'm very confused with this "album", because I don't know if this song is the first, second, or third single.

Re: wax figure (39,967) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Maybe it's like with the star on the walk of fame, maybe she doesn't want one, who knows? Do we really know anything?

Re: TAOLG (39,966) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
It's #7 on the South Korean charts, and #19 on Bubbling under Hot 100 chart.

TAOLG (39,965) by Joachim Agerup Løkkevik from Norway
Without a proper release, TAOLG has become a moderate hit on US Billboard Hot rnb songs and rnb digital song. Who else could have achieved that? She was, is and allways will be the queen of the Billboard charts.

Wax figure (39,964) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Does anyone know why Mariah doesn't have a wax figure at Madame Tussauds? Even Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus have one, but Mariah doesn't. Madonna and Michael Jackson and some others have multiple figures in each branch of Madame Tussauds.

American Dad (39,963) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
I thought she did fantastic voice work. I did a double take. She took on a whole other character. I just have to take a moment to say how much I appreciate Mariah. I love a vast amount of music, but no other artist has captivated me in quite the same way that she has for 23 years. I do feel that her music has been a soundtrack in my life. Today I stumbled across the video of Patti Labelle singing Hero in tribute to Mariah in 2012. I was again truly moved by MC's reaction. It's really easy for people to get caught up in the celebrity stuff and yes the diva stuff is part of the celeb persona, but most of the time she makes fun of that herself. Underneath all the glam, Mariah is genuine and humble. The real deal.

Walk Of Fame star (39,962) by Licia from USA
I thought you had to pay for your own star. They just don't give them to you. That article about Mariah not saying anything is so poorly written. Half the stuff said was untrue. When did Mariah have a We Belong Together album? Lol.

Star on Walk Of Fame (39,961) by 123 from USA
The reason why MC doesn't have a star is because she doesn't want one. She was going to get one previously which I believe was going to be used as part of her promotion for the E=MC2, but never followed through. You have to pay for your star, 30,000 to be exact. You also have to apply and be approved. They don't just give you one. So she might have already been approved to receive one but not followed through with the rest of the process. Here is the link to all of steps to getting one. The article is called How to Get a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in case you want to read it.

Mariah Carey should have never said anything - article (39,960) by 123 from USA
The author of this article is an idiot. He misquoted her stating she said she was led to believe she was the first signed on. When she actually said she was led to believe it was a three person panel. Mariah didn't complain the whole time she was on the show and she is no longer under contract with them so why can't she be honest and say it was bad experience. Just because they paid her a lot of money, doesn't mean she can't express how bad the experience was. Did this author not watch the season? Nicki called her a bitch within the first 10 minutes of the show for millions to see. Then he went on to say why she would prefer to introduce some of the contestants to producers because even though they were talented, they weren't put through because of politics (aka: you are not tv worthy-beautiful, dramatic, comedic, or some other feature that would bring in ratings). I know plenty of talented people who were not put through and were flat out told, you have a great voice, but you don't fit the mold for this show. Then watch the pretty girl with an average voice get through. The judges don't actually put anyone through, the producer sits behind the camera and signals the judges to say yes or no. This is what she meant by politics. Then the author goes on to say that they have her We Belong Together album? People need to actually do some research on the subject matter they are writing about if they actually want to be considered "credible" journalists.

Star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame / management (39,958) by SC from USA
Hi guys. I came across a picture yesterday of Jennifer Hudson getting a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Jennifer Hudson! I still can't believe her PR people and management. This is not rocket science. It really pisses me off that she either doesn't care or she doesn't have a corporation around her to care for the business and image. I initially thought things were going to change with JD, but so far nothing. Where is Cindi Berger? Why should people like Jennifer Hudson or Ryan Seacrest get stars and not MC? That's just the tip of the iceberg. But no promotion for a ballad from an artist who needs to promote things because she's not a Rihanna, or a Lady Gaga. [...] Where are the radio, tv interviews? She needs to understand that things need to be organized. You can't keep putting out singles and singles to check on reactions and delay and delay albums. This always happens to her. It's like they are not prepared. Look at Justin Timberlake's success this year. All organized. He made it about the music and look at the success. It frustrates me because she has the same (if not more) potential, but they don't use it. As of today, we still don't have a date for the new album and the fake tour that was supposed to happen in Asia is not here or even organized. How can an artist so immersed in sales and success in the past not be concerned with today's ways of promoting a song? We need promo to spread the word. [...]

