Best song intro (102,781) by MusicfanJ from Germany
"Fantasy" and "Vision of Love" are outstanding. 100% Mariah magic, just brilliant. Yes, her years from 1990 until 1999 are unbelievable. I did a "music marathon" with the songs from that decade. The melodies, her lyrics, her voice so soft and powerful. I can't get enough of it. It's addictive for the ears and soul. Oh Tina Arena really? She's great. That would be a nice surprise. I have a best of CD from her, I just listenend the week before. Fanstasic voice and the song "Chains" reminded me a little bit of Mariah on some parts.

You're so right, Matty. The Bachelorette commercial is what prompted my post. I was moving around cleaning in my living room and I heard the Fantasy intro and MC's iconic voice. I think that Fantasy has been used more in past 5 years in commercials and movies than any other MC song. 1990-1999 will always be the years that non fans will know Mariah Carey for her work and artistry. Cheers to the queen of iconic songs and intros and that voice back then. I hope that we get biopic movie in the next five years played by the Australian singer and actress Tina Arena.

Fantasy is like nothing else. I think it's her most known intro to non-lambs for sure and you just know exactly the fire and heat she's about to unleash. I love the "Bounce Bounce Bounce" from Migrate is epic especially for an album opener; probably her best album opener. I'd also back the LoverBoy Firecracker intro; it's a heartbreaker that she couldn't have released that initially.

Ps. Any North American's see the upcoming commercial for The Bachelorette? [They] use [Fantasy] in it, and starts with that epic intro. It's almost a best of montage Fantasy it's [an] amazing commercial and I'm not even a fan of the show.

Both Vision of Love and Fantasy (the pop version) have this dramatic ominous tone that lets you know some sh*t is about to go down.

For me, it would have to be "You're So Cold". The only thing to match is the intro "Emotions" from Unplugged. They're a serve. That said, the Fantasy intro is wholly iconic.

To me [it] has to be Vision Of Love. The [song] that started [it] all. The [mystery] involved in those few first seconds, the announcement of all the magic that is yet to come. I would also [highlight] the intros of "Fantasy", "Honey", "Dreamlover" and the first beautiful and nostalgic chords Of "Vanishing" (they remind me a bit [of] A Natural Woman's intro).

Article: Mariah Carey shares intimate glimpse into private life (102,773) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Good morning everyone. Did the time machine work and we have 93? What a lovely, beautiful pic of Mariah. Stunning. Plus I love animals, so Mariah with her dogs, more cuteness isn't possible.

Vanishing in Sydney (102,772) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I just discovered this. Vanishing is one of my favourites from Mariah and I really love this little rendition of it. I love the Butterfly tour, also her voice had a change, but still overwhelming. Her energy on stage, her look, her charisma. She seemed so happy. Just wow. I wish the tour had be released on DVD. The band was fantastic too, I like the guitar player on My All. And the intro of the concert, so beautiful.

Tina Turner (102,771) by Terna from Nigeria
I guess we only have a limited time here to live and leave our mark. She's one of the few that definitely achieved this easily, and she will always be remembered and revered. Rest easy.

RIP Tina (102,770) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes she was. I grew up with her music. Germany loves Tina. The whole world. What a powerful lady. Real music, a real superstar with such a positive, friendly aura. Almost all the good ones are gone. It makes me thoughtful indeed. Time goes too fast. Tina Turner's music will stay forever.

RIP to a true legend, Tina Turner. Mariah was featured along with other artists in a segment before a late 90s live concert of Tina Turner and she spoke very highly of her. It was around the Rainbow era.

Martyn Hett (102,766) by Randy from USA
Andrew, you and I have had our ups and downs but the fact that you make sure that this board memorializes Martyn yearly, warms my spirit and speaks strongly of your heart. I and this board misses you. And we miss Martyn. I know this board squabbles but we are definitely family and regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender or nationality, we all love MC and deep down we now all love each other. Martyn always showed love to Mariah and all of us. May he rest in paradise.

Long Live the Queen Of Rock. Today I can't stop crying. It is such a loss. I remember how her songs and her life story gave me strength during highschool. I hope Mariah lives many many years with health. We have to be thankful for having her among us.

Martyn Hett (102,760) by Mara from United States
Will always remember Martyn "Til The End Of Time" and very glad you reminded us Andrew. I know you guys were close friends. I'll never forget hearing the news and worrying if Martyn was indeed one of the victims of that terrible tragedy in Manchester. Martyn was a sweet soul who was one of M's biggest fans. I was lucky enough to post and interacted with him quite a few times on this board. I haven't posted too much as of late but I still come by and read the board every day or other day. Always felt you balanced out the board Andrew. Maybe we can all play "One Sweet Day" in Martyn's honor and know he is shining down on us from heaven "Til The End Of Time". I hope you share your thoughts a bit more Andrew and thank you for reminding us about MH. Hard to believe 6 years have passed since that terrible day.

DFAU U.S. double vinyl (102,759) by Bobby A from United States
Does anybody know why the U.S. double vinyl release never received an photo cover instead was packaged in a plain white cover with only a hype sticker? It looks like the Japan version received the official single cover.

Katy Perry believed her own hype but then had to eat her own words. She's irrelevant now. Legends like Mariah should be respected.

Right here in Bala Cynwyd in Philadelphia area made me happy as a lamb. Katy Perry's Roar played and then followed by WBT. And boy I hear a lot of of women singing in the background. I hope Mariah knows how much of a genius she is in penning such a classic that makes a lot of people sing and memorize all the words and not just like Oprah pretending to know. And yes Katy, Mariah is famous for a throwback, very very famous.
