As always beautiful written Mara. You described it so well with the "auto pilot". I also think her inner sparkle is missing. Last year it was there and she was shining. Yes, maybe she's just tired. I hope she's okay. I also wondered that there are no new pics with Bryan. Of course it's private but usually they post pics during Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. We'll see. I hope she's ready for the concerts and can enjoy it with the lambily.

There [is] something very wrong with Mariah as of late. Her interviews have been low energy, not interesting at all, she seems apathetic, has no inspiration, she seems dead inside, her eyes have now sparkles. I have seen some of the footage from her first concert, I can't even tell if she is singing or not, no facial expressions, no nothing.
People of this board, we have sometimes wondered if Mariah secretly visits this board, and if that is the case, no wonder she is in such a bad place right now. I feel bad for the harsh things I might have said in the past, all though my post are mostly positive.
Our girl is not in a good place mentaly right now. I am [sincerely] concerned about her wellbeing. Let's do her a favour and be kind and understanding, she deserves that from the Lambily, if she can't get any praise here, where will she get it?
Please guys, let's pause the sh*t posting and just send her our blessings and gratitude for a while, Mariah is hurting, it's obvious.
I hope Mariah gets the rest and relaxation between shows that she needs. If continuing a stellar career has taken such a toll, I would quit, take a long hiatus, it's not worth it Mariah. Get better Mariah, we love you, don't you ever forget.
My last post was a bit [dramatic], but still true. Just wanted to ad, Mariah's voice is in better shape than in years, sounds 2016'ish, and it seems like she has taken the lambily's advice and started to sing the songs in her lower register. I think it's actually mostly live, she rarely tries to hit high notes, and the ones she "hits" are mostly lipped. It was very refreshing to hear her just sing the songs with the voice that she got, the concert just feels so much more real and authentic. Continue like this, Mariah, I'd much rather listen to a whole concert with you singing in the middle to lower register, than faking the upper register and barely sing a note.
But what is going on with Mariah besides that it's clear she has rested her voice, I don't know. Her recent face lift is obvious, her face doesn't move anymore, it has turned completely stiff, not a motion in sight, not even her eyebrows move when she sings, and that used to be her signature face movements. Maybe she's on extremely strong pain killers after all the surgeries that makes her heavily sedated, I have never seen her energy this low.

Her sparkle is a miss this year and I can feel it almost like the first year at the Beacon where she geared up singing Hero and she was separated from Nick. I wonder if her and Bryan took a break to see how things went and decided to officially end the relationship recently. I just hope she is ok. This is her time and she always has that sparkle in her eye and seeing her almost blank makes me sad. Maybe she is just tired of this and not in the mood this season. It happens to all of us. But as a day one 1990 fan, M always wears her heart on her sleeve and we can read her better than anyone else. We love you Mariah - go out there and have some amazing shows making amazing memories with your beautiful children by your side.

It's a darn shame that the following tracks didn't have the features included on the official album versions:
1) UOMF - Nicki Minaj
2) Whenever you call - Brian McKnight
3) Against all odds/Take a look at me now - Westlife
There are a few features I could have done without on the album release, these three are ones I wish were included on the official album release every time I listen to the respective albums in full.

She should have stuck with the cosmetics, she's always had great skin. Through her weight changes, the one thing she always had is great skin. Look at Ariana who is making hundreds of millions on cosmetics.
Mariah has always been product hopping. She didn't stick to just one.

It's always seemed like a shame to me that Mariah's side project always have a short shelf life. Once they've been around for a few months, either the contract for those items discontinues and she moves on to the next or she loses interest altogether once it stops becoming lucrative. Her perfume lines (not including the lollipop bling lines, but the first one for sure) could have been a long term product for her, like Britney's or Beyonce's.

Yes Will. I saw your post right after mine and it's nice to see we both are getting the same vibes here. It's not easy when you are with someone that long and they become a part of you and your entire life and your kids life. The holidays are always the worst times for a loss or a breakup. Imagine being Mariah Carey dealing with that when you are the season. I feel for her. I hope I'm wrong but that's my vibe. I think we are def on the same page. I think the car accident she was in around 2007 took an unreal emotional toll on her. Some on the board seem to forgot how life experience affects your artistic output at the deepest level. I love Brandy, and the Butterfly Lounge reimagining was a missed opportunity for both Mariah and Randy.

It's interesting to see the wild pendulum swing in personality presentation Mariah can give within a year. Last year she was a bit all over, not sure what to say or do, and her mannerisms and insecurities were magnified ten fold, whether it was performing or even in interviews. But at least she was more alive and animated. Lately, it's been low energy with minimal expressions mixed with slowed down speaking, a half smile and laugh and shorter answers (not a bad thing but still). It's like we've gone back to late 2008/2016. I do think she and Tanaka have split privately, and she's going through it, and maybe that's what's brought on the recent writing spree and she's dealing with that. She wears her emotions on her sleeve, and keeps them close to the surface. Whether it's when she's happy, nervous, annoyed or sad, she can't hid it very well, though try she might. And I do think we're now seeing her dealing with a private breakup with someone she has known in 2006, threw away an engagement to a billionare for (granted, I don't think she really loved Packer so wasn't a huge loss there), and has been a larger part of her life up until this point, in the public eye again the best way that she can.

It's funny, yesterday I listened to a few MC songs that I hadn't listened to in a while, like "Lead the Way". After doing so, I thought "why can't we just be content with exploring such amazing vocal performances and not bicker or focus on what we are not receiving as fans". And today, I viewed the Jennifer Hudson "interview" and wondered "what is going on with her that she has to have such interviews and questions scripted and then repeated for every subsequent interview she does during her publicity efforts"? It makes me question her well being and mental health status. I hope she is well. There are clearly changes we are not aware of, as evidenced by Tanaka's seeming absence, her reduced social media presence, the lack of any new recordings in years and the seeming abandonment of MC brand products like Black Irish and Mariah Cookies. Perhaps it's not our "right" to know but we do wish to be supportive of her as an individual, an artist and entrepreneur.

Mariah's kids are going to be teenagers next year, so hopefully things don't get even more hectic in the Mariah home. It seems at least that she's doing a great job there.
As for Tanaka, I was going to ask how that turned out. It's her private life but lets face it, they were together longer than any of Mariah's relationships and fans are going to ask. It didn't seem like a good ending, otherwise they would have acknowledge it.
On J. Hudson interview, I feel like she does not want to asked about Tanaka or anything related to her current relations, and that's why it sounded scripted.

We always like to ask that in Mariah's case, but what about Brandy?  What happened to that agile, pristine, silvery color-filled voice she used to have? Especially on "Never Say Never". Honestly in terms of vocal tone, she was up there with Whitney and Mariah, so pleasant to the ears. Her version of "Everything I do (I do it for you)" floored me, literally chills every time I play that song. Now she's (for a lack of words to describe it) monochrome and bland. Her new Christmas album is a total snooze fest. Ugh.
