Courtney, regarding medleys (38,067) by jaker20 from US She should have just sang #Beautiful in AI, instead of a medley. Her part in the song is short anyway, so she'd have slayed it. She could have sang it with a contestant or anyone else if Miguel can't make it. I mean how fun would it have been if Keith sang with her? That would be viral. And then again with GMA she should have sang #Beautiful first and give us great vocals because she'll sing the song first. MC's promo has been messy, and this pattern dates back to Bye Bye. Since then it's been messy promos after the other, from bad videos, to hiring her husband to direct mediocre vids, to no live performances to promote songs, to no big spectacle like "Its Like That" on VH1. Its been messy since Bye Bye in all honesty. Even #Beautful, such great song with mediocre video. It could have a great story or concept like Its Like That like some other lead single. Her last two studio albums, E=MC2 and MOAIA, both generated smash hits, "Touch My Body", "Obsessed" (within the US), and "IKTKWLI" (abroad). Plus, she performed a brand-new song, "#Beautiful", which we can consider a worldwide hit. I don't see the "has-been". She cannot perform new songs because her album isn't ready. I believe it's time to cut Mariah some slack. Many people go too far with critics, crossing the line. Let's try to see things objectively, that's all. (Wednesday 29 May 2013; 6:14)

RadChad, about disrespectful messages (38,064) by Edward from USA RadChad, one thing I have noticed and that I deeply appreciate from Eric, the webmaster, is that he doesn't allow disrespectful or hateful messages towards Mariah here, hence he has never posted them. Through the years he has even addressed some of those who attempted and later complained not having their messages posted. In my opinion he has been very fair. We have had some heated disagreements on this board, but I never saw anything stating they hated Mariah or her music as a whole. Never saw anybody refer to Mariah with profanity either, e.g. calling her a slut. I know it is only your opinion, but I think it is fair to Eric clarifying that. Looking back I realize that at the end of the day we all want Mariah to succeed. It doesn't mean we are right or wrong, but at least we can vent here with people who love her too. I love this messageboard because it is different from any other messageboard I have seen on the net. I don't know if you have noticed, but Mariahdailyjournal only posts positive news about Mariah, which is ok, but it is good to know different points of view from the media. Just my humble opinion. Hopefully fans will not supply the press with quotes for "naysayers section" of their reviews this time. Air clearing and clarifications (38,060) by RadChad from United States Stephen and Stacie, it's all good. I just wanted to clarify that my past post weren't targeting/personally addressing one person in particular (though I did quote Stephen in one post), it was more general and based on several post I've read from other members as well (not a personal attack on Stephen). Actually, this was the first time I've noticed Stephen's post being on the rougher side of blunt, but like I said before, I understood where he was coming from in general and can respect his opinion. Being that he's usually very diplomatic. However, I still stand by the point that there has been other members of the board that have made straight up disrespectful comments regarding MC and I feel that it shouldn't be a problem for myself and/or others to address it. At the end the day, having that open dialogue while hearing each other out can result in something positive. Even if we don't end up seeing eye to eye, we can learn things and understand each other more. Just my thoughts. Peace. (Tuesday 28 May 2013; 23:21)

