I just adore the pic MC tweeted with Roe and the puppy. She is becoming such a beautiful child. Her hair with the ribbon is just too cute.

1990 - Mariah Carey
1991 - Emotions
1992 - MTV Unplugged
1993 - Music Box
1994 - Merry Xmas
1996 - Daydrdam
1997 - Butterfly
1998 - #1s
1999 - Rainbow
That's nine albums in 10 years and bear in mind she had to co-write and co-produce her music in addition to singing lead and background vocals. I agree as fans we want the best from our idol, but Mariah has given us more than any other singer has given her fans. Cut her some slack jeez. Sometimes I think lambs are very ungrateful at times. You go from demanding the "90s Mariah" back to criticizing her for marrying Nick Cannon. Hey, MC can retire today if she feels like. If you're not satisfied with everything she has given you and always see the need to demand for more, then you'll never be satisfied at all. At this stage in her career, the best we can do is appreciate that she still has the will to keep doing this. I see Whitney fans still mourning her death and here we are always saying what she should do "better", with some fan saying "I'm tired of defending Mariah everytime".

The truth (38,000) by Anonymous from
Ok, lets get this clear, it is not my opinion that Mariah lip sync one of her songs, it's a clear fact. And it's obvious to me that some of you can't tell, because you all are going by what you see instead of hear. It's about what you hear, not see. Maybe you all should try to close your eyes and actually listen to her instead of being lost in all that glitter and glam. It's funny because before I came here, I watched and listened to the performance and I was like, oh my goodness, she is going to get smashed by critics because she just lipped a part of the song. See I didn't "need" the internet to tell me that this mayhave been faked, I knew from my own ears. Like I said, I do not believe Mariah faked it because she couldn't do it, I think it's because it was an awkward start for her to come in on the song Beautiful. She literally divedright in and it sounded drastically different from the actual live performance. Also there was less heavy breathing in the song Beautiful. In the other performance you can hear her take deep breaths. When you listen to most cds, an engineer most of the time edits out the breathing on the track. They can literally go to the audio file and chop it out. That's what happened here. As a person that works on sound I can tell. Also I find it comical how some of you call American Idol cheap when all of the greatest singers have been on this show. It's funny. I bet all of you that call it cheap have never watched it fully. At least 1 season. So you guys say the show is cheap. I guess that makes Aretha Franklin singing on the show cheap too? She didn't lip sync. Wasn't Stevie on from one performance? Mariah Carey going on that show helped her and you all are too proud to say it. It's ok. The show had over 12 million people watching and I'm sure that will be a lot more than GMA audience. No one I know especially of my age watch GMA. No one is up that early and not everyone got a recording device. I'm not being mean, I'm being truthful. The only time I have ever accepted a fake performance was when Beyonce performed her song called Get Me Bodied and she was dancing in extra high heels real fast. Singing the same time would have been impossible. Mariah on the other hand was just standing still. Mariah should have known better than to sing fake after seeing Beyonce fake the national Anthem and how they dogged her. When I heard that, I was happy, because I knew for sure that Mariah wasn't going to lip sync anymore, because of the now close watch. I guess I was wrong.

Joe UK, I'm new here (37,999) by Joe from United Kingdom
Hello to all the lambs. I've been reading this message board for awhile now, I just didn't think to become a member or post anything. I don't know why. Anyway hi everybody, I'm new here.

Stephen, Jimbo, Edward and others (37,998) by Stacey from USA
Well said. It's really sad that fans can't express their opinions and simply leave it at that. Know what I mean? Edward, thank you for your kind words. I always enjoy your posts too. And BTW, you're going to find fans at any artist messageboards who dislike a song, video, etc. MC's boards are no different. Anyway, glad to see Beautiful climbing the charts. Hopefully the GMA performance is spot on and helps the song even more.

Stephen and Stacey (37,996) by S from England
No Stephen, I'm not missing anything, certainly not in this instance. The aim of my previous posts exemplified the fact that a lot of fans have this sense of "entitlement"' to receive these incredible spellbinding performances which in reality have not been achieved by her since the year 2004 (subjectively). So your argument to state that the point of a record deal means the artist is obliged to sell "a lot" is flawed. Many artists nowadays do not have significant singing abilities and some do not even sell a lot. Vintage artists like Mariah are not expected by their labels to prove themselves further with big sellers, partly due to age which often translates to them not being the labels main focus anymore. Evidence of them not promoting her last two albums are so evident you'd have to be blind not to realize, should we discuss the promo of Memoirs compared to Rihanna's Rater R? Whether or not record deals are for making profit or not, that should not interfere with her own personal stage attributes and qualities. I'm well aware that many are not familiar with her vintage material, but that does not stop here from being the biggest selling female recording artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era. At the end of the day Stephen, I'm sure if she could give us those spellbinding performances she would. We do not know the woman on a personal level, so I'm not going to assume that she should "give" us this type of performance that some request. May I also add, I feel that as Mariah fans, we actaully should comment on her performances, but I don't know if anyone else feels like this, but it's just irritating to see fans act as if they know her personally or the damage that she has sustained on her voice. Just enjoy and appreciate her for what she is and what she has done a little more. If I was here and saw all these messages, I'd just feel a bit tired and hopeless that I see soo much negativity on what I can offer now, despite all I have given to you all before, if you know what I mean? Lol.

