Billy from Greece / Ryan Adams (39,437)

He's told that story quite a few times, and he tweeted Mariah about that a few months ago. He's shown himself to be quite a fan of Mariah's actually. He's written about her music a few times and seems to really enjoy Mariah's music, even her recent output. He is also married to Mandy Moore, who has also referred to Mariah as an inspiration many many times.

"I took notice (99.9%) that she hasn't wrote a song yet that has had a swear or cuss word in it which is amazing." You may need to check that twice I think (from "Charmbracelet" onwards to be exact).

Mariah wonderful beyond words (39,435)
by OGmattyICE from US

Well first of all I'm head over heels in love with Mariah. I discovered her music a year ago and I'm so in love with her. She puts a smile on my face every day. This might sound a little cheesy, but her music seriously takes my soul to another place and basks in love, because it's so amazing. It's like a drug that I can't stop taking. And the icing on the cake, she is the cutest girl I ever seen. Nick is one lucky bastard. And oh, I took notice (99.9%) that she hasn't wrote a song yet that has had a swear or cuss word in it which is amazing. Because in the life and times of today's music industry, you have to include swear words to make it more popular or trendy. But not Mariah, which is what I love about her. I call her my inspiration and am so deeply madly in love with her, I can't descibe it with words. Funny, because if you asked me 2 years ago before I discovered her music, I would said, Mariah Carey hell no. But I changed and I'm so glad I did. Mariah she's ah. I'm just angry I was born in 1992. Dammit mom and dad, why couldn't you had me in the early 80s?

Ryan Adams (39,434)
by Billy from Greece

I'm not sure how many people know this so I thought I could post it: Ryan Adams (whose music I'm not really familiar with) has an album called "Heartbreaker". According to Wikipedia, the album's title originates from a poster of Mariah (in this case, the "Heartbreaker" single cover I presume): "My manager called and said, 'You have 15 seconds to name this record.' My eyes focused on this poster of Mariah wearing a T-shirt that said Heartbreaker. I just shouted, 'Heartbreaker'!" Cool, ha?

There shouldn't even be a debate. We've seen the other twins alot. It's not new lol. Seriously, if she was butt naked I'd be a little upset, but this pic is no big deal to me. People need to debate when she's butt naked and spread eagle showing her twat to the world ala Madonna style. They can also miss me with the "she's a mother " stuff too. I have seen plenty mothers do worst.

My wish list (39,432)
by Rashidi Rahim Rick from Malaysia
| |
|
|
I've been a lamb since Daydream (1995) and this is my wish list of Mariah that I hope would come true before I die. 1. Collaborate with Walter for just one more power ballad for old times sake. 2. Do another unplugged. 3. Do a duet with Celine Dion and Toni Braxton. 4. Finish up Rainbow Interlude to a full song 5. Perform "When I Saw You" live 6. Do sequel of Glitter (I'm kidding hehehe)

People are just over reacting. It's not like we've never seen Mimi in a bra before lol. It's just underwear and we've seen way much worse lately. Why are people acting on her? At least she is sexy for real.

That story made me lol. The fact that they brought up the staged Wild N Out episode with Mariah basically shows how credible the world already knows they are not. Lol.

New Mariah album plus cover (39,428)
by Wy Z from Australia
| |
|

Hey lambs, I'm new here and I just wanted to say that I'm highly anticipating MC's new album. I feel like it's going to be a retro sounding r&b album, she's hinted at going back to her earlier albums' sound. Anyways, on another topic, I was hoping you guys could leave constructive feedback on my acapella cover of Mariah's recent hit #Beautiful.

Hello! / world songs (39,427)
by Martyn from England, UK
| |
|
|
Hi all! I've been reading this board for years, but thought I'd finally join. In terms of signature song in the UK, I'd say it's probably "Without You", "Hero" or "We Belong Together" (pretty obvious, really). You don't hear much Mariah though, the UK just don't get her which frustrates me so much, especially when I see people stanning hard for the likes of Rihanna and Miley Cyrus.