Medleys (38,059) by Courtney from USA Jacker, with GMA it's supposed to be a mini concert so a medley works best for that and ABMB and WBT were both massive spring/summer hits, so it's only fair Mariah chose to sing those along with Beautiful on GMA. It's tough to sing early in the morning or late at night, especially with a fragile voice like Mariah's. Add into that her stage fright and that gives the results we saw on GMA. There goes my hope (38,058) by Edward from USA I was hoping for a longer version of #Beautiful, but according to what Miguel stated on the interview, he had already written his verse when he teamed up with Mariah, and then they wrote the second verse together, so my hopes for a bridge or a little bit more singing from Mariah are gone. I was hoping for a longer version, just like Miguel did with his single Adorn. Actually I didn’t know Miguel, but by collaborating with Mariah, I realized he had some great songs, Adorn being a gem. I do believe #Beautiful was a last minute song, just like We Belong Together and It’s Like That were, and they worked very well. #Beautiful is fighting to stay alive, I hope it doesn’t lose steam until the album comes out. She needs to promote #Beautiiful only and slay it, instead of a medley where she's great on WBT, ABMB and then a mediocre #Beautiful. If the song is a smash, then people will buy her old hits. Before people buy catalogs, they want to see her relevance first. People who want the songs already have them anyway. In the past, MC always promotes the lead single only, and the songs in the new album. I love the performances, but she's sung them so many times and better in the past. #Beautiful is a great great song, and we need one strong, solid performance of the song, say acapella so the vocals are focused, much like what she did with Fallon. New album (38,055) by Musti from UK I just noticed that the new album will be Mariah's first summer release since Music Box, which was released on 31 August 1993. TEOM and E=MC2 were released in April, and Butterfly, Glitter and Memoirs in September, but no actual summer release in 20 years. I hope it doesn't get pushed back. Beautiful is a great summer track. Mariah on AI (38,053) by Joe from United Kingdom As much as I don't care for AI as a show, I am going to miss seeing Mariah each week, as that was the only reason I tuned in. I guess I'll just have to patiently wait for even more new music. No offence to anyone, but it would be completely pointless for her to address the lip syncing. I mean if nobody realises (AI excluded) then you don't need to say anything. A magician never reveals his/her secrets, although I have to agree that maybe she should be more confident in her current voice (which is still amazing) to perform fully live arrangements of the songs. #Beautiful is so addictive (38,052) by Edward from USA I have heard it on the radio a couple times already and it sounds so different from anything being played out there. I hope radio keeps supporting the song and make it about the music and not the bs. Mariah is maybe holding back to do massive promotion when the album is out, but it is crazy to me we don't even have an album title yet. The way I see things, she might be dropping the album by mid July. She definitely needs to arrange #Beautiful so she could sing it live without messing it up, since thjs song has great potential. I would hate to see it fade away from the charts due to lack of good promotion. I can't wait for any kind of remix from of song, I have the impression Mariah is cooking a surprise to push the sales up. The explicit version of #Beautiful is rising slowly on iTunes. A question (38,051) by Lyric from USA Guys, I want some opinions on this if you don't mind. Do you guys think Mariah should address the lip syncing, or at least the current state of her voice? I would love it if someone like Barbara Walters addressed Mariah's lipped performances, because I would like to hear what she's doing to preserve her voice. A true vocalist has never been open or admitted to lip syncing because it could be detrimental to their reputation. But there are many lambs who want some type of explanation. If she said something, then maybe people wouldn't have such high expectations for her "live" performances. (Monday 27 May 2013; 4:09)

#Beautiful (38,049) by Anonymous from I just bought my copy of #Beautiful from Amazon. I wish it was the uncensored version. I still haven't heard that version. I'm in love with this song. It makes me feel undressable. I haven't been this pleased with a Mariah song in years. She's a lycal genius. And her voice is still the voice. She's my idol. I can still remember when I saw the Fantasy video for the first time. I was enraptured. I made my mom buy the single and Daydream album that day. GMA / Beautiful rewrite (38,046) by Che from USA I had the opportunity to attend the GMA performance and vocally both Miguel and Mariah were on point in rehearsal and even how it sounded live. Why there seemed to be such a difference in how it sounded on air I don't know. However there was quite a bit of disorganization that went on and from my perspective quite a bit of it was on GMA's part. For those who say that Mariah should rewrite Beautiful just to feature her voice more, why? If she had wanted to do that, she would have done that from the beginning. Honestly, if she were to rewrite it with just her, then it wouldn't be the #Beautiful we've all come to know and I think the vibe and integrity of the song would be lost. (Sunday 26 May 2013; 10:44)

Stephen and RadChad / Lee (38,044) by Stacey from USA Stephen and RadChad, It's nice to see two people get passed the delivery and understand the points the other person is trying to make. I enjoyed reading your conversation on Mariah's voice. Lee, I'm with you on the GMA performance. Miguell sounded fine. It wasn't as bad as the AI mess. ABMB and WBT were great, especially WBT, where at the end of the song she let out a fierce look. I hope she keeps that line of focus during this era. From wardrobe malfunctions to not having her mic hooked up, her performances lately seem disorganized. Her personality is hillarious and I enjoyed how she played off the "hot mess" in some spots, but it just seems she needs to step up her game. Know what I mean? Some may say she has nothing left to prove, and in many respects you guys are right. However, longevity is also a sign of greatness and each time people have counted her out, MC has turned it on and proven those naysayers wrong. I feel she is at another crossroads much like with TEOM, where this is a key point in her career to prove she can still be current. #Beautiful is a great start. The "Beautiful" song is in my opinion Mariah's strongest lead single since "It's like that". As far as yesterday on GMA, there was a lot of disorganization on both sides. The first two performances were definitely homeruns. Mariah looked great as well. As for the "Beautiful" performance, I will just say M and M need to practice a little for future performances.