Edward, TJ (37,995) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
I remember those days. For some reason, even though I am based in the UK, I think I was of the US opinion on those arguments. Looking back, that was actually hilarious. Was it Maria or Mary from the UK? It would be cool if she returned lol.

TJ, #Beautiful on the charts (37,992) by Edward from USA
TJ, I remember you were one of the UK gang , thank heavens you survived the inquisition. I also miss Maria from the UK, she was always on point. She knew she loved Maria and her music, but she also wanted quality and expressed it. As for #Beautiful, it has been on the top 20 on iTunes, it goes up and down, but it has been lingering mostly in the top 16. As of now it's sitting #Beautifully at no. 19. I'll contact you on WhatsApp right after the GMA show to give you details.

A proud fool (37,991) by Anthony Early from Wales
I truly believe Mariah sang live on AI and to those who have expressed disbelief and annoyance at those few who "dare" to criticise Mariah I say: good for you. It's popular these days to be a critic, a hyper analyst and a nay-sayer and to those who don't board the popularist train, I applaud you. As someone else said, Whitney, as talented as she was, broke down vocally before she died, but Mariah, a healthy and active idol of 23 years, is not standing down and is continuing to defy those who doubt her. It's a victory for the true fans, and anyone else, I'll see you in 2102. God bless.

#Beautiful Explicit (37,990) by Deedre aka MiTodoChop @HBF from Canada
For those having trouble finding it on iTunes, it comes up when you refine your search criteria by release date. If you just do a regular search, only the clean version comes up. Hope that helps.

Regards and respect (37,987) by RadChad from United States
Okay, so everyone has a right to express their honest opinion, be it good or bad. I understand (as a fan since 1990) I'm critical or her voice and presentation as well, but I'm saying there's a line that definitely needs to be drawn. At the end of the day we're all suppose to have a certain level of respect for Mariah, because whether you feel she still needs to prove herself to the general public or not, she has already proven herself to us. If you call yourself a true fan apart of that is maintaining a certain level of regards, because in reality she can scrap this album tomorrow and still go down in history as one of the best that ever did it regardless (shot voice, lipping dubbing whatever). Out of all the major fan bases I've run across, I haven't quite witness the level of disregard I've witness on this board. I mean Whitney Houston could've sounded like a bull frog on stage and her fans would still regard her as the best who ever did it regardless of how and why her voice is shot, but here we have people saying the "suppose to be the voice" or "so called voice" really fan? Nicki Minaj fans held her down whether she was wrong as two left shoes or not, they were still in her corner. Yet here you have people siding with Nicki over MC . Beyonce fans so on and so forth. So don't be overly defensive when a fellow fan pull your coat tail to say "hey, alright now, you're going a bit too far", because that's what's gonna happen when you get wreck-less with your delivery. There is a way to express your true feelings on here without it coming across as borderline disrespectful and disparaging. Sometimes you really need to check yourself and remember who you are talking about. Because, it really becomes a shame when the general public appears to have more respect and regards for you than you own fans.

Edward (37,986) by TJ from Norway
I was kind of a part of the "UK gang" even if I am a Norwegian. It was very funny. I miss Maria from the UK (remember her?). I just hope Mariah does a good job on GMA. I hope they start promote this single like they did with the whole TEOM album and singles in 2005. Anyone who knows how #Beautiful is doing on the charts?

Hi Edward, after I refreshed the search I later found it. I figured the # is what I knew he was really saying before the explicit version came out, but I have both versions now.

Some of you went a little too far (37,983) by jaker20 from US
Some of you who went on and on and on your negative parade while the rest of us who enjoyed the AI performance watch here on the sideline. Someone even label us being deaf and another needing to buy new tv, because we can't see that she lipped. How arrogant some of you are for trying to convince us. I love the performance and you can't change it. It's still her voice. Live, lipped, dubbed, still her beautiful voice. Why do you care so much about this cheap show? I don't want her to be on Idol anyway. I always said I want her to leave that silly, fake, irrelevant, sinking ratings, and corny singing show. I don't get why you guys hold it on such high esteem that she has to sing there live. Because she's a judge? Lol. She's a judge because she was paid 20 million plus publicity, increasing her market value, otherwise, she wouldn't touch that show with a ten foot pole. I'd rather her save her voice, and produce more great songs albeit in the studio for many years, than one great performance in that cheap show. She had a great one with Fallon, you all forgot that already? MC is still making great music because she saves her assets and not full blast it all the time like she use to on a weekly basis. She gets more selective as time goes on, while few to none of her contemporaries are as relevant as her because they completely lost it. Anyway, beating the dead horse. Just enjoy #Beautiful. Great song. Not enough space 1730 letters ugh.

