Re: AIWFCIY finally hits #1 in the UK (96,917) (96,929) by Edward from USA
I got Covid, don't make me laugh, I can't.

Do you think Mariah has another #1 in her? (96,928) by Libra Lamb from USA
I was really hoping that Mariah would pull through again with another Billboard Hot 100 #1. What do you guys think? I'm wanting to stay positive and supportive but I don't want to be delusional. I guess anything is possible. She's still an amazing writer, producer and can sing circles around most of today's entertainers. Cheers to her for her many accomplishments to date. She is still very impressive and I'm always proud to be a Lamb. I live with my husband in the Atlanta area if anyone else does too and one day wants to meet up, after the pandemic, of course.

Re: O Santa! O Mariah (96,924) (96,925) by Libra Lamb from USA
That's hilarious. Thank you so much, I needed a good laugh. I have been coming here almost 20 years and don't post often. When I see anyone putting others down I feel the need to step in and defend them. You're absolutely right though, I should take my own advice and just ignore it and keep it moving. Obsessed and in love? I think not. Very very funny though, made me laugh out loud. Thank you again for making sense and I'm sorry Andrew and I'm sorry Eric, I'll try and stay in my lane going forward. I will, however, not be going anywhere. I love Mariah and I love this website.

Why are yo so obsessed with Andrew? All your messages you wrote the last days (which I didn't post) are about Andrew. I think you have a crush on him. Remember you said that you would ignore his messages? I think your love for him is too strong. You even changed your name to "I don't know him" as a reference to Andrew.

In that context, it's "cue" not "queue". Nevermind. Onwards and upwards.

And that's not even the worst lyric in there.

The song couldn't decide if it's a Halloween soundtrack, a sung doomsday reminder, a hunger relief anthem, a prayer solicitation, a bad geography lesson, or a cloying after-school special closing song. And all of that is supposed to amount to a Christmas song. Was this (and We Are The World) supposed to be the 80's version of "woke"-pop?

Seriously, the Africa reference is just ignorant. Apparently the entire continent is a place of perpetual drought - no more, no less.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just baffled at how such a horrendous song could exist, let alone be a hit. Excuse me as I go wash my ears with Merry Christmas darling.

I meant Do They Know It's Christmas is probably the "most tone deaf" Christmas song ever. Telling people to be glad that other people are in a worse situation than you are does not a holiday song make.

Ha, I disassociate myself with any potentially libellous comments made here and could not possibly provide further comment.

Ha, mate, how weird. I'm in a pub having lunch and Do They Know It's Christmas just came on and we were debating how crap it is. And, also, insulting. "Feed the world, let them know it's Christmastime"? I am sure the atheists, the Muslims, the Sikhs, the Jews etc don't care lol. Do we only feed the Christians? And only at Christmastime? It's such a terrible song, thou art correct.

UK No 1 spot (96,916) by Terna from Nigeria
I guess this really is a magical Christmas after all, Congratulations Mariah Carey. I laughed out loud when I saw the headlines, I believe she's broken a spell there now she'll hit number one more often there.

Re: O Santa! O Mariah (96,904) (96,915) by Libra Lamb from USA
Way to make Mariah's success all about you. It's funny how you only love her when it's convenient to you. No surprise there. And furthermore, stop harassing people and breaking down their posts with your negative comments to make you feel better. There's no need to attack others' opinions. Everyone else, have a Merry Christmas. ❤️ I don't care how long anyone has been coming to this site, I don't care how long anyone has been posting here and especially I don't care that anyone doesn't know my name or sees my picture. If I wanted anyone to know personal details about me, I would have given it already. Everyone needs to respect each other's opinions, no excuses. If you don't like something you read, just keep it moving. This is not the place to argue and put people down just so you can feel better about yourself. It's very off putting.

I used to live in Brighton too. I had a friend and we used to go to lunch and discuss Mariah. Agent M was the name they used. We lost touch and it seemed a coincidence that you used that name.

Elaborate Mr G, sounds interesting. The guy holding that bottle of vodka with George used to be a male escort.

Re: O Santa! O Mariah (96,904) (96,911) by B from USA
Reading this made me cry. It brought back memories of me being mocked for defending Mariah during the Glitter era. I was a sophomore in high school, and everyone I went to school with knew I was "Mariah's biggest fan", but I got the last laugh when Mariah scored the biggest comeback in music history and went on to become the legend that she is. I read AIWFCIY is predicted to return to #1 on the Hot 100 this week but haven't heard anything about how Oh Santa is performing.

Look, Last Christmas is overplayed, but that's still a better export than Do They Know It's Christmas, possibly the most Christmas song from the UK that has somehow become a holiday standard.

AIWFC UK No 1 (96,906) by Andrew from UK
This is a big moment, finally, she's number one. I don't often write on here anymore but today is a huge occasion for us UK lambs. I listened to the chart live today, as I did back in the 90s, waiting to hear her chart position. So often not getting the chart positions I always felt her songs deserved. This song is probably her most popular song by the general public here in the UK, so I'm glad it's finally reached its long awaited peak position. Happy Christmas Lambs.

I hate Last Christmas. But it seems to be a UK favourite. Here's an interesting story for you. George Michael stole vodka from me. And here's the evidence.