The lessons of AIWFCIY (39,956) by Brad from USA
Hi lambs. I try to write helpful, not argumentative posts. So I will just say that as a 23+ years, and counting, fan of Mariah who has always supported her, that I think we are entitled to speak our opinions and offer our suggestions, especially since she still seems to want us to buy into and get excited about her work. That said, I love TAOLG. I wish the world could hear it and it would catch fire. Practically, I think there are greater lessons for her in popular songs like AIWFCIY and Dreamlover and Always Be My Baby. These are "fun", light, uplifting, singable songs that most people enjoy. I think her music needs to be "fun" again to catch a broader interest and audience. I also think her "team" needs reworking and it would be great for her to be open to more opinions and suggestions. I support and love you MC and want all the joy your work provides me to continue strong. With nothing but love, your biggest, oldest dang lamb out there.

TAOLG / IDJ (39,955) by Edward from USA
The way I see it, TAOLG is one of those songs Def Jam didn't agree to back up as a single material, but Mariah went and released it anyway. That's why we haven't seen any type of promotion on IDJ's part. Nobody has huge promotion anymore. It made sense when artists sold millions of albums, but now if you are selling a million is a huge success. If we think about it, the clear channel deal to play #Beautiful must've cost way more than what they got from single sales. And for Mariah making music for the fans, I don't think so. If it were that way, she would've become a free agent a long time ago. IDJ is in it to make money. She should've release TAOLG as an album cut, she instead called it a single, and a single that doesn't perform on the charts is a flop, as simple as that. Pushing the album back so many times might have a "Leona Lewis Glassheart" effect, when the album comes out, people might not be interested anymore unless she can produce a monster song. I can't believe how messy this era has turned out to be. Four years to release an album, and it seems to be we keep getting half cooked singles.

Ok, maybe not Nicki, but still I don't believe it's a love song (39,954) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I admit that I did initially think this was about Tommy, but certain things just don't add up for me. First of all, I just don't buy that this is a love song. It doesn't feel deep enough for me, so yes maybe it is and old partner who just came back into the picture and so it is more frustration than hurt. Mariah has written many songs about her father and God and such that have words such a baby by the way, and has said many times that she does this to make the songs more relatable. I think it may be someone she cared for but not intimately. Maybe Tommy tried to contact her for this new album, so it is about him. Again she has not mentioned who she is working with if anybody from the old company, but it had to be somebody within the last three years and she is deeply in love with Nick so there would in my opinion be much greater main and emotion and heartbreak so I don't believe it could be him, he saved her from falling.

Bring it on home (39,953) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It was never mentioned if they were going to release it as a single or as part of the album. I think it was just meant for Obama. I think Barbara Walters did not really know that. (I can't be sure though.) I hate it that Almost Home didn't do better. I love the song, it's so beautiful and motivating. MC actually could have released the album by now. #Beautiful did better on Billboard than "It's like that", she could have followed it up with a strong ballad and then just release the album. I think all the remixes were a bit pointless (espcially the one with A$AP), because it didn't really help the song.

What on earth are you saying? You really want Mariah to go back to what she felt was prison just so she can have a hit? I'd take any Mariah song anyday and not care if it's a hit or not. It is frustrating that she or her management is being a little sloppy with this album, but that doesn't mean I want her to divorce nick and go back to Tommy. If you are a true MC fan you should learn to appreciate her music regardless of its chart position.