Hahaha (37,982) by Anthony Early from Wales
I enjoy the folks who implore that those who don't express their unhappiness at Mariah enough as worshippers. Brilliant. I have often times criticised her and the direction(s) she is taking; this time I am simply standing up for what I believe to be injustice. Anyway, good job Mariah, I don't and never have agreed with everything you do, but from what I've heard very recently, you are still worthy of my adoration as the best vocalist and one of the most incredible artists ever. Please don't inhale poisonous breaths; constructive and observational criticism considered, you are the one that I love, now and always, as an artist. On a personal note, to others, I am passionate about the things that I love, and passion, in my opinion, makes the world go round. Congrats to Mariah on an illustrious, difficult yet rewarding well deserved 23 years. I ain't going nowhere.

Stephen, Stacy, Jimbo and others / #Beautiful (Explicit) (37,981) by Edward from USA
Stephen, Stacy, Jimbo and those other posters who dare to express their opinions here when they may not be well liked, I do really appreciate you. I think you guys bring balance to this messageboard and I've not doubt you love Mariah. I remember those days when there was supposed to be the UK gang against the the US gang on this board, it was hilarious. . Gilbert, I got my #Beautiful (Explicit) from iTunes yesterday. I would send it to you if you buy an extra copy of #Beautiful (clean) which would be the same as if you bought the explicit version, just to be fair to Mariah. Guys, remember to stream the video on Vevo, it's free and it counts towards Billboard final numbers.

Ahah (37,980) by Sasha from Nomansland
How smart she is, keeping the explicite version under her sleeve and then releasing it to get extra download lol. Mariah may be judged, criticised or praised sometimes wrongly or rightly, but at least she left nobody unaffected. She is the one who holds the reins of her career, so whatever the good or bad moves she makes, at the end of the day she is the one who will get the benefits or pay the price.

American Idol lip sync scandal (37,979) by Marcos from Brazil
I kinda liked the lip sync scandal, because now Mariah knows that everybody knows she lip syncs and maybe from now on she will be more careful in her performances and will deliver us something real. I've been observing her TV and concert performances since 2005 and, though she sings most of the songs live, she almost always lips the high notes and whistles parts. And lipping is so out of date. Nowadays even bad singers are singing live, Katy Perry and Selena Gomez are examples of that. I really don't care if she can't hit all the high notes like she did before or if her voice is not the same but, c'mon, she's one of the best singers out there and I don't think it's too much to give us something real with what her voice can provide. No more pre-recorded vocals, she don't need to be perfect. Let's see how her GMA performances will be.

Wow (37,978) by Jimbo from UK
The posts on this forum are getting a little abusive. If someone wants to "whine" about something Mariah related, so be it, let them. It can't be disturbing you that much and you can always ignore the post. The forum should be inclusive. Let's not bully one another. Be nice or leave. Any lamb recognise that phrase?

Family / butterflies, unicorns and rainbows (37,977) by Edward from USA
I consider the messageboard like a family, and family don't usually agree on everything. My mother used to say, I can say something about my kids, but I can do that, because I am part of this family. Some of us express our concern about Mariah, but to fellow members of the messageboard family, never outside. Some people here want us to be like all the yes people Mariah has always had in her life, those who were afraid to say they didn't like a single choice or a certain decision just because she was Mariah Carey. People forget that Mariah sells a product which is her artistry through her biggest asset which is her voice. We've been buying that product as fans for a long time, even when the product wasn't up to her own standards. So to come here and suggest that we should just take the product and fly away like butterfly whether it is good or bad is insane. When people complain, something is usually done to correct the problem, but if we just sit here among butterflies, rainbows and unicorns, pretending everything is perfect, nothing will be done about it. Some of us express our frustrations because we love Mariah and her music. So, after the Idol dubbed mess brought up, we'll most likely see an improvement on GMA on Friday. You are not excused to produce a table with only one leg because you've been making great four-legged tables for 20 years.

Will (37,976) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Yea, the reaction to #Beautiful has been great so far. People are genuinely feeling the song, with absolutely no promotion. It's been added to A playlist on Choice FM and I think Kiss FM too. I even heard it in the gym, and I haven't heard a Mariah song in the gym since TMB. It's been increasing in sales for a number of weeks, and is sitting in the top 20 on iTunes. This is a big impact for Mariah in the UK, and bodes well for the album.

Stacey (37,975) by Stephen from London, United Kingdom
Thank you. However, you know how it is here. If you don't constantly worship Mariah, even when it's undue, you're somehow not a fan or you're being "nasty". Utterly ridiculous. I've not said anything that isn't more than an opinion, and nothing I'd consider nasty. You know me, I'll call a spade a spade, and I'm happy to express that. If people don't like it, then I don't care. It's just an opinion. I never said it was fact. My writing stye may be persuasive or quite forthright, but that's just how I write. I've never stated that what I'm saying is the Bible. People on here really need to get some perspective. Anyways, back to what it's all about *plays #Beautiful*.