Signature songs in Brazil (39,426)
by Carlos Belizário from Brazil
| |
|
|
Hi guys, I'm new, I love the site. I read every day! Mariah is huge in Brazil. Her songs are often used in soap operas and especially the ballads are very popular here. The AC radio stations still play her a lot. I Still Believe, Bye Bye, I Want To Know What Love Is (#1 in Brazil for 24 weeks), I'll Be There, Touch My Body are the most popular. For the Pop stations, Heartbreaker, It's Like That, We Belong Together, I Know What You Want, Obsessed and Touch My Body are the most popular. Here is a list of Mariah's songs in soap operas: Vision of Love (Rainha da Sucata) My All (Corpo Dourado) Do You Know Where You Going To (Suave Veneno) I Want To Know What Love Is (Viver a Vida)

Mimi on the radio (39,425)
by Tory from Australia
| |
|
|
Over here (New Zealand), I mainly hear Without You, I'll Be There, One Sweet Day, Dreamlover, Always Be My Baby, We Belong Together, I Wanna Know What Love Is and Fantasy. I remember how shocked I was when "There's Got To Be A Way" and "Butterfly" came on the radio once lol. Overall I'd say Without You, I'll Be There and One Sweet Day are her biggest hits here. Ironically, Vision Of Love went to #1 here in 1990, but I have never heard it on the radio.

Nick Cannon birthday (39,424)
by Cheryl Jones from American

I hope you had a good birthday Nick. I hope Mariah had something special planned for you. I have a Christain friend that said Mariah wasn't dressed too good on her hubby seducer. But I think she was dressed fine. That's a beautiful and sexy bra. My sister is really beautiful, I don't care what people say. I love you all.

It's cool to me hearing which Mariah songs are still played in different parts of the world. Here in Chicago I think it's Always Be My Baby that gets the most recurrent airplay.

JD as manager (39,422)
by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
| |
|

I admit I was a little apprehensive about it. Not really because of him, rather Mariah's tendency to hire her friends. I'm willing to give this a chance though. They've made good business choices together musically in the past and he seems willing to tell her when something isn't working, so maybe this will be a good thing.

I agree with you both. Give the man a chance. It may work out. I for one am excited because they work so well together and we all know they are capable of making great music as well as number one hits. I also believe that JD will tell her no if something doesn't sound right. All we can do is hope this works out.

Now that we know it's true, I'm very excited, especially after that "very very soon" from Cindy Berger. Bring On Emancipation 2.0. I believe this album is going to be huge, what can ruin it is the critics and the bias media because of her age. But I so want it.

Those three words from Cyndi Berger about Mariah's arrival of her new body of work are very encouraging. As for JD, I didn't see that one coming, but who knows? Let's see what happens.

I agree 100% with your last post. Well written. Let's give it a chance. It might be ok. JD definitely has no problem telling MC "no" and that is what she needs. It's what any artist needs. Too many "yes" people around you is not good. You need someone strong enough willing to stand up and say "no, let's try this direction". As talented as MC is, she isn't right all the time. And she can stand up to JD if her idea is indeed really good and needs to be heard. I'm inclined to think it might work. We'll see. (If the rumor is true. Any further thoughts?)

JD and managing Mariah (39,414)
by Carol from Spain
| |
|
|
I wonder why some lambs are just dissing JD's ability to manage Mariah. This can go either way: Or they are successful at it or they loose big time. I believe it will be a hit because JD is probably one of the persons in the industry that better knows Mariah and her talent as a singer, songwritter and producer. No one better to promote her work than a person that participated in the work. I think people should give him a chance, and don't forget he's is responsible for some of her greatest hits.

Signature songs (39,413)
by Ryan from the Philippines
| |
|
|
Yeah, Through The Rain also (in Asia's case). And I'd just like to add on Alain's comment, TTR and Bye Bye were actually big hits in the Philippines. The former became a staple on singing contests and a karaoke favorite. This song drew a crowd of 40,000 people during her concert in the country in 2003 while the latter became #1, both video and in radios.
